I generally don't publish reviews, but I am compelled to today. I ordered three items from the same company in early August. The company shipped one of the packages by FedEx and the other two (the important pieces) by Purolator. No idea why. Two weeks later we were evacuated from the NWT.

The next day we were notified that the package sent through FedEx had been shipped. I contacted FedEx, explained our situation, and asked if the package could be redirected for us to either pick it up or have it delivered to where we were staying in Edmonton. No problem. They arranged for it to be forwarded to a nearby Staples store and I picked it up without issue.

Five days after being evacuated the remaining two packages were shipped through Purolator. Because the contents of those packages were items that would make my forced remote working situation incredibly easier, I immediately called Purolator customer service, explained my situation, and asked to redirect the packages to my temporary address in Edmonton. The representative was sympathetic, but said there would be no way the depot would be able to find my packages to redirect them, that it could take weeks, and we'd likely be home by then.

The next day I tried using the Purolator Chat feature and through there I was at least able to submit a formal request to redirect the packages and provided the address to redirect them to. The request was confirmed received, but would take a few days to process before they could confirm whether they would be able to redirect the package as requested. I waited three days before trying the Purolator Chat feature again, this time getting past the AI and chatting directly with an Agent. I again explained my situation and asked to confirm whether my request to redirect my packages had been reviewed and approved. The Agent looked into it and confirmed that the request to redirect had been received, and heh confirmed that my shipment would be redirected to my address in Edmonton. The Agent also confirmed that the packages should arrive in Edmonton any day now. Note: this particular Agent and the manager he spoke with were incredibly polite and helpful, putting my mind at ease with regard to this package delivery.

My packages were scanned into the Edmonton depot four days later, and then they were scanned again into the Edmonton depot the next day. I checked the tracking status again today (two days later) and it's now showing an entry at 8: 00 a.m. In red letters from Mississauga that my packages have been "delayed in transit due to natural disaster. " I contacted Purolator through the Chat portal again and asked what's going on. A different Agent answered this time. I again explained the situation. This time, after speaking with his manager, I was told that the Edmonton depot claimed that they don't have access to my packages, that they have thousands of packages for Yellowknife, and that they wouldn't have access to them until Yellowknife opened up again. The Agent reiterated that this is what they were being told directly by the Edmonton depot. The Agent was unable to do anything to help me further and the Chat was ended.

In effect, what I'm hearing at this point is that the Edmonton sorting facility is so disorganized that they are unable to locate individual packages, packages that have tracking numbers on them specifically for the purpose of locating them, and as such they have zero interest in doing their job to locate and distribute those packages. Their unwillingness to accommodate their clients within reason is aggravatingly unprofessional and frankly has lost them a customer in me. Any future couriers that I require will be specifically requested to be shipped by FedEx, UPS, or Canada Post; anybody but Purolator.

Note: I would have done only one star, but I thought that the original Chat Agent deserved some recognition, particularly given it's not necessarily Purolator as a whole that is the problem but rather that it's the Edmonton depot that is the problem.

I have never experienced such a terrible delivery service. I absolutely do not recommend. I was standing on the balcony, smoking, and I saw this Purolator drive up. I went out to the street to pick up the order (from the 3rd floor) but it is already gone, No call, no notification, just awful

Would give Purolator zero stars if I could. I had a guaranteed delivery date May 25th. I tracked my order and was out for delivery at 8am. Conveniently at 5pm there is a “mechanical” issue and my package is delayed. Was again guaranteed it would be delivered in 24 hours and watched the next day as it was out for delivery at 8am and again at 5 pm a mysterious “mechanical” issue delaying delivery until Monday. My delivery will now be 4 days late.

Waited ~8 hours by the window looking towards the street to ensure i didn’t miss the new iPhone i bought and am shipping through purolator. Mild rain intermittently throughout the day, but at 7: 30am the website said the truck was out for delivery. I refreshed page throughout the day, but no update. AT 4pm, (had been raining for over 8hrs). Website updates and informs me that severe weather had my delivery on hold until it “cleared up”. Over light rain? Zero stars for driver. I wish I could give negative ratings even below 10. I had 2 packages to be delivered which is sim cards. For 1sr I got message notification that it is missed, person contacted. However, there was no call and nothing. I picked up that 1 package. The 2nd one I never got the tracking number. Eventually I found out the number and I checked tracking. It says missed delivery I called Purolator every day till 4th day. Everyday they say that it will come and online it say resolution requires. Today is 4th day I’m still on the waiting line of 1 hr every day. I don’t know how to reach out to there owner for complain and how to get my important shipment. Bad and worst delivery system.

Having parts delivered is a pretty standard procedure. Having weather delays is normal or truck breakdowns etc. Constantly having the shipments delayed due to weather when they are on the Truck for delivery, is unacceptable. Several times when this is stated, its SUNNY and Clear outside, with perfect conditions.

One of the worst courier service providers I've had to deal with. I would have given them 0 stars if it was possible. The delivery driver claims that they 'attempted to deliver my package'. I have been at home for the past week because I'm working/attending school from home and never received a call from them or heard the buzzer go off. They didn't leave a slip either to indicate that they tried to deliver the package. And now they want me to pick it up from their ship center. This is not the first time this has happened either. If I wanted to drive to your ship center and pick it up from their, I could have just driven to the store and purchased the product from there as well. Why pay for your ridiculous service?

I paid for a delivery from Amre in the west end to my house just outside of devon. Unfortunately their courier of choice is purolator! It was supposedly out for delivery on friday and even though i was home all day, the driver mysteriously attempted delivery but couldn't because no one was home? Today, monday, the order was out for delivery but then was told that i would now have to pick up my order myself in spruce grove! Spruce Grove is farther away than the supplier in Edmonton. No common sense and now purolator is going to have to pick up that item and deliver it back to amre because i am not wasting my time and fuel to pick up that i paid for delivery!

This company is terrible. My wife had medication that is time sensitive and needs heavy refrigeration. They couldn't find the address in Leduc (Even though it's been delivered there multiple times and is the only building in the area) and rather than just call and ask, they drive the medication back to the city. Then they call her an hour before the depot closes and say the driver said the address moved but they will try again tomorrow. The box is clearly marked medication and heat sensitive. She had to race into Edmonton to pick it up in time before they close. At least they had employee of the month parking available for her as she was clearly doing a better job than the actual staff.
Trust someone else with your packages.

Bad, bad service. Tha package wasn't delivered, because they need a code to enter the building, but it is no any code box, the door is open all the time.
They sent a message with tracking number on the 6th day, but package are hold only 5 days. Are you kidding of all people?

Hi everyone, the drivers don’t care value of the packages for them its just a pack, it could be a valuable document. I am waiting for my package in my house two days, but no one attempted for deliver and they put in the system attempted for delivery receivers unavailable same day I got 3 packages from telecom express. That was my passport and I want to travel for an emergency still no idea. We paid for delivery and now we need to track them where can I pick up my package. They don’t have any responsibility and I would strongly recommend please no one use this purolator courier service. Irresponsible driver’s. Worst service ever.

SO I want to start by saying that this is the most incompetent company EVER! We recently moved to Alberta and couldn't take everything so none of our big stuff plus some of our small stuff. We bought a place and started ordering stuff we needed from Amazon. Our first order was 2 beds and a frame. Purolator didn't ship them so we called and they are sitting in Red Deer, so they tell us it will be fixed and 2 days later the frame and 1 bed show up. We call again and they say the other bed got shipped the wrong way. How do you ship 1 of 3 the wrong way. Anyway long story short the bed was never found. So Amazon being a great company gave our money back. Then we order another bed and the new bed is now a no show as well. Last we heard they were shipping it to another company for delivery. Another company are you kidding me. Oh wait next tracking message says that they missed the connection so now we still dont have a bed.

I contacted them via email and they answered within 24 hours with a promise (after my request to pick-up) that my package would be at their facility after the driver returned. It was my fault for getting in touch with them so late. The driver attempted the delivery anyway and gave me a call to update me on the status of my package and around what time he'd be back at the facility.

Honestly, reading some of these reviews has been horrifying but my experience couldn't have been more positive.

So we ordered 2 beds and a frame from Amazon. The products were coming to a town near Edmonton the date they were to arrive nothing so we called. They were all sitting in Red Deer, so 2 days later 1 bed and the frame show up not the other bed. We call again and apparently they sent the other bed back to Calgary then it was shipped from Calgary and magicly disappeared still not found. 15 days later we order a replacement as it's obviously not coming. Watching purolator tracking and it was being sent to Edmonton, tracking goes red and suprise stops working its now 2 days past due date and no sign of anything again.
How do you lose 2 packages that are to be shipped here in a row? My son is sleeping on the floor for a month cause you cant get a package delivered. Purolator is the worst shipping company! I hope that Amazon switched to UPS or Fed Ex.

The woman working there knew what she was doing and seemed it keep things flowing quickly by giving people clear instructions.

3 preferred parking space for expectant mothers? ! I thought his was a bit overkill. I’ve been pregnant 4 times and never felt I needed preferred parking. Parents travelling with little rug rats need that space more and probably not 3 whole spaces. Luckily there was lots of other convenient parking spaces

Absolutely terrible company, customer service couldn't care less about the customers.

After asking where my package was (containing medication), they don't know, nor do they care to find out. Simply told me they don't have access to their own shipments due to volume and told me to continue waiting even though it's 2 days late.

At the end of the chat, the agent asked what else they can do, before closing the chat on me while I was typing.

They couldn't care less, and I will never be returning to Purolator.

Never recommend.

The staff here are pretty amazing. They're doing their best with the Christmas rush and dealing with the pandemic. Good job. The night crew that was there on December 15! I see you! To the delivery driver that actually cared about NOT leaving my package on my step because it might get stolen. Thank you! Keep up the great work.

Worst service ever. A Purolator driver was literally outside my apartment and made no attempt at all. I was home all day but they just left the ticket to pick up my package in 5 days which is even worse. I bought TV at Best Buy but I hope that don’t use this company. I don’t know whether the driver is not good or the policy is not good but after skimming through the reviews, I think both are not good! I never want to use this company for my package again!

Worst shipper ever. Every time I buy something and the company uses Purolator I hate seeing them appear on the tracking number.

I have never actually had a shipment dropped at my condo. Every time I have to pickup at the warehouse. Their driver pulls up to my condo building opens the back of the truck looks at the packages, does not attempt to deliver or even leave a delivery notice.

Last time they delivered an item I was on my patio and watch the driver do the above. The only reason I got my package was because I walk down to the truck before the driver left and got him to give it to me.

Company also does not allow you to change the delivery to be held at the warehouse instead of delivery (they only allow you to have the item held at the warehouse after the item arrives there but before it's are loaded on the delivery truck which always happens in the middle of the night).

I've been getting expensive packages for years thru Purolator, never had a single issue. They are enforcing masks even when they are not mandatory, which is the only place I saw that does it. I had no masks with myself, and employee only asked me nicely to stay by the doors, and she'll come to me to deal with my package, no drama involved lol, which was nice

Amazon has shipping on lockdown, so Purolator needs to step it up. They don't deliver on weekends or holidays so if you buy something Friday evening and Monday is a holiday (and you didn't know), then you might not get it until Wednesday, Thursday or even Friday! So three days turns into 7

I was told two or three days. Bought Friday. Confirmation picked up Saturday. So far so good. Sunday passes, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday passes. Nothing. Thursday out for delivery. By my count that's 3+3.carry the 1, that equals 6. Six days.

They say they tried to deliver but they didn't. I had the condo entrance door ajar and a note with my name on the door saying come in and I waited for a knock, it never came. Not even a notice of attempted delivery at the entrance. My daughter has had the same problem with them. I wish Amazon would dump them. I try to steer my purchases to Canada Post if I can. No option here though. Now I have to drive an hour to Edmonton for pickup.

If you want to call them, expect to wait an hour every time. They had an error on their end which caused the delay of the package an additional day. I requested a hold at a facility and they put it on a vehicle for delivery anyways. There is no way to include delivery instructions as a receiver. Avoid Purolator. The only reason I had to do business with them was because of the shipper. I expect business accounts are the only reason Purolator can be competitive. I've had much better experiences with places like Amazon and Fedex, even Canada Post.

I was so disappointed to know that the carrier who is delivering my package is Purolator.
They never did a complete delivery to me.
Every time I need to go to the branch to pick up my packages.
Today I sit close to my door for more than Two hours when I know that my package is out for delivery, in case " if " they will knock or make a phone call, unfortunately as usual I need to wait another day and go to them to pick it up.
Why I don't face something like that with other carriers

Carrier did not know how to do the job properly, never call me or knock the door or buzzer, my wife was waiting for the urgent package in home all day. They literally just stuck the"missed delivery" slip in the front of my apartment which is the normal way they do, this is second time I experienced this situation. Don't expect this company to deliver your package on time!

Delivery is poor. I’m standing outside and the driver just jumped in a car and drove away with out calling my cell phone. I have just moved in and my buzz doesn’t get transferred to my cell phone for entering inside the building due to long distance number. CALL MY CELL PHONE DIRECTLY and I would come out to grab or! Now I have to carry newborn to go and pick it up here.
Not using these shipping services again.

Received a call to notify me that my package was ready for pickup. Got to the southside warehouse and the incompetent employee told me that my package was not ready and that pickup was changed to northside. Turned me away and WASTED MY TIME. I later found out my package had INDEED been ready at the SOUTHSIDE location for pickup and I will have to make another unnecessary trip there.

Frustrating is the only way to describe this service. Every time I have a shipment when the supplier has used Purolator, I know that it will not be delivered without issues. Today, I get an email of attempted delivery, stating "look for delivery attempt tag for instructions. " No tag left. I am at a business with hours displayed. Tracking shows that the time the driver received my parcel for delivery and his/her attempt was 49 Minutes. The problem, they left Edmonton, and was to deliver (while delivering other parcels I have to assume) to my location in Millet. ONCE AGAIN. NO TAG. Did the driver lie? You be the judge. Now I have been on hold for nearly 40 minutes and I am trying to run a business. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.and maybe consider a different supplier if they don't change carriers.

Don't expect to get your parcel if you live in an apartment. I was told my parcel was undeliverable because there was no buzzer number provided. Our buzzers are by last name, so apparently it's too hard to look at my last name on the parcel and then press the buzzer for that name. And don't bother trying to call Purolator! You will be on hold for an hour.

My sister dropped a package off at this location to send to Ottawa as overnight priority. She dropped it off on Sunday and they assured her it would be sent on Monday and today is Tuesday, December 1st and it's still in Edmonton.
Purolator Leduc.don't tell a customer you will send something if you won't actually do it!
Would never recommend anyone drop anything here to be delivered. Look for any other option!

December 8th update: Still no package in Ottawa. Purolator has really dropped the ball on this one!

Never actually attempts delivery, and it takes over an hour to contact the shipping customer service line and they don't even guarantee the driver is going to read the redelivery notice. Our building has a list of the units with the buzzer number and they don't even look at it! If I could give -5 stars I would, you always feel talked down to or disrespected like we didn't even try to recieve the shipment when the drivers don't even do their one job.

The worst delivery service in Canada hands down, and their competition is Canada post, yikes. Order a parcel, Purolator has to deliver it 8kms, instead they take it to their pickup facility which is 18kms away from the original delivery address. Zero stars, and that's generous.

Purolator is a very problematic shipping company in Canada!

They dont even bother to call during delivery and even though we were home ALL day they have still left the slip "we're sorry we missed you" - THEY have collected the money BUT FAILED to make the delivery!
I really feel cheated here. We got two other deliveries from Amazon today and both were delivered to our doorstep without any issues.

Everytime we get packages via Purolator its a headache getting it delivered to us. It's as if Purolator does not give a damn about the customers who use their services - how come you can take our money but give us very poor services? This is unacceptable service and bad reputation for purolator.

Hope this gets resolved somehow.

Twice the female driver dropped parcels at the local carwash in Warburg Alberta and I had to go pick them up. She drops parcels off here so she doesn't have to deliver to each house in town. The carwash is kind enough to accept the items and call us to let us know when to pick them up. Just lazy. Both times are from the Edmonton south Hub 3104 - 97 st.

I am waiting for package and keep tracking whole day. I did login for double check the address. End of the day it shows incorrect address no entry code.seriously? Clearly mentioned by login in their site that we have buzzer issue due to our phone number is not local, so pls call me while at entrance. Also that day my apartment main door was open whole day because its month end, so many tenants move in and out.i can see on their own site where i logged in and address is totally right. I wasted two days and then talked now with thier customer service (call was connected after 34 mins) and going to pick up once it available. Fedex and UPS guys at least try their best to contact the person.and with buzzer issue always manage to deliver me parcels. Never had issue with those two companies. Will NOT recommend this company to my family or friends. I wish can give 0.

Unfortunately echoing a lot of other reviews here.

My wife and I are both on parental leave with our newborn. We're both home every day. Received an email notification that there was a failed delivery attempt: receiver unavailable, and that a notice was left for pickup instructions. No attempt was made: doorbell was not rung, and no notice was left on our door. Virtual assistant is unable to track down the package for pickup, so now I have no idea where the package is, or how to get it. Will need to call in and try to explain that despite what a Purolator driver has entered into the system, there is nothing for me to go on.

Super frustrating.

Never received my shipping updates when signing up for them via text. Found out they tried to deliver to me 2 weeks ago? I was home and no one came, and now the package is just sitting at their office for 2 weeks without any communication. They also close at 4pm every day during the week when I work until 5pm every day. I've also been on the phone for 17 minutes on hold for a CSR to talk to at this location and I cannot imagine this small front end is THAT busy.

I was there recently to pick up a mattress. The guy who was in his 20s (didn’t look at the name) ask me something and I did not hear him clearly so I asked him again. The gestures from him were very awkward and disgusting - he might have thought that I did not know English. I suddenly got the idea that he did not have people’s skill. Furthermore, he was very rude and asked me about standing on the line as a precaution which was good but he did not follow physical distancing and other precautions (no mask) while dealing with it. He did not know anything about COVID 19 precautions other than standing on the line.
You guys do not call your customers regarding delivery which is a major drawback and your customer service is also going down by having these kind of guys.
Teach these kids some manners.

Worst shipping company ever. I have had repeated issues with them saying they try to deliver something, state they reach out to the receiver and no contact. I called in and requested them to hold the package where I can pick it up.they send it back to the sender. TERRIBLE experiences with Purolator. Their customer service is horrible as well.

The delivery driver does not come into my apartment building, even before Covid-19, he will only go to the front door. Maybe that is Purolator policy? He called and asked me "to help him bring the heavy package up, " but then when I got to the floor he didn't help me carry it up. He also had 3 other packages and was calling other peoples rooms instead of bringing up the packages. They also do not reattempt to deliver to my unit. Lots of amazon packages have been returned because I couldn't pick them up.

Terrifyingly poor customer service - always. Canada Post is a better choice as you pay about 1/4 what you pay with Purolator for the same service on the same truck You would be amazed how much "air" shipping is done on trucks - more than likely alongside Canada Post Expresspost packages. (that cost $4 ito ship instead of $17)
As of this morning they can't be reached except by waiting hours on the phone as their tracking is down, chat on the website is down, and your chances of finding out when they are delivering is nil.
