We have dealt with Karen Rackel and her firm for over three decades for all of our legal requirements; house sales and purchases, estate services, guardianship orders, etc. Karen has always been very professional and her level of service has exceeded our expectations each and every time.

Stay away from Matt Pruski at this firm.

Horrible experience with a lawyer who is good at overbilling clients for work he is not asked to perform, and then gets poor results for the work he is asked to perform. A quick internet search will find this is a very common practice for Mr. Pruski. Over-promise and under-deliver. Our company which has been in business for almost 40 years has dealt with many lawyers in the past. Working with Matt was by far the worst experience we have ever had and an absolute waste of time and money.

He also made extremely defamatory comments from a previous file about one of our staff. Very unprofessional.

Too many other good lawyers in Edmonton to waste your time with this guy.

The legal team is bar non the best in their field. Karen Rackel is an amazing lawyer that knows her stuff and won lawyer of the year I believe in 2015. She gives back to the community in many ways. She has and still is representing me in a very sad time of my life. She and her team have definately put my mind at ease and have given me a sense of comfort.

Karen is an amazing Lawyer and the support staff were very friendly. They all helped us with what needed and offered further support for later issues.

I went to Raj Deol after Xmas of this year regarding what appears to be significant POA financial abuse. He took my retainer, and then he did NOTHING. We had meetings, and I called him when he failed to keep his promises about sending out a letter. I felt like I was a Mother trying to get a kid to do his homework. After 7 weeks, he had not done anything, continued to state facts about my case which weren't true, proving that he had never reviewed my file (but still was charging for reviewing it), so I said I wanted to get another lawyer. When I picked up my documents, I said that I thought there were some missing. They said they'd look. I had called specifically about a month or so later, after my new lawyer said that files were missing. Chandeep, his assistant, said she would call me back if there were any other files. I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. Twice I asked for the files; twice they had them and did not give them back to me. I had to ask the new lawyer to ask the _ for those files again, and of course, pay yet again. I decided to get the lawyer's bill reviewed, and Mr. Deol lied to the Review Officer. He said he was the one who didn't want my case anymore and IT WAS THE OTHER WAY AROUND. I could not believe it, but then he said that they had files in the office that I had not picked up. I am taking it to the Law Society of Alberta now. Do NOT EXPECT ANY SUPPORT FROM THE FIRM either. I have to say that I have not been treated so dishonestly and disrespectfully by someone who was trained to uphold the law. I am completely disgusted. I have removed the additional information I had provided from the Law Society about the status of some employees of the firm. Please check the Law Society of Alberta and the Better Business Bureau for additional information on Rackel Belzil.

The first time I had an opportunity to use the services of Raj Deol I was impressed. He was efficient, friendly, personable and knew what he was doing. Recently I required his services again and found he worked with the same diligence, and enthusiasm. His perseverance and high standards are exemplary. I would highly recommend Raj Deol and his services if you would like your case handled professionally and efficiently.

Sadly, I have had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Raj Deol. The man is unqualified and unethical. He has been caught changing the facts (to escalate a situation) on multiple occasions. Other lawyers have described Raj as "aggressive" and "bombastic". He is known within the legal community for pushing his clients to go to court (regardless of whether their case has validity). This results in huge legal bills for his clients. His priorities are making money and trying to establish his career- not solving problems in a cost-effective way for the benefit of his clients. Edmonton has ample other lawyers to choose from. Go elsewhere!
Note- The response below from the owner made me laugh! This deflection strategy was completely predictable. Trying to blame the other party instead of being accountable/taking responsibility is not a productive business practice.
