Not very often I leave a bad review but this is the second time going to this location and was given cold food. Other location have never done this I would not recommend the 17th street location. I love Popeyes but I don't like it cold
Perfect place for a GREASY MEAL:) love chipmunk girl. Her voice is funny. I would like to get my money back. I was giving this food to my son every day and he is fat now
There chicken is the best in Edmonton! But the service is terrible! It took for ever to get our order for take out, they only take care of the delivery drivers. They need training in customer service and how to interact with people. Will not be going back to this location.
First time trying Popeyes, wasn't too impressed with the whole experience. I felt like the staff weren't too interested with helping to familiarize myself with the menu options. They even switched out cashiers half way through my order. Definitely won't be craving Popeyes chicken any time soon.
I placed an order over the phone and I asked how long would it take for our order and they said it's ready for pick up so I immediately drove to pick it up. Once there, I was told to line up to pay which I did. When my number was called ~20 minutes after, I asked the crew why we had to wait long when they said it was ready for pick up and she gave me an attitude and said we could just ask for a refund. I just wanted accountability why they couldn't deliver what they had promised but I was served with the option to just refund it. I was so mad. I wouldn't wait just to get it refunded. I just wanted accountability but they couldn't give it. Thank you very much.
I'm not sure why, but the oil just seems to sit in the "crunchy" crust of the chicken. So that seems to be all you can taste while you're eating your meal. There's also a wait when there's two or more orders.
The food is amazing here. They are so well organized especially dealing with this covid pandemic. Fast service means you don't need to be in the store very long. Very clean and very friendly staff.
Chicken not cooked properly and when I asked the manager she said even thing after seeing that it is good and change one of them. No sorry nothing looks like they don’t care for their customer.
They have the nicest staff though, especially the tall white boi at the counter. Everyone was polite and hospitable.
The chicken was really small when I went in recently. It's always been really big so idk what that was about. I've always loved their chicken but that was kinda sad.
It's really good taste and variety, clean and organized but busy over rush hours, with lot of pick ups for Skype the Dishes, Uber and others. You will be serve in less than 5 minutes with a hot meal.
Was great a year ago Getting worse every time I go Last time July 2019 never will go back Chicken was very oily dark brown dripping with oil Chicken pieces very little meat Workers low standards
But the wait for take-out is often very long. It would be nice if they would expedite orders based upon what they have prepared — we typically only order chicken, and I’ve had to wait for up to 10 minutes to get my order, while waiting for the fries or biscuits for other people’s orders to be made.
Excellent. Outside of maybe slightly high pricing, Popeyes is extraordinary. Both chicken types are excellent. Their chicken fingers are amazing, my kids (2,4 and 6) love them. They also like the biscuits. I love the Cajun fries, gravy and onion rings as well, though they are less keen on them.
This place is BUSY. They absolutely churn through orders. Go when it's busy and you will get fresh food. When it's slow you may have to wait but it will mostly be fresh, the nature of fast food. There's no drive thru so you do have to go in. Limited seating isn't a positive and parking is also a negative for this location.
The food outweighs the negatives, every one of them.
Best Louisiana fried chicken in Edmonton. The gravy is phenomenal. In fact since there is never enough fries to use up the gravy, i like to drink it! T”
Food is always top shelf. Staff are great and friendly. This place has been operating with top shelf expectations of their staff since they opened and have not lost that value or care for the pride in their products.
I needed more BBQ sauce for my chicken fingers. It got real busy so I just made do. Glad to see it's still very popular as there were few seats left as I was finishing up.
So I ordered to go and the staff offered add ons of 4 apple pies for $3 so I said yes. I thought it was ready. She should have told me that I had to wait for 15mins for the pie to be prepared, while the rest of my orders were just sitting on their counter.
Give me all the Popeye's. Starting to realize I'm reviewing a lot of fast food lately but Popeye's gets a pass. If you get anything but the spicy chicken you've just cheated yourself. Fries are tasty but typically a little soggy, ask for them crispy. Gravy is just damn good. Also have some of the best dipping sauces and highly recommend the blackened ranch if you're having the chicken strips. You'll probably be in the bathroom within 15 minutes but for a short moment in time you'll thank yourself for treating yourself to their glorious chicken.
Love their chicken, biscuit and gravy. Price is reasonable compared to other Halal fried chicken option available. Gave 4 star because of the environment. I understant cleanliness could be challenging with high traffic still they need to pay more attentuob
Fantastic. Service is fast for how busy the place is at dinner time. The prices are fair. The quality of the chicken and sides meets or exceeds expectations. The servers are friendly and patient. The kids and I now get Popeyes about once a month since this location opened. The desert pies are pretty good too. The chicken is so delicious. The only critique is that you can't get it delivered to your house. It isn't on any of the food delivery apps in Edmonton. Not having the delivery option is especially frustrating when the boys are over, watching the game, and we're having a few cold ones and can't/don't want to drive anywhere. We keep looking, but Popeyes is never on the apps. If Popeyes fixed this, they would do way more business and I would give them a 6 star review!
Excellent fried chicken and sides. Very fast service and friendly staff. Like the choice of regular or spicy chicken. Side dishes are also delicious. Two thumbs up.
Service was decent, but the food here was particularly scrumptious. The atmosphere was cozy and the restaurant was clean as a whistle. I really liked it, and will definitely be thinking of this place for future outings. Keep up the good work!
Great chicken! The only downside is that we will on the west end of Edmonton and have to travel 30 minutes to the south side or Northside to get this. I hope they open a location in our part of the city so that we can enjoy this restaurant more often. But for now it will remain an occasional treat.
The crispy fried chicken n chicken burgers smelled awful as it wasnt cleaned n washed and the fat wasnt removed from chicken. It felt like it came from the slaughterhouse n straight into the coating material and fried. It wasnt crispy at all n neither spicy, hot/xtra spicy felt like mild, the chicken wasnt cooked properly, it was somewhat raw, the oil they fried the chicken wasnt fresh, in fact quite old that I felt burning the first time I had it, the fries weren't crispy but a little burnt n too much oily, fries were supposed to be fried at a temperature where they should retain the crispness, their flavor n not absorb oil. All I could taste was pototo slices submerged in oil. The chicken sandwich has the same story. The chicken pattie was flavorful but smelled gross because they didn't trim the fat n didnt wash or clean it before frying it n coating it. And then the gravy n buttermilk biscuits, ahhh! Biscuits are suppose to be creamy n buttery n a little bit salty but they are nothing like so, in fact they are just oily n they are not dense at all. First time everything was good, 2nd time biscuits were a mess n 3rd n 4th time, everything was grossn I literally mean everything. 3rd time, I didnt eat it, came home n had some thing else.it was the windermere branch n decided to never eat there again. 4th time I was going somewhere with my husband n found another branch in Edmonton' since we were hungry, we decided to step in. I explained the whole story to the cashier who taking orders from my past experience at the windermere branch n said if I am going to have the same experience, I m gng to return my order n ask for a refund, well guess what, the experience was as awful as the 3rd time, I returned the food after a single bit n had my money refunded. The cashier was a bit reluctant first but did it afterwards. End of conversation, we will never eat at popeyes again. I don't recommend Popeyes in Edmonton.
