Rasoi East Indian and Hakka Chinese Cuisine

Sorry team but literally it was so disappointed I came from airdrie specially to try your hakka Chinese at 10: 45pm. I was expecting some good stuff but it was totally waste of money and time chilli potato was not chilli potato it was more like fries dipped in sweet chilli thai sauce hakka noodles more like a chowmine and gobhi Manchurian was the worst taste like tomato puree. I literally want to return it back to you guys but you were closed. Not good

We visited this rasoi restaurant from cranbrook and it took like 5 hours drive to calgary and it was our very first time, We ordered allu prothne and papri chart…The papri was so horrible (the onions were stale there was like no dahi inside them just papri and sauce). I had a bad experience there as the service was very slow and food was not good at all.

Waited 15 minutes on front counter.
Ring well
No one show up.
Close the store and go home.
What a waste of time.

Travellers alert! If your craving for good food this place is a must… Good food and top quality service. Restaurant owners was going an extra mile to provide exceptional service. Everything was just perfect next time if we visit calgary this restaurant is for sure on our visit list

Waited for more than 25 minutes as they were busy for takeout and eventually got to know that the person on phone did not even punched the order. So waited 25 minutes for nothing. Highly un-professional behaviour from the restaurant whenever I come always ends up waiting for more than 30 minutes for a small order and the excuse will be the nearest festive making it busy. If there is a time to answer the call than there is enough time to punch in the order as well. Need to learn basics again.

I loved the food. Garlic naan and aloo kulcha were very fresh and the rest of the food was delicious.
Service was fast and friendly.

The food is always AMAZING. A lot of places don’t make butter chicken taste good but Rasoi does an AMAZING job! Always so clean and flavourful! Great presentation and never cold when it’s picked up!

Try other dishes they are better. Stay away from bhindi, it is sprinkles of bhindi you need to find in the pile of uncooked onions and too much oil.

Listen it is not a story okay. Now you are playing safe side so that you will not get in any trouble, and I also have food safety certificate, don't tell me about it.and don't try to be over-smart now. As I said we took food around 8: 30 and after arrive home we had that food didn't set it on any room temperature okay.it is third day I'm taking medicine and I don't have any change in my health. My husband is also sick and other family members are sick.if your food was good then why it happen to my all family. If the food is fresh it doesn’t matter if we set it on room temperature 1 or 2 hours, because every food have its shelf life. It doesn’t spoil in an hour. If you and your employee have food safety certificates you must know about the shelf life of every food.

I order veg & paneer pakore 19 June around 8: 30 pm. My husband and me took it from the restaurant. Now my all family members are sick and sour throat after ate pakore. I feel my sour is not good just after had it. Next morning all my family members said their throat is not feeling good and I have fever headache and all body pain last two days. I took days off from my work and still not feel good. We didn’t even drink any cold-drink after pakore. I am having Advil every day but not feel any change in my health. They gave us bassi food with bacteria. I never felt sick after eat anything. They are serving bad food to people but nobody notice it. Very very very bad experience. We will nerve order anything from this restaurant and never recommend this place to anyone. I’m getting loss from my job because of you guys I’m going to see doctor tomorrow if anything happen to my health. I’ll sue you.

The food was delicious. All our staff throughout the company complimented on the taste and flavours of the different items.

One of the best Punjabi restaurants I have ever been in Calgary. First time in 2 years and you can never go wrong.

I’ll start by saying that me not being Indian I haven’t eaten a ton of Indian food…but our experience here was excellent. The butter chicken was very good, chili chicken was great (a little spicy for me…but that was expected). Service was great as well. Will have to try some sweets next time we come, as we will be back.

Very bad service, We have been there on Christmas Day and they overcharged our food. We had waited 45 minutes when first ordered and a extra 35 minutes waiting for our food in the store. They had to many people and they couldn’t even take there order because it’s more people that they can handle. They also gave another person someones else’s food then he came back and waited another 20 minutes to get his real order. Very messed up restaurant.

Excellent food. I would go back even just to eat the appetizers and make a meal out of them. Overall very good quality food. Friendly staff.

Nice food. The taste was good. Veggies are good but can improve on Indian bread (rotid and nan)

Overall food quality low, ordered butter naan - had NO BUTTER on it, ordered kadhai paneer - uncooked mix vegetable like capsicum, paneer was not cooked properly, not even proper gravy.cost total $31-$32 for a couple, I wont recommend eating as dine in.not worth it with pricey food items, best to order some south indian foos like Dosa, Idli, sambhar, even best and worth for quality food as compared here.

Great food and customer service, we have been coming here for years. We always cater from here for all events, food is always delicious and made to perfection. Owner is pleasant to deal with and will always accommodate any special food requests.

I went to this place with my friends and the food was too good and enriched with the flavours. We had chicken curry and chicken tikka masala with garlic naan. The staff is also very energetic and friendly. I’ll highly recommend this place to you guys.

I bought food for my baby shower on 17th oct, honestly food was amazing, delicious. Everybody enjoyed and praised about the food. Owner is so good and polite and gave me many complimentary things. Definitely recommend to everyone and will be there again.

Food was good, but the bhuna meat was not up to the mark, ordered bharwa bhindi, I thought they knew what Bharwa bhindi is, it was regular masala bhindi they served us. Butter chicken was tasty, and the naan were microwaved. Service was fast, but staff is not friendly ️

Food is always good. Today ordered it from doordash and I'm not going to lie it's garbage. The paneer is runny. The boondi dhai is sour and the gajrela tastes like it's a month old!

The best Indian restaurant I ever been to their food is great and the service is awesome very nice and welcoming staff its worth it going there give it a try.

The taste of food is avg and menu prices are different than what is charged finally. When asked why the price is different the lady at the counter said we had our menu changed recently. We asked her to inform customers this at first before they order. She kept saying our menu prices change all the time and we cannot just change it everytime price changes.

We came from regina, and experienced very bad consumer service. They don't have any value for their costumer.

I ordered chole bhature, they charged me $2 more than the price on the menu. When I asked them about the price, the lady at the counter said the menu needs to be updated. I asked her why they didn't tell me when I ordered the dish, she didn't have an answer. Chole didn't taste remotely close to how they should be. They don't serve onion with this dish. You can get much tasting chole bhature for $8-9 at many other restaurants in Calgary compared to their price of $11.

During another prior visit also they charged more than the menu price. On another visit, I asked for onions with chole bhature and they charged me extra.

Really good but can be improved, I ordered chat papri and the papri was not proper it was something like mattar. Please use actual papri for it

I am giving this review 3 stars. We went to this restaurant on a road trip to Calgary. I had eaten here before last year and it was a great experience - someone had recommended the place and knew the owner and had called ahead of us arriving so maybe that’s why the service was awesome. But this time around. Food taste was excellent 5/5. Now let’s talk about service. We had one female server who was very pleasant and nice, took our order - then we were informed from someone else that they do not serve this dish (cholay puri) after 5: 00 pm (this is a lie because when we are there before we ordered the same dish). I was very disappointed but we changed the order. No one came to ask if we needed anything else. I had to wave someone over to get a drink. My water was never refilled. I had my baby with me and there was no diaper change station. I had to leave to go to my car in order to change my baby. Regardless of the food being excellent, I do not think I will be dining here again.

Always great food here and awesome service by the owner himself. Definitely coming back again and again.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Calgary northeast. The service is unmatched. The food is catered according to your taste and the owner truly cares about your experience.

Great place awesome service, the food is so fresh, hot and it feels just like you just got invited at a friend's home and their parents have invited you for dinner it's too die for. Their vegetarian menu is huge as well as the non vegan one. I recommend to all

I always think that I made the best chicken biryani but today when I tried rasoi's chicken biryani, I really enjoyed, after having one bite I couldn't control myself to say WAHA G WAHA! Thanks to chef

Worst experience ever. When you think of chole bhature, what comes in your mind! Big, crispy and hot. But they serve bhature like naan or roti (on top of each other) when you order more than 1 plate.it's kinda funny but nonsense at the same time.
We were 5 people there and one of them ordered tea but they even forgot to serve the tea, looks so unprofessional.

The service was terrible didn’t even offer water second time around didn’t even take an interest if we want to drinks just Food down disappeared probably didn’t even come around once. Looks like the waiters couldn’t even be bothered

The back room operation is excellent the front room operation is a reflection of how poorly they were conducting them selves no greetings no smiles no nothing I don’t know how the owner even encourages this in the service industry should be top of there game.

Hope you have better stuff in your other locations. But the chefs are awesome

Fish tikka was not cooked properly even the briyani was not upto mark. The server at the front is a bundle of attitude. The server gave no explanation for charging 10.99 for only 3 piece of gulabjamun.

I ordered vegetable pakoraes and they taste good but they had tiny rocks and sand inside the pakora. I am very disappointed.

It is a nice little restaurant. Been here several times and I love the food. The dishes are full of flavors and quantity is pretty good. My favorite dishes are Chicken Tikka masala and Malai Kofta. Highly recommend this place

Driving here and back home, for an hour! But I know why, Probably best Indian food in Calgary! Big and delicious portions! Everything tastes always amazing! Costumer service is great! Highly recommend this place!

We were just driving by and took take out. Excellent food, we had Bhindi do Piaza and Mixed Vegetables. We asked for very mild food at the person at till (I believe the owner) was very genuine and told that it will still have a bit of tangy taste instead of just plain mild. I appreciated that and the food was indeed mild and very tasty and good quantity.

I would give this 3.5 stars, but the flavor was nice regardless of what the food looked like, as well as huge portions! I ordered butter chicken and chicken Tikka masala with jeera rice. The butter chicken was curdled and heavy on the oil, but flavor was on point and was nice and spicy. The Tikka masala was a major disappointment, it was all lumpy, didn't look fresh at all and visually very unappealing. The flavor was nice and spicy, but it just looked like someone's leftovers so I couldn't finish it. I feel like if I ordered mid day instead of closer to closing time it would have been better:) either way I'd give this place another try for sure!

Best service ever! Called in 10 minutes before going in and the food was ready and fresh. The staff was extremely polite and friendly. Loved every bit of it:)

Food is fantastic no words to say but the thing is their staff the girl at the front desk is always rude it has been the second time i have tolerated her its like whenever i buy something she’s is showing like she is doing an favour on me even i am paying for what I’m getting from there. If they wouldn’t check this all they might lose their customers and this was the last time for me to buy something from them.

Goat is my favorite of there Restuarant. Dsnt mean else everything is not good. Pretty much all of there food and dishes are excellent and well cooked nd taste delicious. All staff members are really good, friendly, well knowledgeable nd knows how to meet and greet people. Good job by management, worker and also chefs. Sandhu pajji keep it up.

I don't know the name of the girl who was working on the front desk on 8 Nov and it was 8: 15 pm. She had such a bad attitude towards us and we are a regular customers so we know almost everyone working over there. She should work on her service skills rather than showing attitude.

Food is good but the staff should know and keep their standard and focused more on their commitment.

Yesterday went to pick up some food that i had ordered the girl at the front was talking so badly and just showing her attitude. I think they must teach their staff how to deal with the customer or else close their business.

Food was fine but customer service representatives played loud music even though we requested to lower the volume. Also, they didn't pack the food as it was requested. Customer service was TERRIBLE.

Sweets section setup next door was a good move. However, the entire setup and speed of operations was a disaster. Spent 25mins to pick up only 4boxes of sweets. No space on table to put my boxes while selecting the variety of sweets. No proper queue coordination. Only 1 payment terminal for an expected busy day. No pre-packed sweets. All the sweets are of different sizes. You would think after doing this for years, they would have improved their operations.
Have yet to try the sweets.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is great and the service is fast. Food here has never disappointed me and highly recommend this place. It's a must try, especially if you are looking for a great Indian food in the NE part of the city.

Got variety of sweets and more food options to choose from. The food was great and but had to wait a little more than usual.

I went Rasoi East Indian Cuisine today first time with my friends. I will never ever recommend anyone to visit Rasoi at this location. Worst customer service and the food was not according to expectation. Total waste of money and time as well.

Food and sweets are delicious but not satisfied with the customer service. Went to pick my order but the lady over there was so rude she was in hurry to take the money and act like she is the owner. I think they should change the staff. Will never go there again.

Sandhu paji and pawar ji great guys running the show. Had a good time went with frnds from Saskatchewan. Good food.

I come here often with my family, hands down the best Indian Cuisine you can find in Calgary. And to top it of the owner is so friendly he will take the time out to ask how your day is going!

This time my experience was good. We ordered an appetizer, 2 sabjis, naan and roti. It was all good and esp naan were scrumptious. I think I was very happy with the naan because it is hard to find perfect soft and chewy naan. Both sabjis were good in look and taste. The Manchurian was a bit bitter, I don't know why. Also it could have been better in taste. Won't be ordering that next time.

Service was warm and welcoming. I have a baby and the baby was well taken care of. They have high chairs with padding which is rare among east indian restaurants.
