I tried Remedy's Kashmiri tea. While the taste was good, it was not the authentic and traditional Kashmiri tea, which I was expecting. It was more of a chai latte type flavour. Moreover, considering the cost, I found the quantity was not enough.
The 2 Chai and 4 Samosas deal is great. The Chai’s were even a bit too big. Atmosphere wise the place is a bit outdated and saw better times. Still worth for a quick stop.
Update: still amazing, been away for 5 years and came back to have my fav (butter chicken dish) and a london fog.still amazing as ever! Very happy and just happy that this location has survived and hasn't changed much.original: I am a regular at this location. Always great & friendly service. Not a long wait time for drinks. It does get busy, during the evening. Though it is a very nice place to enjoy a cup of your favourite drink and food item and relax. Love it here.
It's surprising that mediocre coffee shops are so popular. 80% of coffee shops in Edmonton do not know how to make coffee. The atmosphere of the Soviet Union. Coffee and food for 3
Sadly no more do we get to enjoy the signature Masala Dosa or Chole Bhature as the renowned Chef Raju is no longer with Remedy; however we enjoyed the green chilli chicken wrap and tandoori chicken wraps prepared by Chef Sanjiv served with green and tamarind chutney; American misto served in the large Remedy mugs served by the wonderful barista Wurii
Seemed the parade was on Jamaican time. Tired of waiting so ducked into cafe for badly needed caffeine. We were rested and settled by the time the floats rolled by.
Good atmosphere as you can see so many people working on their laptops. It gives a good feeling if you want to work on a project. Nice coffee and tea. But they are quite pricey. Do not expect samosa to be similar to what you find in a typical Indian restaurant.
The kashmiri Chai with pistachios and rose petals was amazing though it was a bit on the sweeter side. So the next time, I asked for half the sugar and it was perfect. Service is slow but I think it's worth the wait. Prices are a bit steep for the drinks but not bad for an occasional treat.
A great Edmonron story. Many creative menu offerings. High quality food and coffee. Many interesting choices for tea and coffee based drinks- as well as other types of drinks.
Still the best Chai around but I feel like the samosas have shrunk? At $2 each the samosas are much smaller than what you get at various other restaurants in town for $1 but they are very tasty and the sauce at Remedy is the best. Also, nothing beats the butter chicken wrap at Remedy but it is also priced higher than a variety of other Indian restaurants in town. The food here is always very fresh and consistently tasty though!
Polite and friendly staff. Staff was very helpful with picking a drink. Desserts were excellent try the peanut butter and marshmallow square or the chocolate brownie with nuts
The service was super friendly and patient as I took my time with my order. They have tons of options for those who aren't friends with Mrs. Lactose and their butter chicken wrap was to die for. I work down the street and it's so nice that a great, affordable place is within walking distance, will be back very soon!
Such a delicious Dosa by chef Raju. We are so lucky to have such a great chef like him. He was so generous and polite with us and served delicious food with smile on his face. #Raju_TheGreatChef #deliciousFood #RealIndianTaste #excellentCustomerService
Usually I enjoy this place, but I had to choke down the palak paneer last visit. Unfortunately the flavour and quality has depreciated since my regular days. Consider Nosh as an alternative, hands down better. Good place for drinks still. $$
Ah i found out about this cafe while on a union educational. One of my colleagues that lives in Edmonton suggested it, and i do not need to go anywhere else to eat. I will always stop here when in Edmonton. Unfortunately last time i was there i lost my debit card and it never did show up!
I dont know when I will get a chance to be in edmonton again, since last time I was there in March 2019 everything has pretty much turned upside down!
Hey Remedy, do you deliver to saskatoon? Lol, seriously though can you?
Great unique place to be. I like going here by myself, there is such a cozy and comfy atmosphere here. And i always crave for their kashimiri chai or vanilla roiboos its always hard to decide. I love the treats they have by the cash but i always always crave for their cakes. Red velvet is soooo good! I had chule bature (i think thats how u spell it lol!) Such a great comfort food, so filling and feels so healthy.
Service is amazing, food and drink are all delicious. Atmosphere is what you expect from whyte ave, very trendy. Certain drinks like the kashmiri chai have lots of garnishes, it helps to ask for it without the garnish.
Such friendly staff, free wifi and such an amazing menu! The staff will defiantly help with the menu too! I love coming here to study! Their chairs are so comfy! It’s always pretty busy, but the crowd is a bunch of university students or business professionals! So it’s a good place to hang out, enjoy a meal and do some work! There’s outlets pretty much at every table! I love how there’s an upstairs and a downstairs! And you can choose a table, old chair etc! By far the most convenient place for me as a university student, as it’s open until 12. Those nights I don’t want to be stuck at home there’s a decent coffee shop open! Love, Love, Love
I had dinner from Remedy cafe 2 weeks back. Only good thing I like was, it is open till mid-night. Food was very expensive but not worth at all. Good for coffee lovers as they have good coffee selections but not a good place at all when you are really hungry. I ordered nan with coconut curry. Nan was good but the chicken was not up to the mark. Even though very expensive, it is a very popular place.so, may be just I didn't enjoy.
I once loved this place as well but the ‘absolutely no panhandlers’ sign in the window ended any chance of a visit from me again (my friends won’t be visiting either).
I used to love this place but it seems to be slowly going downhill. The staff used to be cheery and fun, and as of lately they don’t even say hi or crack a smile when you walk up to the till. Prices seem to have gone up pretty drastically, I just paid $15 for a latte and breakfast bagel.
I have been going to Remedy since my university days and there was only the one on 109th. The owner was always nice and welcoming, making the chai fresh everyday. I have found the quality has gone down since it expanded. Maybe unsurprisingly. However, in my effort to find the perfect non-dairy flat white in Edmonton, I gave Remedy a go. I find the coffee tasted bitter, burnt almost. I will not be buying again. But maybe you will like it? Btw, I used soy milk. It was heated too high and it curdled the milk. When is oat milk going to be offered?
It's good. The only thing is they dont mix the drinks well when they make them. For example, Kashmiri Chai is good but it always have a blot of powder at the bottom as you are finishing the drink.
Don't bother ordering with Click Dishes. Despite placing an order in advance to save time, I still stood at the counter for more than 5 minutes as no one would even make eye contact or say hello and I could see my bag of food on the counter behind the cashier. Also, make a special request for a sauce to be switched with the order, not acknowledge or done at all. Didn't realize until I was already back in the office and at that point it wasn't worth it to go back. Food is good, but the service is frequently rude and flustered. I definitely won't be ordering online at the very least from them, such a waste.
