Great food and very pocket friendly drink menu staff was commendable. Hope I am spending the name right Rithika was my server she was a very friendly lady with a very sweet smile great service I enjoyed my time a lot.

Nice and clean hotel, friendly staff, location was okay but not too many amenities/restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance.

Booked a Jacuzzi King suite for the night of an event nearby; firstly the check-in was easy and the hotel was in a better/quieter area of downtown.

The room was clean, not as spacious as I expected and not a true “suite” by the definition of having a separate sitting room and bedroom; this more resembled a double queen/double bed room but with a jacuzzi in the corner. For $176 with taxes and fees (Wyndham rate - Diamond cash booking) on an “off-season” January night you could probably find better for about the same with the Marriott brand. Bedding was clean under black light, jacuzzi worked fine, clean bathroom and the oversized “mini fridge” was a definite plus. Room was quite hot though, even with the window open and outside temperature around 2 degrees Celsius it was close to 24-25 in the room.

As with most of downtown Calgary; outside of weekday business hours things pretty much shutdown. The hotel does have a pub/restaurant on the main floor but other food options are limited unless you order delivery/will travel to the restaurant. Didn’t check out the hotel restaurant, but the reviews and food seem standard fare for most 2-3 star hotel restaurants.

Overall, would stay again if I needed to; like any good chain hotel, Ramada and Wyndham deliver on the consistency of a pleasant experience at a reasonable price.

Worst hotel we have ever stayed in. Not only was it DIRTY (thank goodness we didn’t have our kids with us! EW) and so loud!
We were also wrongfully charged on our visa card for an extra $200. When I called to question the charges they accused us of smoking in the room. We absolutely did not! Disgusting customer service!

Calgary down town in winter is dead! Nothing happening in the area. This hotel is purely functional. There is mandatory valet parking - gate didn’t auto open first time we arrived. Keys to hotel room if left near mobile phone don’t work so had to visit reception many times. Temp control in room not obvs how to use. Loud neighbours and pot smoking going on so not great for family. Loud snow scraping starts from 7am in laneway outside. Prob won’t be back but it was economical.

Three stars for a three star property.
Service and location would rate good. But rooms and hallways need some updating.

Wonderful hotel. Polite staff. The guys at the reception are very friendly and responsive, they helped us a lot! The room was perfectly clean thanks to Jeannine's professionalism.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Ramada hotel recently, and it was an utter treat. We were greeted with warm smiles and great hospitality from the moment we came through the door. Catherine and Shayne worked at the front desk,  went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The attention to detail in every element of our visit was absolutely outstanding. I feel confident in stating that the Ramada hotel deserves a wonderful 5-star review for its exceptional personnel, specifically Catherine and Shayne. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!

Our experience was very bad. There was no nice greeting when we got there. We unfortunately found out that our reservation had been booked for the previous day, which was our fault, however, the receptionist was very dismissive about it. We had to ask if there were any rooms available for the night and she told us that if we could find somewhere else cheaper online we were "welcome to go there. " It felt like she was implying that we could not afford to stay there, which we found very insulting especially in front of other guests. We also had to ask about parking and were rudely told that it was a $20 a day extra charge for parking, again as if she expecting us to be unable to afford it. Upon checkout person at the front desk was again quite rude and not friendly or welcoming at all.
The room was dated, there was dust on the shelf and the tap leaked, over all not what we had expected, especially compared to other ramada hotels we had stayed at on our trip.
The only redeeming thing about our stay at this hotel was the valet who was the nicest and only members of staff that were welcoming and had a smile on their face.

Best location on 8 av SW, in the middle between cafe-restaurant and mcDonald-safeway left and right, behind are tram. Rooms cut off any convenient that should have not to ask for like kettle, bathroom doormat, free water. Breakfast are great

Room rates and no pool in operation and size of bathroom, water stains in entrance with a very hard to close door on exiting to lock

My family is trying to have some sleep here at 2am at this very moment, the pub/club downstairs is noisy as hell, two of them finally slept out of exhaustion, and the last one awake is having headache due to this noise and hesitate if to ask for room switch, in which case would have to wake the other two up at 3am and pack! If the hotel ever want to treat guest like normal human being, don’t use the rooms affected by the music noise. For those of you that want to have proper sleep, stay away from this one!

The room that I stayed in had a leaking problem in the wall so there was a leaking sound for the whole night when I stayed there. Also the shower head in the bathroom was a little broken as when I turned it on it would shoot out in two directions. The wifi was also not very good. The hotel also only has one elevator working so waiting for the elevator took a bit long. Other than that the reception was nice and the location is good.

Everything was amazing with the room, the location and staff were very friendly. The only thing I found odd was, we had to ask to have the toiletries and towels replenished and the garbage and recycling removed from the room. We stayed a week, I figured housekeeping would be scheduled at least 2 times during the week just to replenish and dispose.

This hotel is ancient and in desperate need for some renovations. The room was so dark and poorly lit, furniture and carpeting were old, and the room was uncomfortably hot (I don’t think the a/c worked). Luckily the bed seemed clean enough but the rest of the room was outdated and creepy. Not worth it for the price we paid. Felt like we stayed at a rundown motel. Also, parking spots were very tight (if you even get a spot…we were lucky).

Tiny room and ridiculously tiny washroom. The washroom was awful, they didn't clean it from before and ik because there is a long hair strand in the tub. The toilet is super small and the hair dryer doesn't even work. Worst of all you have to use all your energy to force the washroom door shut properly. It doesn't close properly like a normal door.

Had no queen beds. The room had terribly lighting, it had 2 lamps where you can barely see the room, (we were facing another wall but can't blame them cause it's downtown). Also tried to call the lobby, but phone doesn't even work. Yes there is a dial tone, but all the speed dial buttons do not work.
In addition, the room does not come with a freezer or a microwave or a safe.
Alot of the furniture has chips and the entire room looked depressing IMO
Staff was pleasant but I think they knew about these problems judging by the tone and what they did after I had mentioned it. (Nothing, they didn't note it down, atleast the time I was in the lobby)

But location was great considering it's downtown and breakfast was alright

From the start there was issues. They told me there was no parking, then there was but the spot they told me to go to was filled.
The room was clean, but worn down. Ripped carpets, missing tiles around the tub, etc.
They aslo failed to mention that on my checkout date, the next day, the entire area around the hotel would be blocked off for the Stampede parade. So I checked out, and couldn't go anywhere. Currently waiting outside for 3 hours

Called to book a room and the front desk staff dropped the call two time. I find it unbelievably ignorant & completely rude & also super unprofessional. "You call to book a room and they hung up - infact not single time, they did it two times. " What kind of customer service is that? Especially to someone whose has been a loyal customer. What poor poor customer service. I'm actually disgusted with how you did to me. The way they did it even. Just wow. I'm going to be taking this to higher authority and possibly even public and to social media. How very unprofessional. Does your manager train you to those things? Unbelievable. I'll ask myself. All good.

DON'T STAY HERE- WORSE ROOMS EVER-Booked for one night for friends, the front desk would not charge the card on file that was given even thought when it was booked I was told it wasn't an issue. They charged them 50.00 more that it was reserved for and demanded payment the night they arrived. Guest sent pictures of the room, tiles falling out of the wall and around jacuzzi, white residue all over the tiles, wallpaper ripped and buckling all across the walls, pealing from the floor up. Bed side tables damaged by water chipping and pealing, was a safety issue as well, I have stayed in cheap super 8 motels that were better. For 300.00 a night in Calgary you think they would have acceptable rooms. Worse room I have ever scene. Called from desk to complain and was told well the quests should have called us, was told that they would give breakfast in the morning. DON'T STAY HERE, They only care about the money not the quest.

There were a few issues with my room, but staff were quite friendly and helped correct them right away. Climate control didn't really work, bathrooms are a bit outdated, and the carpet wasn't in the best condition. But it's a great price for the location and you can barely hear the noise of downtown.

Visited here during the pandemic in October 2021. The hotel is quite old but very close proximity to Calgary’s city core.

The hotel’s first room had a broken heating unit so front desk offered a complimentary upgraded suite.
The complimentary upgraded suite had a leak from the bathroom above that smelled foul so they offered another complimentary upgraded suite.
The third suite was great and the front desk even sent an employee with us to ensure the mistake from the first two suites wouldn’t happen again.

I’ll give the Ramada 4 stars just because the front desk was very helpful and understanding every time we had an issue. The hotel is quite old and therefore appears to have a lot of maintenance issues.

Staff was nice enough. Failed to mention that the pool and pool area were closed. This after I specifically mentioned that I booked a pool access room.

Thermostat set at 20c. Room was 25c and didn't move, no screens on the windows so couldn't open them without bugs, getting in.

Canceled my two night stay down to one. Won't be back.

"Free" parking was nice. Good location downtown, but I feel other hotels kn the same area would have been the better choice.

We've stayed in plenty hotels on our road trip from the West to the East coast and back. This hotel could definitely use a bit of a refresh and touch up like upgrading lamps to ones with outlets/USB ports, but overall looks nice and cozy. Some things in our room looked quite new, like a "smart" mini-fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. It was on a pricier end, but we were booking 2 days before our stay and actually used Wyndham reward points for our stay, which redeem at a 2nd tier rate (15,000 points per night), there were hotels on our trip that would cost less, but would redeem at 3rd tier (30,000), so this was nice.

There is and undeground parking, but it has limited number of stalls available, so you might or might not get it, but you can try to call in advance and try to reserve a spot with the front desk. Cost is $12 per night with full in-out privileges, which is quite reasonable for a downtown hotel.

There was no breakfast included, they offer a restaurant breakfast for $16/pp, but we didn't get to check it out cause we had enough leftovers from the night before for a breakfast, and on the day of checkout we went out with our Calgary friends.

One elevator was still down for upgrade, but there are signs pointing to the no-frills service elevator, which is a good option if you are in a rush.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to experience the pool, as by mid-June 2022 the weather was still not very pool-friendly, and the hotel hadn't yet received an authorization from Health Alberta to operate it.

One thing I would definitely like to point out is the friendliness and courteousness of the front desk staff. They went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. I would like to personally compliment the front desk agent Valentine. He helped us with a few things during check-in, and also when we called the front desk asking if there was a microwave (we didn't have one in our room), he personally came up and brought us one.

We really enjoyed our little Calgary retreat before the last leg of our journey back home to the West Coast.

No continental breakfast and the pool was closed. The website and the information sticker on the room telephone said room service was available. IT WAS NOT!
No a/c in room. No screens on the EXTREMELY old windows. Bathtub looked about 30 years old with very little pressure.
Elevator took 5-10 mins to reach 6th floor but only seconds to reach lobby from 6th floor.
For the price regardless of the location.this has to be the most trashy hotel skin the downtown core.
GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Poor customer service, pool is not open but didn’t mention on the website, paid parking if the hotel parking is full, have to look around for alternate parking shower water is not running properly, no fridge, no microwave.

A good downtown hotel. We are staying here because our daily tours all start and end at this location.
The staff of this hotel are fantastic. So friendly and helpful. The rooms are traditional style, comfortable very spacious, two large double beds, well appointed toilet. Coffee machine, ironing board, hair drier.
A nice balcony overlooking the pool and the not so busy street.
There is a breakfast room open from 7 am to 11 am, and a restaurant and bar open from noon to 7 pm.

After a long flight we got to the hotel with the rental car, they didn’t have any parking spot available. We were told that they have a limited stop and it is shared with the staff.
If you have rental car don’t book at this hotel. Specifically in downtown area finding a parking is a nightmare.

Rundown, no fridge no microwave can barely move in bathroom, no available parking for paying guests, pretty dissatisfied considering they charge 145 a night. 1 working elevator, walls are super thin and could hear neighbouring guests parting most of the evening. The front day staff were not helpful and the "manager" was rude, pretty sure my key cards were deactivated by her out of spite when i complained about the parking situation. I would highly recommend staying elsewhere. I did not enjoy this stay at all.

Running water and a bed, what more could you ask for. Decent little gym to get a pump on and some cardio in, definitely works in a pinch.

I was woken up in the night because of loud banging. The front desk said it was the heating system and to get rid of the banging I needed to turn up the room temperature to the max for 10 min and then back down and it would stop. They were wrong. They are aware of a major problem yet it still exists.

Rooms were ok but a bit small for the amount we paid for. Underground parking wasn't even available when we checked in. We had to find a public parking as close as possible. They left some bottled water in the room but when I called down for more it was unavailable. Next morning when I called down requesting something else they said I would have to come down and get it. As a well known international hotel I'd expect they should be able to cater for their guests and very basic amenities. Super disappointed and never staying here again. There are much better hotels in the area. Don't waste your time and money here.

Decent hotel, location and price. The only thing that is annoying is there doesn't appear to be a continental breakfast.

For $134 a night, I was expecting the basics like a mini fridge, working ice maker, comfy bed and a breakfast. Well we got none of that. Plus you have to pay for parking, you have to pay for breakfast. The ice machine on our floor was broken. There’s holes in the walls. I will never stay here again. What a joke.

The desk attendant was more than helpful for my recent stay here! I ended up booking a stay at the wrong hotel and the front desk guy helped me figure everything out! Thanks!

We booked it only because we needed parking and breakfast. Only after reaching there we found that parking is paid and first come first serve. Breakfast is available but paid. Great you fooled us. Next time oh wait! There won't be one

Rooms are not what you see in pictures, most of the stuff doesn't work. I am sure you can find a better place in DT for same or less price.

There was no hot water till nearly 2 pm which caused me to miss work and lose money. Disappointing to wake up to cold shower

The room and bathroom were dingy. None of the elevators worked while going downstairs! Had to take the service elevator. The bathroom was a nightmare! I have given 2 stars instead of one as the complementary breakfast was the only good thing while our stay there.

The hotel was close to shopping. The staff were helpful and courteous. The room was clean. The downside is the tub silicon was peeling, the crapets did not quite meet up with transitions, and other little things that made it look like it was ready to be renovated.

The hotel is nice and the rooftop pool is great. The free breakfast was one of the best I've had until a bill came to our table. We were confused because breakfast was supposed to be included. After a confusing explanation about the bill being "taken off our room" we were able to clarify with the front desk that it was, in fact, complimentary. My only suggestion would be to not surprise patrons with a bill after a free breakfast. Otherwise, great hotel in downtown Calgary!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at!

The only redeeming factors is the rooftop pool and the location.

Breakfast is included, but the restaurant had one person working all the tables. Took 45 minutes to take our order. Worst of all they gave me a DIRTY coffee cup during a pandemic. It had a ring of brown inside that I was able to rub off with my finger.

The check in wasn’t any better. No one was friendly, and they would accept a cash or debit deposit so I had to spend and hour preauthorizing a credit card through a third party, even though I already paid for the hotel

Room was in bad shape and carpet was coming up near the bathroom. No microwave either

I booked a rooftop pool access room 1 month prior to secure a room for our honeymoon. I contacted them to extend our room stay even longer, and come to find out that they gave our room away to someone else. Telling me now that there was nothing they could do.

Although it's located right downtown and walking distance to a lot, the hotel isn't in the greatest shape. Parking is hard to find and it wasn't until check out that we found out we had to pay for it. Also noticed some mold in the bathroom the day we left.

Good location, breakfast included was great (eggs, cereal, sausage, bacon, French toast, baked goods, coffee. They tried to charge us for this when we checked out but removed the charges when asked. The hotel is old and dingey and needs to be updated. The staff were friendly. However we asked them to pre-book an early cab to the airport (because they do NOT have a shuttle service) even though they advertise one the cab booking was never made. Due to covid the rooms were never cleaned, beds made or linens changed but I knew that going in. Definitely took away from the experience though. The elevator only works sometimes. But you can take the service elevator or some creepy back stairs. This hotel could be much cleaner, needs a massive update, and I would NOT stay here again.

Location is convenient and pricing is ok. They’re dog friendly. Those are the only redeeming factors that earned it stars.

It’s dirty and our room smelled of cigarettes. The elevator wouldn’t take you to the floor you request. I didn’t find staff to be very friendly. They have a valet that you must use if you want to park there and they seem to expect tips… and overall I found it inconvenient that I had to give 5 minutes notice by going upstairs and calling from my room phone and provide a valet ticket to have access to my car just to get my hoodie I left in it.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Checked in later in the day - the front desk person was very friendly however gave us incorrect information about a few things - the main thing being the height of the parking garage and what vehicles would fit. We got told out truck would fit but thankfully we knew the height of our truck and when saw the height signs did not attempt their garage or the other one suggested. Most things were closed as expected due to Covid-19 (restaurant, pool etc.). A simple complimentary breakfast was offered which was delicious both days. Rooms were slightly run down with paint peeling but very comfortable with private balconies. Location was perfect. All staff we met were great!

The staff wear face masks and there is sanitizer when you walk in. The doors are always locked so you have to ring the front desk to enter. The check-in was quick. Maybe a little too quick. The clerk quickly gave us our room keys and has us fill out our breakfast order right away. We got to our room and our keys did not work. I went back to the same clerk and he quickly gave us new keys. We were able to get into our room only to find out it was occupied by someone else who was only wearing his underwear. After an awkward minute I went back down to the same clerk and explained what happened and all he said was, ”oh I gave you the wrong room number”. The next morning the staff member who delivered our breakfast kept arguing with us about having the wrong room number on our breakfast order. The hotel needed quite a bit of upgrades. I do not think I will stay there again.

It is not any trendy, a hotel with a restaurant. But don't know if restaurant open. Has ups on front. Has a atm, and a elevator

Really poor costumer service, i was there waiting at the door for 45 mins tried to call front desk to open door, agian i did contact to hotel.com service to cancel my booking so i can look up a new place to stay, walked 20mins in downtown weather -5C, they were lied to me thats doesn’t get any called from me and hotel.com.

We requested a smoke free room, the hallway walking up to our room smelled so bad with cigarette smoke it was hard to breathe. No fridge in the room. No microwave, thankfully they had one they could bring us. They left it on the floor by our front door. My daughter went for a walk to get some fresh air because the smell of smoke was bothering her. When she came back you have to push a buzzer to be ket back in the hotel. No one let her in. Her dad had to go down and let her in. We will never come back here again.

Aging hotel. Loud elevator, heat in room wouldn't turn down, bathroom needed updating/repair. Customer service was as helpful as they could be but the hotel needs repair.

I didn't stay here but I came here to swim with my friend many times. The sink in her hotel room was broken. The cleaning services were horrible and when we asked for some extra towels since we had none they yelled at us. Overall bad service dirty rooms. I would never want to go back again.

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff and well.it's downtown Calgary.) I would recomend you don't stay on the 9th floor though. It's hotter than the 3rd ring of hell.

If you want to stay at outdated overpriced Ramada then this is your go to!

The pipes make horrible banging noises every couple mins and the rooms are old and musky.

Indian man at the valet stole change out of car. The do not have a self park lot either so they force you to valet your car.

Do not expect them to take car of your car as it’s a cluster f down there.

Do not get the executive suites!
Prepaid a weeks stay at the Ramada, first night in was HOT all night. They have centralized (not individual room units!) air conditioning which does not effect the top floors which ‘run hotter’ than the rest of the hotel (according to front desk staff). The walls themselves were warm in the room, opening the window makes no difference.the jet tub looked disgusting (didn’t bother to use it because of that!), rooms are kinda dirty looking too. My room was right beside the elevators (which run allllll night) and they were soooo loud all night.
Horrible service.they wanted to relocate me to a basic room on a lower level (still warm), where other people were smoking in the hallway and other rooms. Front desk persons would roll their eyes when I would come to talk about the issues. Management still charged me for a full night even tho I did not sleep all night and they were aware of it.

Definitely don’t recommend this Ramada in the city.maybe check out another one with better service and better air conditioning during the summer!

Notre chambre réservée et confirmée par booking ne nous a pas été réservée par cet hôtel. De plus la personne a l'accueil a été hautaine avec nous. Elle n'a fait que répéter qu' elle n'avait pas de reservation pour nous alors que le montant avait ete débité par l'hotel. Vraiment honteux.

Centrally located in downtown area. It's in a old building, old furniture, no Refrigerator, no electric kettle. I am little disappointed.

On arrival (at about 10pm) after a 8 hour flight, I was warmly welcomed to the hotel, by the lovely lady on reception.

I was allocated my room (it was on a high floor, but I cannot remember the room number) it was a huge room with a big bed, a really comfortable big bed! The size of the room was fantastic, with the added bonus of a balcony! - something I did not expect from a city centre hotel, I was impressed!

From the balcony, I had a good view of the seasonal outdoor pool, which at the time of my visit was empty and looked like it was undergoing maintenance - but for my stay from 19th to 22nd April 2018, the Calgary weather did not really warrant a outdoor swim ;)

The location of the hotel, is good, just one block from the C-Train and a short walk to the lively Stephen Street, which has a whole array of bars, restaurants along with some very popular shops (especially in The Core Shopping Centre).

The hotels' own bar 'The Fox On 6th' is a good place to hang out - I was able to relax here and enjoy some good Canadian Beverages, at a cost which was not much different than the rest of the city.

I feel the staff in the hotel could not do enough for you, they were very welcoming, polite and very eager to assist in any way possible! The gentlemen at reception spent time assisting me with car rental, and then give me the directions for the short walk to collect the car - I drove to Banff. YES ITS A MUST DO!

Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, I was travelling on my own - however I feel this property would suit all needs for all visitors.

Didn't actually stay there because the pool had been shut down due to a broken bottle in it. Seemed like a very nice hotel and pool though

Good location and reasonable prices. Our room and beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean. Had a TV in our room and a balcony outside. Good value. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because their overnight parking was $25 and full, so we had to look for parking elsewhere. For comparison, a couple blocks away, Delta charged us $10 for overnight parking and had plenty of space.

The best thing about this hotel is the water pressure in the shower - you could peel a potato with it.it was awesome! Second best was the comfort of the bed - soft yet firm, and I had a great sleep. Those items aside, there wasn't much else to be pumped about. There was an outdoor pool but no hot tub, the room decor was dated, the parking lot was full so I had to find a public parkade, and someone had a yappy little dog in a nearby room that would not shut up. It didn't matter if it was midnight or 8am, all I could hear was "yap yap yap yap". If the price was right I'd stay here again, but that's about the only thing that would bring me back.

Got a nice pool view on the 4th floor with a patio. Not really sure if the valet parking downstairs was a good thing or not but didn't have an option if you wanted to park on location. Overall, room was ok. TV is small.

Room was clean and functional. I was on the street side and it was quiet. It looks old and could use some 'love". But if you are looking for a cheap room downtown, it's the place. I did not try the breakfast buffet.

My room was hot and I was told there was no way to truly control the temperature in the room because it’s central air. Also no way to turn a fan on to run to drown out the loud road noise outside the hotel. The bathroom had a sewer odor to it. Bed was clean and comfortable. The style of the room is old, but it seemed pretty clean. I ordered food from the pub connected to the hotel. It was very good. Due to the poor sleep environment, I wouldn’t recommend it to others.

Decent place for decent price would give 5 stars but the pool was closed due to another guess leaving bodily fluids into it. Not the hotels fault but it wasn't what we expected none the less.

Overall good place to stay

Perfect location right in the middle of downtown Calgary. Close to bars and restaurants. Only complaint I would have is the rooms were quite old. Some mold in the bathrooms and the patios are ugly. Other than that I loved my stay.

I've been to 3 different Ramada's, Toronto, Regina and Calgary. I have nothing great to say they are all less than average. It's a clean place to stay. However the room smells like old vacuum bag the fridge was barely kept our drinks cold, the bathroom floor was crumbling, and it took two phone calls and 45mins to have a maintenance person bring us a working remote for the TV.

Ice machine doesn't work so we have to get ice from the front desk. No parking available so we had to park a block away. AC not working. Bug in room. And bathroom had no country Space.

Hotel was comfortable with a good cafe but TV and phone didn't work in my room. The staff were good and helpful but they seemed overrun by minor problems in the hotel.

Comfortable hotel but scruffy room. Window wouldn't close, some lights in our room were broken and one wall socket was damaged. Breakfast was excellent, however as was the lady serving it.

Rooms are clean and carpeted. The room that I was provided did not have a fridge but there is a TV and free wifi is provided. Parking also seems reasonable 25/day during weekdays (M-Th) and 15 /day for the weekend.

The hotel was stunning and very excellent. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. My visit to Calgary was definitely enhanced because of my stay here.
