Nothing special about this location, it's in a sketchy part of the city and it's usually crowded, with no real notable discounts, wouldn't overly recommend it

Wanted to let you know that I had a very nice experience with the cashier Joanne today, she was at till #2 around 1pm. I used the remainder of a PC gift card for the bulk of my purchase, having only 77 cents left owing. In my frantic last minute attempt at shopping I had neglected to transfer money into my account and was overdrawn. As I started to reach for my phone to transfer money, Joanne without hesitation used her own card to pay my remaining balance and not hold up the people behind me. And she did it with a smile! Thank you again Joanne! You’re amazing!

Prices are too high, I thought they were supposed to be a lower price store like No Frills

I recently visited Superstore, and while the store itself appeared to be well-maintained and adequately stocked, my overall experience was marred by an overwhelming presence of individuals exhibiting erratic behavior. Unfortunately, the pervasive presence of what appeared to be individuals struggling with addiction greatly impacted my visit and left me feeling uneasy.

Upon entering the store, I was immediately greeted by a disconcerting scene. There were several individuals who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, exhibiting behavior that made it difficult to focus on my shopping. It was disheartening to witness people in such vulnerable states, and their presence detracted from what should have been a pleasant shopping experience.

Not only did the constant disruptions make it difficult to navigate the store, but I also felt a sense of discomfort and concern for my personal safety. The erratic behavior and occasional outbursts from some individuals created an unsettling atmosphere that made it challenging to concentrate on finding the items I needed. I found myself constantly looking over my shoulder, worrying about potential confrontations or theft.

While I understand that businesses should aim to provide a welcoming environment for everyone, the lack of control over this persistent issue was disappointing. It's crucial for store management to address the presence of individuals exhibiting concerning behavior and take proactive steps to ensure the safety and comfort of their customers.

Furthermore, the presence of such individuals also impacted the overall cleanliness and tidiness of the store. I noticed a few instances of discarded drug paraphernalia in certain areas, which not only presented a health hazard but also underscored the lack of attention paid to maintaining a clean and organized shopping environment.

I must emphasize that my dissatisfaction is not directed towards the store's merchandise or staff, who were friendly and willing to assist when approached. However, the lack of effective measures in place to address the persistent presence of individuals struggling with addiction greatly diminished the overall shopping experience.

In conclusion, my visit to Superstore was overshadowed by the overwhelming number of individuals exhibiting erratic behavior. The atmosphere was unsettling, and it detracted from my ability to shop comfortably and with peace of mind. I hope that management takes this issue seriously and implements measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all customers. Until then, I regretfully cannot recommend this store to others who seek a relaxed and stress-free shopping experience.

Easily spend $200-$300 per week for my family of 5. First time I go to the new, Walmart-style self-checkouts, the lady rifles through my grocery bag asking what I just rang in, as I was trying to scan a double item and the second one would not take. No, "excuse me, I can help. " Just literally shoves her way into my bag. I am blind in my right eye, so her abrupt motion and question really startled me. I had to actually stop her and ask what she was doing. I want to make a formal complaint with the manager. Learn some manners and do not touch my groceries unless you ask first.

My experience at superstore could have been better.

As a store itself, this place is excellent. The aisles are well organized, fully stocked, and the staff is friendly, and eager to help. The cashier tills are quick and efficient, however, as an actual place, this place is, for lack of a better word, absolutely terrifying. There are people of the neighbourhood casing the parking lot almost every day, waiting for an easy prey.there is an abundance of sleeveless leather jackets, I guess vests? And far too many face tattoos.

This is a very unsafe environment. In fact, just the other day, I’m almost certain I witnessed a kidnapping.

The security of this establishment needs to be far better. I recommend having a dog or maybe 10 cats. But something needs to be done.

Rude employees and horrible checkout experience nearly EVERY time I have ever shopped here, and I shopped here multiple times a week! After a dehumanizing experience here on June 23rd, I will never be returning to shop at this Superstore location.

I usually buy my groceries from superstore because I have PC master card and it’s great product every time and known for more Canadian things means more respectful and friendly atmosphere
But today on self check counter lady name (amyla or almy) behave very rudely on my mistake of scanning different size if avacado than I bought and she looks for whole transaction like I am playing a game with screen
I am buying stuff from superstore more than 3 years and I know most of the features I had never experience like that in LLoydmisnter, Edmonton, Calgary location even in red deer as well first time some customer service provider making a trouble for customer and her main duty is to help and maintain clean screen and surface for all customers she even didn’t pay attention to sanitize a screen after each customer I watched her for 5 minutes and in whole things she didn’t clean any of screen area even 2-3 customers left on same screen
Hope authority can pay attention on this kind of stuff

Almost every single item I bought was either moldy or just a plain disgrace. The cream I bought for my coffee was not expired but came out chunky! The milk I bought was the same. The bread I bought was actually damp and moldy I bought a Case of Pepsi and it was moldy and one of the Pepsi cans inside of it was leaking everywhere. Please go somewhere else this place does not take care of there products properly!

When you call the store, and the automated voice comes on with options for the departments, the very second option is "specialty cake orders"
I called yesterday on my break, and was on hold for about 5 minutes until someone clearly picked up the phone, and then hung it up.
So I called to make an order today, this lady in the bakery department answered, then as I go to ask about the order options, she interrupted me and told me they don't make cakes? But then say, "oh actually we do, but we just don't put signs or saying on them, you just come in and pick a cake we made"
So then I said "oh okay" because I was surprised she cut me off, and it made no sense why their phone line says "specialty cake orders" only to be met with that response.then before I could respond more, she says "thank you" and hung up on me.ya. The lady who works in the bakery with a thick Russian accent isn't very nice on the phone. Thats for sure.obviously don't get your cakes from here if you want anything more than just a generic store bought cake.

EDIT:
I called back and talked to a manager, its due to covid, but they haven't changed the phone line options, and I mentioned how I was just told they didn't have cakes, and not given a reason why. So the manager said they would speak to the bakery. Hopefully this clears up any confusion.

Very very poor costumer service the staff are very bad and rude not recommending to any one
save on food is better.

It's Superstore.what else can you say. Dried cranberries are in the baking isle just a heads up because customer service doesn't even know.

The location attracts a lot of mentally ill, drug users and homeless people. There is almost always panhandlers on the premises. The store has security on site constantly but theft out of cars still occurs. They have long-term staff which is nice and the store is generally kept clean but the cashiers are less than enthusiastic about their jobs and quite often the price posted on the shelf is different than what you are charged at the till creating problems and a less than desirable experience.

Excellent service. Couldn't find something and I was escorted right to it. She even asked me if she could help me find anything else. Cashier was cheerful and very pleasant.

Great store, especially nice produce dept.
Now if you would just enforce your mask policy (which you charmingly call "mandatory"), I will shop there!

Their French loaf bread is amazing they always have fresh bread and great prices on deli meat this is my favorite place to grocery shop.

Love this place, excellent prices but they never ever have my favorite ice cream, but everyother super does it sucks

Hello everyone, this morning I came to the store as always to buy groceries and some fresh breads. The lady who's working in the bakery section was rude when I asked for fresh breads as every time and she's telling me to get from front. Why should I buy old ones which expires tomorrow.

I like the prices and they have pretty good produce (better than some more expensive grocery stores in town). The shopping baskets are not high quality however and I’ve broken 2 in my visits, which makes for embarrassing and awkward grocery trips. The shelves are sometimes empty of items. The area of the city can be a bit sketchy, though I’ve noticed security guards at times.

Worst, most disorganized grocery store in Red Deer. I only went cuz I absolutely had to. Never again. My god!

I love Superstore. The Red Deer location is always easy to navigate. The isles are always clear. Sales are great. Perks for PC Members.

Didnt have either of what I was looking for. I needed flour and they didnt have the kind I needed and I also needed a pair of pliers ur neither of the things I needed were available there

Not sure about the rave reviews on here. Not my experience at all. Homeless drug addicts roaming the parking lots on both days I went there. I saw 6 police cars rushing to the Superstore gas station (now renamed Mobil) when I first arrived. Must have been a robbery going on. Guys begging for money outside the store. Inside the store looks like any other Superstore, except not as clean. The garbage cans inside are filthy. Some of the produce looked like it was on its last legs. Staff was very nice though, and they work hard.

Okay except for (Devon?) /the gentleman from PC MasterCard who says that he can get everyone the black MasterCard because he just enters that everyone makes $150,000+ annual income on the application. I didn't appreciate someone approaching me several times in one visit and trying to convince me to commit fraud.

Best place for regular grocery shopping. Good prices, good store brand products, excellent selection.

The Pharmacy is a joke. We called in our prescriptions and they still took an hour, over the 3 hours ago we called it in, to get it ready.
If they were any slower, they would be moving backwards. It's not even busy so no excuse!

What can I say it's a Superstore the produce was very fresh there was lots of variety and overall the cleanest and the staff were quite helpful and yes they do have handicap bathrooms and handicap access into the store
