Horrible quality! When the temperatures drop below -25 I get condensation and ice. At those temperatures I run my HRV 24hr a day with moderate change in concentration build up! Would never recommend these windows!

Terrible windows. All our windows are covered in frost, ice and condensation when the temperature drops below -20. Like other reviews I would never buy these windows willingly.

Our builder used Ply Gem windows. We are having terrible issues with frost and wind coming in on two of them (last winter) and all they keep saying is "its airflow and humidity". Even though the other 30 windows in the house have no issues. The Tech didn't even look at the windows or the latches, and came to the conclusion "its airflow and humidity". How he came to that conclusion after 1 minute on a 25 degrees day in the summer is a little confusing. Terrible company that just does not want to deal the issues so they make us a fake story. Many options for windows - stay away from these people.

On the advice of our builder, we used Plygem windows 8 yrs ago. We are on our 9th failed sealed unit. No exaggeration. Terrible service when trying to get replacements. Often a new sealed unit takes 6 months or more to arrive. Twice being the incorrect size. Stay as far away as possible from this product and company. Just my opinion. *I only ever post positive reviews. Feel free to check.

Terrible company and products. I have had nothing but problems with my windows from these guys. Recommend going somewhere else to see if there is a better company.

I went in for an interview with this company, Waited half an hour in the lobby and still didn’t get my interview. Extremely unprofessional and a waste of my time. Would not recommend attempting to go for an interview here >: (

The product is terrible. Most of the interior vinyl around the windows is scratched or damaged. My sliding door shouldn’t have passed through QC and it isn’t square. It doesn’t open or close properly. I wouldn’t recommend their products to anyone

Really nice windows. EXCEPT for one that came gouged by a knife and has a smudge between the glass.been waiting 2 months for a service tech. Had 2 dates and no shows.

Francois Auger is our rep and makes our experience very easy. Even in tough times like we are currently experiencing with supply chain issues, he is always empathetic to the effects on us and our customers and is always honest with us. An awesome guy to work with! Thanks Francois!

I have real trouble getting to talk to anyone at Ply Gem! No one answers their phone and when I finally got through, I got a run around and finally gave up. Very poor.
17 November 2022 21:05
Ordered our windows July 26, then a second order was placed on Sept. 26. Only half of the second order has arrived.
The door came jamb came twisted and the door itself is cupped, the striker plate has 3/6 screws installed and looks like a tired monkey installed it.
Called to get an answer and was hung up on.

After our sales rep wouldn't leave the office to do a measurement on a window HES NEVER HEARD OF BEFORE (Its a bow window, extremely common) they made us do all the measurements over a 3 month span.
Window showed up today 1.5" too big.

This company had to change its name because of legal issues and outstanding lawsuits. There was a case in which 25 million was to be settled. They produce low quality windows and doors. Companies like Excel Homes use this garbage. Always do your homework before making big purchases and always remember you get what you pay for. Low prices typically result in low quality results.

I would give this company a zero star if I could. The customer service is non existent and they do not stand by their product. Long story short my front window only 5 yrs old got condensation inside and cracked. I found out from the home builder it was a Ply Gem and it should be under warranty. I contracted Ply Gem and they were rude from the beginning. The receptionist was rude and the service man that came out pretty much called me a liar and said the home builder should not have told me it was warrantied. I had another company replace my window as Ply-Gem stated it wasn't a warranty issue so I went with another company who has stellar customer service. Once they started to remove the window he was telling his apprentice everything that was wrong with the window and the worst which caused the broken seal, which caused moisture, which caused it to crack, was that the window was shimmed on all four sides which is incorrect as it needs room to move. This was brought up to Doug at Lethbridge Ply-Gem who then accused the installers and said they only provide product. Then through investigation of my home builder it came out Ply-Gem provided a fully sealed unit and this was their warranty issue. Doug D from Lethbridge phoned me and apologized and said we would have to figure out payment as I already had it replaced and he was thinking a gift certificate as they cant do cash. I said perfect a prepaid visa would work. He said he would get back to me but never did. After a few weeks of ghosting me Doug refers me to his Calgary office as it is out of his hands. How? I have been sent now to three separate people at the Calgary office and only have gotten voice mails with no return calls. Now it has been a couple weeks and I am beginning the paperwork for small claims court. Do NOT PURCHASE from this company, you will regret it.

I've now had Ply Gem come to my place a few times for service calls for a screen door fastener and window sliders. The technician Reynold Figorla is so capable, professional and quick. Ply Gem is fortunate to have such a great team member.

Excellent windows great product but they installed some of the windows incorrectly, they're crooked and Plygem wouldn't do anything to fix them.

Wanted to share my most recent experience with Plygem. We recently completed a full renovation of our house and garage addition. We ended up replacing all of our windows in both the house and garage including our doors. Well over the 20K mark was spent with this company and the windows are less than a yr old.

With the most recent heat wave our office window cracked from the intense heat so we contacted the company to see what options we would have and what they would recommend we do. No options were given as part of the very unprofessional email from the sales manager Joe McDonald stating that the window crack was our fault. He suggested that one of his staff could send us the warranty and how it would be void because of the apparent blind we had behind the window.

This was the 1st and only communication we have received from Joe or anyone else in this company on this matter. I will never use this company again and recommend that anyone else consider these types of reviews before considering Plygem. Worst customer service ever from Joe and his group.

Go Lux…I will

Very disappointed. I spent a lot off Money on window. It’s triple glass and tented windows and black metal from outside. But last your in COVID plygem guys installed the all screens. But all screens are smaller in size. When I open the windows it’s fell down. Pls advise. Last year I contact them but no one replied.
24 July 2021 6:46
Must be nice 2 be so busy that you don't need any more work. How hard would it be 2 put SHOWROOM CLOSED DO 2 COVID on your web page. Don't see redoing my windows & siding with your product.
20 December 2020 7:28
I would not recommend buying anything from these guys, zero service after the fact, I have replaced all my windows with plygem and now that one has lost its seal, no one even answers their phone, multiple messages left not one call returned. I understand these are trying times but not returning calls is unexceptable.
27 October 2020 6:56
Run away as fast as you can from this company. Check with your home builder, and if they work with plygem, do not buy the house.
11 October 2020 21:59
Amazing service and the doors and windows have uplifted the look and feel of my house. All around I recommend Plygem windows to anyone looking to update their Windows and doors.

I replaced All second floor with tripple glass Gienow windows.
First floor still has original windows, (slightly poorly installed by builder, it looks like All Weather's product) which are 100% on the way to be done, hopefully soon.
(Next year probably). Mainly because of that incredible difference in temeratures between floors, that appeared after new windows were installed especially when furnace is on.
Every evening my wife has to switch it to 15-16 °C for night time, cause its 20-23°C on 2nd floor and 14-17 °C on 1st, feel quite chilly or
even cold on main level vs to very warm, or, sometimes even really hot in bedrooms at night time if it was forgotten to be set to lower tempererature before going to sleep.
Its a great windows! Its been couple years since we've got tripple glass installed. Never regreted once! Very quiet too.
Highly Recommend to everybody!
Definitely need main level windows to be done!
Thanks a lot for awesome Product, Gienow!
Installers were second to none by the quality of service, knowledge of all aspects & outcomes. Finishing looks perfect! Their professionalism is top level once or ever!
(Can be gained only through many years of experience foresure!)
Very gratefull!
Thank you guys!

Good services and good product. They take care for the products they sell from the factory to the job site.
30 July 2020 18:22
Our initial experience with them was very good. We have a window with a factory defect and an appointment was made promptly. The day of the service call the workers came to replace the window and the replacement window was cracked so it couldn't be fixed. About a week later I got a call to set up another service appointment. I missed the call because I was working. When I called back no one answered so I left a message. I waited a couple weeks and nothing. So I called again and left another message. Still nothing. So I went online and sent an email asking to please be contacted so we can set up another appointment. Still nothing. I feel as though we are being completely ignored and that plygem has absolutely no intention of replacing our window which has a defect that should have been noticed before it was even installed. We are completely unsatisfied and I would have given 1 star except that the men that came to change the window were very nice an apologetic about the mistake and broken replacement window.

Horrible customer service! Called the 800 number was told i had the wrong number. Well there's only one number on the site. She put me through to the correct line, it rang and then I got cut off. Had to call back she put me through again. The line rings and just forced to leave a message. So I did. I missed the call from Sara and was told to just email them. No call back number or anything. I couldn't talk to a single person. Needless to say I took my business elsewhere and suggest you do the same. Tisk tisk, I'll never buy another Plygem product again!
16 January 2020 7:54
No Equality at workplace and poor relationships and cheap products don’t buy anything from them
23 November 2019 15:20
Have used them for warranty issues related to the windows (two windows had sealed unit failures) as well as 2 other times to replace windows. They were average up until the last experience. Now, I'll never use them again, and you should reconsider using them as well.

We had a window replaced in the garage in April 2018. The window was fine at first but I noticed that it cracked on the first really cold snap we had in the winter. Window fine except for a hairline crack stemming from the edge (under the casing). This was caused by the heat/cold and is an uncommon occurrence caused when the window has a flaw on or near the edge and can not handle the temp change as it expands and contracts. I called PlyGem in March to get it replaced (never thinking it would be an issue, since the original windows had 10 year warranty). Well, they won't warranty any kind of cracks in the windows. The crack is on the INSIDE of the window (so no way a bird or something else hit it from the outside). An improperly made window will have this issue as the window expands and contracts, and it fails from the edge as thats the weakest point. Of course, they say (sight unseen) a crack could be caused by something hitting it as well. However, they just say this because they are lazy and too cheap to stand behind their product. They could inspect the window and tell if the crack originated from something hitting it, and use common sense once they see it. However, they said it's a policy and that's that. Essentially, they are saying the consumer is taking all the risk for stress fracture's.

So, that is why I would never use them again, and you should not either. They don't stand behind their product and you (as the consumer) are taking all of the risk. I've had one of their windows fail from this, so that also puts their manufacturing processes in question.

I dealt with Sarah B.from PlyGem and she was not pleasant to deal with. In the end, I said I'll go my own way. After that, she offered $107 off for the labour. No thanks. I'll take my business elsewhere and hope to find a reputable company who stands behind their product and has policies in place to protect the CONSUMER and not just themselves. It's pretty simple, and really good companies know this. PlyGEM is not one of those.

Sorry for the long winded review. I just don't know how companies continue to stay in business without standing behind their products. The only way is for consumer's to hold them accountable when they fail.

In closing, ask yourself this:
Do you really want to deal with a company that makes warranty issues so painful that customers are willing to spend EXTRA money, never to have to deal with them again? Not to mention, it took me a good 20 mins to write this review, so I'm serious!:)
05 November 2019 15:11
Great place for shopping and the price is very good I will be back for more you can count on it
29 October 2019 15:23
Don't go to buy regular windows from them, Very costly than the regular market, Same material and quality you can buy from Rona, Lowe's, or Home Depot, near to half price. Or for special Orders you can buy from BC they delivers like in 2 weeks. It makes big difference to you Pocket.
05 October 2019 18:23
I do not appreciate having to make an illegal U-turn because your drivers are too lazy to park 10 feet up the street to unload, instead blocking two ways of traffic on a single street. Rude and unacceptable. Will not be using your company in any future dealings and will recommend others don't either, as this isn't the first time I've seen this from you guys in and around downtown Calgary.

New House, Horrible Windows
New house, indoor humidity below 20% but almost all the windows have ice and condensation on the bottom. I've contacted Ply Gem and what did they say? "Let this cold snap pass and see if you have any issues with the way windows are performing". Of course I will not have any issues when the weather will be warmer. Oh yeah.and the inspection fee is $102+GST If these windows are made for warmer climate only, why are they selling these in Canada?
21 March 2019 1:17
I believe there is far superior companies to deal with, with better warranty options available. Que the generic remorse statement.
24 February 2019 22:23
Had some door hardware fail, Ply Gem was nice enough to fast track a service technician to come and fix/replace the faulty hardware. Hardware was under warranty, and service call fee was reasonable.

If I could give zero stars I would. BUYERS BEWARE! I recently went to their showroom in Calgary to buy two widows for a small home addition (which in nearly all cities and counties in Alberta requires a building permit). I told the salesman what I was looking for and why I needed them and he provided me with the windows which I purchased. Fast-forward a month and make a long story short I learned from the building inspector that my windows do not show a key energy unit which is needed to see if they are compliant with Alberta Building Code. After several attempts I finally got a hold of the PlyGem Salesman who at first did not know what the energy rating (ER) was that I was asking about. The ER ended up being less than the minimum required by the building code. When asked why they would sell windows that do not meet code his response was that these windows are for "replacing windows that do not need inspection" and that "everyone who comes here knows that" and that "it is unfortunate for me" that I was unaware of that.
To me this is misrepresentation and deceitful sale tactics. They should have had a sign indicating that these windows did not meet code and buy at your own risk. I am going in there expecting that these windows meet the relevant code.it would be the same if I had gone into HomeDepot as why would a firm of that size do this. They will not accept the return of the windows nor any responsibility (instead the sales guy was pushing to sell me more of their windows) and now I am forced to remove the windows and spend more money to get others that meet the code.
Terrible business practice. This is not good customer service.
12 August 2018 6:59
I understand why their rating with customers is so low. Was asked to wait 15 minutes, which turned into 50. One person available. Just needed a window lock latch. One piece inside of it broke (only 2.5 years old). They sold me a new one for $32! That part shouldn't be more than several dollars, maybe 10 with all middlemen included.and it's the same pathetic quality, no matter how nicely it looks and smoothly works when it's brand new. I had no choice but to buy, as no other latches on the market match it. The salesman has a look and attitude like "what the hell are you asking", without understanding that I'm not dealing with windows parts every day and don't know how their warranty works, etc, etc, etc. Gives me a look like I'm border line mentally deficient. Anyhow, if you don't have to buy from them - don't.
24 July 2018 7:48
I had a window replaced and months later same issue happened again. Was told that there was no warranty.

Doesn’t Respect your time. No Show Technician. Horrifying customer care.

Sammy the technician was scheduled to fix a door frame from 9 to noon. 4 hours past noon no show, no knock, no calls. Called earlier that day around 11: 20am and was told by Scott the scheduler that tech will call soon, nothing. Also mentioned the tech is about 30ish minute from finishing a job at that time.

Called back Scott at least 2 more times that day went to voice mail left voicemails.

It feels like the company is not really working for the customer. That specific booking was planned weeks in advanced and i am an EXTREMELY BUSY person so time is very sensitive for me. For a no show tech, there seems to be no respect to customer’s time as I postpone my business trip for hours!

In this day and age if a company doesn’t care about a customer, it’s going to be left out from the competition. Trust me I am a business professional.
03 May 2018 8:23
I wouldn’t even give this company one star! The level of customer service I received was - 0. The people that I spoke
To were not knowledgeable at all and have fun receiving a call back from anyone!
But the award defiantly goes to Monica, she is by far the best csr In town. But just know it Might take a week or two to get a simple response from this golden oldie, That’s if you even get one at all.: (
All The employees I spoke to seem like they have a huge lack of training, I can only imagine the turnover this company must have.

In addition to this wonderful customer care, The windows they install are complete garbage, they may seem good quality initially but 4 years down the road after the 2 year warrenty has expired they will start to leak and cause other issues.
Whether you are a Developer or not pls choose a different company to purchase windows from this company will only give you headaches!
