We tried halwa poori platter (3 pooris, chana, aalo and halwa). The taste was very good but the aalo one had too much oil. We also ordered Pakistani chai. It was delicious.
We had the best time at Raja foods, their buffet is worth trying, there were about 18+ dishes in buffet and the best part is tea is also included too, which for me is must after dinner. Overall it was really good, so peeps in Calgary if you are looking for a delicious desi buffet do check them out
Have been a huge fan of their weekend breakfast (halwa puri etc) but decided to try out their newly started dinner buffet. It was a sheer disappointment and a complete waste of money. Quite a few of the buffet items were not even warm, the food did not taste all that great and i believe it was not freshly prepared and to charge almost 22 bucks for this kind of quality is a rip off. There are desi buffet places which charge way less with a better food quality. Ever since this place has been taken over by the new management, the quality has nose dived.
Ordered halwa Puri, nihari, anda paratha. Everything was tasty however, place is not fancy and dirty as well. It will remind you of authentic Pakistani places
I had breakfast with my family, ordered beef nihari and Channe with naan & tea. A true taste of Pakistan! Good quantity at good price plus a quick service!
Great Place to have Breakfast, Dinner/Lunch. Friendly staff and they know what to serve in appropriate way. If you want to freak out Sheesha is available. I recommend for friends and family. Blessed to have this spot in our lovely town. Thanks.
Good place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Cheaper and good food specially Pakistani. Wash rooms and lot of sitting place. Good service for cheaper food.
Everything from food to Sheeha to customer service, Simply excellent. They did renovation related to covid 19. I feel safe sitting there and enjoying the ambience.
It was my first time visiting Calgary. Someone recommended me Raja foods for Halwa poori. I went there yesterday with my family. So disappointed after eating their breakfast. Seems like wasted my money. The food was very tastless and pathetic. The service was very slow. The pooris were oily and seems like they refried it. The pickles were missing. The halwa had no flavor. I have seen in the reviews the management is very defensive for any criticism and is constantly arguing and being rude towards all negative commnets. I think the person who is handling their social media should grow up and become mature enough to accept honest feedbacks, work on their business ethics and try to succeed. Btw I am now waiting for the harsh and rude comments from the management showing their level.
Been to several similar restaurants in town and around but in terms of Food, Shisha, ambience, service this is my favorite. I can call them and place the order in advance, it will be ready by the time I get there. My husband and I can share 1 curry order and its filling. Their halwa puri is a must have!
First thing I have no personal issue with you even I don’t know you second thing I am a customer I have a right to put the review if you thinking I did something wrong go with your legal option on my complain it’s still there the menu your restaurant team provide me there was a price mention but when the girl give me the bill there was overcharge This is called stealing customer money, (fraud). And the food I took out from your restaurant in my car then I return that same food container I returned your restaurant Try to sell another customer right front of me which is against the health and safety Specially during this Covid pandemic better you Stop fighting whit customers for reviews focus on your food quality and customer service then customers will give you good reviews, people like you is ruining the our community you should Learn some manners and stop Stealing customer money Thanks
I just ordered from the shop today and the halva puri was best in the town. The customer service was amazing and they give extra food for no cost, i would say that this is the best restaurant in calgary.
Just got halwa puri combo today. It was the best and the customer service given by girls working over there is foremost. In front of me, they handled a rude and angry customer in a very good manner.
Super disappointed, increased prices for Halwa Puri to $8.99 and reduced the size: ( I know it hard for business but its hard for people also to spend more and get less. Won't be supporting them anymore.
Excellent customer service, authentic taste of Pakistani Food and quality - Beef Nihari & Paya both has matchless taste Breakfast Serving time is very less than other restaurant
Ordered food on December 25 2020.2 plates of chana 2 plates of nihari. Nihari was old didn't look right so I called spoke to female staff (later found out she was the manager) she said nihari was made yesterday (tasted like older than that) then I asked to spoke to the manager another female staff (happen to be the chef told us nihar is freshly made today. Been going there for 15 years but never been treated like that. Also denied to gave the managers or owners number. OWNERSHIP HAS CHANGED
Very good, although Onlineattestationpakistan.com is providing a better reliable services for pcc, nadra certificates or wes hec ibcc attestation from pakistan.
I have been visiting here since 2016, this place has lost its shine. Quality of food, sheesha has gone down substantially and the place is not clean at all. It was all good till Ahmer was managing it.
The food is a bit pricy but the quality is amazing and the service is great. They always cook your food from scratch so it can be a small wait but they're always very attentive. I highly recommend this place.
Halwa puri is the best thing there, but if you’re going for a nice sitting area or great service with attentive staff and waiters/ waitresses I wouldn’t bet on it. The Owners are nice enough but I can’t say that for the other staff. Mirrors on walls were dirty even being the first customers of the day, and the waiting staff doesn’t take their time to listen to your full order before running away. Table that we were given didn’t align with the cubby seats it was way too small. Next time I would just order take out.it’s a little harsh but it’s facts.
Went to this restaurant in a big group of 22. Worst ever experience at a restaurant, I was trying not to give any start but didn’t give me such an option. The food came extremely late and in bits and pieces by the time full order has arrived food was cold, we left hungry and frustrated!
The best authentic Halwa Poori breakfast in Canada by far. People drive from all over Alberta, including myself (not being a resident of Calgary), to Raja foods in Calgary for the authentic breakfast. We like to have the Halwa poori and their tea is awesome too. Highly recommended if you are interested in having an authentic Pakistani breakfast. Since theh opened up a branch in Edmonton our number of visits to Calgary have decreased significantly.
I have been coming here for 3 or 4 years and I absolutely love their food, as everyone says their butter chicken is phenomenal so are their other dishes. Raja is one of few shisha lounges to have Herbal flavour and also use specific hookahs to certain flavors which is crucial to having a high quality long lasting shisha. Amer and the staff are fantastic and make everyone feel like at home. Spot on renovations have been done to improve the building but not change its originality. Plenty of space, another side for family settings with no shisha. You have to try it out if in the area.
Good food and reasonable price. We had the nehari with paratha and halwa puri combo. The halwa puri portion size was good. If only the nehari came with 2 parathas it would have been perfect.
