We were disappointed to find out that the restaurant was closed despite maps showing it as open and their website taking orders actively. The phone number goes to no where and couldn't cancel the order. It was quite the inconvenience to reorder form another place and get money back from the bank; It left a bad taste in my mouth. It's frustrating to have wasted our time and gas to get there only to find it closed. I hope the restaurant takes steps to update their maps listing and website to prevent this from happening in the future. The number of negative reviews piling up and with this experience, we won't be returning to the restaurant.
New owners that are not HALAl but continue to says it’s HALAL is very deceitful and they refuse to remove the HALAL signs. Why would you trust someone to make your food who are deceitful and with no integrity.
Do mot deceive the people who wants to eat halal as your HALAL sign is still in and the name of your restaurant is advertised as the previous owner’s name deceiving your customers and telling them you buy halal food. Such an awful act.
I just stopped in today to grab a small pepperoni pizza on my lunch break and it was honestly so good! Definitely get pizza here. It's right beside my work and that might be the best thing ever. It was a fantastic pizza!
Ordered the "New Tandoori" chicken pizza here twice as a walk-in. The pizzas were both extremely delicious and well crafted. One of the times they were playing some notably cool music and videos on their screen. The second time I would say they made the spices too mild for me, but I guess they were playing it safe. Both times the service was prompt and friendly. I felt disappointed when they told me they did not have very much business on a Saturday night. Please support this local business.
Misleading and untrustworthy. This business charged owners back in Jan 2022 to NON MUSLIM. They are NOT serving halal food anymore even though their name says it’s. Please don’t patronize people that lie for a few dollars in business.
Just a heads up for people looking for halal meat, the change of ownership does not serve halal food products anymore. They still advertise that they do, so please double check.
Not Halal anymore. The ownership changed last year, no proof that it is halal now. So if you are looking halal, do not visit here unless you want to eat anything. Thanks
I’ve had donairs here before and those were good. The butter chicken though was extremely sweet. So much so that you couldn’t taste anything else but the syrupy nature of the curry. I’d come back for the donairs but not for the Indian cuisine.
Chicken had hair on breading and was tasteless, breading was just deep fried flour, no salt or spices, chicken tasted like boiled, pieces are big but has no taste at all.
Just finished a 15 hour drive back home tonight, and after tackling that many hours on the road I wasn’t really a big fan of the whole cooking idea tonight. So I decided to order a donair poutine from here and after one bite Ive never tasted something this poor.the meat tastes like it was out all evening, the cheese is just one huge blob of gunk and there’s most 0 gravy or sweet sauce. I get it is 2 AM and not as busy but if you’re going to have late night hours at least serve some decent food to the people ordering. I just wasted $20 on Uber for a bite of food. Not impressed whatsoever, and I don’t think I’ll ever try this place again
We were visiting Edmonton and stumbled upon this place. Well to begin with they are Halal. Then to top it off they make desi style pizzas which was delicious. We had shawarma chicken and tandoori chicken pizza and sweets Punjabi style. It's a good place with awesome taste and the best customer service.
I ordered the donair platter and it came with fatoush salad. I ordered an extra fatoush on the side. The Salad was EXTREMELY soggy and entirely inedible/scary to attempt to eat. I don't know if it was possibly from yesterday it was THAT SOGGY. I'm pregnant I didn't risk it, money down the drain. I can't believe they would sell something to someone of that low quality such old salad it resembled my compost more than salad. The lettuce was not even recognizable. FAIL never returning here again.
Only been here twice. First time was two years ago. I had their donair platter and donair and they weren’t that good. Came back two weeks ago and the quality of their food got better. The man in turban was also really nice. Will come back again.
Best Donair Pizza in town! Their staff were friendly and their pizza is amazing! I always order their Donair pizza and that’s mg first go to Order. So delicious and with great portion! Highly recommended!
Great wings I go back every payday and I love the service with a smile. The staff always makes time to visit. My son loves the donairs and the seasoned fries See you in 2 weeks
I ordered 1 pizza, 2 burger combos and 2 shawarmas 1 regular and 1 large. I paid above 80 dollars and unfortunately as if I throw my money in the garbage. Burger tasted weird, and order notes were completely ignored. The burgers were also so messy and soggy. What offended me most was Shawarma, it looks like they didn’t have any customers for the day, so they decided to give me all the dry shawarma that’s been roasting all day; extremely dry and tasteless. I mean, if you had thrown this dry shawarma away not worth more than 5 dollars and gave me proper food, at least you would have made me feel better about my spend. My order notes for the shawarma were also ignored. It was soggy and messy. To be honest, the pizza was good, thus giving 2 stars. Otherwise, I would’ve given 0
Every 2nd Thursday this location is my wife's go to place. Best home garlic wings in the city. Super friendly people. Try it You'll go back for seconds
Im not really familliar about the donair but this guy on the front was really nice and help me to have what i want.keep a good job.thank you for a good service.
First time I went to pizza city, I ordered the butter chicken pizza. It was a bit dry, but the taste and aroma of the butter chicken was great. If they can put a bit more sauce on the pizza to make it more moist (sorry), it would be even better! I gave pizza city a rating of 4 stars.
At the time of my first visit, I didn't know what broast was (it was on the pizza box), then I looked it up and realize it is actually fried chicken. So a few days later, I went back to try their broast, and it was amazing! It is easily one of the top three on my own list. The chicken was juicy, and the breading was similar to a fish n chip beer batter. The pieces are huge, so you are really full after 1-2 pieces. The only complaint was that the bottom pieces gets a bit soggy as there are a lot of oil trapped on the tin foil.
A few weeks later, I received a response from the owner stating they appreciates my review and they will continue to learn and strife to be the best. I am not only happy that they took the time to read the reviews for improvements, but they also took the time to respond.
Sometimes, it takes more than just great taste to make a restaurant your favorite place. Pizza city has became one of my favorite restaurant, and they deserve a 5 stars rating.
Finally a place that knows how to make a proper poutine! They bake the cheese on the poutine in an aluminum container to perfection. Rare find in Edmonton, clean location.
That’s my one of the best place to eat pizza and wrap with listening Good relaxation music provide good vibes. The staff is friendly good dealing and polite specially when I yesterday night visit. Keep it up to server best food. #YEG
The food is outstanding, delicious and specially, no match in taste and flavor. Best place to order shawarma platter. We always enjoy their food whatever we tried. Specially recommended for foodies out there.
Avoid the poutine! I've had the donair and regular poutine and i've never regretted anything more in my life. First time i've ever spent $24 somewhere and immediately threw it in the trash after a few bites.
Not only was the food.you know.but the service was so mean. I felt like they were disappointed to see someone walk in and barely acknowledge anything.
Was annoyed that I had to wait for a bit to get my donair poutine but let me tell you. Best donair poutine I had. Def worth the wait and I'll come back.
Ordered some broast chicken, fries and a shwarma from here. Shwarma portions weren't great but not terrible either. The chicken is the same, not great but not terrible, needs more flavor. Fries were pretty good. The dine-in areas looked pretty nice I might add. Worth a try for sure!
Don't order from them if you are craving fried chicken. I ordered the 12 piece combo and haven't recieved the fries nor the pop that was included. Sanitation and food quality is low as well. The chicken smelled rancid as if it was fried in oil that had spoiled long ago.
On a side note, they had the nerve to ask me not to give a thumbs down on the skip the dishes application. It's quite simple, you don't want a thumbs down? Don't mess up the order.
We ordered shawarma platter. Chicken is horribly undercooked and smelled weird. Though the rice and salad has good flavour serving undercooked meat is very serious. I will not re-order from here.
First and last time walking in, bad service, even worse food. The meat and gravy taste stale, cheese is very rubber like. For $12.50 I'd expect more from the food. Absolutely not worth coming here. Redeem yourself and go to Mike's famous. Never wrote a review before but this just had to be brought up
Fantastic Donair! This was the first time I went here and I was thoroughly impressed with the service and the quality of the food. Sanitization protocols all in check.
The place was clean and shawarma was as expected although instead of putting in shawarma garlic source they just used some other source which wasn't that good.
Wanted to eat Shawarma have been missing it since last 3 years and this is the first place i give it a shot. Not bad but not exactly i what i was looking for. I like mu shawarma with tahini and creamy i found it bland and chicken pieces were kind a dry and hard.
Great shawarma, no doubt. But multiple times I’ve called in for pickup. Got there 20 mins later, which is when they started making the order. Don’t bother calling in for pickup, you’ll just end up waiting, which is frustrating.
I've only had their donairs, but I drive an extra 15 Km from the West when I want one. The pita is super soft, the filling is more than generous and the price is reasonable. I highly recommend this establishment!
Food quantity and quality for the price is not good. Compared to a place like say, firezone pizza, the donair is nearly half the size for the same price
Left the restaurant holding back tears after an employee was making fun of me and scoffing at me the entire duration of my visit. I was kind and respectful the entire time and didn't understand why he was treating me so poorly. He gave me a pathetic portion of salad, laughed when I kindly asked for a bit more lettuce and straight up said "no. " He kept glancing at me and scoffing and smirking for absolutely no reason. He thought I couldn't understand him when he was making degrading comments about me in his language to other employees. He ended up forgetting my fries but I was so uncomfortable and insulted that I ended up just walking back to my car while holding back tears. I don't know what I did to deserve being treated so poorly.
Great donair, meat is fresh, fries are great, and quick service! Update: This used to be one of my favorite spots in the city for late night bites, but not anymore. Not sure if under new management but last few times have been terrible. Most recently ordered two donairs, no cheese, one with extra onion and sauce. Both had cheese, no extra onion or sauce, and the meat is no longer shaved properly but in large chunks. Will not be ordering here again.
I decided to give Pizza City a try this evening. I recently moved to the Windermere area and have been enjoying the variety of food offerings within walking distance of my home.
As soon as I walked in and was greeted with an enthusiastic welcome. I mentioned it was my first visit and was walk through the menu.
So many options! I chose pizza tonight. I had the PC Kabab Pizza. It was delicious! It had a nice spicy kick!
Cons: The "Supreme" donair was the size of a Regular donair anywhere else. Cheese wasn't melted. The pita was cold and not warmed. It was just OK for a donair but quite expensive. Also, was told over the phone that for $25 we could get a large pizza, 8 wings, and 2 pops. The actual charge on the debit machine was over $27, and they still ask for a tip, just for pickup! Who tips for picking up your own order when we're already being over-charged?
Pros: The wings were extremely crispy and good, and against all odds, the pizza is actually quite tasty. The perfect amount of meat and cheese, and the cheese is baked to a perfect crisp. Very salty, but I like it that way.
Honestly I think I'll try the donair/pizza place around the corner in the same complex first before I decide if I'd come back here or not. It's kind of expensive, and I'm turned off when debit machines ask for a tip for no reason when we're just picking up our food and leaving.
