As expected, still have to compare prices, sometimes marked wrong and get overcharged necessitates trip to customer service and argument with unwilling staff to correct the issue, until asked for manager. Add the correct prices to your products and don't ask me to compare bar codes! I go by the price shown below the product.
For fresh produce, it's the right spot. Meat not so much. The prices used to be more competitive but after rebranding from green to blue is a stock in the middle. Its little brother no frills has better deals and co-op has better quality
I've shopped here many times over the years and I can safely say that the Signal Hill Superstore is the worst one in Calgary. It has a run down and old feel and it offers a much lower level of service than all the others.
The management doesn't seem to care about getting new carts on a regular basis. Most of their shopping carts have some level of rust on them and it's very normal for me to go back 2 or 3 times to get one that doesn't have a bad wheel or loud squeaks and rattles. I have heard that other Superstores refresh their carts every quarter but there is no way this store does that. I have even had the store manager paged to tell her about my bad experiences but nothing ever seems to change.
Whoever is in charge of ordering stock for this store has been shirking their duty and running on autopilot for a very long time. When you go to other Superstores, they usually seem to carry new and interesting products at a much higher level than this location. This store also seem to run out of more popular stock much more often which means they are not keeping an eye on things very well or simply don't care.
I hope the management reads this review and takes this seriously because this store needs much improvement in almost every category. I have shopped at probably about fifty Superstore locations all over Canada in the last 30 years.
If I could rate lower than 1 star I would. Do NOT fill prescriptions at this location. This pharmacy filled my wife’s prescription for 81mg aspirin with an entirely different medication!
We tried to call the pharmacy to inform them, but after placing us on hold, they hung up. I took the prescription to the store and the ONLY person who acted appropriately was the older lady at Customer Service. She apologized and tried to get the Store Manager to address the issue. Three calls, no responses. Customer Service then PAGED the Manager and eventually a lady I presume was a Line or Department Manager showed up. She never identified herself or her position. I told her the issue with the prescription. She told me I should talk to the Pharmacy. No apology, no offer to take a statement, nothing.
Went to the Pharmacy and spoke with Pharmacist on duty. Pharmacy Manager evidently was unavailable or disinterested. He thanked me for bringing the issue to their attention, made an excuse that the pills were actually for another of my wife’s prescription, and filled the prescription. Again no apology. After hearing the excuse about the prescription, I asked if it would have been good practice for my wife to take double of one prescription and none of the other, and he agreed that would have been a bad thing. I asked how I am to know that the pills supplied by the pharmacy are correct if the pharmacy makes mistakes and excuses No answer, and still no apology.
The prescription is corrected, however I would not trust this pharmacy to fill an order for coffee let alone medication. I also tried to go on line to Superstore Customer Service to provide feedback.damned if I can find anywhere on the website to do so.
Very good store. Customer oriented. Here in Canada there are shops that have different price tags. For example US products are cheaper in Walmart, Alberta’s products are better in COOP etc.
Overall I like Superstore very much, nice grocery shop.
Just entered store no trolley wipes asked nearest workers who were just stood there talking doing nothing! Told abruptly 'customer service! Sorry to interupt! Lazy rude self centered! ' Very rude! They then continued their conversation! And 15mins later still stood doing nothing still talking! Perhaps manager should be in more control and see what's going on in their dept! The very same visit horrible checkout girl my wife asked her politely to sanitize the conveyor belt which she pouted and sulked obviously in a rush to go home! Literally throwing food items down the conveyor when I asked her to slow down and give me time to pack she said 'Don't argue with me '? And continued? We made two transactions so after the first one which she stood with her back to me and the wife she just walked off? Another cashier came to complete our second transaction! We complained to the checkout supervisor who assured us she will be spoken too! Lol yeah right! We work hard for our money and spend hundreds of dollars a month on food from your store I do not want some disrespecting nasty person throwing my food down the conveyor because she wants to go home! I work in the customer service industry and would gladly train your staff in the art of customer service because obviously you don't!
The worst store in Calgary. I had a complaint about an employee who refused to help me find an item in her department! I called a manager and she wasn’t capable to actively listen to what happened, so I went to customer service and asked to speak to the store manager and at no surprise he wasn’t interested in listening either! Horrible culture in the Signal Hill store. Do not go there
This store felt neglected. Bunch of produce that has gone bad was still on display. Overall felt as a discount store with unappetizing merchandise except sold at premium price you would expect at higher tier grocers.
I am furious about the response from the pharmacy at Signal Hill Superstore. My husband & I received covid shots Apr 13 at that location. Our covid shot paperwork is virtually useless. No date of shot, no definition of it being first shot, no ID of the person that received the shot, only info is lot number of vaccine. After my husband became very ill after the shot, I called the pharmacy 5 times over 2 weeks spending hours on the phone on hold. Today was finally connected to manager after NO ANSWER AGAIN at the pharmacy, who then dropped the call. Called again, got customer service AGAIN, she was so concerned but could do nothing about the manager or pharmacy NOT picking up the phone.
After another long wait, pharmacy person picked up the phone who stated its their policy to not have any info on their forms. THIS IS NOT THE POLICY OF OTHER DRUGSTORE OUTLETS THAT GAVE MY FRIENDS THEIR FIRST SHOT. She stated due to covid shots, they are unable to attend to phone calls readily which I find unbelievable. She sais if I wanted to come into the store I could obtain additional backup documentation
It is not often I receive great customer service, but I did today with this Superstore location and I want to make sure they get a shout out for doing their jobs well, especially considering all they have had to deal with this past year!
Great customer service! This is my home location and I’m glad it is because I’ve never had an issue.well except for one bad steak meats situation but the manager handled the situation and understood how we felt! The cashiers are kind.
I just wanted to ask some questions about grocery if I can order ahead, no one was able to help and even store manager didn’t help. I’m not coming back. Definitely not.
Since the pandemic started we’ve been using PC Express curb side pickup about every other week.
Sometimes items are unavailable, but more importantly my order has never matched the receipt - not once. I always check before I leave and call back to make sure I get what I’ve paid for and they are always apologetic and friendly.
Half your order won't be avail by the time of pick up. The berries were completely crushed and leaking everywhere. They gave the wrong size on two items, even though I paid for large. I only had a total of 10 items by the time of p/u and half went straight in the garbage. Its a joke, don't do it
I like shopping here. Staff are friendly and helpful. This place can get very busy though on weekend morning so if you want to avoid the big crowd, go either really early in the morning or late at night like past 7pm.
Curb Side Pick Up - This service is by far the worst experience that I have endured in a long time. I have tried to be understanding but after 6 long months of not one online order being ready on time I am done. There is absolultely no reason that after 10 months of this pandemic that this store can not have this service sorted it out. Every order I place is late by hours, my latest order was due to be ready between 6-7pm (I did recieve a call telling me they were running behind and to wait for the email before coming to the store), when I recieved the email at 9pm saying the order was ready for pick up I headed out, only to find the store was already closed. They sent the confirmation for pick up at closing! Seriously! I've cancelled my insider subscription, I wanted it for those preferred pick-up slots that I not getting. The whole experience has been incredibly disappointing.
Normally no issue with this store but there's currently no offer of pre-sanitized carts. You have to bring the cart in and do it yourself. Kind of defeats the purpose, right? Just not a good look during a pandemic.
Often quite busy, but for good reason. Superstore is a great spot, sorted of an elevated Walmart haha a wide selection of things from groceries to home decor and a range of price points and quality. This is a great spot for the budget and quality conscious.
My husband went for curbside pickup after getting an email saying our order was ready. Waited for 20 minutes after saying they'd "be right out". Watched 6 people come and go and called again. Once again, they said they'd be right out. Watched more people come and go. After 45 mins, finally called customer service and the order wasn't even ready. Finally got the order and it was wrong and I was overcharged. Had to eventually go in anyways to get the charges sorted. I don't mind waiting, but just be honest about what is happening. Save-on-foods does a far superior job with curbside pick-up and they do it for free. I will definitely not stray from them again.
He finally made it home with the groceries and turns out in their sloppy haste to gather our things, they didn't realize there were multiples and I only got one of each item. Was charged close to $50 for $15 worth of stuff. We called to let them know and the person knew exactly what was missing. Instead of taking the initiative to let us know, they would have been fine just keeping my money. I have yet to receive a refund ten days later.
Never enough cashiers open. On average it takes a good half hour to check out due to inadequate front-end staffing. Staff in the isles is unhelpful, a lot of expired items. Make sure to double check expiry dates on everything at this location.
I've seen a number of employees in the vegetable isle with their masks not covering their noses.excuse me, please keep your covid off my food! Management must get get on this breech of the law!
Second time they messed up a online order. Items were missing. Phoned the store and was told that they would refund it to the mastercard, still haven't received the money for the items.
Curbside pickup: There's no way you can rely on the orders to be ready as scheduled. They have ruined our Sunday dinner 4 times now, including tonight's - Jan 10th 2021.
Well stocked and lots of staff to help. Would not recommend the express pickup option as the wait times can be upward of 1.5 hours if you don't get a parking spot right away.
A real Canadian Super Experience (the worst customer service ever). Please do not go at this place after 9: 00 pm. Employees just want to leave and treat you terrible. Not even the manager is willing to assist you. Manager if you and your employees do not want to work until late close the store at 9: 00 pm. But do not stay open to treat customers with no respect, no courtesy and no willingness to serve. Only one cashier and with cero intentions to do the job in a diligent way. I would suggest to the Manager to go to any Walmart and learn how to treat clients, what is customer service about and what should be the role of a manager when is requested by a client. Shame for you Manager of Signal Hill Super Store. You have no clue of what your job is about.
Been in line for over 15 min to drop off prescription and no one is bother to show up. No one picks up call either. Worst pharmacy to dela with. Stay away from this one.
We’ve used the click and collect many times this year. Besides the workers not wearing the mask properly, the staff have been great. If there were any missing items, expect it to be 3-4 months for a refund! That’s ridiculous but I don’t have the energy to argue with them.
