I rented a dunk tank for my daughter's year end gymnastics party this weekend, it was a massive hit with everyone. I want to give kudos to Danielle who answered all of the questions I had while we worked to secure someone to pick up and drop off the tank for us and to Mary who went above and beyond after hours for us. I much appreciated all of their help!

AVOID LIKE A PLAGUE! Terrible customer service! The customer service experience was extremely disappointing. When we contacted them about a cancellation, the representative's response was astonishingly rude and unhelpful, stating that their policy prevents refunds and implying we can't do anything about it.

Even if the cancellation was well in advance, they insisted on keeping our money and offering a store credit, as though renting tents is a routine occurrence. This happened despite the event still being days away and regardless of recent payment.

In short, once you've paid, they seem determined to retain your funds at all costs.

Update:

They mentioned that they have processed a refund and from what we received, they are charging 55% of the payment as repacking fee for a single small tent (10x10) that never left their warehouse and days away from pickup date, very inconsiderate.

One pattern I see in their responses is always mentioning “policy” on every turn without ever sticking it to. My final question, which policy allows them charge 55% as repacking fee, not even appliance stores does that. While the amount is inconsequential to me, I’ll make sure I exhaust all available avenues to recover my money as this is just a day time robbery

Like I mentioned earlier, I would honestly never come close this company again

I chatted online with this company a few years ago to rent a BBQ and they responded online and then just stopped responding. I called them to complain about it and the owner called my boss instead of trying to rectify the situation and take care of what I was looking for. I did not want to rent from this place because he used his connections instead of trying to make things right with the customer who actually was just trying to rent a BBQ. Rude CSR and an owner that doesn’t care about clients. I would give zero stars if I could.

I had such a fantastic experience from start to finish renting from River City Events. The whole process from calling, picking up and dropping off was easy and I left feeling blown away by the experience. Maranda, Ron and Jordan helped with the quote, picking up and dropping off. Maranda was amazing at explaining the process, Ron and Jordan were super helpful with loading and unloading the items. I didn't have to get out of my vehicle, I got water and chocolates for the road and it was by far the cheapest quote for my particular case. What more can I ask for? I will definitely be renting from River City Events in the future!

We have been using this company for years to help out with our rentals. Their consistency and professionalism is unparalleled.

We were in a bind last week when a floor plan had to get changed within an hour. Problem was it was 7am and we didn’t have the right linens to do so.

I called Joe and he had them in an Uber for us within 10min and we were good to go for when the guests arrived. Event saved.

Cannot recommend these guys enough. They are great everyday and go above and beyond when you’re in a bind.

We are so grateful for Joe and his team at River City Events. They are always friendly, have large quantities of items and always seem to go above and beyond to make your event a success! This past week Joe and the team, not only bailed me out once, but twice! I called the emergency line, only to hear an all so familiar voice, Joe, which was such a surprise. I needed 30 chafing dishes the next morning. Not only could they accommodate but they allowed me to pick up before opening. The same day I also rented 10 cambros which they pulled together in hours for me! Great team! Great service! All around a wonderful partner to work with.

River City Events provided the equipment for seven school events in May-June 2022. Each event required staging, chairs, tables and linens, and then special items depending on the exact program. Mary and her colleagues were very helpful in coming up with solutions for the special moments at the events (revealing a large quilt and artwork for example). She was very responsive to my questions and order changes. In terms of delivery and set up, the crews were always on time and communicated their arrivals so I could meet them on site. Access at each site was different but they were adaptable. The set up was efficient and accurate. They also worked around recess times and gym concert rehearsals! Thank you Kurtis and colleagues! We rented tables, chairs, linens, plates and cutlery for our wedding and it went perfectly! Everything came organized and it was quite easy to reorganize it all for return! We got so many compliments on the chairs we rented and everything really helped our vision become a reality!

and helpful with our many changes due to Covid restrictions. The pickup and drop off was very easy to do.

We had to change our event date due to covid and river city was totally understanding and easy to work with. Made adjustments several times to our date as well as our rentals themselves. Customer service was always good.
The real mvp was the delivery driver and his team.
Super friendly! And went above and beyond expectations with how helpful they were!

Excellent start to finish. Arrived and within seconds was greeted and received service. I even had help from the owner loading it into the truck. He even offered me a water bottle (which I took because it was about 30 degrees outside haha)

I rented 20 chairs for a small event through River City Events and the entire process was very quick and easy! Within minutes of requesting a quote I received an email with pricing and was able to confirm all of the details within half an hour! Their pickup and delivery service was also very efficient and all of the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful.

We ordered chairs from them for our wedding - first off, the lady on the phone was absolutely lovely. Ordering was very easy. The contract is absolutely reasonable and standard.

Then the delivery guys - they were professional, fast, and hard working. They sure worked up a sweat! We asked them how to best stack them for pickup and they gave clear, simple to follow instructions.

The dropoff and pickup was easy. They phoned before arriving.

Highly recommend!

And if you're looking to save some money, they have some sales in the wintertime on rental bookings, I got mine in February.

We worked with River City for a large event we held downtown last weekend, and were so impressed in every way. Their customer service was incredible, their products were perfect, and their value was better than any other company we viewed in the city. They made a challenging event go seamlessly. We will definitely be working with them again in the future!

Very easy to deal with & prompt; pricing is inline with other companies in Edmonton but for us, River City had the larger tent. Set up a couple days ahead of time (awesome) and took down a couple days after event. The guys were friendly. Gave tips on how to hang our own lighting; which was very helpful. Highly recommend. Its so rare to see the kind of work ethic and dedication from staff.all the way from the warehouse team to Joe- the head honcho. Every single person takes care of the customers like its their own business and Joe is the first to be seen with a broom and the last to be seen getting off a fork lift. This is a real team! The rentals are always in great shape, the orders accurate and the delivery, easy peasy. They always offer solutions for your challenges- so bring them into the conversation and turn it up a notch!

I rented a large specialty table for thanksgiving dinner and was impressed with how excellent it looked when it arrived. I was a little less pleased with the chairs I had selected online, but with one quick call to River City Events they offered to bring me new ones that they suggested would look better with the table I chose. They were 100% right, the table looked excellent with the chairs they suggested, and they re-delivered then to me within an hour with no extra charge for the wrong selection error on my part. Couldn't be happier with the service I received, and the items looked beautiful. Would definitely rent from this company again. 5*****

We chose River City Events for our wedding rentals.they were nothing short of amazing through the whole process! They were able to make recommendations on what I needed and how much, and their policys are awesome. I was able to change my invoice right up until my wedding date. They are so quick with responses as well. We had a problem with the tent heater during the wedding and we were able to get them on the phone at 10pm to help troubleshoot. They offered a full refund for the malfunction as well. 10/10 recommend!

We used River City Events for the tent, table, chair, bar, podium and pipe & drape rentals for our wedding. We were absolutely blown away by the level of continuously exceptional customer service we received as we went through the planning stages over the past several months.

In particular the numerous last minute changes we had right at the end due to trying to plan the wedding from another city with the weather forecast changing every other day.they just continued to be helpful, patient and polite.

Everything turned out perfectly and we absolutely could not have done it without them. They turned my husbands late grandparents airplane hangar, very near and dear to our hearts, into our perfect wedding venue. Cynthia was fantastic to work with, and made our wedding look amazing! We rented decor for our wedding this past June. She definitely exceeded my expectations by working with me to achieve exactly what I pictured in mind, come to life for my wedding day. All of the staff at their location are very friendly, polite, and helpful. I'm 100% sure I went there to set up tables and decide on decor between 6-8 times before finalizing everything for the day of, and knowing that they were there to help me find things and suggest beautiful/creative ideas made the experience much better! Cynthia and her team came out to our reception hall for set-up and take down for our event, and no matter what I needed done, I knew for a fact I could rely on her to ensure it was done beautifully. She was even able to set up other things you might bring separately, to ensure everything is placed in time! She responded promptly to my questions, and even got an arch ordered for me because the one they had in stock didn't match my vision! 100% will use their services again if ever necessary, and 11/10 recommend Cynthia to anyone planning their wedding!
