4th Late Package in The Span of two weeks Purolator really lives up too there name puro-LATOR
Not to mention this has been common practice for many years Every package I've Had this displeasure of being forced to use them has been late.

Choose any other postal option even if there cheaper it is 100 percent not worth your time.

I generally don't publish reviews, but I am compelled to today. I ordered three items from the same company in early August. The company shipped one of the packages by FedEx and the other two (the important pieces) by Purolator. No idea why. Two weeks later we were evacuated from the NWT.

The next day we were notified that the package sent through FedEx had been shipped. I contacted FedEx, explained our situation, and asked if the package could be redirected for us to either pick it up or have it delivered to where we were staying in Edmonton. No problem. They arranged for it to be forwarded to a nearby Staples store and I picked it up without issue.

Five days after being evacuated the remaining two packages were shipped through Purolator. Because the contents of those packages were items that would make my forced remote working situation incredibly easier, I immediately called Purolator customer service, explained my situation, and asked to redirect the packages to my temporary address in Edmonton. The representative was sympathetic, but said there would be no way the depot would be able to find my packages to redirect them, that it could take weeks, and we'd likely be home by then.

The next day I tried using the Purolator Chat feature and through there I was at least able to submit a formal request to redirect the packages and provided the address to redirect them to. The request was confirmed received, but would take a few days to process before they could confirm whether they would be able to redirect the package as requested. I waited three days before trying the Purolator Chat feature again, this time getting past the AI and chatting directly with an Agent. I again explained my situation and asked to confirm whether my request to redirect my packages had been reviewed and approved. The Agent looked into it and confirmed that the request to redirect had been received, and heh confirmed that my shipment would be redirected to my address in Edmonton. The Agent also confirmed that the packages should arrive in Edmonton any day now. Note: this particular Agent and the manager he spoke with were incredibly polite and helpful, putting my mind at ease with regard to this package delivery.

My packages were scanned into the Edmonton depot four days later, and then they were scanned again into the Edmonton depot the next day. I checked the tracking status again today (two days later) and it's now showing an entry at 8: 00 a.m. In red letters from Mississauga that my packages have been "delayed in transit due to natural disaster. " I contacted Purolator through the Chat portal again and asked what's going on. A different Agent answered this time. I again explained the situation. This time, after speaking with his manager, I was told that the Edmonton depot claimed that they don't have access to my packages, that they have thousands of packages for Yellowknife, and that they wouldn't have access to them until Yellowknife opened up again. The Agent reiterated that this is what they were being told directly by the Edmonton depot. The Agent was unable to do anything to help me further and the Chat was ended.

In effect, what I'm hearing at this point is that the Edmonton sorting facility is so disorganized that they are unable to locate individual packages, packages that have tracking numbers on them specifically for the purpose of locating them, and as such they have zero interest in doing their job to locate and distribute those packages. Their unwillingness to accommodate their clients within reason is aggravatingly unprofessional and frankly has lost them a customer in me. Any future couriers that I require will be specifically requested to be shipped by FedEx, UPS, or Canada Post; anybody but Purolator.

Note: I would have done only one star, but I thought that the original Chat Agent deserved some recognition, particularly given it's not necessarily Purolator as a whole that is the problem but rather that it's the Edmonton depot that is the problem.

Horrible service and they never answer calls. Their automated phone service makes you hold for over 30 minutes and I think it is designed to hang up the call right before the time is up. Tried 3 times and the same thing. No one controls anything in Canada any more and companies still shipping and using these scammers.

Nice to have a full purolator depot in this part of town, service was actually quite friendly and helpful, their systems are modern so it's pretty easy filling in your package on the computer.

*** Edit to respond: I had tracking. I signed up for alerts. 8am to 9pm is a HUGE window and honestly isn't helpful. Driver did knock, I was at work, on the phone. I answered the door 3 minutes later and driver/truck were gone. No notice sticker left (cause if driver had taken the time to write one I would have caught him/her). I did contact after I was notified it was left for pick up, redelivery was not offered. I was basically told it was my problem to pick it up now. Sadly Intelcom is doing a better job right now then you guys are. But thanks for trying to make it out that I'm the problem. Cheers! *** No alert the driver was even coming, nothing to help pinpoint when he would arrive. When he did knock, I was on a work call and couldn't get the door. When I did, 3 minutes later, no truck or ticket left. Without even contacting me, they arranged for it to be sent to a pick up location. The notification made it seem like that's what I requested, when not once have I received a phone call from Purolator. I know I live rural, but really? Oh and apparently trying to deliver once means they will not try again and I have to pick up. I wouldn't be mad if I had at least been consulted! Oh and now I have less then 5 days to pick up. So that's nice.

I shipped a package from Edmonton to mlt they lost it and I called them to reimburse me the content they said no we are not and even the shipping fee they didn’t reimburse me.
I paid 350 for the shipping and the goods worth more than 300$.
I left a review here last time and then they responded saying oh send us an email we will help you and when I did they said no we can’t help you
They only respond here to make it look like they are helping but in reality they are not.
Give me back my money.

Our small business depends on delivery too many places in Alberta Saskatchewan and Canada. Purolator are always professional. We use eshipper.com and get a great price and Purolator does their best to answer any questions to find our packages when they are traveling and also to make our experience at their depot quick and efficient. I understand how some people can get frustrated but often I read the reviews and it's nothing Purolator could really do. We have used other shippers and would warn against anyone ever using Loomis. They don't have any customer follow up thei tracking system doesn't work, and the customer service rep was sweet to us but got absolutely nothing done and we lost $2,000.
Purolator is heads and tails above that at all times. You can trust Purolator.

If I could give zero stars I would, especially with this particular depot in North Edmonton. I got an email notification saying my package was on the truck and out for delivery at 10: 39 am, so I waited.and waited.and waited. Nothing came, I was in touch with customer service 3 times only to tell me I had to wait until 9 pm before they would do anything. Finally, at 9 pm I call the customer service phone number to learn the LAST delivery the driver made was at 7 pm and there was no update in the system. This isn't the first bad experience I've had with Purolator either.

Buzzer number is listed on address but they didn’t even try to buzz me. I was at home waiting for my delivery, but instead they just left a door tag and I had to spend over and hour of my time going to pick my package up that didn’t even fit in my vehicle so I had to borrow a friends truck. If I wanted to go through the hassle of borrowing a vehicle and picking up my package from the store, I would have just went to the store instead of ordering online. My guess is that because my package was big and heavy they didn’t want to unload it and just left a door tag.

Update - 4 years later and purolator still disappoints, was supposed to receive my package yesterday and the delivery guy didn’t leave a slip, thanks Purolator If I could give a zero I would

Didn't receive my package today even though I was at home. To top that off no delivery notice was left. Now I have to go pick it up and it'll take about 1 hour and 30 mins to get there by bus: (. I'm really annoyed.like why Purolator?

Well. I will Not Use Purolator ever again. I'm a Long Haul Trucker driver who has been on the ice roads in the NWT for 9 weeks. Upon getting back to Edmonton I needed A new License Plate for my truck to continue with my new Job. Package Was dropped off at Saskatoon terminal by noon on a Monday and sent expedited. Was expecting delivery by no later than Tuesday afternoon. Which should be easy as its only a 5 hour drive. I finally received the package 3pm Thursday. Thanks Purolator for your pathedic service and costing me 2 more days away from home.

I am not exactly sure when Purolator stopped ringing the doorbell or even knocking! I have had numerous packages just dropped at the door and he basically runs back to the truck? !? No knock on the door, no doorbell, absolutely zero communication that I have a delivery. Extremely poor customer service considering your job is delivering packages. Long way from how Purolator used to be. They use to ring the doorbell and wait to give me my deliveries……where are those people? !? !

This company is more dedicated to providing poor customer service than any other.did it snow 1cm last night? Weather delay! Is it currently snowing? Couldn't deliver because your walk isn't clear! I did the live chat and called customer support, both are no help so I sent an email explaining my issue and the reply directed me to call or live chat. Purolator when you see the number of one star reviews does it make you think there's a problem with your company or is this what you're trying to accomplish? It certainly isn't delivering packages.

Over promised and under deliver company! My packages supposed to arrived between January 4-7 but until now, January 19th still hasn’t arrived. Your support keep telling me that it would be delivered the next business day but not fulfilling their promises. This company needs to review their business concept in able to stay in the business.

I am glad I am not the only one getting the same canned excuse and run around to cover the fact they do not want to deliver packages, must be an Edmonton Purolator thing (scam).

The customer service is helpful there is just a disconnect with the Edmonton facilities. I am trying to arranging with Purolator to charge me for an additional deliver (new waybill) from the pickup depot to my sons apartment so that the Amazon purchase gets delivered as it will NOT fit in my car and is 72lbs. Why I bought w Amazon in the first place they deliver to your door, only Purolator drops the ball because.why?

I have been on the phone with them twice and so has Amazon.

AVOID AT ALL COST, had a shipment coming to me. I get a message unable to deliver due to incorrect address on the Purolator site, I checked the shippers information and it shows “Customer unavailable”. I attempted to contact customer service and it makes you do a virtual assists. I then contacted the local depot and spoke to a employee who verified my address which was correct. I then speak to someone in shipping who said that it was left and not put on the truck and that she will have to go look for it. Very poor service with no care in the world.

First time dealing with this shipping company. I had purchased some shoes from DSW and unfortunately they ship with purolator. I was out for work when they had claimed to have attempted to deliver the package. Called on numerous occasions after this “delivery attempt” for them to hold my package until I get back to my residence. Held on for over half hour intervals and kept getting disconnected, so basically my package is being returned this morning as I’m typing this and I have no refund to get. THE ABSOLUTE WORST!

Today (June 9 2021) I made sure my phone was close by all day, as I had two packages out for delivery; one from Purolator and one from another big name courier. My buzzer number is connected to my cellphone and the other courier used it with no issues to make a delivery around 10: 00am. By 2: 00pm I was curious about where my Purolator package was so I tracked it and saw they "attempted" delivery at 11: 38am and a notice was left. I didn't receive a call around that time nor did I miss a call, honestly I can't say that I was surprised, after all it is Purolator. I grabbed my notice from the front entrance on my way home to see that the "reason" was "number in buzzer is no good". Very strange considering I had another delivery today through a competing courier and they used my buzzer number just fine. It rang to my cellphone, I let them in and the package was left in front of my unit with no issues. Out of curiosity I checked the buzzer for myself (despite it working flawlessly once already today) and sure enough it rang straight to my cellphone.

Is it really that complicated to push the down arrow 3 times on the buzzing system to find my name and press the call button? Apparently for Purolator it is.

If you genuinely try to buzz and I don't answer, by all means leave a notice. But there is nothing wrong with my buzzer as your competitor proved today and I can prove over and over again myself. It's the Era of online shopping, having multiple deliveries on the same day by different couriers is not uncommon. Maybe consider this when you try to lie about why you couldn't complete a delivery, because you made your competitor look great today. It takes a remarkable amount of laziness to come up with easily refutable lies on why a delivery can't be completed.

Don't even bother responding with that copy and paste message about how sorry you are for the inconvenience and you'll try to solve it. The consistent negative reviews, specifically those regarding fake delivery attempts proves that nothing is ever done.

The worst delivery experience I've ever had, and I got a lot of deliveries during quarantine. No tracking number, no estimated delivery date, no notice before they show up, no real attempt to deliver the package. I was home when they "attempted to deliver". There was no knock, no phone call, no email. They just tried to slap their notice on my door, but they didn't even remove the cover on the adhesive strip, so it was face down on the floor. Could have easily blown away, and if it had, I would have no idea my package had ever been delivered. Now, without a car, I have to make a 15km round trip to get my package. And the phone CS experience has been awful trying to figure anything out, as if the rest of that wasn't enough to make me choose ANY other courier service. Amazon, UPS, Canada Post, Uber, SkipTheDishes. You name it, they're much better than Purolator, and it would be worth extra money to avoid this experience.

Honestly the worst company to ship with, they never deliver on time. They break things and destroy your package by tossing them at doors. When you call their customer service, you wait a while to deal with people who are completely useless and don't know how to help you. You will never get your money back even if you pay for insurance. It's all just a money grab and I tried giving them more than one chance so I shipped 5 times with them but so far only one has been okay so far but it also hasn't been delivered yet.

I live just South of Spruce Grove a 15 min drive from this depot. I have had a 1/6 packages delivered to me since January. There is either a “weather delay” or they lose the package etc. This is the most frustrating thing on the planet. Also it takes 45min to take to customer service to find anything out. I would have better luck with a courier pigeon at this point. I’ve wasted time and money dealing with Purolator if I had a choice I’d choose any other courier.

Purolator pretty much sums up what is terrible about delivery services; can't get through their call lines, terribly drivers who don't make contact at the drop off location and only leave notices (Hey Canada Post), bad pick up service at their actual locations after delivery attempts.

Honestly one of the worst delivery services in all of Canada and the For being a Canadian owned corporation it's pretty sad that they never deliver their packages and then the government would give them the rights to deliver the vaccines when they can't even make my package delivered to my house good job zero Stars if I had an option.

Rogers sent me a emergency replacement phone from Half way across the country to these guys overnite just to have it there to be put on the truck and go out first thing Monday morning.
It did go on the truck, at 8 AM and was marked for delivery that day. After waiting all day, sometime around 9PM the website changed the delivery date and stated "weather delay" despite there not being a single flake of snow falling the past 3 days. They then drove it back to the sorting facility AGAIN, to repeat the whole mess all over again.

Driver obviously coundn't do his Job and returned the package with an excuse. Amazing how the small upstart third party carriers don't have this problem.

Purolator experience has been terrible - the door to door delivery service. Not once but on several occasions. The drivers always leave a sticky note - never attempt to knock or use provided electronic door bell - no notifications pre/post delivery - always end up picking it up from local distribution centre.
Update 2 (Dec 2020) :
Another below par service from courier. Got note on door by driver saying delivery was attempted & missed and no buzzer. How untrue this is. We are at home and in lockdown. Every other service that comes thru appears to use electronic buzzer except Purolator drivers. Not sure why businesses continue to use their service when they do not deliver!

Absolutely horrible!
(Purolator Express) Parcel clearly marked "Perishable" was mishandled, spent 10+hours on the WRONG truck (""error with sorting""), and when I contacted ""customer support"" for a redirect or pick-up they threatened me with a 48-hour+ hold.on CHEESE shipped within Canada!
Charging for a ""guaranteed"" service which is not intended to be fulfilled is theft! Making matters worse, I was asked to contact Customer Care whom merely told me my parcel was not important = (
Remove your ""Purolator Express"" option, as you are incapable of, and obviously not interested in following-through with your published obligation. Also, you should be refunding those (clients) whom you've collected fees from and failed to fulfill!
covid is not a reason for failure, merely an excuse.

I've been avoiding writing this as I'm not the one to leave negative reviews, but I'm at my wits end here. I have had a package that has been sitting at this warehouse for over a week now, waiting on that last leg delivery to my home (approx. 30 minutes away). Every single day, I have gotten a shipping notification with different excuses as to why they won't be delivering my package that day, whether it be bad weather, "missed delivery", package damaged, I need to pick it up from the warehouse for some reason (it's a 91 lb bedframe and won't fit in my car) etc. Not once have they attempted a delivery, yet I've heard every excuse from them. I have spoken to several customer service reps and haven't gotten any answers as to why they have such a delay on my parcel. At this point I'm wondering whether or not I will ever get my package. Avoid shipping with purolator at all costs.

Every single package from Purolator has never actually been delivered. I have to pick it up from the depot every time. The receptionist said the driver that supposedly had my package hadn't arrived yet but was able to pull it out for me immediately telling me they didn't even attempt to deliver and just left a pick up slip at my door.

Worst courier ever, I am very disgusted and very disappointed, they had to hold my package for one week after the supposed delivery date for the mistake they made on the shipping address, they could of called me and and fix it, and the worst part, I drove 30 minutes to the distribution centre to get my package, they can't give me my package and had very bad customer service.

I was supposed to have my TV delivered today. I watched the driver pull up, away from the front of my house, did not get out of his truck and instead scanned the item as having an address issue, then he just took off. It’s obvious to see he just didn’t want to carry a heavy package to the door and do his job properly. Customer service was fine to deal with but I’ll be avoiding Purolator at all costs due to the awful service from their drivers.

The drivers do not even reach your building and just mark receiver not available. They marked receiver not available and immediately I went to my main door and there was no note too (immediately there is no way someone will take and throw your note). Just don't give stupid reasons as people are not stupid. The purolator people are also cheated as they told me there will be another delivery and I get a message you need to pickup from this location store. No professionalism at all.

Ordered from Amazon who used Purolator to be the last mile carrier. Got a notice on my condo building entrance but the driver never buzzed in to deliver my item and I was home. (I did provided the buzzer number). Called the 1888 number and waited for 30 mins each time for 2 days now They opened a case to attempt another delivery today. It's 3 in the afternoon now and they just told me I'm not getting my delivery today. They don't even know when I'm going to get my delivery. If I could pick up, I would, but I can't. This is also a service that is expected when I bought from Amazon and is what Amazon pays Purolator for. What a useless last mile carrier.

UNBELIEVABLE! I was literally going out of our unit as I heard the door bell and they quickly drive away without even trying to wait it’s not even 2 minutes! I can’t believe I was just in the washroom I know I’m expecting my package and even run for the truck as I saw them drive away! Poor service!

I ordered my brand new $1.4k+ Phone from fido and UNFORTUNATELY they ship with Purolator. This was my first experience with this courier and it’s safe to say I will be avoiding ever dealing with them again. Not only did they make a poor excuse of a delivery attempt, but when I asked twice for them to hold the package for me instead they made another failed delivery attempt? Then I called to ask them where my package was and for them to hold it like I previously asked, and they told me no problem, that it would be delivered to the nearest pickup. Then I received an email not even two hours after saying that the new estimated delivery was a week from now? So I called again and asked them what was going on and they said they would hold it at the depot, that it would be available for pickup today. I waited for the email since 10am, it’s now 15 minutes to closing time and it’s a long weekend, I have not received any email letting me know my package is there.
Absolutely unbelievable. I feel like I have been completely ignored or lied to. If you lost my package just tell me you lost it. I’m paying for a phone I don’t even have.

Purolator is a complete joke. Every other company has no problems finding where I live, but with Purolator it's a nightmare. "Your address does not exist". When they finally figure it out, they forget again. Pull it together, it's embarrassing.

Edit. The united states postal service (USPS) can even find my house. What the hell is the problem Purolator.

Called ahead to have my package held at the depot so i could pick it up first thing. Instead of holding it, the took it to its final destination then realized it was supposed to be held in at the deopt so instead of calling they took it back and hasmd to wait all day to be able to pick it up. And the next shipment was late eventhough I bought the 10: 30 guarantee

Left a message with out trying to knock says I can pick it up the next day. Went to pick it up 3 days later they said they havent recieved it yet. One of the rep said it's not her problem and should just call customer service. She has an attitude and didnt appologize for the company.

Purolator Is by far the most unprofessional when it comes to delivering parcels. My parcel was delivered to day and it is now 11: 07 pm and I found it on my front step in the snow soak and wet and the doorbell was not rung ever as I am home 24/7. All this time my parcel was on my front step it could have been stolen. I will never go through purolator ever again. I understand about what's going on in the world today but they're still no excuse for what was done.

Purolator only made one attempt to deliver parcel. FedEx makes two atempts, and UPS leaves the parcel at a nearby location for pickup after delivery attempt. The Purolator driver left a slip that said I could pick up my parcel at a location nowhere near my home. I drove to the location on the slip the next day and was told that the driver had taken it to another location, again nowhere my home or the first location. No apologies, no concern that I had to drive all over town to try and pick up my parcel. Terrible service, horrible customer service. I would never use Purolator to ship anything!

Not particularly a surprise that Purolator's service isn't on par with other couriers in the city. They've been the worst courier to deal with in three cities I've lived in.

Today they delivered a 55" tv. Knocked and dashed. When I opened the door I was met with a precariously balanced tv only leaning on one half of the door frame when there was a perfectly solid wall next to it where it would have been fully supported and wouldn't have the chance of potentially crushing me when I opened the door.

Additionally, I received a notice that the shipment would be delayed and signed up for email alerts for the package. I only found out from Amazon by checking that the package was actually on time because I got no notifications when the package arrived in Edmonton. What's the point in having email alert notifications for all status changes when they're not actually sent.
