I have been here a few times and the beer is always great and so is the food. But this issues as of lately has been ordering and items not being brought to the table. I ordered a BBQ platter for my friends and I and they never brought the chicken that was suppose to be included. This place is amazing but I really hope they van get the staff here trained because a business is only as good as the customer service and out of all brewer's I've visited this year this one had a ton of potential as the products are amazing but the staff are dropping the ball hard.

I love Prairie Dog, have been coming for a couple years now. They are so amazing when it comes to allergies - I always ordered their classic Mac & Cheese but noticed that they recently changed the menu so it now contains egg - however the amazing service and kitchen staff made me a special egg-free version with handmade cheese sauce on the spot - so delicious! (Shout out to Nadia and our waitress - made my night!) The staff make the experience that much more enjoyable, just a perfect place for beer and some comfort food!

Good food and beers. Just popped in for some lunch and a flight. Tried the brisket sandwich with their pilsner, neipa, smoked pale ale and porter. All pretty tasty!

We drove past this establishment numerous times and we finally decided to stop in for a beverage and food. The food was fantastic and decent portion sizes, the smoked meat was delicious. Lots of different beers on tap. We like the open bar concept with long tables, there were games to pick from, pool table. The service was awesome. I will go back.

The food is really good but the service is not the best! Waitress are not friendly, they forget what you order. My friend had to ask for soda water for 3 times and it took 1,5 hours to finally get it! Also, we asked for cutleries but we’re brought more plates instead. Overall the place is not cheap for this kind of service. We were celebrating our friend’s birthday and were disappointed

Great place Eben for families, there were kids, Great beers variety of flavors of beers, and surely it is cheaper because it is the brewery

We had the brisket burger and that brisket was beautiful! Absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly and wonderful. The restaurant was bright and comfortable. 10/10 recommend!

While I do love a good BBQ and a night off from cooking, this spot offered dry chicken and poor service. On a Saturday afternoon, I would hope to see more than two waitresses. Sadly, we ran out of water early on into our meal and were checked on once unless we waved someone over. -The apple coleslaw had no taste and the cornbread was quite dry. I was hoping for a better experience overall. Perhaps it was an off day? I'm thinking they need to hire a few more people to keep up with the amount of patrons.

This place is good, you can drink and bring your baby, wow, there are many games you can play to consume time, and you can bring your baby and have a party with friends.

Food was damn good along with some tasty beers, they carry the rating.

Service was mediocre and honestly not very friendly or attentive. We sat at the bar for that and received none. The whole diatribe about no tipping required is tiring and honestly must have been done by someone completely new to the industry. Read it if you go there and try to explain how what is posted is anything else but a normally operated tip pool. It is.

Remove it from your messaging and I bet it feels less cluttered and certainly less social justice based.

If the program was so earth shattering the staff would reflect it. Our 2 bartenders (first left with no comments or passover or anything positive to say by the way) and the 2nd staff member was equally disinterested. No product offerings or knowledge, no up keep in the service and clearly no interest in doing anything above and beyond. Seems the drive for additional tips might actually enhance that.like it has and does across all other food and beverage institutions in Canada.

Again. Just my opinion. Food and beverage choices are worth the stop, the service.isn't.

Our other few experiences were good although today the only meat on the
plater that was right was the p-pork. The Ribs and brisket more fat than meat and chicken under cooked. When we were asked how it was I mentioned, as you can see, too fatty to eat this time, but there was just a standard issue apology that sounded more like.whatever. We thought we had found the best BBQ place in the south but guess we are back to Big-T's.

Decided to try the Brewery out.
There was wonderful service and, delicious food!
I'll be going back.

Great beer, had an issue with the food that they addressed right away and took off the bill. Great service, great beer, great food.

Not good! Beer is way too expensive and not that good.

Service is like the service you would expect to see when you're not working for tips just working for your wage.

Flawed concept won't be back

Great food, great beer. Time to rethink the no tipping policy as Glen was a dud. Rude and unfriendly. Clunked down items rudely like it was a chore. Generally ruined the otherwise pleasant experience. Normally I’d just give a lower tip. Here when I followed the blackboard “no tipping” he seemed annoyed and didn’t speak again. Either get the staff to buy in or get rid of them.

Always impressed with the food and the staff at Prarie Dog, they are always cheery and know their stuff. I tend to get it to go but today enjoyed the patio with my dog. They brought out water for him which is always a nice touch.

I was a big skeptic regarding trying their chicken as I brine a really good bird myself. But they blew me away with theirs. It's so moist and flavorful, it's a winner. Definitely give this place a try.

Great spot to get together with friends! We were greeted right away and found a seat on the patio. Our server was very quick to come by and greet herself. She was energetic and sold us all on the Rise of the Phoenix.
Three of us (of 4) ordered food, and mostly everything was okay. The two burgers (both Prairie Burgers) were so juicy and full of flavor, while the pastrami rye sandwich that came out was rock hard from sitting in the warmer.
We brought this to the server's attention and she was quick to bring it back and remove it from the bill.

The beer was DELICIOUS! With the different sized flights you are able to customize we were able to try many different ones they had on tap.
If you're a coffee fan the Jitter Bear Coffee Kolsch is soooo tasty!

I figured it was time to update my review! Swung by last weekend for a friend's birthday party and loved it! Perfect stop for food on our brewery crawl! I've fallen in love with the BBQ ribs and ended up having those along with some corn balls (also incredible). The patio was perfect on such a hot day and I very much enjoyed the pint of Oat of this world I had! I can't overstate how impressive it is how much you've grown your beer lineup and maintained quality, can't wait to see what exciting creations you come up with! Keep up the awesome work!

Not many positives, sat down to order at 4: 30 on a Saturday, didn’t get our food until 5: 20 and half the appetizers came out after the food. They were out of the smoked chicken and instead of telling us they were out, they just brought out the salad without the chicken and told us at the table (and tried to charge full price). Out of a signature item at 5 on a Saturday, that’s just poor management. It’s not like it was busy only a handful or tables full inside and the patio only had two other tables when we ordered. But the biggest disappointment was the beer. Save your time and money and just go somewhere else. Overpriced, under managed and unsatisfying.

Good beer, good food, and a positive inclusive environment! I really appreciate the measures Prairie Dog has taken to keep customers safe during COVID-19. Staff members are always friendly and attentive.

The corn balls are SO tasty, and the So-Cal salad is a great option if you're not a carnivore.

We always have beer when we visit (coconut brown!), but I'm intrigued by the cocktail flight.

Also, the patio is dog-friendly!

We tried Prairie Dog for the first time today. The chicken, sasauge, deep fried cheese curds and ribs were really good. We were disappointed in the pulled pork. We had it on our platter and a few people that we were with had the pulled pork sandwich. The pork was over cooked. It was very dry.

Our server didn't seem too happy to be serving us. I called ahead of time to see if a reservation was needed as we were a party of 8 and I was told no. When we arrived, the person greeting us seemed a titch annoyed that we hadn't made a reservation. I told him I just called and was told it wasn't needed. There were plenty of tables, it was weird. Not a warm friendly welcome which was disappointing for our first visit.

**UPDATE- After speaking to Laura, whom was very pleasant to deal with, we decided to accept a credit for another order. We ordered our usual, including the chicken. Everything was fantastic. I would say they have one of my favourite Mac and cheese in the city! Lost a star because they forgot my drinks in my order which was inconvenient. We will be returning for sure. ** We order from here quite often. However tonight when our order arrived, our chicken was quite literally raw. It was just not a touch pink, like normal. It was raw. When we called, we spoke to Madison on the phone and told her. She said that they've been having problems with the smoker for a week and just said to contact Doordash for a refund. Horrible service! So our dinner was missing the star of the dish. The meat. Really disappointed in the horrible service. The food being raw, I could have gotten over. I mean mistakes happen.but the fact that they didn't care and did not even try to keep us as customers is off putting. Very unfortunate.

I've been ordering the personal taster online for some time now and it keeps getting better and better. It's quickly becoming my favourite BBQ. Tender, juicy, smoky and flavourful meats. With the most recent order I was impressed with the extra attention paid to the packaging by individually wrapping items. Highly recommend.

Top notch craft beers and great atmosphere. The staff here are very friendly as well as very efficient!

I also love the fact that tipping is not required here and they are proud to say it (they have it posted on a blackboard at the bar)! More places should definitely follow suit!

I love how this place is in a warehouse and they didn’t hide that fact with the interior design.

They have a good selection of beer here and the craft beer made in-house is top notch.

We got their burger here and “the burnt pieces” (the burnt pieces was on special). Overall the food was ok. There was nothing special with the burger but I guess that is not their specialty. I found the actual burger to be dry. I was also a bit disappointed with the burnt pieces. From the photo shown on one of their bar screen it appears that the burnt pieces would have different type of meat but I guess they only had one type when we went. The sauce was a bit too much for my liking as well I wished the sauce was just one the side so you can tailor it to your taste. Again, they photo on the screen showed this to be dry….

The food is sooo good! Loved everything. Good sized portions without being obnoxious. Excellent value for money. Super friendly staff, overall a wonderful experience. We will definitely be back

The coconut brown was excellent. We shared a $35 poutine, and it's a massive platter! Enough for 4 people i would say. My only complaint is that it could have used more gravy as much of the fries were dry. The kids meals are really reasonable at $6 bucks. Too bad this place is so far from our house: - (

We tried Prairie Dog for the first time last week as we are new to the neighbourhood. My son had the kids' burger and fries which he really enjoyed. We also had the cheese curds which were delicious and could become highly addictive. Their on-line ordering system is simple and very easy to use. We will be back!

I love this place. The staff are great, the beers are awesome, and the food is so, so tasty. I'm pretty much addicted to the pulled chicken sandwich. If you're going to get fries, do yourself a favour and get the smoked ketchup to go with them.

One of our best meals! It's our first dine in experience after the restrictions in December 2020 were lifted. The place was clean, there were arrows on the floor to indicate the direction flow of the restaurant, there were partitions and plenty of space in between tables.
The staff were very friendly and one thing we noticed is other staff were checking in on us, not just our server.
Also, the FOOD IS AMAZING. We made our own combo and the brisket is our favorite. The potato croquettes were also our favorite side. All in all great food!
The beer is also nothing to sleep on. Our favourites were the Berry Manly, Little Bear, and Super B.
We'll definitely be back here when we visit Calgary!

As usual the BBQ was perfectly done, really like the brisket and BBQ pork ribs. Love the Mac n Cheese side. This is also the only place I know if in Calgary to have a selection of in house Sasion Ales, that are all delicious.

Ordered lunch for pickup. Staff was friendly, food was delicious, portions large. We loved the Family 4-Pack Combo- great value, easily fed our family with leftovers for me later.

Highly recommend the chicken sandwich. We will definitely be back to try out some other menu items and the beer!

Definitely worth a try. I was pleasantly surprised at the beer as I wasn’t sure what to expect. I understand why it won brew pub of the year. Beer was fresh and delicious. The packaging was understated for the product, which spoke for itself. Looking forward to trying more of their offerings in the future and will definitely stop in for some of their BBQ. Highly recommend giving this place a shot.

Ordered for my Thanksgiving dinner. I ordered the Brisket Sandwich with the pickled veg and Pastrami Nuggets.

Pastrami Nuggets were awesome, and the sauerkraut was a great addition and the only difference I would have made is a little more mustard.

The Brisket Sandwich was good although could have used a little more BBQ sauce for my liking. However that is a personal preference as I know people who want very little sauce with brisket.

The show stealer was the pickled Veg. So simple yet executed perfectly!

The platter and meats all tasted very good, lots of flavour. Found the cornbread to be very dry and the service to be slow. The "no tipping" policy is very strange. It gives no incentive to their employees to provide good and fast service. When we asked about where the tips go, we were told about the fund that goes towards events for the staff, but then told that no events are happening because of COVID.

I love Prairie Dog! Why?
1. Their beer and wide selection of other beverages. I have yet to have a beer here that I haven't loved. There's also plenty of wine and other beverage options for those in your crew who don't do beer.

2. Their employment philosophy is refreshing. They've got it all clearly posted on their website if people are curious. Funny thing is, even though they have a no-tip expectation, I *want* to tip because their staff are that fantastic.

3. They use their smoker to make innovative and delicious vegetarian food. *

3. Gender neutral bathrooms. And their policies on making the space safe and friendly to guests and staff is clearly marked on signs.

*Here's an idea for another thing that might be added to the menu. Smoked tofu is delicious and can be added to dishes much like bacon. Maybe that could work in your smoker? I'm dreaming of a smoked tofu and hot pickled vegetable sandwich.

Great selection of beers! We were there to fill our 2 growlers, their staff were super helpful and patient when we were scrolling and deciding on which one to pick from the menu. We decided on the Berry Manly and Paris of the Berries. We love the atmosphere and are planning to actually dine in next time!

This is the first negative review I am leaving for a place. Went here with a group of friends few months ago. We were constantly asked if we want the bill by couple of staff which seemed very odd. Food was mediocre and greasy.

We ordered pickup for Valentine's day and enjoyed almost every bite of the enormous meal we received! We only had room for a taste of each item as the dinner was so generous but everything was excellent with the exception of the chicken, which we found a bit dry. It was ready exactly when they said it would be, was packaged well. I especially loved the brisket, ribs and the Mac n cheese. I'm super picky about restaurant Mac n cheese but this was exactly what I was hoping for. Creamy and flavourful and simple without being boring. I also love to support an independent business instead of chains.

This past week was Poutine Week in Calgary so it was another great opportunity to shop local. We had poutine every night for dinner and one day for breakfast. We picked up and tipped generously every night so the restaraunt benefits from 100% of the sale with no delivery fees coming off their margins. The $35 poutine at Prairie Dog was by far the best. It was so good we had it two times! Fries, gravy, nacho cheese sauce, fried curds, brisket, pulled pork, bacon lardons and green onions!
When they say it serves 3-5 people they mean it as it is a very large serving. With COVID we go it to go and it was served in 2 paper containers. I could only eat 1/2 of one container for dinner and warmed the rest in the oven for lunch the next day. Great quality and easy online ordering with text confirmations. I can’t wait until they are open again for dining in and will definitely be back to try other delicious items on their menu. Keep up the great work Prairie Dog! You guys ROCK!

The beer menu is good, but has too many light beers & IPAs, and not enough dark beers. At least for my taste.

The food menu, however, is phenomenal! A carnivores dream!

I also LOVE that they pay their staff a decent wage, so tipping isn't required. EVERY restaurant should switch to this model.

The only thing I'd change (besides a better selection of dark beer) is that I'd LOVE to see pastured meat, from local regenerative ranchers, on the menu, with lard and/or tallow used for frying, instead of soy/canola oil. Far better for both human health, and environmental health!

Food and drinks are consistently good. They are kid friendly but I have found this to be spotty depending on the server. Once, they gave my kiddo homemade playdough to keep him busy which was brilliant! Location is convenient for us. There are games to play to keep everyone busy.
