I have been banking with this particular branch for a some years… Always had an excellent, and positive experience with all the staff. During my bereavement visit to England that lasted over a year, it was important and comforting to know that I could use my debit card at any Bank, and cash machines at all major Stores over there…I never once had a problem….

I can't even call this branch. The machine won't let me through to talk to the branch. Imagine that, you can't even get a hold of your bank.

There were 4 service associates available. 1 left and 3 were on their computers while we were waiting to be served. It was only when I asked if somebody can help was only when they called customers. There was even only a few on the lineup so it was not a busy day but we waited a long time. TiME IS PRECIOUS.

Absolute garbage branch! I walked in wanting to deposit a pile of cash and was treated like I was homeless because I was wearing work clothes. I was standing in line and was the third person in a line that hadn't moved for 10 min. A couple walked in and immediately a woman who worked there pulled them out of line and gave them the royal treatment with bo regard for the people who have been waiting. When I got to the teller, she made no attempt to even make eye contact. Treated like garbage. Absolute abysmal service

This is the best location ever I never seen all the time. You need help with anything they got you without waiting on the arrival they have a beautiful seats. You sit and relax and ask all your question you need they'll be ready to answer all the question you have. I love this location always in my heart and that's why I always go there. I was the one with a commanded my family to start going there it's quick and it's more help. Very clean location and more help more than to the other places I have been. On my own opinion this is the best location in Calgary Alberta. You want to be done everything as quick as possible in 10 minutes 15 minutes 5 minutes this is the area you have to go to. Without forgetting one of the best guy I met there that I was really needed help he helped me like in 5 minutes only without waiting. He explained me everything easy and simple and quick Christopher Bordush he's the best ever just go to the location ask this name he will help you and he will explain to you very simple and quick and fast very educated man and very nice.

I was at the bank today, a nice employee let me in without a mask. And then Trevor Pollock Community Manager came and said I have to leave the bank because I don't wear a mask, I told him that I have an exemption, and still I had to leave the bank, that is discrimination, he was still arguing with me, not nice

Did a wire transfer in about 30 minutes. Much faster than the first time which took almost two hours. Good to see the improvement.

Manager is a complete joke. Talks over you, does not try to help in any aspect. Must feel like a big man holding people's money because he has that power. Awful guy to deal with. Should get better customer service skills when dealing with CUSTOMERS.

I was in at 4pm Monday October 25th with an ongoing issue with my checks. I have never dealt with this man before, and have had been helped for this exact situation. This man kept talking over me, not willing to help, trying to get me to leave essentially until asking me to leave because I had finally gotten upset at the fact that he was not letting me speak. I come into this branch once every single week and have never had such an awful experience. This man then brought my my personal transactions asking me about them, which is ultimately none of your business and not close to the reason for me coming in. Absolutely unprofessional.

Had a terrible experience with Nicole. She took me out of line insisting that I could do my banking at the instant teller. Then, when that didn't work she also couldn't help me at the help desk. I just wanted US currency and travel insurance. She was abrasive, loud and unhelpful.

I called to ask for a bank statement to be emailed to me showing the last 28 days, EMAILED. I called 3 times since September 4th and they screwed and mailed it to me instead. I need it in a PDF from the bank for my immigration, otherwise I'd have to go through an approved scanning business for the mailed version. They've delayed my immigration by 2 weeks because of incompetence and I'm genuinely upset. I've been with this bank for 9 or more years at this point and I can't wait to leave.

Edit: was told I would be able to talk to a manage on Saturday, Never got a call. Called today to ask and they said the manager would call me back today, never did.

- Can never phone a branch
-> Have to phone a robot, get CANADA as a whole.
-> This is supposed to be a SUPPORT line however I have been hung up by the robot more times then not as he "can't help me" and English is my 1st language
-> Robot doesn't allow you to lodge complaints, he "doesn't understand" the command. HOW IRONIC

- Appointment got moved THREE TIMES in a period of 48 hours

- When arrived at the branch, at my appointment time, was told I wasn't on the calendar and got the hands, palm up, and "it's not my fault".
-> Got offered a solution AFTER I was walking out the door which was to look to see if "someone else can find then time".

- While on the line with FINALLY a person
-> Had to repeat 4 times that I did not have an account
-> Have to give an address otherwise a complaint "can't be filed". When I asked why an address was needed for a complaint that occurred at a branch that they correctly named got "I don't know".

I took my business to a different bank.

I went in to inquire about why my accounts had been frozen, and all they could tell me was that I had a fraudulent e transfer trying to be sent into my account, and my account would be closed for 6 months. And then proceeded to tell me that they could not do anything about it after I told them that I had no idea what was going on. I went to another branch, and they were able to help me out way better, told me what was happening and that they were going to start a fraud case, and get my accounts unfrozen. I do not recommend this bank.

This branch specialists just don’t know their own process. Kami Folorunso said on the phone that I have to come to a branch to reverse payment from my credit card, though I was asking her to do everything over the phone, I came and another representative on a reception said they can’t do it in the branch!
Furthermore, I was told, that no one from the branch could say that to me!
Train your employees so they know at least how to make a reverse on a credit card and how not to blame clients!
And the reason why I need a reverse is because I’m closing an account with them. Now I’m looking forward to close my credit card and never deal with this bank!

Frustrations! Frustrations with RBC! Trying to call this branch or any RBC is full of frustrations! You can never get hold of anyone and if you do, you are transferred to 5 five different people and no help from them at all

You can't even phone the branch directly for branch specific questions. You have to go through the RBC Main phone line. What's the point of a branch specific phone number if this is how it is? Then there is a wait time of 15-23 minutes for them to call you back. Or they refer you to online services. We pay how much in monthly fees for little to no service. Total waste of time. I am so frustrated with companies screwing us over while they collect 100s of millions per quarter in profits. Wake up and start offering helpful customer services RBC.

Cashier was pleasant but poorly trained, manager was abrupt and unfriendly. They are apparently snobs here, I came in here dressed in a suit about a month previous, they did the exact transaction as requested, I was helping a friend and came in here and dress and painting clothes, and they refuse to do the same transaction and the manager basically asked me to leave. I had heard that the Royal Bank were snobs, now I know it is true, at least at this location.

Being a loyal RBC customer for over 15 years, I have had to face the worst customer service from the Assistant Manager at the Shawnessy Branch today 26th Apr 2021 at around 11am. I have been going into this branch in person at least a couple of times a week for both personal and business transactions. As a business customer, I have to do wire transfers on a regular basis, and I have been doing this for over 3 years either at TD or RBC.

Considering that I have been sending this wire transfer to my brother who is on a business trip several times to the same account, and I have also processed it a few days ago, anyone would expect a quick and professional service. Unfortunately, the Assistant Manager (the staff at the counter called the Assistance Manager for help to process this) who processed a same wire transfer a few days ago for me was extremely unprofessional and rude. She had asked me the reason for sending it, which I explained it even though it is in their system. The shocking event of this was, she claimed that I told her a few days ago that this wire transfer is for my husband and today I mentioned that it is my brother. I said to her that I have my husband here in Canada with me, and it was only my brother that I have been sending the wire transfer is for. I have no reason at all to mention the word husband, and it is a legitimate business transaction to my brother, and I have always mentioned this.

I am extremely disappointed and shocked as to why this Assistant Manager had came up with this story and made me think if I should ever go back to this branch again. Almost every staff knows me as I have been going there more often, and have never had any issues. The way she treated me as a customer, and the story she invented, and then the way her language and behavior was well below the customer service standard that I expect of RBC!

I hope the Store Manager will take this issue serious and either send this Assistant Manager for Customer Service Training or put her in the back office to do other tasks instead of damaging the RBC standards. I am perfectly happy to speak with the Store Manager or anyone at a responsible position at RBC to share this unfortunate experience, so that they don't treat any other customer like this.

Management at this location is absolutely awful up in your face trying to tell you where to stand and where to walk in the name of science yeah I don't see any scientists or doctors there to back up these claims.

Tellers vary from acceptable to very kind and friendly, however the branch manager and assistant branch manager (Trevor and Mari I believe) are pretty awful. The have frequently refused to provide more than $3000 cash to me via my business account however when they aren’t around the tellers are more than happy to do so.

On one occasion Mari was visibly rude to me and another teller apologized to me on her behalf.

Honestly I just feel bad for the employees working under this management team.

Good bank to go to for investments. If you ever have a problem you can always ask for financial advice. Depending on your financial situation, different advisors fit different needs. Let them know what you want/need and they can help you reach that goal. Make sure to be truthful so you can go in the right direction. Derek Moir is a staff member there who is very experienced and gave me excellent help with investments.

I am only giving Yulieth the five star rating.
I no longer bank with RBC, haven't in a while, but I needed old statements and it was imperative that I got them. At first it looked bleak because my account was closed, but she worked her magic and was determined to help me no matter how long it took. She got me exactly what I needed and was SO thorough! Maybe if all of RBC worked like she does then I wouldn't have left.

I was in this location just minutes ago and the guy who is screening the client seems does not want us to be serve inside. No knowledge at all about what the problem is. He suggest I do etransfer rather than use the mobile app to transfer money from my account to my wife's rbc account. Very dissappointed at this branch. Specially the receptionist.

My account was created under false pretenses. I was also given no info on my account. I can't log in to my account or anything. I've been trying to contact their customer support for months but haven't received any help. All I want to do is my close my account.

Brutal.
But.thankfully because of the horrid service for new immigrants at RBC, we drove 5 minutes to Scotiabank and within 35 minutes got set up with everything we were looking for!
All we wanted to do is establish some credit here in Canada. Were told shes ‘no longer a newcomer’.
Our documents say otherwise. Oh well- all her future banking with her new business will be done with an institution that cares.
Adios, RBC!

I don’t ever leave reviews but this bank is absolutely brutal so I have to. The polices change depending on who you speak with. Each employee will give you a different answer. Their incompetence cost me 180$, nothing major but it’s the principle. All my accounts are either closed or being closed and I will not be an RBC customer again. Do yourself a favour and go to the TD down the street.

Amazing branch! My wife and I recently decided to consolidate our funds into one bank and after our horrible experience with Scotia Bank at South centre we decided to make the switch to RBC.

Kemi was the advisor that helped us and she was amazing. Walked us through the process of changing everything from Scotia to RBC, got me my new cards and was a very pleasant person!

The RBC app and website is also miles and miles above the Scotia one. I did realize how much I wanted these features until I saw them. Adding people to accounts is super easy and so is checking balances. My old Scotia account took days to update (like depositing cheques and paying bills) rbc takes minutes. Go with RBC and be happy.

Customer service is non-existent. I was there today and 4: 50 pm and there were more than 10 people in line. Anyone that should have been able to do banking through the business wicket was turned away to stand in the personal banking line.

Avoid this branch at all costs. Very slow service thru tellers (not everything can be done thru ATMs unfortunately) I’ve never seen people move/walk/work as slow as this bunch.

The absolute worst bank. They told me that they would release my funds and they did not. I went out on a date and when I went to pay, it was declined. I called customer service and spoke to a manager, she was not helpful at all. I'm completely appalled. Customer service was absolutely horrible. TD has never done this to me. Good luck people.

The worst experience at the Shawnessy branch that I had since I open my account with RBC 18 years ago. I deposited a cheque from one of my accounts to the royal Bank account- I was treated like an delinquent and asked for another piece of ID to prove that I am the account holder to deposit a cheque. - i can understand that when you take a big chunk of money from your account to be asked for an ID
The branch holds my cheque for 21 business days.that I never encounter since i have my account. They took my money from my other account the second day after I deposited the cheque and still they haven't release my funds.
I had excellent service in Cole Harbour NS where I had the same situation and I had my funds available in the same day, and I don't think that RBC changed their policy in last few months - is just the people who work in this branch are playing with your money with no concern for their customers. For this I am considering closing my accounts with RBC and move to another bank. Thank god I don't have my mortgage with RBC.
I didn't read the reviews for the branch before I went there and I didn't know that there's another branch around, with better reviews- not very familiar with the area -just moved in Calgary.

WITHOUT PREJUDICE. Well, for all you hard working, and especially unemployed Calgarians that bank at this RBC it is not hard to know where your money goes! It is painfully obvious you paid for mucho dinero renovations and you pay the salaries of the most self righteous, snobby employees that have zero training in customer service. I am sure the employees excelled at towing the company line; at any customers expense. I have to commend the RBC on their prejudicial treatment of customers. Everytime you walk into their institutions they ask you "are you an RBC customer? " If you say no, it goes completely down hill from there in terms of treating you with any respect; cause after all you have confirmed you are not one of them. I have never felt such disrespect, been paid such disregard and seen such blatant use of customer money to pay prejudice, self righteous, disrespectful people. The customer I was representing last Thursday to simply deposit his hard earned income got an eye opener when I explained why it took me 30+minutes to deposit his cheque into his account, with all the required information. I was third in line. There were no signs of direction, and I agree with the other review we were directed and treated like cattle. There were 6 unused 'Apple ambience looking' stations, and 5 people standing around gaulking at their expensive computer screen. Only 4 people were actually helping customers. I look forward to the day he closes his account because I think prejudicial treatment of people is something our society as a whole is trying to eradicate, not promote like the RBC does. I would not recommend opening an account with the RBC if you value respect, dignity and gratitude.

After having a very confusing, frustrating and misleading conversation that ended in 2 more calls with other representatives I was left no other choice but to speak with the branch manager. Trevor honestly and whole heartily made it as right as he could. He personally took care of my request, gave me honest, complete and clear information and started me down the path to migrating a majority of my banking services over to RBC. Understandably not many people have positive experiences with banks, however, what started off as an extremely sour one ended with me feeling like my overall concerns will be addressed and I will continue to move forward with migration to RBC.

The new set up is very confusing.
Service terrible! Walk out with the same problem walking in for n still no answer. Very disappointed. I have been dealing with this branch since day one when it opened. I understand banking is changed but not this way! DISAPPOINTED DISAPPOINTED!

Terrible service, they do not know what is happening with my loan, the promised interest rate keeps changing and haven't received a call back in over 2 weeks regarding my mortgage consolidation loan. Time to take my business to another location or to a competitor.
