Stayed in Oct. Just writing a review now.

We rented a cabin at Pine Bungalows for our stay in Jasper. We wished we could have stayed a couple more nights. When we arrived, it was late at night, the property was pretty dark. We could not see our cabin number or the parking spot attached to our cabin.

When we did get to our cabin and unpacked, we were greeted to a pleasant experience. The cabin is cozy, has a small kitchen and an electric fireplace. The bathroom has heat floor that felt so good when walking on in a cold morning.

Once morning came, the view from the cabin is amazing. Crispy, clean air, the river flowing, and a nice area to hang out.

The staff is friendly, the breakfast was great. If we come back to Jasper, which we will, we will be staying at Pine Bungalows again.

Our family had a really good time staying with Pine Bungalows. We came at the end of the season and it was very quiet. Rene from reception and Kevin from the bar/restaurant are professional, friendly and genuine. There was a hot water issue on our 2nd and 3rd day. So we were offered to upgrade to a different room on our 3rd day and eventually been credited for our 3rd day.our family was grateful for their kind gesture. We will see you soon.

The forested, riverside setting, with space between charming cabins, fire pits with a dry wood supply, welcoming staff, walking paths, and the peaceful atmosphere made for such an enjoyable getaway. Everything was spotless. As Jasper is a dark sky preserve, the lack of light pollution and the star-gazing was excellent. We plan to return.

I LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE.mother in law booked us a cabin overlooking the river. I love that there was no wifi or a tv. A sweet getaway from the real world. It gave my husband and I quality time to spend together and walk by the river. I recommend this place 10/10. It was pristine and peaceful.
Also, the cabin is complete with a tub and I wish I can live there forever. It is now our happy place

We spent 3 nights in the river front cabin and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I would classify the cabin as "rustic chic"- immaculate and having all the amenities we needed- a good sized fridge, microwave, dishes, cutlery and a stove with oven so you could cook a simple meal in (on the off chance you ever get tired of dining at the many excellent restaurants in Jasper - a 5 minute drive away). The king bed was very comfortable and the heated floors in the bathroom a great feature! Firplace and fire pit with wood provided was also appreciated. We are looking forward to a return visit!

We stayed at the lodge. I can say the actual room is much better from pic we'd seen from booking website. If there's a chance to visit Jasper again next time, we would pick to stay at the lake side cabin.

Despite the lodge being near the woods which makes the interior a little bit quiet, there were some hard-to-catch mosquitoes along with a really dirty floor. Also, there were not many places to eat.

Pine Bungalows is a beautiful place to stay in Jasper. The East Cabins are self contained and the individual fire pits give you the feeling of camping with all of the comforts of a soft warm bed, fireplace, and showers. I only give it a four because their prices have raised exponentially since we last stayed there. For over $500.00 per night - you might as well pay the extra and stay at Jasper Park Lodge.

I will start with the positives. The location was great. A nice short trail is on the property, and we saw a mother elk and her baby from our balcony. The room was clean, and the staff provided a one-use grill to cook food when we arrived because the power was out.

During our stay, Jasper's power was knocked out by a fire 30 kilometers away. There were minor inconveniences arising from that that I will not mention in this review because the owners/staff should not be blamed for an incident beyond their control. However, I do have a major gripe with the resort's general adaptability and follow through on accommodation requests.

I booked 16 lodges/hotels during our 7,000 mile cross-country roadtrip between Alaska and Virginia. I booked online using the same filters for every reservation to indicate that we were a family of five (two adults and three kids who were seven years old or younger, including a 4mo old baby). Nonetheless, I was surprised to find only one king bed and one twin bed when we arrived. Somehow my reservation was booked as only for two adults, and I have no idea how that happened. Every other reservation on our roadtrip was booked correctly. The main issue in this situation was that our two oldest kids are territorial and no longer sleep in the same bed well together. The twin bed was too small for me, my wife, and the baby while she nursed him during the night.

The evening we arrived, I approached the receptionist with a friendly demeanor and politely asked to change rooms. I know you get better results with sugar, and I was certain the booking mix up was just a technical glitch. I said that I would be happy to pay the difference. The receptionist was friendly and understanding and said to come back in the morning when the supervisor was there. He said there should be no problem switching from a lodge room to a cabin. My family and I went to bed that night uncertain whether we would be freezing in the morning without power overnight. Thankfully, the back up generator was delivered and energized the room at 2am.

The morning receptionist, in contrast to her coworker the night before, was totally unwilling to move us and claimed there were no linens for the cabins. I approached her with the same friendly disposition as her coworker the night before, but she was short with me and unfriendly. I suspect that the true reason they could not move us was that the back up generator could not supply electricity to the hotel style rooms and the cabins which, based on the many empty driveways, were largely unoccupied. The staff could have just told me that, and I would have understood, but the uneven approach to my request to switch rooms and the rude and unempathetic demeanor of the morning receptionist left a lasting negative impression.

I would probably not stay here again.

Wonderful rustic cabins just outside jasper. Path along the river. Good small restaurant and small store for supplies. We stayed in hotel part but I think the cabins are housekeeping at least some of them

This is our 2nd time staying at Pine Bungalows and I've always loved the serenity and the privacy of the place. Our first time was magical, the staff were great and we had the chance to meet the manager and there were even complimentary drinks. The 2nd time around though, it seemed as though staffing has changed. The staff were not as welcoming as before. The place was still gorgeous but our room was quite disappointing. I have my 2yo with me and seeing the sheet dirty when we arrived was not what I expected at all. Also there was a single fly inside the room. I told the front desk and they changed the sheet but the fly was still there lol. I hope the next time-if and when we come back it would be the way it was when we came the first time!

We loved our stay at Pine Bungalows! Being right next to the river, enjoying the Elk pass through the property, and be greeted with a complimentary drink made for a memorable stay. The staff was extremely friendly, and the breakfast was delicious!

Stayed here for our anniversary late Oct 2022. We booked in Apr 2022 as I knew this would be a popular spot. We luckily got upgraded, due to renos. We got to stay in a king cabin that had river view. So beautiful!

The cabin it's self was perfect. Little kitchen, big king sized bed, heated bathroom floors, fireplace.

Lots of places to walk to by the water. You could probably walk to Jaspers main street, but we ended up just driving. It was pretty cold. We saw a few elk walking around too, it was wonderful.

We chose a cabin. They are quaint little romantic units with a rustic vibe. They have a small kitchenette, heated floor in the bathroom, and a fireplace. We came here for a romantic getaway without the kids, and wole couldn't have asked for a better location. Our unit backed right onto the river, and we have our our private campfire as well. If the unit had a tv, it would have been 5 star. Oh and one of the plugs by the bed has broken usb ports to plug in devices.

The staff of both the resort and restaurant on site are very friendly and professional. The restaurant is on the upper scale, but still well priced and portions are still very good. Drink prices are a little higher compared to what we are used to but that's ok.

We will definitely be back in the future, potentially with the kids this time.

We were visiting Canada from the UK, on a three week road trip. We spent three nights in a ground floor bungalow and it was lovely!
The experience began with a great welcome and complimentary drink on arrival, which made us feel very relaxed after our drive from Valemount.
The bungalow was warm and cosy, and had everything we could possibly need. It was lovely to watch the local wildlife from our balcony too. What a fantastic stay!
The only negative point was that WiFi did not reach the building we were staying in, but was accessible as you moved around the site.
Thoroughly recommend Pine Bungalows and the lovely ladies that greeted us. Thank you!

Our king cabin was beautiful and well-appointed, and the staff was excellent. The Kumama Bistro and Canteen is a pleasant surprise as well. Will without a doubt stay here again when I return to Jasper.

It was lovely to be greeted with a complimentary drink on our arrival
We spent two nights here in a new cabin by the river. Very clean with a comfortable bed and bathroom. Cozy and nice atmosphere. Each cabin comes with a refrigerator, microwave, range and coffee maker. Downside is the restaurant is reservations only for breakfast and dinner which were already booked weeks ago. Also, crossing the main highway to get into town can be scary when traffic is heavy.

EAT AT KUMAMA! I cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant. The staff are the best! They are dedicated to making sure you enjoy every part of your visit. They greet you with a warm smile, give helpful food recommendations and are timely. The food is also amazing. We went back three days in a row because we couldn't get enough. By the end of our visit we had tried everything on the menu and I would eat it all again. The patio is the best in the town and most likely the best in the province. Don't miss out on this hidden gem!

Stayed here a few weeks back and it was pretty decent. I imagine if we had a cabin it would've been a bit nicer, the single rooms were mostly clean and comfy. The pile of garbage and linens that sat in the hall for our entire stay was a bit annoying but all was made up when we hit the restaurant for breakfast. I cannot explain to you how incredible the breakfast sandwich is, amazing chef, amazing service all outside by a nice crackling fire. It really was the best part of the whole experience.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Pine Bungalows. Fabian checked us in and was so welcoming. He made sure we had firewood, looked to see if he could get us an upright grill to cook on and even took us around the grounds searching for the Elk family that visits.
The elk were right up to the front door of our cabin in the morning and we got some pretty amazing photos.
We had dinner at Kumama one night, even though we had food to cook, the menu was just too appealing.
We will be back to stay and have already told everyone how great our stay was.

Unbelievable customer service, fantastic food highly recommend eating and supporting this business.
The cabins were unbelievably comfortable, spacious and clean. Loads of wildlife right outside your door.

The second year we have been here. The cabins are nicely updated with good beds and bathroom. The rest is a little rustic. Beautiful location.

Beautiful place! Very affordable! Well worth it! People at the coffee shop is very friendly! There service was great! Would recommend and go there again!

This is a great place to relax, enjoy nature, and connect to yourself. I have been visiting Jasper since 2008, but never stayed here. We stayed in one of the river front cabins and the experience was amazing! I really didn't care about the intermittent WIFI signal at our cabin, as we were there to relax. We saw some wildlife too, including a couple of grizzlies (on the other side of the river). All staffs were extremely friendly. Great food at the Kumama Bistro too. Loved staying here. Will be back.

Really enjoyed my stay here at Pine Bungalows! There aren't a lot of private cabins that are so close to Jasper. Most are closer to Hinton. The location is great!

Check-in was quick and friendly. Welcome cocktails were given out which was a nice touch.

We stayed in the King Cabins. Overall the suite was very nice. Heated flooring in the washroom which was great. The room was clean. I love Rocky Mountain Soap Co so I was happy to see their products in the rooms.

If I were to give any feedback, it would be great if there was some sort of info packet about the resort- for example how to use the fireplace (guessing they are turned off over the summer anyway, but it was a cold weekend) or if there are quiet hours. That kind of info. Not sure if there used to be a book that was taken our due to covid.

Overall we had a great time. 2 nights was not enough. We will definitely be back again.

Booked Pine Bungalows for just after May long weekend and it was a great place to stay. The river front king cabin had a full kitchen, lots of space inside to spread out. All the cookware was put in plastic and cleanliness was of the highest standard. The staff were absolutely the best. Firewood was cheap and they would deliver it right to your cabin. The views were amazing and it is located so close to Jasper even tho the wildlife in the resort would make you feel like you're in the middle of no where. Everything about the cabin was perfect.

I booked a room with this hotel in April through booking.com. They charged my credit card right away. Unfortunately due to covid, the border was closed for us to travel. I then cancelled through booking.com and received a cancelation email by pine bungalows. The emails confirmed that my booking was cancelled and that I should receive a refund shortly. Well, that was more than a month ago. I never received my refund from pine bungalows. I then contacted booking.com. They reached out to pine bungalows by phone (no answer.) Then by email. Booking.com told me they would keep me updated and contact me for a resolution. Well, that was a week ago. Today I contacted booking.com again and after they were finally able to reach Pine Bungalows, booking.com just told me to call pine bungalows directly and give them my credit card over the phone.

When I finally talked to the manager of Pine Bungalows directly. He told me that all the emails they sent was automated. Therefore, when they say they will refund you in an email, that isn't always true. Then, he said the reason why they didn't refund me was because there was a $5000 limit they could refund daily. He didn't explain why pine bungalows never got back to booking.com or why they had completely neglected to refunded my money after I had cancelled my booking.

TLDR, They charged my credit card and never refunded my money. They were very difficult to get a hold of. I probably would have never gotten my money if I didn't jump through some hoops. No attempts for a resolution, just a lot of excuses for why their system can't process a refund.

Check your credit cards if you booked here and cancelled. They might have completely forgotten about refunding your money.

*******

I am actually shocked at the response I received from the general manager. Now I wish I could give this place a 0 star review instead of 1. The first half of his response was basically stating that there was never a restriction when it comes to border closer between the provinces. While it is true that there was no border closer for people going from Alberta to BC, there was a BC to Alberta closer. BC residence that gets caught traveling to Alberta for non essential reasons would have been fined.

ANYHOW, that was neither here or there. Even if there was no travel ban (which there was from BC to Alberta at the time of my booking.) That still doesn't excuse them for not giving me a refund. I cancelled well before my allowed cancelled date. This is a problem with neglect and oversight instead of reasons why the guest had his money held.

Also, they said they made attempts to contact me. Even though they have my number on file. They have made no attempts to do so.

*******

I just called them now to try to reach the person who responded to my post for clarification. They said that John the General manager would call me back.

I just spoken to him, and he said he will edit his response about the BC border being closed. (I don't understand why this is my job to correct him.) Also, no real satisfying conclusion, just a typical "there was an error in the system which works 90% of the time, you were that 10%, so there is nothing we will do for you expect the bare minimal, which is the refund. "

Again, check your credit card statements. I won't book with this place because they just overlook their errors and dust it under the rug. With the original direct reply, it felt like it was 100% defend and excuses and 0% sympathy and on the phone it felt like it was 70% excuses, 30% sympathy. But 0% compensation and accountability.

Oh well.

Pine Bungalows was the perfect getaway! The property is well-located to get into town, and to explore hikes and lakes in the area. Our cabin was immaculate and super cozy - the heated floors in the bathroom are a nice touch. The restaurant on site was amazing and features a nice selection of local products. The Pine Bungalows team were all super friendly and made us feel like family! We can't wait to return.

We really enjoyed our stay! The bungalow was very clean, and we loved that we had our own picnic table and fire pit. The cafe at reception is also very cute. Customer service was excellent.

Had a brilliant stay here in April 2021. We stayed in the actual lodge as we booked last minute and no chalets were available. The room was clean and spacious, with 2 comfy twin beds, a nice big tub, and a small balcony where we could relax after a long day's hike. The warm welcome at check-in was the highlight - immediately on arrival we were offered a free cocktail which we could enjoy at the firepit the staff keep going, with the view of the mountains peaking over the forest - it was that instant relaxation that set the mood for the whole weekend. The location was great, we enjoyed a walk along the river daily, and even saw some elk! It's only minutes from town but felt like a private oasis. To top it off the restaurant was delicious! Highly recommended.
21 July 2021 15:19
Pleasantly impressed. Accented in California knock-down though-out, very roomy, heated slate bath flooring, complemented with a full kitchen, right Don to the coffee maker mugs and cutlery. And no additional charges for the free range elk.
17 July 2021 19:20
Marco & Fabian provided the friendliest greeting ever upon check-in! They talked to us like old friends catching up on life.but also provided efficient check-in service, complimentary beverages and also gave us recommendations to do while we were in town. The room was so cute and perfect for a little off the grid getaway but so close to town that it was easy to get back on the grid. Amazing service & accommodations & we will definitely be back!

Pine bungalows is a hidden gem. I rented a Riverfront King with my wife. This place is amazing! First of all, the customer service was impeccable, for example I was served a mimosa as I checked in! Wow! Second, the bungalows are amazing. Rustic from the outside and inside but completely renovated so you have all the modern amenities. Bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has heated floors wow! Each cottage also comes with a nice little firepit and private parking space. Lastly, their restaurant called Kumama is absolutely delicious. The next time I come to Jasper I will definitely not hesitate to come back here. I would give it a 6 star review if it was possible. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a great rocky mountain experience without breaking the bank!
