Pita Basket Sunridge

Have been searching for 4 years for an authentic and delicious shawarma place here in YYC. This is it! The garlic sauce is actually garlicky! The owner is fantastic, my partner wanted something not on the menu and he came out and asked him what he wanted and made it for him, he also made us fresh from the oven pita. Such a nice and accommodating guy. His brother runs the one in Airdrie, so safe to assume that one is equally delicious. I come from a province that has many authentic and delicious shawarma places but when I moved to Calgary I was sorely disappointed in the shawarma game here, until now! 10/10

The food will put u on a flight straight home (very positive way) food is 20/10 bread made from scratch in place, hummus amazing, the chef is very nice and welcoming. 30/10

Very nice service and foods. The Mixed set Plate was big enough for at least 2 people. We didn’t know, so we have ordered another item. There were way too much foods for 2 of us to finish. (oh well, I guess I have my lunch ready for tomorrow)
The foods were beautifully plated. Even the Reg/Medium chicken shawarma was a very decent size. The servers found out we were there the first time and gave us some desserts for free, and they were delicious, especially the cream pie/roll.
I will definitely go back again to try other items on their menu.

Absolutely love this restaurant! Some of the best hummus Ive ever had and everthing tastes so fresh. The staff is incredibly kind, fast working and always get a a friendly chat while we are there. The wrapps and platers are full of flavor and done to perfection! Happy to find this gem

Their sweets are the worst I have ever bought from any place. It seems like they take baklawa and throw it in pool of melted sugar. I recommend you stay away from their so called sweets

This place is a true Lebanese place. They do weddings, birthdays, and event delivery. It is very popular so avoid rush hours. It is a place that is great for take out but very limited seating. Ask questions if you never had Middle Eastern food.

I love this place! We had ordered a party meal for 30 people, and it served 40+, so it was clear the quantity was not compromised at all. And regarding the taste, the fatoush, shawarma chicken, rice, hummus, each and every item was perfect to the T. We also happened to visit this place on a weekend and had their Beirut Burger meal, chicken sheesh wrap and double cheese roll for kids.our order says it all

Food was not fresh. Ordered veg falafel but it’s pita bread and filling inside was awful. Horrible experience.

Amazing and generous staff and delicious authentic Mediterranean Lebanese food. Great prices and nice music. Overall, it's a good restaurant if you're looking for quality food with large portions without spending a fortune.

I stumbled upon them on instagram as I needed services for catering. I was so happy to see a Middle Eastern restaurant that has a website with prices for catering. We then went into this location and Bilal was so helpful and patient with creativing a custom catering menu for my event. Everyone loved the food, they kept going for seconds! When we came to the location I saw they do middle eastern breakfast. I am a huge fan of brunches and for years been waiting for a location in Calgary to serve this. Hands down the best breakfast ever. My family and I come every weekend. The fooul is what makes us drive 25 mins! The cheese, meat and za'tar pies, labneh, all served with fresh bread straight out the oven and a big pot of tea. They're tea is lovely. So happy I found an authentic arabi breakfast with great customer service. Highly, highly recommend. Thank you for everything.

Loved the Shish Taouk platter! Doing justice to the name of the place, the pita breaks off smoothly and is very good. Rice and the skewer were spiced mild and good. Sides creamy mayo and hummus were on point too. The salad balances out with the rice or pita and so does the piquant pickles.

The food is just as good as the customer service, I will coming back here again! Well done, cheers!

Ordered a catered lunch for my Staff of 20. Very easy to deal with, prompt, courteous and most importantly, DELICIOUS! Would recommend!

The best shawarma I’ve had in my life. I dream of it when I’m at work and struggle to resist it’s call during lunch time. Most of the time it overpowers me, and I am always happy when it does.

The owner was so nice, friendly and the food was very good.
I had "Fattier" pie They were very delicious.
One of my friends advised me that if the owner is not there do not go because he had bad experience with the staff, but my first experience was amazing.
Next time, I am going to try their Shawarma.

My wife and I order take out on a semi regular basis at the Pita Basket for many years. We have never been disappointed.

Our usual is the Chicken Shawarma Plate to go. Of course my favorite is fresh oven baked naan bread. If you are looking for value, then this is one dish I would highly recommend to try out.

We’ve been here twice now. Food tastes extremely delicious and generous portions. Fast and friendly service, and happy to accommodate dietary restrictions. Its easy to see they take a lot of pride in the taste, quality and presentation of their food. 10/10 would recommend. Your search is over, this is the last donair shop you’ll ever need.

Really disappointed as I ordered a wrap and work at the hospital. My friend picked it up and didn't check but the wrap was breaking apart and they didn't put enough wrapping to prevent it from the sauce from leaking. First time ordering from here so very disappointed as I heard really good things about them

I ordered from Pita Basket for a party of 95 people. The food was amazing and so was the service. I will for sure order from them again for my upcoming events.

Wow! The cheesy garlic fries were so good, we also got a large beef donair and the pita was crispy and a really good size. The sauces are all delicious and quality. But the baklava I would come back for every day it was perfect. Thank you to everyone who works there- this was hands-down the best service we have had in a long time. You can tell a lot of good people work here.

This was one of the best lamb wraps I have had in my lifetime! Including the ones I make at home! Authentic, fresh and super tasty! Super impressed! Incredible!

Stopped in to grab a few donairs. The staff was friendly and quick to prepare the food. Offered some free sample baklava to try, definitely returning to try one of the platters I saw others eating.

I have had shawarma once before at a different restaurant and it was disgusting, so I was hesitant to give it another chance. Boy, was I glad I did. I have never, in my life, had fast food that was crafted with such excellence. Everything about tasted home made, down the very sauces they used. The chicken was moist and tender, and the combination of spices used in the sauces left me speechless. I could not recommend this place more, do yourself a favour and eat here!

This is our absolute favourite place to come for shawarma and Donairs! The cheesy Donair fries are to die for!

Tried Chicken Shawarma wrap, mediocre taste and freshness.
Bread is dry and the pickles has bad taste.

We have searched western Canada for good shawarma, and time after time, the experience here knocks everywhere else out of the water. The service, portions, and most importantly flavour are all top notch. If there is better shawarma in western Canada we have not found it.

Okay food. Horrible customer service. Never been treated so poorly as a paying customer. Never to return.

Food is good but online ordering needs work. I placed an order at 6: 37 PM yesterday and got an email confirmation to pick up 25 mins later. I didn't arrive until about 35 mins later and my food was still not ready. I had to sit at a table and wait. I checked my watch when I received my food and I was not out the door until 7: 26 PM. A gentleman came in and ordered while I was waiting and left at the same time as me. In fact, he held the door open for me as I was leaving. What's the point of ordering in advance if you get your food at the same time as walking in and ordering face to face? Not sure if I will return unlikely.

So disappointed with the costumer service and food quality. Firstly, I placed my order early and at the time of pick up the owner says he forgot and would make it at the moment. Secondly, when I noticed they were preparing with a regular pita bread, I clarified my wrap was with the low carb bread, I got as a replay that “That is just in the Airdrie location, the people there pay more for it, Calgary customers are cheap and don’t pay for such bread” what makes me confirm he didn’t bother to read the note in the order and didn’t take the time to contact me and let me know this location does not work with low carb bread.
Then I requested a salad, the owner indicates the employee to prepare a wrap because they have whole wheat pita bread and it’s good anyways. I took the wrap just because the employee was a nice lady and was apologizing.
Finally, the chicken was full of hard pieces, a sign that this is no fresh sliced shawarma meat from the day but from the previous one.
I hope this was just a mistake and customer service would make me think to give them a second chance. But sorry, I ain’t going back there.

My favorite pita spot in the area. Super friendly staff and excellent customer service. Food quality is fantastic. So many delicious honey treats for dessert. This spot is a must try when you're in the area.

Just had my ice cold donair delivered with a bunch of toppings not mentioned on the menu. Strait into the trash, complete waste of money. Won't order from Pita Basket again.

Sadly I had two bites of the chicken shawarma and tossed it. Weird flavors and not very authentic tasting unfortunately. The staff was friendly though and super clean inside!

I know it’s cliche to say that this place is the best Lebanese in town, but I can say with confidence that it is. I’ve lived in Calgary for most my life and nothings come close.

Their platters are second to none, so much food and amazing flavours. The price is fair and the staff is always nice. They have the best fatoush salads, and their garlic potatoes are to die for.

The staff is always genuinely friendly, and there’s always parking out front.

It’s worth the drive if you’re not in the North East.

Soooooo good. The best place for shawarma sandwiches and platters. I enjoy the freshness of the oven bread. No one else in Calgary serves fresh hot pita bread.

Quality of food is always on point and delicious. Staff are friendly and welcoming. It's very clean and the trays always seem to have a little touch to make them feel special.

Not only is this a five star rating restaurant but it took me so long to find a place that has all the food I love, and it is SO tasty! Bilal was such a kind, caring person. I am so happy I found this restaurant.

I was at Sunridge Mall with my 2 boys and my elderly Mom eating lunch in the food court. While sitting I noticed that the mall had a new place in the food court the Pita Basket. We chose not to go to Pita Basket because we noticed neither of there two employees were wearing a protective face mask nor gloves while serving food. The cash register did not have a plastic barrier around it, like the majority of places in the food court. It is a bylaw in Calgary for people indoors to wear face coverings and its clear that Pita Basket is not complying with the law. With so many other options in the food court I would imagine that Pita Basket is giving up considerable amount of potential revenue for this reason. I would love to try there food, but I want my family safe doing so. I would also like to support businesses that values following the law and its rules. It makes you think and wonder if they are willing to overlook this law are they defying other safety protocols.

Great experience and loved the food! I had to ask the guy if the final total was right a few times cause I was surprised with the total cost vs the amount of food we got! Portions are very generous and we were able to customize our plates. I will definitely be back!

The best donair place around this area. The eating area is neat and clean to the highest level it can be. The staff goes out of their way to help you have the best eating experience possible. Also I’ll be doing a terrible job at reviewing if I don’t mention the desserts are way too good.

I have yet to have a negative experience eating here. Super clean, more than friendly, atmosphere is like family. I love this place and we will be eating here as often as we can! (Donair is DELICIOUS)

Amazing fresh Lebanese food. I love this place, they have a Bakery in this location which makes there food extra fresh and delicious. The customer service, food, and prices here are amazing. Would Recommend and will be returning.

Last night was the first time we came to that restaurant. But It is surely not the last. We had a good time with the attentive service, with the superb cuisine and booze and with the modest price. We will no doubt go back there again.

Best Lebanese food in town hands down. Keto friendly. Try the Greek salad with additional chicken and ask for garlic sauce mixed in. Super delicious and filling.
