Zero star! Rude, incompetent and slow. Asking questions felt like squeezing toothpaste.
The person there told me some different answers than what I read on the provincial website, so I asked him again, just to make sure. Then he straight up told me “ya? Then go to another registry, then he said, if you knew the policy, why do you ask me? ”
Well, sir, if you can’t answer questions or can’t understand what it means by being in the service industry, maybe change another job.

This used to be the goto registry of choice but now that they have gone digital and require me to use my phone to check in this place is trash. My privacy is invaded as a result. This should not be allowed. This helps push us closer to a digital ID and money. I will never use this registry again.

Postal service is exceedingly slow. Customer service not a priority. Waited about 40 minutes on a weekday morning. No sense of urgency or apology from staff.

Terrible service and incompetent staff. I came to pass my driver's license exams. I brought my Ukrainian driver's license and their translation and Ukrainian passport (these are the documents the employee told me to bring)
I gave my documents and they told me "bring a work permit"
I returned home, took the permit and returned back. I hand over the documents and they told me “where is your confirmation of the address? ”
Why can't you just say about the full package of documents!? These workers should be fired. This is unprofessional and a waste of people's time!

1. They give incomplete information about the required set of documents, you have to go to them several times
2. They increase the waiting time for documents
3. All answers are like: something like that, we are not sure exactly, maybe it will work, maybe not.

Never come to this registry. They have service fee which only this registry is charging all customers. Have been to multiple registry and they don’t charge. Go to NE registry Sunridge, taradale or NW. This registry is a legit scam. Pulling money out of common people.

Complete lack of communication on the staffs part. We went in on two separate occasions and both times there was no communication. All they do is push papers at you and tell you to sign. They don’t tell you what your paying for or signing for. I had to go back in after and ask why my payment was so high because the agent didn’t explain this at the time, he only pushed the machine at me. When I expressed this to the lady at the front all she did was shrug. I would not recommend this location. They don’t seem to care about anyone that they’re servicing. So much for government services this is very typical.

You can’t enter more than 1 person into the lineup virtually unless you each have your own phone, or you’re supposed to go to the desk to interrupt them to get put onto the list (their words, I was shocked their solution was interrupting them)
They are also the most sour/bitter people I’ve worked with at a registry, but it was my first time coming to this location

I have been there before and recieved very good service. But my last time I delt with a Middle eastern woman that was very rude and unprofessional. Poor customer service with I could give negative stars.

I didn’t mind the new digital queue, although if it was anything but a mild day it would be annoying being told to leave and not having a place to wait.

What actually annoyed me is that they charge a fee to use a credit card, and since they also don’t accept “tap” payments I wasn’t able to use my Interac card.

I’m pretty sure it’s against most credit card vendors’ terms and conditions to charge a fee… but to actually be charging a fee over and above what they’re actually paying is downright annoying.

Our family just moved back to the country after living overseas for years. Adding onto the top of the transition,it is the first time for us to live in Calgary. Getting re-plugged and re-activated in the social systems constitutes a process demanding both time and energy. Worst customer service. Went in to try and get my new Alberta license the lady at the counter was so rude and unhelpful ended up leaving and having to go to another registry office to get my license sorted. If you don’t want to come into work just call in sick or find a different job

This Registry has been around a long time and has come a long way. The same family has owned this from the beginning so it is fun to see how the next generation of the family has seamlessly then over the reins and progressed this business through the Pandemic era.

I was impressed recently when I arrived at the end of 2020 on a particularly busy day and they had pagers that they would hand to you that go off when it is your turn to be served. NO WAITING IN A SILLY LONG LINE WONDERING IF THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU HAVE COVID19!

You simply take the pager and sit in your car alone. It significantly reduces the contact between you and others and definitely increases efficiency.

The staff here have been around forever and are therefore quite knowledgeable so even if you don't know quite what to ask they will be able to interpret what you need.

The post office here is also quite handy and Hassan has easily worked here for 15 years now so he knows what to do. His soft-spoken nature keeps people calm especially during rushes where people are anxious.

Let's see what other Innovations come through this Registry in the future.

I went to this registry to renew the AHC and driver license and services was awful. People was quite rude and did not know the rules or process and were unable to explain in a clear way what was required to renew the AHC and treat me really bad in front of my 10 years son - terrible experience.
I do not recommend this registry at all and the next day (today) I went to the registry at 10 Ave an the experience was amazing, people were very cordial and kind, willing to help and they know the process/system and provide a solution.

This is literally one of the worst registries in the city. I avoid going here at all costs. Since it is a business and they make a profit off every transaction, i suggest going somewhere else.
The wait times are insane and the staff are rude.

I cannot walk well and do not own a car. I needed to get a government picture ID. When I arrived, I was told that I had to provide proof of address in the form of a bill or other mailed correspondence. There had been no mention of this when I called a week earlier to find out what documentation I needed to provide. The agent gave me a bright smile and said he didn't make the laws. He seemed to be enjoying himself. When I asked the receptionist why I hadn't been told about the requirement when I called, she just shrugged and said she didn't know.

I went back only because my circumstances made going to another Registry prohibatively difficult.

If I could give NO stars I would. Complete incompetence. Paid for a rush registration for the document to sit in the outgoing mail for 11 days. Rush means it's supposed to go out that day or the next at the latest. Not the first time this has happened.

Whoever the lady was at the front help deck needs to learn how to treat customers with RESPECT. Heard her call a older lady on the phone AND sorry we don't know exactly how it works. So she started yelling at the person on the phone as im standing waiting to be helped then I go to ask a question when it's my turn. She laughs at me not knowing I needed the paper and not a picture of the bill of sale. If I was her boss I would have kicked her out on the spot and the manager even came up and at least he was respectful and asked the person on the phone to come in and they can help her. I decided to leave and won't be going back. I was blown away at the way she was talking to customers and the disrespect and anger was in her voice

Always have a great experience here. Last week a different registry gave me all sorts of wrong info and was pretty rude about it& I ended up wasting 2 hours.
Went to marda loop and got all the answers I needed and got everything done in no time at all. Really appreciate this location

They weren’t very kind, he told me to leave go somewhere else and made me come back 3 times to get a car signed when it was all signed correctly (he thought they were fakes) I was at a lost because they were genuine signatures and I wasn’t sure how to correct the truth. I was a new driver at the time and a little Empathy would’ve been nice. I don’t know if you guys were going through stuff and I empathize life gets tough. I just hope you understand that empathy goes a long way.
The counter clerk was a man and the paper says Sasha. This isn’t hate, I just hope whoever reads this hopefully see a different perspective that your action are remembered and as a young woman, it was a hurtful experience.

I know you must deal with a lot and I want to thank you for doing that because I know it’s not an easy job. You’re appreciated and all your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed.

The gentleman was so nice and help me dealing with my nervous
He talked to me the whole test to make me feel confident and comfortable
I did everything perfect and at first with no problems
I'm very happy and satisfied

I was going to go there today for health card services however changed my mind based on the once again, extreamly long telephone holds, inexperience of staff and lack of knowledge they seem to have when asked basic questions about costs and other health card related questions. If you are answering a phone call, you should have some BASIC knowledge regarding the services you provide. I have called this location 3 times now because it is closest to my home and for some reason the same person seems to answer, puts me on hold for over 15 mins only to tell me she doesn't have the answers to my questions and to please call back in 30 mins to an hour. That is very unprofessional and frustrating especially when you are new to the province and need answers on how to get things done. I would hope their service and employee training improves.

Literally the worst registration office ever. There should be an option for negative stars. They don’t deserve a single star. All three things I’ve gone there for have been done WRONG costing me excess time to go down and have each one fixed. They’re also unbelievably slow. And now they're harassing me to come back to help them fix THEIR last mistake. Even if this is the closest one to you (like it is for me) do yourself a favour and drive elsewhere. Their ratings say it all.

Extremely slow staff (and there’s only 2 of them working! Fun!), small crowded space with barely any seating, and just generally ghetto (paint peeling off, musky smell). I’m shocked that this place is in Marda Loop and not Forest Lawn. It’s not worth the wait when there’s other registries within a 10 min drive.

I have a bill of sale on a dirt bike with the white out on the year. Was asked to get it initialed by the seller. Came back the next day with the initials and white out is still not acceptable. I asked to simply type in the VIN and you will see that the year matches the bill of sale but still not acceptable. These people are just robots. Might as well automate the service might have a better experience.
Went to another place, registered bike no problem and even got a smile.
Something wrong with the Marda Loop angry robots!

Every time I go to this registry, I have a good experience. Here, I was able to accomplish multiple tasks and the staff member who helped me was kind and very efficient at his job. If you’ve ever been to the DMV in America, you’ll have a new appreciation for a great place like this. I also love the convenience of the combined postal office.

I'd like to leave MINUS stars. I have been in 4 times to get one package, and been on the phone with Canada Post about this issue for nearly three hours today. A supervisor AND an investigation officer agree with needed identification yet the owner manager here refuses to give me my package.

Canada Post even called in to tell them what is needed yet they refuse to give me my mail. I even brought in more than required (passport, package slip (which is a proof of residency) and had previously given and could again give my internet bill with my name and address on it (proof of residency #2, not needed) AND could give other forms of ID, yet the manager is withholding my packages and tells me he will never give me my packages if they have my business name on it but not my real name, not without proof of owning this business that is AT MY HOUSE, which anyone can make up a name for any business or alias name to protect themselves at any time. This is 2019 and online businesses with fake names to protect from identity theft and doxxing and such is a VERY COMMON practice among people with any following, for anyone who has strangers send amazon parcels or other items.

Business cards are ridiculous and not proof of owning a home business. Anyone can get them done at vista print. Legally it is not required. I can prove I live at the address AND have photo ID.

AND the attached Registry does illegal practices.

Renewing a driver's licence you have to sign a legal document stating that you have given your residential address if not the address on the ID (ie: if your address on ID is a post box, as is the case for all rural people or those with permanent long term addresses if they move a lot or keep a permanent mailing address somewhere else). Yet they refused to take my residential address and that HAS caused me issues WHEN VOTING! That is serious!

This place is terrible. Beyond terrible. I hope Canada Post makes REAL consequences and retribution for their agents illegally withholding mail.

Being nice when they feel like it to SOME people is NOT 'good service'. I feel bad for the poor staff who have to work under this seriously disgusting manager.

Staff were abusive. It was not just bad service. The owners of the postal franchise (that also own the registry) have been witnessed harassing a member of the public, and ignoring federal statutes. That person had no choice but to request her mail be sent to a different outlet.

Please boycott this business. Please stand for our Canadian right to pursue our livelihoods free from discrimination.

DO NOT USE THIS REGISTRY: The owner (Azar) and his team take your money without providing services as agreed upon. They admittedly made several mistakes to my paperwork which resulted in incremental costs and fees. They then hijacked the completion of my documentation until I provided him with the money he alleged was due. I've reported this to Service Alberta, as his license to operate should be revoked.

Both agents behind the counter were very slow and unmethodical, and were totally disinterested in maintaining a normal customer service environment. In the last month I've done an address change and two vehicle registries. The last registry was done at Marda Loop Registry. The registry I did at Marda Loop Registry took close to 10 minutes after I had already waited for about 15 minutes for the 2 people in front of me to be helped. I had all my papers in order and ID ready to go. No curveballs.

The agent was also very hard to understand. She mumbled and I had to put my hand up to my ear to gesture I couldn't hear her every time she started to say something to me. It didn't help that the office had what sounded like a small air compressor or very loud refrigerator going in the back counter area the entire time I was there.

At the end, I asked for a new insurance / registration pouch and was told the government doesn't require registries to provide them. I don't think the people working at Marda Loop realize how much much worse they are than other registry offices. In addition to all this, last summer after waiting for a similar 15 minutes behind just a couple people, the agent refused to register my vehicle on account of my bill of sale having a small correction in the word version of the selling price. "Thousand" had been corrected to "hundred. The registry down the road had no problem with it.

My other registry transactions took place at Richmond Road Registry in Signal Hill Center. They're very on-the-ball and easy to work with. Bedside manor: Good - save for some mild, garden variety DMV agent irritability. So it's not quite like Disneyland, but honestly I'd drive past 2 or 3 other registries to get service there.

Do your thing, Capitalism.

Avoid Mohammad, the road test examiner, he is bad mannered, incompetent, dishonest, and he will confuse you as he is not good with giving directions. He also works at Urban and Macleod Trail registries so please AVOID - emphatically.

I am astonished by the amount of negative reviews on here. The staff here have always been extremely friendly and polite. I have been going to this registry for years even though I now live in the N. W. It seems people are making reviews based on not being able to accomplish service because the customer service representatives have to follow the provincial governments policies. People need to understand there is a difference between highly controlled/monitored/regulated industry and the hospitality industry.

I would give this place no stars. I had an encounter with the owner of the business who was very rude and had a terrible attitude. I went there to have a commissioner of oaths sign some papers. Although I got there when it opened I had to wait 45 minutes to sit down with her. Five people got to go ahead of me because she was taking a while with her second client of the day. When I sat down I had noted I had been there 3 times but as she had been sick the first day, and I had waited 45 minutes the second time (and was still number 6) and had to leave, I was back and needed it done today. She asked me what it was for and I noted this. She then said I had an attitude and would not sign. I said attitude in what way.she said I was pushing her. I said what did she mean. She noted that because I said I had been there 3 times. She again said she did not have to sign. I said I had been waiting 45 minutes and that I had done nothing wrong. She said I needed to apologize. I said for what. She said because I had an attitude because I had said I had been there 3 times. She refused to sign so I left. I never raised my voice, used any profanity nor did I use abusive language. I did ask for the owner's name as I wanted to follow up with the Commissioner of Oaths office in Alberta. It was her. She gave me her first name and refused the last. She said she did not have to. I had used this registry a few times in the past because of proximity to my home. I will say I always had to wait a min of 30 minutes so the service was not always the best however I have never had an experience like this anywhere in my life.
I went to the Richmond road registry to get a commissioner of oaths to sign my paper because of the Marda Loop owner's refusal to do so. I will say I will never go back to the Mardaloop one. The Richmond Road Registry had 6 agents, 2 -3 of whom had commissioner of oaths status and I waited 10 minutes! The service was exceptional. The people were nice and it was a great experience. Marda Loop usually just has two staff and there is always a wait and no smiles nor pleasantries ever. This is the first time I had been served by the owner and definitley the last.she said there are many registeries out there and I agree. With an attitude like hers and the poor service her business gives, I sure hope these other registeries get all her business as she does not deserve to stay in business.
