Recreation Centre Pool

The outdoor pool is a blessing. If you come from Calgary, where you have to book to get in. This pool is great! No booking necessary, not a big crowd
Usually only 2 to 3 people per 50m lane. Guards and staff are friendly. Best place to swim in the summer.

How nice come from DAWE because they don’t let you go into the pool, which is empty, saying that there are a lot of people,
to rec WHICH POOL NOT WORKING EITHER.lifeguards are rude and yelling on you

3 days in a raw.for what I’m paying my pass?

I would give more stars, but at the moment, the recreation center seems to have it in for the over 55 people who are regulars here,
Monday, Wednesday and, Friday over 55 lane swim has been canceled as has our aqua size class on Tuesday and Thursday, which coincidentally happened to be mostly older people, I think this is called age ism? We are getting pushed to the Mitchiner pool, if we wanted to swim at the Mitchiner pool that's where we would, but it's not convenient for me that's why I swim at the recreation center,
The recreation center is happy enough for the older generation to swim during the winter when it's -25, I think what is happening at the recreation center this summer to the older people is disgusting, nice to know you think this treatment is acceptable to regulars who swim at this pool, public pools should be available to anyone regardless of there age.

Great steam and sauna, staff is super friendly your always greeted with a hello. Will never stop going!

Love love love this pool, has something for everyone. A hidden gem, tucked away under the coverage of beautiful trees, a beautiful place to swim under blue skies. A baby and toddler area, shallow end with lots of pool toys and a huge deep end with 2 working diving boards. Also has a great indoor pool with a good hot tub and sauna. My favorite way to spend a day

First time, went to indoor pool at around 1pm not alot of people and no kids so happy about that, seemed clean showers worked well, pretty happy with it all around.

This is our favourite pool in red deer, the deep end is half the length of the pool for people that like underwater swimming, it’s usually fairly empty so you have lots of space to yourself and the water always appears the clearest and cleanest out of all the swimming pools in red deer. The fitness centre could use a little updating, the cardio equipment at the Dawe is much better in my opinion but the addition of free weights makes the Rec centre a better choice for me. The outdoor pool is amazing in the summer although it does become quite busy that time of year as it’s the only outdoor pool here.

Great atmosphere, love the aqua aerobics, hot tub is nice but always on the almost too hot side. Get out feeling like I'm about to pass out. Life guards are great, I've been checked on more than once, love the outdoor pool!

The outdoor pool at the recreation centre, downtown red deer is by far a family favorite! 2 diving boards, a kiddie pool with a slide, a shallow end and a deep end make up the outdoor pool area. There are lounge chairs for viewers to sit in, but not a lot of them so get there early to claim yours. The rules, this year, are children under 8 must have adult supervision within arm's reach, at all times. It's very reasonably priced, less than the other 3 rec centres in red deer because there aren't any field houses or gums attached. There is a workout gym though. The change rooms are roomy and clean. The entire facility is well managed and we are always excited when it opens for the season, and sad when it closes. The indoor portion of the aquatic centre is open year round. It's nice too and has a hot tub and a sauna. Overall, a great facility!

I take my son here every weekend.we love it.its close to home.its very spacious and accommodating to families.very friendly and helpful staff in the pool area and at the desk.they interact with everyone they encounter.it's beautiful inside and out.there's choice of swimming inside or outside (in the summer). Few other thongs to do in this building as well. I definitely recommend this place

Facility good however some of the people that frequent it aren't the best. Watch for theft in locker rooms and occasionally creepy shower conversations

Great pool, very clean. Hours kind of suck for people who work during the day. Great choice for the weekends though!

Great pool for lap/lane swimming. Diving boards inside and outside. Open later than I was expecting it to be.
