Prince’s Island is situated North Calgary. It is a sweet little park where you can go for a stroll, relax and enjoy the scenery in a quiet environment. Squirrel and birds will be your companion during your journey, since they are all around the park. There are lots of bridge to access the island and places to sit as well.
Attractions include walking path, bikers path, lots of trees (abundant shade on a sunny/warm day), children’s play park, flowing water, riverside walk etc. Family friendly, pet friendly and picnic friendly
Great place to go for a long walk. The park is very clean and the walking trails are in great shape. Good place for dog walking. There is parking in several places. If anything there could be more public washrooms.
Sometimes you need a walk down a serene park. The flowers along the pathway, the flowing lake and the green grass just what you need after a stressed week. Come with a cozy blanket and you just might find the perfect spot for a picnic
Construction on the pedestrian bridge so you need to walk around on another bridge. Great you can still get to downtown and enjoy walking along to the Peace Bridge. Beautifu park.
Wow, it's so nice here to just enjoy nature. You can set up a picnic anywhere under the trees or by the riverside. Definitely a gem. There's washroom facilities by the River Cafe. There are also bike and scooter rentals in the area. Buskers offer some music anda lovely vibe.
Nice and relaxing park in Downtown Calgary. A lot of activities there including: sports, theatrical performances, street performers. Home of an authentic River Cafe. Don't miss a "Shakespeare by the Bow" shows during the summer months
I like this park for its beauty. Well maintained. In summer, there are flowers blooming, which uplift your mood. It is beside the river, so most of the times ducks/ geese come to the park and walk freely. There are play areas for kids. Tere is a cafeand public washrooms. Overall a good place to spend time with family, to take a walk or just sit down and relax. Now a days, tha Jaipur bridge is being reconstructed. So, one side walk is recently closed
Typically a very beautiful, but busy park. I give it 3 stars because Eau Claire area is currently under major construction and it eliminates quite a few walkways and access points. Give yourself extra time to figure out where you need to be, if you are on the clock.
Suburban Calgary oasis, fit for many activities. Festivals, picnics with family and friends in addition to many outdoor pursuits. Excellent walking, biking and running paths abound. Lots of construction on the Eau Claire (South side) due to transit infrastructure being built, Prince's Island is well worth the effort required to get there.
Very nice park in the middle of the city. Very close to our house and try to go there every day for a walk. Well maintained. At times very crowded though.
A nice place in the middle of the city to kick back and relax. It was busy on a beautiful day, but not so much that it interfered with our experience. People were respectful and responsible.
What a great park! Cross the bridge, nice lil park/wading area for kids on the right, great place for water rafters, nice big plastic chairs to rest, walk up and down the small bridge that connects to the children's river (medium inclination and so easy), stairs everywhere! Wow awesome! They also sell water/drinks at the bike/boat rental place. The staffs over there are always so helpful and friendly (they can recommend touristy things to do in dt calgary lol). And the park is so close to chinatown/main downtown! So great! The whole length is probably less than 2 km from one end to the other end so it's so easy to train for a marathon.
Beautiful and scenic views, ideally located along bow river with green spaces for playing, partying, cycling tracks, jogging tracks and kids play area.
BEAUTIFUL! What a wonderful place for a picnic, or to work out.and you don't need to worry about a mask. Just enjoy being outside, safe from covid, and able to have fun. Highly recommend. Since there's nothing else were allowed to do nowadays
Wow what a day! Beautiful sunshine and flowers ready to bloom. Is you want to see the geese and all their babies now is the time to head down for a view.
Prince's Island Park is a fantastic green space in the city. It's well trafficked for a reason. It's really wonderful. I love extensive green spaces in cities and I am so glad Calgary agrees. The last time I biked through i can think of multiple strangers who shared a hello with me. Great energy.
It is a very beautiful park, it is a huge park that is centrally located. You can see the big buildings at the backyard and you can see this beautiful park on the forefront. You have lovely walking paths here, you'll also find a lot of geese here. It is so green in spring with colorful flowers. This is definitely a place you should consider visiting, it is very peaceful to be in here.
My fav park in the city. Beautiful and well maintained in all seasons. Crazy busy in the summer with locals and tourists. Outstanding place for photographing local Canadian bird life and squirrels.
So lucky to have this beautiful park right in the middle of Calgary and on the bow River. Fabulous plays for children in the summertime and great for walking and jogging with access to shops and restaurants very close by. A regular attraction for anybody that knows Calgary.
It was an eye catching park.with natures beauty.one side bow river another side park and building.the beauty doubles when you go there.i wish i could write poem sitting there in the bow river bank.miss you bow river
Very good park having children's play area which they can enjoy besides adults. Has lush green lawn and trees, etc. Has very good picnic spots with benches, has green corridor with benches for seating. Bow river is flowing on both the sides of Prince's island which adores beauty of park. Moreover Jaipur bridge joins island with downtown of Calgary inaugurated in 1994. Has fountain too. Beauty of garden is increased by seasonal flower beds. Worth visiting.
Park is simply lovely all year round. The ability to attend an event and be in a natural setting is such a pleasure. Parking, however, is definitely an issue.
Pretty place to hang out provided the weather is good. You will see a lot of ducks, birds, and scenic views. Don't forget to walk from the lake bridge (with fountain view) to the red color peace bridge. A serene environment, brings you closer to nature.
A staple in Calgary. Ample space occasionally filled with festivals and events. You can find a quiet spot or take a stroll through the pathways. My favourite is the wetland ponds because of the beaver!
A unique park in the way that is surrounded by the center of the city and all its craziness yet has the nature feel to it along with the waters (Bow river), gardens, modest trails, a futuristic bridge and a restaurant (River Cafe) in the center of the park.
Prince's Island Park is a little piece of nature in the middle of the Bow River just north of the Aux Claire neighborhood in downtown Calgary. It hosts many of Calgary's outdoor concerts and festivals.
Adjacent to the new Aux Claire Park and the pedestrian 'Peace' Bridge it is soon to be connected by Calgary's expanding "Riverwalk" to allow pedestrians and cyclists to roam from trendy Kensington, in the west, to Fort Calgary in the east.
Clean (except when geese decide it's their toilet) and vibrant park. Has a playground for kids and often has music or plays going on. Also good for Pokemon go players.
