Prairie Donair Red Deer

I don’t like giving negative reviews but I simply have to for this place.

Firstly, we waited at least 15 minutes to have my order taken with nobody else waiting. Our existence wasn’t even acknowledged. We should have left but it was my sons choice for his birthday so we waited patiently.

Then we waited another 25 minutes, at least, for the food. There was no acknowledgement for the delay. No apologies, nothing. I ordered a rice bowl and the rice was rock hard in places, it wasn’t cooked correctly. I’ve never had worse rice, it was that bad. I’m really not a complainer usually but I should have taken it back. The chicken shawarma had no taste. The poutine was average, the gyro was below average. How is that even possible that every item was poor?

All in all, considering that this was a birthday treat, it might have been the worst overall experience in a long long time. The service was awful. The food was awful. Just a bad bad experience and I cannot recommend this place at all.

Amazing food. Staff is really nice and helpful. I was going from Edmonton to Calgary in between. I stopped on this location and loved donair. Thanks to all staff. Must try

Vegetarian poutine. It tastes great! I always get it.

Washrooms are always very clean.

5-stars for the baklava! Finally! Some good baklava! 150x better than Costco! As for the donair, that was really good too. A bit smaller than I'm used to, and a bit hard to eat while driving (but all donairs are). The maple chili sauce was delicious!

Very friendly staff food was amazing. It was great to see a place have Halal products. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys donairs.

Small donair for the high price, stale bread, small portion of (frozen) meat, and a surprise upcharge ($1.50ea) for vegetables.

A baby crawling around on the floor of the kitchen is disgusting too.

Great donair stop. The dine in area is cozy and small. If you’re a friend of flavour come here. Hope the business sticks around will be a regular stop for me in my travels. Seems like a pretty cool little family runs it and takes pride in it when I stopped. Certainly worth supporting.

Stopped by when we were headed south last summer. Really good place for lunch and very fresh ingredients with lots of flexibility.

This is the best Donair place I've ever been to. Awesome food, great prices, and the staff are super kind and great. I'm so happy I found them.

Second time stopping by here and it’s one of the best donairs I’ve ever had! On top of the quality of the food, the staff is so kind and caring and the place is very clean and well kept! Highly recommend!

Awesome spot to grab a bite to eat while charging at the Tesla Supercharger (located in the same parking lot). Kid friendly with a few kids menu items and a changing table in their bathroom. Not sure if they have high chairs or not as we brought our own clamp on high chair. Reasonable prices, open late. Will definitely make this a regular stop anytime we need to charge when driving through Red Deer.

Oh. My. God.

Hands down one of the best donair places I've visited in Alberta. Today I had their Canadian maple donair combo and it completely blew me away. The flavor was incredible and everything tasted so fresh. Their French fries are great. The staff are super friendly too. I'll definitely be coming back.
