Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre

Sitting in the ER waiting room for over an hour with a very sick cancer patient, that cant stay awake, barely can breathe and hardly talking and they don't even do triage or anything.

Went in not being able to breathe, blood work indicated my white blood count is elevated and they refused to help me without sticking a china stick up my nose. Doctor said that I was breathing fine without wheezing, when my husband called her out on that she rolled her eyes and was useless at that point, she proceeded to get me “Tylenol” which she said she was getting me, just to bring down my fever and headache, at which she gave me Advil instead (which isn’t good for chronic asthma). They let me walk out in medical distress, at which my husband took me to sylvan lake ambulatory care and I was given antibiotics and steroids within 5 mins of being there without taking another test to show that I’m unwell. I highly suggest if you are having breathing issues and/or sick do NOT go there it was a joke. If I could give a no star I would and for being a hospital and having latex balloons everywhere that is not safe or sanitary.

I had woken up and could not open my eyelids from them being so stuck together, came in with bacterial conjunctivitis, (very puss filled pink eye) but was told it was a symptom of a viral cold.no prescription for antibiotics or eyedrops/ointment, they said two weeks and i should be fine.left it for a couple hours and could not stand the swelling, itching and pain as it got worse.my vision was not great either.so i went to the pharmacy and was prescribed antibiotic drops and since i began those drops, most my symptoms have gone other than slight itching/irritation.don't think i would have been able to open my eyes again the next day without those drops.nice staff and very kind dr, just weren't very helpful in my case unfortunately.

Recently visited this hospital with a vertigo issue, I was seen by a doctor in minutes, my care was professional, kind and thorough. Although the hospital itself is starting to show its age…I can’t say enough how impressed I was with the staff.

I was taken by ambulance to Red Deer 2 days ago and was treated with zero dignity or respect, so I ended up leaving, to try to get better at home, but it wasn't working, so my husband took me to Rimbey. I was treated with respect, kindness and given the chance to explain the reasoning behind why I had left Red Deer without treatment. My health is poor and I struggle with many issues and chronic pain. Not only was I treated kindly and respectfully, but they took the time to sit and explain the options and helped me thru every painful moment. Kudos to the staff and kudos for the small town hospital feel, I haven't experienced in a long time. Nice to see medical staff actually compassionate towards their patients
