Treasure around every corner. I've been coming here off and on since I was a kid and it's always felt the same: inviting and exciting.no one gatekeeps here and it's packed floor to ceiling with wonderful tales to help you escape your current reality.please visit this absolute jem!
The guy running the place is a complete tool. I've never felt like such an inconvenient walking into a comic book store in my life. If his name is Marty, Marty Sucks!
I walked in And gave a big enthusiastic hi to the guy with the glasses working in the comic area. He Barely greeted me, it was actually really cold and I immediately felt unwelcomed. Even when I went to pay, it was like he couldn't wait for me to leave. Maybe he doesn't like coloured people was my assumption.
I'll never go back in there again. Phoenix north is way better
Worst customer service ever. I thought I was a ghost, as the guy working in there (dude with short hair and glasses) completely ignored me for the ten minutes I was in there, and it was only me and one other customer! I finally asked him a couple of questions, but it seemed I was an inconvenience so I left.
This store has long been a staple of Calgary's collector community. Comics, figures, models and more, the staff here have you covered. Prices are always more than fair, and the store layout is easy to navigate. If you haven't been, go, if you have, go back!
Worst customer service. Called to see if open during COVID-19 as I had been there before during ‘open hours’ and they were closed, answers curtly and then hangs up before I finished asking my questions. Was just there and he and another guy were talking smack about another retailer. Will not be giving this guy my business.
I’ve been coming here for over thirty years. The store has expanded several times over the years and with each expansion, it gets even better. It’s been owned by the same owner for probably four decades. The selection is wonderful and the prices are fair. Highly recommended!
Great store, lots of great selection, and the prices are amazing. I highly recommend you check out the clearance section because there is some hidden gems for a steal of a price there. I’ve been going to Phoenix comics for years and I have always felt at home there. The staff is quiet and can seem cold but they are good people once you spend enough time around them. I think the beauty of this store is that it doesn’t feel like some big chain store. Its not a place that you just walk into, do some quick shopping, check out, and leave without a thought. For me at least, this place is a place you can stand in the aisles for an hour investigating what feels like every collected edition made, maybe meet some new people and share your opinions, and check out a vast collection of reasonably priced but amazing collectable figures and sculptures. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to find a store they go to regularly.
They have a big selection of items so give yourself a lot of time to look- make sure to check open/ closing times before you go. Parking in the back. Don't expect staff to approach you for help, but if you ask questions they are fairly knowledgeable!
