Repsol Sport Centre

Had an amazing experience signing up to the MNP Centre. Zach at the customer service desk really took care of us and made sure he even gave us the option to refer a friend. Really enjoyed the way that we were dealt with and excited to be a part of this gym.

I started seeing Brett Sandercock at MNP 3 months ago. Having never gone to a trainer before, I was very impressed. We reviewed my goals and he designed a plan for me which pushed me outside my comfort zone but which wasn't impossible to do. Brett is kind, flexible, knowledgeable, reliable, and knows how to design a training program and motivate people so they can achieve results. I would highly recommend him.

More of a question than a review. Do you people use water filters in your water bottle refill stations? Or is it tap water as I’m suspecting.

My experience with the swimming pool was pretty bad.
For the biggest recreation center in Calgary, it's outdated, over crowded and expensive. The large pool had lots of bandaid in the deep end! The steem room is small and over crowded. The changing room has no privacy whatsoever, something of the poor old past!

The staff are super great they deserve all the respect please respect them after all they are there for everyone's health

If you smell strong chlorine in a pool, you should probably get out. The chlorine smell is overwhelming and headache inducing. Its roomy, so at least you don't feel packed like chickens in a farm like at Good life fitness.

MNP is fantastic value for the price. My husband, Mom, and I are addicted to Danny’s yoga classes. Both his flow and strength classes are incredible. His strength class is a must for anyone looking to improve their yoga practice. The only thing I would change is to have a yoga class Fridays at 9: 30am as well, and yoga classes later in the day on the weekends.

These guys let me down by telling me I was buying a summer long pass, and then just selling me a 30 day pass and being unable to fix the issue. It’s a nice facility but not worth the trouble to use it.

Stopped my membership. Why? PARKING! How does it make sense to have customers who pay a crazy amount of $80 a month and make them park in the Casino parking but yet you have people who come to watch events park in the lot? Riddle me that? Makes no sense and very frustrating

Closing times have been changed to “summer schedule” meaning 1 hr earlier each night. Much confusion about when each section of the facilities close.

Telling members to look on the website or read the newsletter for the updated closing times is not a good idea… if you are already a member, why would you look at these things? An email should be sent to members specifically to address opening/closing to be transparent.

After response: So in a nutshell, posted everywhere people don't look once they are a member. Next time an email addressing specifically changing of closing times is the best way. Thanks

MNP offers classes 7 days a week. With 2 pools, a dive tank, an awesome spin studio, a yoga room, 5 gyms and an extensive weight and cardio equipment area, there's something for everyone.

Jacob from customer service went above and beyond tonight helping me find my lost swimsuit! My favorite one that fits just right!

Lots of creepy people, theft, and vandalism. Used to be a nice and relaxing place but not anymore.

The facility is well kept, and equipment is good. But Dusanka, who works at the front main desk was a pleasure to deal with to say the least. Her kindness and helpful attitude encourages me to keep coming back to MNP Sports Centre. She is the best!

This is a long overdue, positive review of Repsol's Personal Training Program.

I’d like start by saying Brett is one of the most genuine and caring people I have met. I love the results we have achieved in such a short period of time and I am super excited to keep going. He ensures to tailor your workout to the appropriate level, while still ensuring you are making solid progress along the journey. He took the time to understand my goals and preferences before Day 1 and it showed in our sessions. He was also flexible with my schedule.

Overall, it's a great atmosphere, no judgement, and help is always round the corner. Thanks, Repsol.

One of the worse swimming pool i ever been to. The dive pool is always closed which is the main pool people go for and jacuzzi is not even warm. Most of the main pools are always closed and they say its because of employee shortage. Like if its my problem

I felt shocked when my friend Am told me about his experience at repsol. So bad a facility like repsol to be managed with bad customer service attitude.

I am a friend of Amr and from my friend experience I don't recommend any paid sport program at Repsol. Very bad customer service.

Great facility but they have hands down the worst website and online portal system for members to book classes and find information that I’ve seen in a long time. Quite surprising for a facility like this to have such a terrible IT/website team.

Hi Guys

It has been weeks. I am trying to use this facility for Badminton, dive tank or the track.

I work during the day like everyone else and can't come to the facility until after work which I come in the evening to ensure it's less busy.

But,
the track is booked for some other activity,
the dive tank is booked for some other activity or closed,
I try to use the facility for badminton but all courts are booked for pickball or basketball and when the badminton is open its is half the gym (2 nets) which gets taken over very fast. The courts are always open for basketball only rarely for badminton.

Then I try to show up on the weekend to use it in hopes of availability and once again I have the exact same issues the entire facility is booked for some event.
The whole reason I activated my membership was to be able to use the dive tank, gym for badminton, or track and those are the areas that are always booked weekday and even weekends. I would like to be able to use them for once and I am very tired of asking the staff and I never get a straight answer from them.

So this is a sincere request to see if you guys can do something about this because I think as a member it is fair to expect to be able to use the facility after signing the contract and paying for it.

PS - I have spoken to many other members that have the same issue as me.

Amazing facilities. We have been using it while it was still Talisman. So much to do inside. The website however is the worst to navigate specially when trying to register for a program. Repsol web developers should consider reviewing it. It is also not possible to reach Repsol by phone although there are often 2-3 people at the front desk (same as while it was Talisman and I didn't have that problem)

Wow…this place has gone way downhill since it was Lindsay park in the 90s. The dive tank is almost always closed and when it’s open you can only jump from the second level. The first time we came it was fully closed and only lane swimming was open and I got yelled at for jumping off the starting block. This place is not worth the 15$ admission with their lack of open facilities they should be ashamed of themselves for not telling people stuff is closed or restricted before they make them pay to get in and find out …

After waiting for 2 hrs for kids pool we start to enjoy with my kids exactly 10 min a lady instructor came & said we need half the pool what an inconvenience situation. They've to follow the schedule
Second when entering the pool I've ask6to show ID what for it's Policy. Everyone's information is out there for no reason. They don't have enough reason to register everyone's ID for drop in users. They need to drop this policy.

We joined as a family last December. It is perfect for a family membership. My only complaint is my kids like to play badminton and they have no restrictions on how long someone can play for, there are some families that always take over the entire gym and court and bully younger kids out of there, and management does nothing about it. It is unfortunate that they let these families take over the entire court just because they show up a few minutes before the courts are open and they let their other family members filter in and out of the courts while everyone waits. They should have restrictions on how long someone is allowed to use a court, there is one huge family in particular that will play for like hours on end and hog the entire gym. They are also allowing tons of people to walk around without masks all over the place but every gym is having this issue. The only thing I do not like is they have no time restrictions on their courts.

Basically echoing Nicholas' comments: I came here often under the Lindsay Park banner. It's great to see a huge facility well-managed and accessible to the public.

Last month I left Goodlife and joined Repsol. Goodlife was fine but, as a jogger, was attracted to Repsol for the indoor track that I can use when weather is too extreme for outdoor running. At first was hesitant because I wasn't sure if the weight floor would be too my liking. I am pleasantly surprised. Although there is a volume of people there, the weight room is massive eith tons of equipment and I can do a workout with no
waiting.
This place has something to offer to everyone, whether you're a indoor jogger, weight lifter, swimmer, gymnasium sports and list goes on.
There are so many other services offered. For example, when I joined, I took advantage of a free "inbody analysis" that measures stuff such as body fat %, muscle mass etc. I had this service done by Samantha and was pleased by the great info she provided.
Both fellow customers and staff are decent. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable.
In conclusion, I am very satisfied with positive experience of Repsol.

No where else in Calgary that I would rather be a member. Large facility with a little bit of everything. A variety of exercise classes, large resistance training area with cardio machines, weight machines, free-weights, olympic lifting platforms, pool, hot tub, track, gym space for basketball or racquet sports. Equipment is maintained, facility is kept clean and staff are friendly and helpful if needed. I anticipate a very long term membership for my family and I.

Took the family to go swimming because it said online that it was open everywhere in the pool. Once we showed up half the pool is closed and they did not update the online website. Very upsetting.

It is impossible to speak with somebody on the phone. I have called numerous times and different hours to ask about COVID protocols and they are impossible to reach. They try everything imaginable to redirect to the website that does not provide the information you are looking for.

I would not recommend Repsol if customer service is important to you.

Facility is modern and nice.

Going to goodlife or gold gym, Feels like they don't want more members they trying to get rid of their members. Unprofessional manager and she's Bad costumer service.

They will not cancel your membership.
Lost my job just after everything opened, and I emailed them asking about it. They replied, saying I need to send this: "I (member's name and barcode) provide Repsol Sport Centre consent to cancel my membership and refund any credits to the credit card number provided on my Repsol Sport Centre membership contract. "
That was 3 months ago that I sent it, and they have not canceled it. I have sent that 4 separate occasions, with no response and money STILL being pulled from my account. My next step is going to the bank and getting them to cancel the auto payment on my credit card.

Ive been with them 5 years This place used to like my home I used to train 6 days a but I did a big mistake and they banned me I hope If I have another chance to go back there one day

Customer service is Zero. If you manage to reach someone they hang up. This is not how a city run facility should operate especially since we pay from city coffers to support the facility.

Drove all the way from red deer to an appointment I had and had to wait hours to finally get in. Very disappointed with the service I was provided. Have to pay a no show fee if you arrive late or not show up but they are okay with making you wait a few hours to go in.very unimpressed

Cristina McDonagh is the best massage therapist I have seen in Canada, in the last ten years. She is a deep tissue master, and has a great awareness of pressure needed and what pressure can be tolerated.
I would recommend her again and again. Thank you.

I used to love this gym but the way they are handling the pandemic is ridiculous and unfair to its loyal consumers. All other gyms are open and repsol can't even answer their phone for questions? It keeps saying view our website for more details but when you search the web site it's never updated with no info on anything.if they keep this up I'm going to be going back to goodlife it's cheaper and more convenient.o yea and they open their door as soon as restrictions where dropped and they probably answer the phone when COUSTMERS call!

Great to drop in because reception is friendly and kind. So easy to drop in and so quick to pay. I sometimes wait over 20 minutes at other canadian pools for a drop in because there is always some sorta problem, computer tech crashes/difficulties or not having enough change in the cash register so they have to wait until the manager gets a new float lol. But repsol reception team is lightning fast with the drop in process!

My daughter took her Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross here and the instructor was wonderful, facilities are very clean and comfortable!

Been going to the Repsol Sport Centre since 2018. I love doing Yoga here and the group classes. Jill, Renee, Nicola, Leah, Mallory and Lori are just the best. I feel welcomed and I miss it so much right now being closed. They are working hard keeping us safe. I understand that it can be confusing but some members don't see that at all. To give this place a one star shows that they only care about themselves and not others. They had to space out the lockers and divide things because of the members like this. When asked to wear masks, they didn't. Wake up people, this just isn't about you and your simple easy lives, this is about keeping everyone safe! They have to make it this way and it changes due to anti-maskers carelessness. The Repsol Sport Centre has been doing a great job with what they are faced with. Thank you for caring when others don't. Picked these up with my member points the day before the 2nd wave lockdown. See you guys back on the opening day!

During a pandemic, Repsol has refused to cancel my subscription. I am a teacher, and have made a conscious effort to limit my exposure in public. I haven’t used my membership in November at all and will not be using forward, because it isn’t ethical. Repsol has refused to cancel my membership. There is no empathy at all. In a time when most people’s lives have been turned upside down, this facility is happy to be taking my money, for a service I can’t use. Incredibly disappointing!

They have a new scam where they "socially distance" the free lockers meaning it is impossible to find a locker most days. The paid lockers are, coincidentally, not "socially distanced". Absolutely abhorrent.

Also, they've now taped off the water fountains, literally depriving people of water. What new evidence has come to light to suggest water fountains are a big transmission vector for covid19? Who knows. Just another indignity to suffer through for a virus that has killed just 1 in 6500 Albertans.

Probably the only full size pool in Calgary. Hosts large sporting events and international races. Large venues and arenas.

I have been going to repsol for 4 months now and have absolutely fell in love with the facility, specifically the pool. You are always greeted with friendly lifeguards who will help you with any questions you have about lane space, lessons, etc. They have kickboards fins and other equipment for the public. I have a knee injury and love that after a swim I can do some rehab for my knee. I use the steam room, cold tub, and then hot tub 3 times which has helped my knee tremendously. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone.

Good place for swimming, it has been quite clean all of the times that we have visited. The only downside to this facility is the parking. Depending on the time of the day that you visit will mean driving around the lot looking for an empty spot. At times this lot has been full and you will have to park in another pay lot and walk over.

Gym has tons of equipment, great place to work out. The classes are also really good. They have a hot tub, cold tub and steam room for after the gym as well. Staff are polite and helpful

Amazing facility and pool, lots of room and VERY CLEAN! I have been swimming here for over five years, and the staff are all very skilled at their jobs, and very personable people. I always enjoy coming in and will recommend Repsol Sport Centre to all my friends and family.

Very nice sports complex. Two 50 meter pools. Indoor track. B-ball courts. Weight room. Dive tank. Multiple coffee and food options. Free parking.

Every gym place shld be like repsol sorry center. They have everything including free parking. I love this place

Pretty awesome facility.
The bleachers could likely be doubled in size for viewers during competitions as there is not enough room.
They keep it updated.

Repsol seems to be a pretty good facility on their pool side with nice hot tubs, pools, etc. However I personally was very interested in the diving boards particularly the 7.5m and 10m. On their website it says no one can use them under the age of 16 which is fair until you get their and they tell you cannot use them what so ever. Their website does need to be updated and they also didn't allow me to dive off of the 5m. They said for reliability purposes after i purchased my drop in. Personally I have always wanted to jump fof the 10m and would love if you guys implemented a waiver so I cannot sue or anything, that would be wonderful. Other then some flaws on their website its a pretty good place.

Awesome fitness center. You can get a deal if the family membership is purchased. Sometimes can get busy, but who cares ;)

Repsol is a great place for the family. There are so many activities you can do. The facilities are well maintained. Parking can get busy on weekends.

Beautiful facility absolutely. If you are not an elite athlete they do not value your business one bit. They have absolutely zero respect for the public lane swim customers. Online schedule very often does not reflect reality, they can not be bothered to modify when they make changes because they do not value user groups that are not teams etc. Staff will be rude and dismissive and simply make excuses or defend their unprofessionalism- think snotty millenials obtusely rolling their eyes at you and clearly stating that their convenience (ie laziness) matters more than integrity to paying customers. If you don't mind essentially being told to suck it up and deal, gruelling 50 meter lanes despite the online schedule saying 25 m lanes available then this is your place. 100% staff convenience takes priority over customers. No respect or accountability at all. Imagine your favorite restaurant has an online menu and they list your favorite dish as a special and when you arrive to enjoy it you are told that the ingredients are in house but the chef finds it annoying to cook and your disappointment is treated as if its annoying and no big deal. Even if you suggest perhaps they should take it off the online menu and staff literally openly roll their eyes at you. If you enjoy a 25 meter lane swim with ropes- go elsewhere.

When I got out of the hot tub my skin smelled like the inside of my ten year old hockey skates. Puke-worthy, and i dont jave the highest expectations when it comes to hotel pools and public bathing: (The facility has so many great things to offer and most of it is probably outstanding. But the public pool was so far away from the change rooms, it was bloody freezing in the place (I understand humidity control but yikes.), and the hot tub thing was just so repulsive.
Interested in everything else there is to do there but would never bring my child here and dont think I could bring myself to go back.

Best value work-out facility. Pools, two tracks, clean, tons of weights, friendly staff and lots of classes to choose from. Only downside is on the weekends it can get quite busy with swim meets. Parking is a problem if you don't arrive early. 6 month commitment, after the 6 months you can cancel.

Very very very disappointed with the new rules regarding the diving towers. This is the only facility in Calgary that has 3m-10m diving platforms. Too not allow the use of the upper two towers 7m-10m, to the public without paying for a private coach or paying to join a team is ridiculous. And ruining the opportunity for people to acquire these skills and develope skills that are useful in many aspects of life.

I have been going here regularly for years to train my Ariel awareness for skiing. And now if i don't fork over ridiculous amounts of money for training on techniques I don't require is ubsourd and infuriating. My friends and I have been coming here for years, bringing friends from all over the province and spreading the word of the amazing training potential this reacrational facility offers. To have this ripped away to become a massive cash grab is the opposite of a community minded facility and For that reason I will make sure everyone i know and anyone who is interested in diving does not a associate with this facility or any programs that run through here. This is so disheartening and I hope that Repsol finds a way to make it accessible to the general public and not just the well off, like it has been for years. You have ruined something very positive and are ruining the community supportive foundation this facility has offered for decades.

This Another massive corporation to worried about the next big cheque than the actual impact they have on society and it's ruining our youth. I will not support this facility or repsol until they give there heads a shake and break this cash grab mentality there are instilling upon our public recreation. What a joke!

Great infrastructure but that is where the positive commentary ends. The customer service and attention to detail here is seriously lacking. Each of the past three times I've come I've been thoroughly disappointed by Repsol and the staff. The customer service agents have zero agency to correct issues as they occur. Once my pass runs out, so will I. Too bad because it is great infrastructure and convenient for me.

Love this place cause it’s got so manny different things you can do in one place. I’m giving this less stars because I am a member who mostly swims when here. It can be extremely unorganized at times and feels like they care less about the lane swimmers then they do there program groups. It gets really frustrating sometimes. Most times you have to plan you workouts at weird hours so it’s not crazy busy and then a lot of the times even when it’s slow they are opening and closing different lanes or even pools so your constantly having to pause your swim to move and find another lane if there even is one without a ton of other swimmers already in it. Also the one hot tub they do have is usually full. You’d think they could make another one or something for the amount of people who use it or for when the only one they have gets shut down witch seams some what often. What bugged me the most today and the reason why I’m writing this is cause I got here for a swim and of course the one pool was open and busy but the life guards weren’t even bothering putting the lanes out or had already pulled them over to switch the pools so It was a mess. Landed up sitting in the hot tub for 20mins waiting to see what they were doing then leaving cause I wouldn’t have enough time to do my full swim by then anyways. Rant over. More committed lanes are needed that don’t switch every hour

This place has everything including great physio services. My knee is great for skiing because of the physio team there

I like talisman centre better but, when I used to go it was massively spacious, and lots of room for all sports. Front desk staff was always very nice and had just about everything you could possibly need. Great place.

Lindsay park is right behind this facility. It is an amazing place to go for a walk, either on the weekends or during the week over lunch. There's a historical landmark on the far north side. Worth the effort to check it out

The best gym. If you go to the gym after 8pm its never too busy, staff are all very friendly and helpful, equipment is all fairly new, and they keep it very clean.

Gross people don't shower after steam room before entering cold tub/pool/hot tub. Other than that great place.

Wonderful facilities for all kinds of physical activities. Swimming pools are great too. A bit busy but not feels crowded at all. 5 for sure.

Great gym in the city! Space is a little awkward, but lots of equipment. Their memberships are competitive with GoodLife (~$60/m), and offer many more amenities. If you're a non-member, keep an eye out for their retro pricing days where it's under $5 drop-in (which is otherwise $15).
