Extremely rude and confronting staff on the phone refused to give name and refused to answer basic questions about check in times, instead of understanding what was being asked told me to listen numerous times and then went off on a different subject than I was asking about. Second guessing my reservation.
Conveniently located in the Edmonton airport. Once you enter through the sliding doors to the hotel you are in a modern artistic escape. The beds are comfy and the room is filled with conveniences perfect for the busy traveller. Warm, friendly staff from the front desk, restaurant and conference team. The food is delicious! If you have time for breakfast the pancakes are amazing! All our meals were tasty with great portion sizes. The menu has a nice variety of choices for diverse palettes. Had a great stay over a few nights for a conference.
We stay anytime we have an early morning flight. Prices are reasonable, nothing beats being able to walk right down to your flight with no worries. Rooms are clean, spacious, great work station, love the shower and amenities. Beds are so comfortable they're hard to get out of. Room service is promt. Customer service is beyond 5️ The bar adds another level. Food, drinks and service are worth travelling to the airport even when you're not flying.
Very good location if you want to stay near to airport, no breakfast included in the price that’s the only reason I have a less start. Otherwise it’s good
I have been staying in this hotel since the opening. Unfortunately, they have gone under many management changes and they are currently at their worst. As gold elite member they do not honour room upgrade. They used to have Nespresso coffee in the rooms with actual cups, they have switched kcups and cheapest coffee you can find with styrofoam cups. No more individual shampoos and conditioner they have switched to motel style refillable wall mounted. No more water, robs, and slippers in the rooms. The resturant has gone through many menu changes and the food is becoming uneatable. The bar tender is as good as draft beer and wine. Stick to simple pub food, no fancy food. Steaks are always over cooked and tough, you know the drill…. The location is the only thing that is convenient!
My favorite hotel ever. Clean and modern and artsy. Rooms were impeccable. Breakfast at the restaurant was so yummy. Staff were super friendly. I would fly to Edmonton just to stay in this hotel.
I’ve booked in 2 rooms for our family for Christmas Originally, I was comparing the other 4 star brand hotel, I spoke to JM I believe he is a supervisor that I spoke with he accommodated my requests. I felt that I’ve been taken care of. He had a great customer service skills. And answer all my questions Because of this it made me decide to just go with this hotel. Thanks JM! I will definitely update my review once I get to experience the hotel itself. Looking forward for our mini stay.
Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating when my elderly mother who is in a wheelchair had to stay overnight because of a cancelled flight and then another cancelled flight in the morning. Thank you for making her stay so stress-free for all of us.
Stayed here for business and found the hotel to be better than I thought. Was modern and very clean. I enjoyed the décor and the staff were excellent. A little pricier than nearby hotels but the convenience of being at the airport is enough to justify.
Always fabulous friendly service. Reasonably priced and a great way to start or end your vacation if you depart early or arrive late, just walk to/from hotel room and relax. Would definitely do again. Bar service always great with good beer selection
My parents and I visit the hotel with my 5 year old son for staycations. We absolutely love love this hotel. We love the staff they are so friendly and caring. From checkin to check out it is 100% what we expect, it’s so classy. The rooms are so spacious and clean. The bathrooms make you feel like your in a spa every day. The breakfast is to die for! Chocolate banana waffles! Um yes please! The bartenders all know a wide variety of different drinks. Very tasty! The waitresses are so happy and full of life. Knowledgeable about everything on the menu. It’s definitely a bumpin place at night. Butternut squash soup! Omg knock my socks off! Thank you very much! We also love the pool and hot tub. I appreciate that they are only allowing a few small groups at a time. Depends on circumstances. All in all it was a wonderful time, we will be back again soon! I can’t wait!
Pros- -most of the food is excellent from the restaurant -comfy beds and quiet on the airport side -funky styling - in-room climate control - really nice shower
Cons - - the coffee in the morning was so weak I thought it might be tea. Awful. -the bathroom uses a big glass sliding door, when it closes the gap is so large you could put your arm through. Be prepared for whoever you're staying with to hear every sound of your bowel movement. -loud funky music in the lobby that makes you have to speak like you're in a club trying to check in (made worse with masks and plexi-glass in the way)
This was our second stay here at this hotel. First time was Jan 2020 and our stay was great. Unfortunately this time was the pillar opposite. First the pool was closed for “maintenance”. Out for the day returned to an unattended room. Called the front desk informed since covid they will not respond to the make up my room button which we were not informed of at our check in. No problem they sent up house keeping as we were on our way to the hotel restaurant for dinner. Well unannounced to us the restaurant was closed do to covid understandable however it would have been nice to know this when we booked the hotel or even when we checked in not when we came to have dinner. Well that was an unfortunate surprise. Fine we had to make a change of plans went to dine 30 minutes away however when leaving the parking we were not able to exit because our parking pass said expired. I called to reception and they explained It should have been for the duration of our stay and I had to go back to the front desk to get a new parking pass. At this point yes I was irritated but the girl at the desk was kind and accommodating and sent us comp dessert later in the evening. When we returned from dinner realized my daughters night shirt was missing looked through everything nothing then believed perhaps it got mixed up with the bedding when house keeping came as it was white like the linens. Called the front desk again which they had them look and to no avail. So not a big deal my teen is out a $35 animal crossing tee. Lastly on my Karen rant before I sleep and check out never to return to the Renaissance Marriott I go to take the milk out of the fridge for my little ones bed time bottle and yes the fridge is not running and I got spoiled milk! Yes this was an awful stay perhaps due to covid and things not being tended to and mistakes happening but it did literally leave a sour taste in my mouth!
Top notch staff, funky styled rooms. The views of the airport are great (if you are an avgeek), but the service takes the cake. Fast, courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly. If you are there to do some planespotting, you can even look at the arrivals and departures boards right on the room tv.
I love this hotel. The girlfriend and I try to book in here at least 3 or 4 times a year. Fantastic atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff and the head chef at the halo bar is an absolute powerhouse. Highly recommend staying here.
It's too out of the way and remote. Unless you really know your way around that area it's so easy to get lost which I did for two hours in dark back roads. I was terrified.
Beautiful rooms wonderful fast room service the tandoori chicken wrap was amazing they charge a 17% gratuity so my beer was quite expensive other than that the room is gorgeous I prefer a bath over a shower and my room had a shower
Nice, clean hotel, attached right to the airport-would never stay anywhere else for layovers. The hotel restaurant also has reasonabley tasty food that is a blessing when everything else is closed or not accessible within the airport.
For what we paid it was a nice clean building, rooms were a step above, for a new building for sure. House food wasn't great but good we left satisfied with what we paid and had a good night asleep. A bell person would of.been nice to top it off.
We booked a suite and pool time over the weekend and had an absolute blast. The restaurant food is amazing, they have included breakfast as well. Portion sizes for the food are HUGE! The room was gorgeous and the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating! Truly a 5 star stay with our kiddo who's been begging to go swimming somewhere and get out of the house. Perfect place for a little stay-cation with super reasonable rates! We got a room facing the runways so my daughter was freaking out when she got to see the planes take off up close, without any noise whatsoever to scare her! Thank you to all the staff for everything! Highly recommend visiting (and get yourself a New York Strip off the dinner menu, so good)
If anybody is searching for great deals for hotels head to ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ. ᴄᴏᴍ booked a resort on there and these guys had the lowest prices anywhere!
Nice, clean hotel, attached right to the airport-would never stay anywhere else for layovers. The hotel restaurant also has reasonabley tasty food that is a blessing when everything else is closed or not accessible within the airport.
I've stayed here mutliple times passing through the Edmonton airport and really, really like this hotel. It's a stylish, yet very comfortable hotel. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Guest rooms are beautifully designed, and are a good size. Beds and bedding are heavenly to sleep in. Excellent wifi. Bathrooms are modern and well stocked with Aveda brand body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. The fitness centre is well equipped with lots of cardio machines and weight machines/free weights. All in all, an excellent airport hotel, and the best part is it's attached to the terminal, so you can walk through the "disco/night club corridor" to get to it - no hotel shuttle needed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
My every months stay, via my company, i like to stay.the only thing bothers me is i see something like a spy cam or something inside rooms.never bothered to ask anyone but if its a spy cam might not have any privacy.if they read this might answere
We had our wedding here and we were not disappointed. The service exceeded our expectations. Food was amazing and everybody loved it. Even with COVID restrictions in place, it was a very easy process with some changes and nothing bad is to be said. The communication is excellent and we highly recommend this venue to anybody looking for a wedding space. The ballroom looked spectacular and the all the staff did an amazing job plus they were the best to work with.
We have stayed in this hotel few times now. Never been disappointed. Such a glam hotel with nice view of runway and planes! My son loves seeing planes landing and take off from the big glass window. The rooms are so bright and modern touch in every places including the washroom. Highly recommend
Everything about this hotel is great, except the background music. It is WAY too loud. It is extremely intrusive almost making basic conversation impossible. As a business traveller, I stay at other hotels because of this. If you stay here, you’ll know what I am talking about.
Super convenient as it's linked directly to the airport through a corridor. Room was good, super clean, and the beds were really comfy. Would definitely stay here again. Runway views are good as well.
Attended a function at this hotel, and I have to say it's beautiful! I would highly recommend the banquet room for any kind of function. The buffet was not only delicious but the food was inventive and every portion was made with care. If your looking for a wedding, Christmas party or otherwise I'd put this place at the top of your list.
Beautiful hotel! The decor and furniture are very sleek and new age. The atmosphere was very welcoming. Loved the cool LED lights and music along the walkway into the airport, felt like a party! One of, if not the nicest hotel we have stayed at in Edmonton. Now that we've been we will be back!
Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are very clean, and the beds are amazing. If you're looking for a quiet clean place to last your head while traveling, you can you wrong at the Renaissance.
We stayed at the hotel last week We checked in around 7: 30 p.m. The music was so loud in the lobby that the receptionist had to yell to communicate to us. I suggested they turn down the music because it was difficult to hear. I was advised by the receptionist that they were unable to turn the music down as the Renaissance Hotel's policy was to have the music at this level. I was appalled! I also wondered about Worker's Compensation Claims being filed by staff for hearing ailments. Obviously the policy makers have not consulted with professionals in the field regarding how the brain works and hyper-stimulation. Many people travelling experience hyper sensory functioning. What this means is that their nervous system is easily overwhelmed by sounds, smells, visual stimulation and touch. In addition people that tend to be anxious or have anxiety disorders are already in a hyper-aroused state and intense environmental stimulation will intensify their internal state. After a long flight no one needs to be exposed to a bombardment of sensory stimulation. I write this to hopefully influence the powers that be to reconsider their policy. My only complaint with the hotel was with the loudness of the music, there were delays in checking in and thus with the extended exposure to that environment we both had headaches by the time we arrived in our room. The bed and room was comfortable once you get through the lobby experience.
Great location within walking distance of most gates in the airport. In my opinion trying to be too trendy. For instance when I checked out at 5: 30 in the morning they have the speakers blare with music. I asked the morning staff why the music was on and they say that's a corporate decision. Hey corporate. You don't need to blast music out of the speakers and be trendy at 5: 30 in the morning. That being said the rooms are clean and new.
Brand new hotel connected to Edmonton Airport. Staff is friendly and polite. Room was very nice and comfortable. Highly recommend this place and will definitely stay here again.
Great hotel. Customer service goes above and beyond. Rooms are modern and upscale and very comfortable. Have stayed here twice for work and have been very happy. Will they to stay here whenever I am back for work.
Fine. Weirdly nightclubby. Loud dance music and lots of lights, but probably a decent place to make friends with other travellers. Probably a better stay when I'm not doing 14 hour days.
What a great place to have meetings, fly in and fly out. The rooms were clean and they were available for us as soon as we arrived. The club room is light on snacks but breakfast was great. The meeting room was nice and the food was wonderful. Both days we had a great variety with lots of options. The staff was great in making sure we had everything we needed from checkin to serving staff. They had a fun ritual after work where they served everyone a drink from an ice bowl. Great place to visit.
If I have to stay overnight after a long drive to the airport, this is the place to come. I booked ahead however they do take last minutes. I request a quiet quiet room and they accommodate me every time. Maybe a bit extra in cost, however the convenience way out ways any anxiety you may have.
Great hotel with an awesome staff always ready to help with whatever your needs are. Rooms are clean and modern. We enjoy the pool and fitness centre. So convenient to stay here, especially if you have an early flight.
Love the lobby and restaurant. It's like a euro disco. Pumping music, good food, fine design.
I haven't stayed here (I live in Edmonton) but literally every single person who visits my company and has stayed here raves about it. Almost want to stay here.
Horrible service. Our air conditioning was broken, noticed at about 230 am. Finally called the front desk at 7 and they sent someone. Told we could move rooms, but we were only there for one night. Mentioned this at checkout and was told I should have switched rooms. I did not expect to get a free night, but an apology at least would have been nice. We splurged to get this hotel room because a friend was getting married there. We were treated like we did not matter, and then got reprimanded for not calling in at 230 am. I do not recommend at all. Hotels that are much nicer train staff to be polite and not condescending.
An oasis following a ten hour haul from St. John's, this eclectic hotel at Edmonton Airport oozes whimsy and alleviates your weeriness as soon as you enter the ramp leading to the gloriously colorful entryway.
Every amenity seems designed to take you somewhere, and you feel as though you can't possibly be at an airport. Perhaps rather you've just entered a futuristic Shangri-La. I wondered at one point if I might have stumbled upon a scene fro the Grand Budapest Hotel and Bill Murray would appear around a corner out of nowhere. Anyway where was I.
Oh, yes. The rooms are also delightful, with quality decor and comforts galore.
The service here is impeccable, the staff extremely knowledgeable, attentive, comforting almost.
The whole experience is somewhat surreal and I highly recommend it.
Refused to help us when we were in Edmonton due to a cancelled flight. Only had a "deluxe" room left and claimed the room wasn't big enough for our family. Wanted us to take both rooms. Found a hotel less than a 5 minute shuttle away that was more than accommodating.
The hotel was unique and felt quite modern. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. The reason for the lower rating is that, in a nice hotel, you would expect the climate controls in the room to not sound like a jet engine winding up. I ended up waking up every time the unit cycled and slept poorly.
Nice chic hotel. Cool place to chill if you have time to kill at the airport. Otherwise decent. Tamanna was very helpful and courteous with my parking pass.
Went for business conference, great meeting rooms and really good food. They have bigger coffee mugs (not the little shot glasses of coffee other places supply you with) and tasty food.
Great hotel for what you pay. Modernized rooms with a really funky hip lounge. Service is great and rooms are very well kept. If your looking to get out and have a great time go check it out. You won't regret it. Attached to the airport so if you have friends or family that are flying into Edmonton it's a very convenient place to stay.
