Beautiful place surrounded by mountains, beautiful postcards! A bit crowded on summer days but there is space for everything, if it is very hot it is ideal to seek some shade.
There are two areas to enter the lake at the beginning and at the end, at the beginning it usually fills up early. Super common to do stand up paddle tennis or to be enjoying the lakes in inflatables.
There are picnic tables and bathrooms without sinks (gel alcohol dispensers) but with a changing table for babies.
Panorama recommended for a field day or enjoy a quiet morning or a refreshing afternoon.
Beautiful lake in Canmore. You can spend a whole day relaxing by the lake or explore a few walking trails. There are a few picnic tables. This place is great for photoshoots. Paid parking is available. Minimum 2 hour parking is required.
Awesome little swim hole. There is even a cliff to jump off! No dogs allowed near the lake though lots of people tied them to trees and set up maybe 20 feet away on the right side of the lake as you approach!
Came here on the advice of a local Rockies resident - apparently the water temperature of the lake is about warmer than most in the area. Definitely on the refreshing side when I went in August. A simple drive from Canmore, paid parking (about $10 for 2 hours). Not many spots on the warm summer day we visited. Fairly basic toilet facilities on site. Many families paddling and swimming on the lake. If you have a camp chair or shade structure I would bring it as there wasn't much shade and quite a few ants about on the ground. Overall, a nice way to spend an hour or 2 on a warm summer's day.
YOU MUST PAY 20$ just to park for 4 hours and 50+ for the day what a rip off. If you want a not crowded easy to get to and unload lake. Just skip this lake. It said no dogs at the front yet I saw many dogs. Also water is smaller than most community parks in calgary.
Best place to spend time with family and friends. Beautiful mountains around lake. A lot of bbq tables. Toilet, child safety vests. Trails. Forest. Deers.
This is such a great dog park! It’s a huge place and there’s lots of areas to explore. There’s even a little pond for the dogs. You do have to pay for parking now which made me take a star off.
Fun little spot for family and friends alike. Lake where you can swim, paths along the way and picnic tables when you can get one (recommend going earlier during the summer days). Paid parking. No dogs at Quarry lake. Only place for dogs is by the parking lot, boulders delineate the off lease area. There's also trails for biking and hiking.
Just wanted in for a little after seeing an elk cross the road. She came in to graze. We went for a short walk and saw three more. An hour before sunset. Was a bit breezy and mosquitos around though but well worth it.
Hands down, the best dog park in Alberta or Canada even. With mountains and forest as a backdrop, it’s absolutely the most beautiful. Pass the little forest is another field which leads to a dog pond! Super cute and scenic.
Parking is for a fee now. But it’s changed from $20 flat-rate all day to hourly which is much more reasonable
Gets busy on nice days with lots of keen SUPpers, kids and sun seekers, there are toilets nearby and enough space to not feel over crowded. The parking is $10 for 2 hours, or $75 a day which we thought was excessive so we rushed our 3h10m hike down to 2hrs to meet this deadline. Safe to say we worked up a sweat! Good motivation though
If Canmore had a beach, or something similar, this would be it. The park is a nice open space to be busy with other sun bathers and paddlers. There is no sand beach, just to be clear, but the lake is good for paddle boards and such. And if hiking is more your thing, there are a nice set of trails nearby.
