As a first time buyer I was a bit nervous going in, but ended up having a really great experience at River City Hyundai. JP in sales and Alec in finance did everything possible to get me the deal I wanted and got it done for me! They were the absolute best. I ordered a Tucson Ultimate a year and a half ago. I received one on Monday, October 23, although supposedly not the one I ordered which the dealership said was still not available. But they said they had a 2024 which I could have for $52,900 after the $5k federal electric vehicle incentive grant was applied. The original agreement price was $52000 for a 2023 or 2024 model without the $5k federal grant for a net of $47k. (plus tax, delivery, extras etc). I did not want to wait any longer so I agreed to take the one they were offering at the new price. This now being 18 months later, I had expected the price might be a bit higher than originally agreed, but the increase from $47k net to $52900 net was certainly more than I expected.
Price aside, I was delighted with my first look at the vehicle which I had only previously seen in photos the dealership sent me. (I live in Yukon and there are no Hyundai dealerships there). But my delight with seeing it was vastly surpassed by my delight in driving it and beginning to experience its many features. (I commented to my spouse that I might have to take a course to learn how to operate everything).
The Tucson Ultimate is an impressive vehicle, stylish, if not indeed beautiful, inside and out, roomy and very comfortable. The suspension is solid as one would expect for an SUV, but ride remains very good although I have only driven it about 400 km now and all of it on pavement/the highway. It will be interesting to see how it feels off road. Handling is slightly disconcerting when the automatic tracking adjustment tugs a bit on the wheel whenever the system detects that the vehicle is not dead centre in the lane, but otherwise is also very good and I am already used to the 'tug. ' Those are my initial impressions all of which, to this point, lead me to feel the vehicle fully meets my hopes and expectations, if not exceeds them.
Three days before we flew to Edmonton to get the vehicle, the dealership offered me a 'protection package' which included ceramic paint sealant, undercoating, rust proofing and interior leather and fabric protections for a well discounted price and a 10 year protection guarantee. I had never heard of ceramic sealant so I did a bit of research which convinced me it was worth every penny and that the overall package was a good deal so I added it. When we were preparing to sign the contract, several other add ons were offered most of which we also thought were very good to have so we took them, but they added considerably to the final price which by this time was well beyond what I had initially expected to pay. Time will tell whether the extra costs were worth it, but I believe they are and will prove so.
Regarding the personal service at the dealership, much of my communications were via text and Email with Essra. She was prompt in responding to my questions and requests (like photos of the vehicle). She picked us up at our hotel, showed us around the dealership (which is very modern/lovely and clean, has a huge showroom with lots of vehicles on display, a comfortable customer waiting room/lounge and attractive offices), showed us our vehicle which was waiting for the protection package to be finished, made us as comfortable as possible, introduced us to the financial manager, and after the contract was completed, introduced us to our vehicle showing us all the features and how to use them. We were very pleased with her service. The financial manager, Jason, was patient and thorough in explaining the add ons and answering everything we asked except why they price had increased so much from the originally agreed price of 18 months ago. However, on that price point, perhaps we were somewhat compensated oon the extra cost of the base price by discounts he gave us on the add ons. Overall, we were satisfied.
We liked the dealership, the people and the product. I will not give them a full 5 stars but certainly 4.5 and I would deal with them again. I like to think that anyone who goes there due to this review will be likewise well served and satisfied.

Hyundai Service is awful! My engine blew up, and they wanted 350$ to take my engine apart and 130$ for diagnosis. Then send to see if I was covered under warranty when they knew I'd be declined due to the amount of KM on my vehicle. That or I had to provide EVERY receipt of all maintenance completed in the last 7yrs and proof of purchase. Needless to say, I told them to pound sand and I went to another dealership for a new vehicle.was quoted over 10,000$ for a new engine if I wasn't covered!

I leave my car in hyundai river city, its 3 weeks now with no rental car. They keep saying that I dont have in my warranty so I didn’t get a rental. I keep waiting for updates. You need to call them for you to know what is going on my car. I called them again they told me couple more days until now I didn’t even receive any call or any updates until now. This is all what I experienced to this dealership.

I purchased a 2021 Santa Fe at this dealership in August 2021. I can confidently say that I would recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a vehicle. The dealership has great hours, making it easy to find time to go in. The staff is very helpful and welcoming. They didn't make us feel rushed in making our decision and truly made us feel like they wanted the best for us. Our salesperson, Gracyn, was very informative during our test drives and helpful when setting up our vehicle before driving it off the lot. I absolutely love my Santa Fe - it runs smoothly, is very comfortable and feels luxurious. The heads up display has surprisingly been my favourite feature.

Keep being disappointed with the customer service at this place. Very sad as it used to be one of the best dealerships that I've been to.

Maintenance department is just horrible, customer service is a big zero.
I've purchased 3 vehicles here in the past and have serviced them all here as well, but will be looking for a new place to service my vehicle now.
They will only be pleasant and helpful while selling you a vehicle. My experience with River City was terrible evertime I came in for anything ever since the day I've purchased my vehicle in February 2021.

I needed oill change for my Santa Fe. I emailed River City Hyundai, also called. I asked what would it cost for 'my' vehicle. $119.99 for synthetic oil change plus taxes, they told me. But I was charged $135 plus taxes. I thought their calculations might be wrong. So I called the dealing service advisor, but my call was forwarded to the manager instead. He said I was charged correctly. I said it was $15 more than what I was told by him and another advisor. He could not explain first why it was $15 more than what I was told before starting the service as well. Instead of explaining clearly, he continued arguing aggressively, and sometimes rudely, saying I was wrong and he was right. He even said why I was arguing over a few dollars. I told him I just need clarification.

After many minutes of arguing and going in circles, he told my vehicle needed 1 liter more oil, so the cost was $15 more. He could have told me this thing in the beginning and avoid wasting his and my time. He said he would credit my file $15, but he never did (I asked another service advisor).

Before this, my experience with River City Hyundai (Sales people) was good. But this time, their (Service people) attitude regarding customer treatment was seriously wanting.

We dealt with Mo on the purchase of our 2022 Palisade and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. No pressure or slimy tactics just straight forward honest negotiations. Even in this market with a vehicle in very high demand we were able to get a fair deal. I would not hesitate to recommend Mo to anyone who was looking for a vehicle. He was also very gracious with our 3 rambunctious kids while we were getting the paperwork done. They loved all the dealer amenities and didn’t want to leave, not even to go to McDonald’s! Ryan is amazing to work with, out of all the dealerships we stopped at and salesmen we talked to Ryan was by far the most honest and trustworthy. I will say the same for Neil. They did everything in there power to make sure I was 100% happy and went above and beyond my asks. I went form a 2017 Santa Fe to a 2022 Kona, the deal I got for a brand new car was 10x better then what I paid back in 2017 at another dealership for a used Santa Fe. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with River City Hyundai. We were allowed to browsed around unmolested. Every question was answered by the confident salesman. Thomas was a great guy who made everything comfortable for all of us and made sure that we were assisted in all ways. We were offered lower price for more economical options and not more expensive options. The finance manager was respectful of our decisions with regards to the extras, he explained everything fully to us plus he was friendly and funny. I would give these guys -5 if there was an option.very unprofessional, no work ethic. I have been waiting for an update on my car ever since i signed the paper work.since then i have talked to 4-5 different people Ryan, Neil, Richard, Adam.i bought the car from ontario and asked to ship the car here. One manager said the car will be shipped within a couple of weeks, then another manager said its gonna take 4-6 weeks and you will get a tracking number when we ship. When i texted the sales person he didn't respond, so i called but nobody seems to know what is going on.then they said the car gets shipped on sunday.on sunday they said it will ship on monday but we don't have anything for you that says car is shipped not even a tracking number.so you have to wait whenever the shipper calls you.making my biweekly payments, still dont have my car.so i have i get my car soon and this review helps someone so they don't get stuck with these people

My husband just bought a Ford through this dealership. We dealt with Jordan in finance and Mateo was the sales representative, we could not be happier with the level of professionalism and service these gentlemen provided. To say they both went above and beyond would be a complete understatement their ability to not only find the perfect truck for him but also being open to add some great incentives without making the ordeal frustrating or unnecessarily drawn out. We’ve had some terrible experiences recently with sales representatives in the automotive industry lately and having Jordan and Mateo working with us on this purchase gave us a whole new appreciation for purchasing a vehicle. They both earned a 10 out of 10 score from us and that extends to the fantastic dealership they represent.

Sent a request online and received a call from Ryan almost a month ago. I asked him if he had a 7 seater within my budget but at that time he didn't. He continued to follow up with me and email me until he found the perfect vehicle for my family. Although it was a little over my budget once we sat down with Adam the manager, he made sure that we left the dealership satisfied. I put a deposit and left. The next day the car was detailed as if it was new, filled with gas and all of my paperwork ready to sign. This is a properly managed dealership.

Very shady, disorganized and unprofessional!
I have never used River City Hyundai before. I called and spoke to someone about bringing my vehicle in for service. I explained I normally go to different dealership but because they were closer I thought I would give them a try. I provided my info and what service level I was needing to the man who answered my call. I said I would be dropping my car off the night before. I was advised to put my keys in the envelopes provided and provide my details and leave it in the drop box. My appointment was scheduled for 8: 15 a.m.

I arrived the night before and there were no envelopes available to put my key in. I attached my key to a recall notice I received from Hyundai and wrote on it my contact info and why my car was there.

A service advisor named Matt called me the next morning at approximately 10: 15 am to tell me the parts for the recall are on back order and he would leave my keys so I can come pick up my car. I asked about the service that was required and if it was done. Matt was dumbfounded and said ooooh I didn’t see there was anything else to do! I told him I made the appointment a few days earlier, provided my details and that could not understand how he could not know why my car was there? After I hung up I had a bad feeling so I called back and told Matt to never mind with the service and I would come get my car.

After I got home from picking up my car I noticed my passenger seat had been lifted up. I could see the cushion exposed and the leather seat cover literally pulled right up. I lifted up the seat to see what was going on. I still don’t understand why they did this. I also noticed my driver and passenger floor mats were removed and placed back but not attached to the hooks to keep them in place. My husband called back and spoke to Matt, and asked if they had any reason to be lifting up the passenger seat? Matt, again was dumbfounded and said well we only looked under the hood for the ABS recall and that was it.

This place is shady, disorganized and unprofessional. Stay away! I do not trust them and will never go back!

Kurt the GM asked me to contact him to discuss my concerns. I have called him back out of respect to discuss my concerns. I have left a message and emailed him and have not heard back. Nice lip service! Again, this just confirms the shady and unprofessional service by River City Hyundai! Customer service clearly not a priority.

River City Hyundai was amazing to deal with! I don’t write reviews - they deserve it. I checked with other Hyundai (and Chev) dealerships and despite their claims of providing open and honest communication, via email and online - not a chance could I get honest information and pricing. Mo was great to work with on our Palisade, providing as much information as we wanted and needed to make an educated decision. When he advised of additional options which we were not interested in, there was no pressure at all to compromise. Other Hyundai dealerships simply told us the availability on their stock, take it or leave it (at their price), once we were serious on the purchase, we communicated directly with River City ordered it in exactly what we wanted (“factory”). In fact we expected a 2021 model and we were ordered the 2022 for the same price. I was not interested at all on trading in our other Hyundai, having experience with trade in’s in the past, but they came very close to what I was considering selling it for and we could keep driving ours until our new one arrived. Adam and Neil were also very helped and informative with working the numbers and of our options, but sorry guys, Mo was the star. He even came in on a Sunday when he was supposed to be off, to show us the vehicle and walk around to make sure we were 100% satisfied, before the final sale. There was never any pressure throughout our entire communication, (even told us that despite ordering the vehicle in, we could back out on the day of purchase) - they were genuinely there to help us and did an amazing job. There is a reason they have 4.7 star rating and the others don’t deserve anywhere close to their lower ratings. Thanks very much to you and your entire team at River City Hyundai!

I purchased a 2021 Santa Fe Calligraphy last week and experienced incredible customer service from the River City Hyundai team.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted in a way that was respectful and relaxed. We all know that feeling of walking into a car dealership and being immediately bombarded by salespeople and questions; River City Hyundai couldn't have been farther from this situation, the staff were all welcoming and respected our space as we explored some of the vehicles in the showroom.

When it came time for a test drive, we were instantly offered a Santa Fe. Honestly, we were driving that vehicle within 10 min.

Bas, who assisted us in this process, was so fantastic. When it came time to purchase later that week, we were able to experience more of the great customer service at River City. The process was easy and stress-free, everyone went out of their way to ensure this.

If you are considering purchasing a Hyundai (which you should, because the value over cost is insane) then you should MOST DEFINITELY check out River City Hyundai!

River City Hyundai made my purchase so easy. Mark was the salesperson who sold me on this unit. Neil in the office was so prompt and efficient. These people made the whole process so smooth and so quick. The introduction to the dealership was informative as was the chatting with various staff and managers. GREAT JOB!

I turned to River City Hyundai for help. I have never had issues with River City. Every time they fixed my auto service problem, with diligence and haste. Sort of like Scotty in Star Trek, they might say 3 hours, and I'd get a call an hour and a half later, "It's done. " Wow. (And done right. They know what they are doing. If you are in a rush, or have a unique circumstance they will try to help you.)

During the purchase of my vehicle I felt they were fair to me. They didn't waste my time. They didn't try and sell me on something I didn't want. They got to the point, listened, and acted accordingly. They recognized the difficult time I had been through at other dealerships, and wanted to make it right. I can't say enough good things about Mark, Adam, Neil and all the staff. And I love that Chai Latte. That is some good stuff. The service team is also very good at what they do. I look forward to having a long relationship with this dealership. They work very hard to make my life easy, and it only make sense that I reward them with my patronage.

Came in a few days ago to get a used car but was told about a better deal with a brand new one instead. Hyundai will always be our first choice. Staff are friendly and efficient with their work. Thank you Calvin and Neil for helping me get my first car!

Whole team is full of incredible people I felt at ease during entire process. Tyreek spent a lot of time with me explaining everything to me and ensured I had all my questions answered before I left, tyreek had me extremely comfortable to the point where I felt like he was one of my friends despite him maintaining a certain level of professionalism. He mentioned that he was new to the job which is crazy considering how knowledgeable he is on everything. Tyreek if you see this thanks again for everything and best wishes!

Awesome experience, I purchased a brand new 2021 Elantra through Thomas. He used to work as a mechanic at the same dealership so he could answer every question we had not only about the sales side of things, but also from a mechanics perspective! He was great to deal with and even after the sale he makes sure that my experience with the vehicle is only positive. The incentives they offer here for maintenance are amazing too, when you bring your car in for an oil change they will run an OBD test, rotate your tires, vacuum the inside of your car, clear the windows and check all of your filters for only the price of the oil! That’s crazy. Would recommend this location to any of my friends or family!

Clean and spacious dealership. Salesman Mo was responsive to my text messages and calls given COVID 19 concerns and then when we met in person was helpful and friendly through the process. Very happy with our experience thus far and enjoying our new vehicle.

I went in for service, spent quite a bit of money. 5 days later my car went back in on something they did not catch on the diagnostic test. However Matt, the GM dealt & worked with me quite well and was very professional. We got the issue sorted but the issue lied with one of the service advisors, Dan. He was very very rude and unprofessional. Whilst speaking to him I was shocked at what he was saying. That would be my only complaint. Everything was dealt with maturely through Matt, and I am happy with the service at the end of the day

They are truly amazing! I would suggest to anyone to go on in and see them! It was the best experience we have ever recieved!
