Residence Inn by Marriott Calgary South

The rooms are nice, large with a full size desk and a kitchenette. The view from my room was kinda disappointing. I got a corner room and was excited at first but was pointing east and could only see a perking lot and the room of an annex of the building.

There is an exercise room and a pool with a waterslide.

The staff were nice and helpful.

The location is on the edge of the city which is nice if you are trying to get out but you are limited to the services of a stripmall across the road (there are some nice restaurants in there).

Breakfast is your standard buffet and could be a bit better.

The coffee is pretty bad. Coffee in the room is the one cup machine with those little trays holding the paper bag of grounds. The regular and decaf trays look identical. The coffee in the breakfast buffet wasn't any better.

Our experience was not the best. Expected at least functional washrooms, functional lights, and decent wifi from the Marriott brand name. The front desk was also not very pleasant

Loved this place. Was around 30 to 40 mins drive from Calgary international airport. The inn and hotel staff are very courteous and are ready to help you everytime. The room has a big double bed, a sofa cum bed, a kitchen, with refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee machine, microwave, induction for cooking, dishes, glass bowls, steel utensils, 3lectric ketel, steal iron with iron board. Fully equipped place, to make you feel cozy.
Loved this place. The breakfast spead mostly had scrambled eggs, bacon, fries, fruit drinks, cereals waffle maker, eggs, fresh fruits.toaster, buns milk etc.
The place also has a gym and pool (warmed). Anybody can stay here for a very long duration.
It has ample parking in the front and in the basement as well.
They also have a restaurant and bar open in the adjacent building. Courtyard. The food is very nice. Would love to come back here.

As a gold elite marriott member i have requests for feather free rooms due to asthma. They did not read those request, feather pillows and my daughters asthma started acting up and her ears plugged up plus there was smoke in calgary so very uncomfortable stay. When i brought this up and asked if there was a fee to book a different hotel and leave early, they just cancelled my reservation and said you can leave now. I was like i dont have anything else booked, i just asked if there was a fee. We where basically kicked out and told to call marriott bonvoy. Manager offered me $100 to eat at their restaurant as we where packing the car. I declined. My hilton honors card came in thru clutch this time, wow what a difference in service.

My family weekend stay there was excellent in checking in and the friendly staff. Our room was everything to my families expectation. Definitely coming back for another visit. Thank you Mariott staff for a wonderful weekend

Stayed on the 6th floor in two bedroom suite with kitchen, rooms were clean and comfy, great staff. No surprises, everything was exactly as described or better. Highly recommend!

Nice hotel. Well maintained and manicured. We went to celebrate our anniversary and the young lady at the desk upgraded our room and it was fabulous. She wished us a great night. Loved it.would not hesitate to stay there again.

For my two nights in Calgary, I got to have an enormous 1-bedroom suite, kept in excellent condition, with well appointed furnishings and kitchen. I didn't get to use the amenities but in my limited interactions with staff I would say service was very good. So why did I take off a star? Through no fault of Marriott's, this hotel is as far away from the city as you can get without being outside the city limits. I did get free parking in the underground garage, which is something you can't get downtown, but if there is any traffic it will be over an hour to drive anywhere. Calgary is a huge city in terms of area, and I chose this one as I figured it would be closer to my relatives who also live in the south. But they are in the SW which turned out to be a long trek every time I had to meet them. At least it is close to the Deerfoot and 201. Anyway, if you have something in this area you needed to do, this is a great choice. Otherwise, be warned.

Great services. Liked the EV charging. Half of chargers weren't working but they got it fixed right away the next morning. My boys loved the pool.

If you’re looking for somewhere quite to stay this for sure isn’t it. Friday and Saturday night there is blaring music downstairs until 2 am. Not recommended. I’ll add the music was heard over my ear plugs. Zero appreciation for others’ comfort in their stay.

I was disappointed to find that the hot tub was only lukewarm and the jets emitted low pressure. Upgrading the hot tub in the future would be appreciated and would contribute to a better overall experience for guests.

Furthermore, the shower posed safety hazards for guests as the water splashed onto the floor, creating a slipping hazard. Additionally, the hot/cold knob in the shower would unexpectedly slide from freezing cold to scalding hot, posing a serious hazard to guests.

The staff were diligent, friendly, and accommodating which added value to this stay.

Lastly, the bed was firmer than my personal preference.

Update: The breakfast quality has increased since the original posting. Will upgrade review to 4/5 stars.

Its a decent hotel, the staff are nice, rooms are clean, very very small TV and the placement of it in relation to the couch makes it hard to just relax and watch tv. The hotel has a nice Bar with live music next door, but in my view this hotel is far too expensive for what you get.

Be advised this hotel is Pet Friendly and if you get lucky like me you will have a dog barking non stop for significant length of time. The front desk will acknowledge the complaint but not much they can do to stop a barking dog.

This location is more comfortable then the downtown location but still disappointing considering its a Marriott branded hotel.

My stay at this place was extremely pleasant.
The hotel staff was very welcoming and helpful and kudos to the breakfast team, especially Sabi for preparing special indian tea everyday.

We were here for a couple days over Christmas. The staff was very accommodating. The rooms were very clean and equipped for basic meal utensils and a dishwasher, fridge etc. There is a small business centre with a printer by the lobby and breakfast area.
We will be back when we return to Calgary.

I would give this hotel 10 stars! We stayed 3 times at this hotel and it was always very good. Great atmosphere, very comfortable and clean, good price for the accommodations and great kind and professional staff. We always will remember with gratitude the service of hotel staff towards people. We were leaving very early in the morning (2 am) and the front desk prepared for us a to go package of breakfast for all our family. It was such an unexpected service and very much appreciated. I will definitely recommend this hotel!

Amazing stay, but our only complaint was the hide-a-bed. Might as well sleep on a bed of nails! It's very sharp and uncomfortable and was deeply disappointing because it changed our sleeping accommodations.
