They sometimes don't even go through clothes you bring in

Good selection at the new location but not size diverse.

It’s better to donate your clothes rather than taking it there at least it’s going to a good cause and not profit off them, I tool about 100 pieces of clothing there and they ended up taking a few pieces of my lululemon and Joe fresh in perfect condition the Joe fresh still have the tag on the rude lady told me 3.50 i ended up taking them back and donate it.
Never again I will take clothes there.

Normally, I like taking clothes here as they are reasonable with what they sort through and purchase. Of note is today though - checking in 2 totes of clothes and being told it would take 45-60 min, and then Receiving a text saying my clothes are ready for pick up 8 minutes later after leaving the store. It appears as if they looked through the top two layers of clothes (if that) and just dismissed everything else. The second bin was in the EXACT same order. They also took nothing. While I understand that they are “looking for certain things” I think better practice would be to make sure people are inclined to bring their clothes here. Creating the impression that you are A) not sorting through the clothes at all and B) not making reasonable efforts to purchase, makes it feel like people can’t bring their clothes here. I’m no clothes appraiser but what was brought in today was treated as an afterthought. I am also not surprised by the comments of the management on recent reviews. I recommend being extremely cautious of this location as your clothes are better served elsewhere.

Worst experience ever! I believe it was the manager who was sorting through my one bag i had which i was told would take up to 45 minuets i waited over an hour & i came in 15 minuets early & watched her & one of her coworkers just stand there talking about two jackets for a good 20 minuets before i asked about my stuff that was also open on the table. When she answered she looked disgusted & said my name & was like very rude with telling me how she wil not be taking any of my things, knowing i have lulu lemon, american eagle & aritza in my bag in good quality no holes in anything but claimed there was.when i grabbed my bag of course i was upset she wasted over an hour of my time to tell me she’s not taking anything. & as me & my friend were walking out talking she speaks very loudly at both of us to ask what we were saying. Strongly recommended not giving them your business

I walked into the store only to find it in a complete state of disarray with the employees chatting behind the desk. Then I walked through and unfortunately found nothing. To my surprise, I discovered that there were multiple boxes sitting behind the counter filled with clothes that had been reserved for one of their events. I asked if I could look and the employee said no. It's unbelievable how what is basically a thrift store puts away their good finds until they feel like releasing them so that only people who follow them closely and go in on these specific events get more potential finds. I'd rather go to Value Village where they put stuff out constantly and don't make people follow events just to have an opportunity to find nice clothes. Even if Value Village does the same thing, their store is much larger and offers more opportunity anyway so that if there is events not everything nicer is immediately taken. This business is near Whyte ave and must attract some new customers just wandering in the area, but I guess the new customers aren't the priority. And if you think their Aritzia section is worthwhile, I have found better Aritzia stuff at Value Village, so might as well just go there.

Spent much too long lol shopping at Plato's today. Good selection of Spring/Summer clothing. Bought several items and so did my daughter. Thank you, Karyn, for your help and pleasant customer care. My credit card won't like it, but we'll be back!

They close at 9pm, was returned home at 8: 30pm, said it's too late for buying. There was 3 of them doing notjing. Next day they only accepted 3 items. Super furious.

Terrible customer service. All the girls were on their phones, gossiping not customer focused at all. I spent time folding the clothes nicely and they just throw all the clothes they don’t want into the bag unfolded. I will never return to this location.

Had the quickest and most pleasant selling experience on a late Friday morning at this location. The store itself is one of the tidiest and spacious Plato’s Closets that I’ve been to. You can walk around relatively easily without bumping into clothes that are hanging askew. From a quick browse there was a very nice selection of clothes that all seemed like they were more thoughtfully selected. Found a great pair of men’s Lululemon pants for $35.

Awesome place nice merch quality stuff high end name brands and love the BUISNESS they offer to buy ur decent second hand brand brand clothing or trade in ur stuff for discount on new stuff right on Plato's closet I strongly recommend you asstablishment

Went to drop off some clothes to sell (Not a lot, just one Ikea bag worth). I got there 5 after 8pm (they close at 9pm on Saturdays). The store was dead and had 2 customers aside from myself. The girl working at the counter told me they stop taking in clothes after 8pm. I called the store on the west side to check if I can take the clothes to their location instead, and they told me 8: 30 is the cut off time.it's about a 20 minute drive from Whyte Ave so I decided to wait till the next morning. The lady on the phone told me 8: 30 is the cut-off time which is universally applied to all stores in Edmonton, and said she isn't sure why the staff at Whyte would give me the wrong information. I specifically went out to go to Plato's after spending all day cleaning, and I was bummed out that my time was wasted because a) someone wasn't doing their job properly or b) their inadequate training of staff. Either way, very disappointed (not the first time) and won't be going to this location anymore.

We shopped here for the first time and really enjoyed the nice selection, I like that they carry a lot of current/modern styles, items on the racks were in great condition compared to other thrift shops I have visited around the city. We found lots of great stuff there today, the lovely lady who helped us out was wonderful to chat with! Definitely worth checking out! We will definitely be back again soon!

Have bought amazing finds here. Good place to sell, great staff. Crowded store but only cause of the location.

Every time i visit here the staff are unbelievably snotty and picky.i have sold my clothes to 3 different plato’s closets and never had an issue.when i came here the other day, we brought in clothes that were brand new with tags on.the girls working claimed that the clothes smelled like cigarettes…yet none of us even smoke ourselves.we didn't say anything and just carried on with our day.i bought a pair of gymshark leggings while i was there as well.today i go to put them on and i noticed that there is a pen mark on them.sure it’s a second hand store but how can you pass on good quality clothes WITH tags on, yet still take used clothes with pen on them.seems like there’s a theme within these reviews.

It’s not the first time where I’ve purchased something that had something wrong with it. Massive hole in lulu joggers and had it priced at $45. I mean yes I should have looked more closely at it… but my question is why are you buying ripped / destroyed items then selling them for a higher price?

Very poor customer service. Not only were we ignored, but the employees were yelling at each other from opposite ends of the store. One employee in particular, was screaming random things, running around the store and just being extremely obnoxious in general. She did not acknowledge or speak to customers as they were checking out. This made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable and caused us to leave without purchasing anything.

If you would like to witness 5 socially unaware teenagers sit around and yell at each other as if they are hanging out in their parents basement, then this is the place for you! If not, I’d suggest you shop elsewhere. Will not be returning.

Oh My Went here and stated I was concerned about ALL the bad reviews and the scottish lady said we can't buy any of your clothes! She was such a miserable woman. I amNEVER going back here!

Don’t even go to this place! A friend dropped off her clothes to get a quote. When she called them back, she was told they donated her clothes because my friend missed their call.

Terrible customer service. Don’t go to this location. If I’m going to be talked down to let it at least be at Artizia, not a thrift store.

Great prices on used brand name clothes. I like that you can bring in clothes and get cash for them too. Only thing I didn't like is that it was so crammed in there and not much space to move around and shop
