Where are the people!? !
Went to pick up currency order. One person in line. Two people seated at the single wicket that was open - with no staff. No staff in sight in the large open area behind the counter - not anywhere. Several minutes later a person comes to the single open wicket to serve those people. Sits down. It’s clearly going to be a long one. Had to leave. Foolishly I tried to call them later so they wouldn’t send my order back before I could get there again, but no, I was wrong for thinking it’s possible to speak to something other than a robot when calling the branch directly. If you speak, it tries to answer your questions but it can’t understand you so it just hangs up on you.
Here’s a tidbit from a family member who worked for the bank a lifetime ago. The “retail” bank - the you and me bank of accounts and savings and mortgages and high service fees - is the steady profitable backbone of the bank. The commercial/business bank makes tonnes of money and loses tonnes of money. But this is the service reserved for the regular people. I noticed the business line had two tellers and two people to serve. Yup.

No matter what time of day you come to this branch, no matter if it is busy or not, prepare to waste a good amount of your time here! A bunch of incompetent slow staff at this branch. Avoid if you can.

AVOID!

This is the 4th RBC branch I have been to in Calgary so far and don’t intend on ever coming back.

Worst wait time I have ever experienced. The business line went 4x slower than the regular line (this line is supposed to be priority service.) Fasdeposit closes by 3: 30… why? !? This is supposed to be a fast efficient way for people to make deposits.

All workers were excruciatingly slow! I’ve never seen a whole crew of staff that looked so miserable and took forever to complete any work. I almost walked out of the bank and drove to another location due to the awful service.

Almost all staff looked like they either swallowed a lemon or just got screamed at…

The branch gives off a vibe of going through customs in an airport! Its almost set up the same. You feel like you are standing in line to be sentenced.

Regardless, thankfully a new lady came on while I was still waiting in line and was able to perform her job 10x faster than all the other workers.

Can’t say the staff cared about the customers at all! Almost an attitude of we will take your money if and when we decide to… hmm that seems backwards. No one was overly friendly either!

Garbage branch, garbage service, garbage workers! The ATM of this branch ate $800 of my money and the branch was no help in working towards finding what's wrong instead i have to wait a whole week to get my own money back, Called their support line instead and the agent was so rude she kept cutting me off and showed no sympathy and effort to work around my situation, hopefully this message deters people to even think about using this circus of a banks service!

My favourite bank and branch! Close to my office and I’ve never had to wait more than 5 minutes. I used to bank with TD but the in person and phone wait times are way too long. Also did some banking at scotia and Bmo and also quite long. Also have a great rbc mortgage broker!

Horrible service. This branch is terribly managed. RBC used to be so great, the past 5 years they have been a nightmare to deal with. Considering switching all my business and personal to another bank

Ricky Hoang at this location makes me wait 20 minutes for our appointment at 3pm today. Nobody seems to help until I raged out leaving. Never come back!

I have slways been treated amazing at this branch. I've never had a complaint about anyone here, and they have really helped me manage my finances.

Your representative Priya Pathak, located in your Calgary 32 Avenue NE branch, has the most appalling customer service skills I have ever encountered. Her attitude and lack of discretion in my dealings left me questioning the moral aptitude of your financial institution. Her ability to demean and belittle a long time customer appears to mimic your corporate standards. This was proven when Deliza in your call centre offered the same level of service as she offered to transfer my call to a superior, only to transfer me to a nonexistent voicemail box after 59 minutes of waiting to speak to a representative. An organization of your calibre should be able to provide respectful and courteous service to your customers and yet you've proven me wrong twice in one day. It appears as though your employees have been very well trained in upholding your corporate beliefs while lacking any value in your customers.

Disappointed with the service at this branch. I called customer care regarding my account fees as I am a student and was told to go to any branch with student confirmation and all would be fixed. The client advisor at this bank did not know what he was doing and told me to book an appt as I need documentation. I told him I have documentation and was told to walk in and get it done. Both client advisors were not willing to look into it.
