Personally not a big fan of the drinks. My favorite dish is the palak paneer wrap. The sauce that comes with it is just a perfect pairing. Will come back from time to time. Price is on par with other restaurants for the same item.
The prices on the chicken Chana wraps have consistently gone up from $8.95 to now $14.40 Too expensive we are now going elsewhere. The atmosphere in the Remedy Café is full of students nowhere to sit.
That cup policy is nonsense. Whether it’s a city by-law or not, it sucks. Just wanted a coffee in a to go cup but I would sit down for a few mins and the lady at the counter nonchalantly said it would have to be in a mug. Also not the cleanest looking Remedy location. Terwillager Towne needs new coffee shop!
First, I was greeted by a Persian God, then followed by the other Persian God, and then! Flavours melted in my mouth and it was like butter. We had the greatest time but could not hold conversation due to the blast of flavors. The Wrap was fantastic, butter chicken made with saffron was amazing, the Chai latte was made to perfection. My mom comes here all the time and has the best study time, I come here and enjoy the ambiance, the people, the food and service is amazing, and terwillegar has been blessed with this Cafe. Thank you! You guys are great.
Eaten here a few times and it was always good. Chai teas are excellent on every level, and the Dirty Iced Chai hits a new level all together. Big time study spot, which can be insanely annoying if you want to eat and there is no tables, but i think they ended up finding a "remedy" for that issue. Great local spot.
Don't bother tipping here, they somehow can't remember to put the dipping sauce with their wraps. Multiple times in the span of a couple years, just won't bother ordering from here at this point.
Such a funky coffee shop! Great menu with a large and varied selection of drinks and snacks. The chai tea and samosas were fantastic (I reccomend the duty chai). There is a lot of seating available, unique artwork, and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely visit again!
Customer service is a 10/10, the energy is lively and the ladies at the front, most especially Rayan, are very kind. Food and drinks are delicious. A calm and relaxing environment to get some work done:)
Great food and great atmosphere. The view from the large windows on a cold snowy day made me feel as if I was in some restaurant in Banff.
I had to reduce the stars today.
I went there again today, I ordered Tandoori Chicken wrap. The food was tasty, a bit salty, but it was anything but Tandoori. It also has chickpeas in it! Strange.
The addition of dividers because of Covid is a good addition to the restaurant. Had the Badaam tea. It was quite good, but some almonds felt like they have the old oil sort of smell. Just a few. I kinda ignored it. Will definitely go back to the only coffee shop in the area.
I cannot believe that you are unable to enter this cafe for a takeout order if you are not vaccinated. This is unbelievable and extremely sad to see this happen. I will make sure that I never visit this remedy ever again as I am extremely disappointed in this decision.
I've been a LONG time supporter of Remedy Cafe (7+ Years) Today I was denied service because I will not submit my body to an experimental vaccine. I wanted a simple Chai to go and was told I can't order or enter without proof of Vaccination. Honestly broke my heart to have a business that I have been supporting over the years turn their back on me and my money over a vaccine that doesn't even work. I will not spend another dollar here now or in the future. Sorry not sorry.
The blonde lady was quite rude when I wanted to order 2 slices of cakes and i felt she purposefully cut the slices much smaller than the usual portions that we get.
Not worth the $15.
Not only that, when my fiancee had ordered awhile back, the same cashier she treated her bad as well.
Were not planning on going to this location and willing to drive to White Ave since they have much better service.
The staff wasn’t friendly, informative, or happy at all. I came in asking for soup and the blonde girl behind the counter acted like my question was stupid. I’ve gotten lentil soup from remedy before in the dt location and always loved it. I proceeded to ask for a cold remedy hot tea and have the two tea bags on the side instead of inside the cup but that seemed to be an inconvenience for her as well. I didn’t get soup cause apparently “they never had it and they never will”. I did, unfortunately, get the two tea bags on the side w a hot cup of attitude before I left.
They are going to ask you for a vaccine card, phone number & name before you entering the café. Not going there anymore. Their food quality is getting worse by the way
Remedy Café was ok. If you’re already in the area and you want to meet someone for coffee then Remedy isn’t a bad choice. Is it good enough to go out of your way or to take someone someplace special? No. Probably not.
My chai latte was better than average when compared to a place like Starbucks – and easy 4 stars. Is the best I’ve ever had? No, but it is definitely better than most. It seemed pretty clear to me that they truly care about the quality of their product.
The quality of service wasn’t quite as good and would rate as a two-star below average experience. It’s not that the staff was rude or lazy, they were civil, but indifferent, to the customer. Making you feel welcome, showing joy in service, and taking pride in their work were all noticeably missing. Who knows? Maybe they all just went through some terrible tragedy the day before. All I know was that you couldn’t buy a smile for a hundred dollars the day I was there.
The quality of the atmosphere was also a two-star experience – definitely below average. It was quite evident that this *used* to be a trendy little coffee shop, but the years have not been kind and the place has not been well-maintained. Little things like holes in the walls, chips in the paint, mis-matched light bulbs, mis-matched chairs, and worse than average level of cleanliness indicate that creating a good environment to share a cup with a friend has not been a high priority here.
Overall Remedy Café was an ok experience. Better than average drinks in a worse than average environment. Not bad, but not awesome either.
Stopped in here for a drink on a bike ride today. It has a really cozy and comfortable patio area, front and back and I felt very calm and content. The Iced Macha Latte was delicious and so was the carrot cake MMM Definitely a little gem in the neighborhood. Will return again!
Ordered Coconut Chicken Naan bread and rice from Skip. It was So watery and Bland. 3 PEICES OF CHICKEN in the entire bowl. But don't freat there was 9 prices of bell pepper in it and absolutely 0 coconut. Naan Bread is clearly store bought and Tastes like its 3 months old. I WOULD RATE 0 STARS IS AVAILABLE. AVOID THIS RESTURANT LIKE THE PLAGUE. I would post pictures but can't unfortunately.
The butter chicken wrap and the Badami chai (both the hot and the cold) are sooo good! My husband has celiac and they have GF wraps for him, which makes this one of our favorite go-to places for take out.
While my friends and I frequently go to Remedy around the city, we found the service at this particular location below standards. It was a simple misunderstanding from milk substitution request that escalated into an uncomfortable confrontation from the barista. Although the food was good we will not return to this location.
EMBARRASSING. Ordered coconut curry and it was like soup. So runny and watery. Overloaded with bell peppers, couldn’t taste anything else. The order was for my husband who is allergic to bell peppers, even though the menu did not state the dish contained them. The naan was stale and paper thin. Will not be ordering again, don’t bother with this place. A two day old 7-11 hotdog would have been a better meal. Disgusting and disappointing.
Not good. Do not order any food. The chai isn’t terrible, maybe a bit expensive for what you get, but the food is truly awful. There aren’t any good alternative coffee shops in the area, but Remedy is still a waste of money.
Food and drinks are good but there was someone behind the bar without a mask and have a running nose. I saw people (customers) without mask waiting outside of the café but then there's this person (owner or employé) working there without any mask and having a running nose while normal public respect all the guidance for covid.won't be going back there anymore at all
(funny how the owner doesn't bother to answer the negative reviews)
I ordered the butter chicken wrap the other day and I thought they gave me the wrong order because the wrap was yellow (curry spice flavor), had chicken, rice and peas inside and came with a sweet cinnamon sauce on the side? I called and they said they will give me the correct order next time I was there. I went to get my corrected order and it was the same thing. I'm not sure why they call it butter chicken wrap, they have a butter chicken entree which is actual butter chicken. The wrap is not butter chicken very misleading! I have had actual butter chicken wraps other places many times. This is more of a yellow chicken curry wrap. It was good and they were very nice to give me a free wrap but they should really change the name it really doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
Two very good wraps, but the Kashmiri Chai was weak and, for some reason, full of flower petals. This is very different from the previous same drinks at other Remedy locations. Took them home and strained out the flowers so we could drink them.
A proper cup of coffee in the Southwest. Though I don't feel Remedy to be a premium coffee in Edmonton it is truly a proper cup. Remedy is light years ahead of Starbucks and not even in the same galaxy as Tims. This spot in particular stands out. There isn't much in the area that would compare to Remedy in the area, it stands out. If I was was on 124 St.or on Whyte Ave, Remedy wouldn't be my first choice for a cup of coffee however in this lovely little spot it is truly an oasis.
My boyfriend and I went tonight so may 25 2019 to get some food and use the machine at 11: 46 pm exactly there was girl in there with a guy friend we went to go in and she said sorry we're closed well last time we checked you close at 12am well you guys missed out in 100 bucks never going here again hire people that actually want to do there job. Not cool sorry we might have been tapping into your Netflix and chill night either way not good business
It's definitely a unique place with an extensive menu and chill vibe but caters more to the crowd that is unfamiliar with Pakistani/Indian food with very appropriated versions of this food sold at soaring prices!
Im reducing my stars because I'm tired of the staff in this location. I come here often because I love the food and chai but the staff are not friendly. They never smile. They're bitter as hell.
Good coffee made well and a delicious variety of food to choose from. Service was friends and our orders were made very quickly and accurately as well.
Very cozy cafe with insanely good Chai teas and other notable cafe favorites. Cannot understate how great the wraps are! Terrific Indian inspired food. Great location.
Has the potential to be good but atmosphere ruined by the majority of patrons using it as a library. 90% of the customers have laptops out and buy one drink, stay for a few hours and hog the tables. Feel sorry for owner as they could be doing much better business if family’s were more welcome. It’s a pity.
Terwillegar is so lucky to have this local. I've only ever seen it busy in here, for good reason. Great food and drinks, it was always a reason to go for a walk over.
If you are looking for selection, Remedy is one of a kind with all kinds of drink customization. They specialize in Chai’s but could definitely improve their Espresso grind. Wraps and samosa’s are great value and lots of flavour. The perfect ”remedy” anytime of the day.
I did not like the cake I ordered. It did not taste well, was quite dense, and did not seem fresh. I had taken 1 bite.
I brought it to the front and was told there was nothing they could do. No switching it out or no refund. The staff working said that since there was nothing "wrong" with the cake, there was nothing they could do.
Then both staff just turned their backs to me and walked away, leaving me at the counter, with no solution being offered.
Remedy is or was a favorite of mine. They have amazing chais & good food. The customer service however can go either way. Its hard to get a smile from those behind the counter most times and this does matter. We walked in with 35 mins left to closing and they said they were no longer making beverages. This I don't understand. I understand closing the kitchen 30 mins prior but not drinks. Since then my visits have been sporadic at best.
Love love love this place - the coconut fog is to die for! All the Indian food is fabulous, I'd recommend the paneer wrap super filling so you don't need a side. Great vibes here, even love the graffiti in the toilet stalls!
What’s with the prices? Nearly $8 for a breakfast bagel. $11.50 for a wrap of chickpeas, rice, and microwaved tandoori mix chicken with no side. The food tasted just OK, but not for the laughably inflated prices you think you can get away with charging. I'd also like to believe the ex-employee testimony I read on Reddit a couple years back: all food here is not fresh. It's shipped in and microwaved. Everything is just.microwaved.
Loved their Kashmiri (pink) tea. Even though prices are more but I guess that's what you pay for speciality teas and beverages. Tried their much acclaimed cheese cake it was ok nothing specia.l A decent late night hangout.
Really cool place that serves a variety of speacialty coffees, teas and Indo Asian inspired food. 3 locations in the city. Twilleger seems to always be busy. Highly recomend the Kasmiri Chai.
