Edit: I took out my RRSP's and moved to TD best cuntomer service ever.

I guess I should have looked at the reviews more seriously before I tried to open an account today at this absolute joke of a bank. So I made an appointment to open an account for my daughter I showed up today I have the appointment in a screenshot on my phone. I was asked to sit down and wait. Minutes later someone asks to see the appt on my phone ok I show them. Then someone else asks to see the appt on my phone ok. So the third time I was getting concerned, they then asked me if I was with a man standing 20 meters away from me? Umm no. Then some lady walks into the bank with a coffee in her hand walks right up to me and says did they talk to you? First of all, I had no idea who this person was I thought she was a customer secondly I had no idea what she was talking about. I have to ask her what she means because at this point I DON'T KNOW WHO SHE IS. Then someone else comes back as says we can't pull up your bank card, I'm like yeah because we are here to open a friggen account! Then I figure out the coffee lady is who I am supposed to have an appointment with Jani, at this point, I have received no introductions anything I'm assuming this is the person I was supposed to see. She then comes out and asks if I'm James. Now last time I checked I was an obvious woman but hey apparently today I looked like a 27 year old male with a beard. They then ask again to see the appointment on my phone so I show them. Jani goes back and tells me again they can't pull up the account card and again I say that's because we are opening an account! But what they didn't ask was hey James/Michele (cause apparently I'm a man now) do you have an account. Why yes we have rrsp's, mortgage and everything at this bank that I now want to change this is why we are bringing our daughter here to get an account! Now, this was also the second time we have tried to open an account here so not amused. They then told me they had an opening at 3 but basically they messed up and would not accommodate me even though I had an appointment. I can guarantee when our mortgage comes up we are out of this bank. That was the worst customer service I have ever received at a business and I will be looking into moving my rrsp's as well. Please do not go to this bank if this is even a small indication of what goes on in this place, I can't imagine trusting them to manage my money.

Very lovely people, but never get the job done. I would go to a different branch if I want my issue to resolve.

One star is to good for them! Disgusting and disgraceful company! Employees at this location are no better! The manager at this store and her entire staff need to be retrained and learn some compassion! You'd think they were all millionaires for how stuck up they are!

I can’t believe how poorly trained the staff are at this branch! What do they just expect everyone to bank online and think this will be an easy job.

About 5 business days ago I went to a different bank to the teller nothing special, not a special meeting nothing of the short. Just to freeze my accounts and send a letter to a company drawing money out of my account to get them to stop.

Flash forward went to the 130th location to see if the company had got the letter and I could open my accounts again.
They told me that I was wrong that the bank can’t send letters to other companies (even tho I was right there and signed the letter myself) to get them to stop. Further they have never heard of this.

Then I said can I unfreeze my account and they told me they need to talk to a manager. I waited a good 10min for them to come back and say that the bank cannot freeze accounts and send letter that I was wrong.

I drove to another RBC. (Not even the original one I sent the letter at) And within 5 minutes I knew that the other company got the letter. That they would be blocked if they tried taking money and that I could unfreeze my accounts.

Do not recommend this RBC and believe it’s a disgrace to the banks reputation

I don't know why anyone banks with RBC. There is no way to contact anyone locally. All calls go to a call center that can't help. I have been trying to get our business accounts updated after one of the owners passed. Months of frustration and still no resolution. Each time I stop in I am told I need this or to do that. We do that, then majically there are more hoops to jump through. I have asked flat out exactly what do we need to do and everytime get a different answer. Set up an appointment to get things set up, then when at appointment I am told that they can't help, it has to be someone else. Once we get things back in order, the RBC accounts will be closed. Also have accounts at another financial institution and no problem whatsoever for the exact same scenario.

I do have to say this branch needs some help with a manger! Mr Pine, All I can say there is better banks out there. They start with T or even C.just reading these reviews show how well this branch conducts business.

Every-time I visit this branch I spend 30 mins or more waiting for a teller to conduct business. Just for simple deposits. Steer clear of this branch if you value your time.

Worst location in Calgary. I called royal bank they told me to go to branch and get forms, sign, submit However representative on cash counter not ready to understand my concerned and looks like unknowledgeable.

I'd like to ware everyone to come to this branch!!!
we are coming to deposit a cheque for a client.after damaging the cheque by printing the wrong information on the cheque, the branch manager, Nicole Frater, ask us to go to the other bank in -20C degree to fix the cheque issue for them.of course, after we got upset, then she said! You are only here for your client's business, you do not consider an RBC client, I don't have to listen to your complaints!

FYI, we are banking with RBC on the personal side investment since 2009 "not anymore, after this matter! "

I'm very disposing of the way this branch handled it, simply, as last time a different brank was able to fix the same kind of mistake by processing the additional request.and Nicole just tell us to go away.of course, this doesn't mean there is no other good customer service agent at this branch, but NICOLE FRATER is definitely NOT one of them.
I sincerely hope the RBC bank can review this message and offer appropriate "customer service training" in this branch, at least take a look at people file's before calling us " NOT AN RBC CLIENT" hope no one has to go through what we had.

I stepped into the RBC branch on 130th Ave, the service I received was exceptional even though I was not an RBC customer. I was engaged with valuable bank information whilst I waited for the my immediate need. Despite the transaction delay, Oghenekaro Ikpro, delivered exceptional customer service and gave a lasting impression of the RBC.
