The staff is amazing and super helpful. Parking lots for campers are very tight and sometimes feel a little awkward bring right beside your neighbors without zero tree division. Some tent areas are great if you are lucky to have one, but some are very uneven and have no shade to protect from the sun. Bathrooms could use a more-often clean too.
The location however, is super good and very convenient! Restaurants close by, liquor store close by, playgrounds, the biggest dinosaur and the water park are also just around the corner.
This campground can get very busy but still a good experience.

This was our second time staying at this campground, and we will definitely be returning. Giving it a 4/5.

Pro's:
-Very close to the splash park and big dinosaur
-Fun arcade
-Close to a grocery store
-Fair price per night
-10 minute walk to downtown & Valley Brewing (which we would highly recommend)
- 2 parks in and right beside the campground

Con's:
-Lower attention to detail in some areas. For example: Garbage bins in common areas don't get changed out often enough (ie. Fruit flies coming from them)
-If you have a site near the playground, get ready for a constant high pitch squeal from the swings (we asked them to try and solve the problem but it never got fixed)

We really enjoy our time here but need to see some improvements in the smaller details before we would give it a higher rating. Would recommend staying here for sure.

NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE FUN GOT KICKED OUT DIRTY TOWELS IN THE BATHROOM AND DIRTY COUCHES AND WET DISHES AND THE SILVERWARE TASTED LIKE SOAP!
04 September 2023 18:23
Nice campsite with everything you need. Unfortunately, you have to pay extra for the showers here and the pitches are very close together.
01 September 2023 21:37
Very well treed campground. Our site was clean and well maintained. It fit our RV perfectly with space for the tow vehicle. There's a couple of parks and an arcade to keep the kids busy, along with a bike path through town and river near by to cool off.
28 August 2023 0:44
Just another cash grab “campground. ”Our site was so small we couldn’t even put the awning out. We had to find a picnic table in another site. It was also really loud through the night and into early morning. Needs to have a bit better monitoring I think. We were tired!
16 August 2023 12:25
Great campsite just in town. Central to all things Drumheller. Sites themselves are small and only a dozen or so that offer any privacy. Read that map carefully, but know that it’s a lovely place to stay if you’re using it as a jumping off point to explore the abundance of local activities. Family friendly.
14 August 2023 14:20
It was great to have two tent sites with power and water! The bathrooms are so clean and the staff is very friendly and always out and about cleaning and collecting waste. The playground is centrally located are there are a lot of extra activities like the arcade. There are also outdoor kitchens and a laundromat on site. Firewood and ice are affordable. Walking distance to the world's tallest dinosaur! Quiet time was not enforced.
15 May 2023 10:28
Awesome campground with the only issue of sticky tree sap needles falling off on your camper awning and vehicle!
01 May 2023 8:56
Great convenient spot right downtown drunheller.clean huge lots.bathrooms are clean and very well set up.has laundry.arcade.playground.store.very friendly and helpful staff

I recently stayed at this campground as I was riding my bicycle from Vancouver to Saskatoon. The main bathroom facility is one of the best that I have seen. Lots of space and good water pressure in the shower. I was a little disappointed that the shower required a loonie for 5 minutes. Based on the camp fee cost, which was the highest I have encountered so far, I was surprised that the showers were not free. The owners need to do some tree pruning especially where the tents are located. It was difficult to find a place in the assigned spot that if one of the dead branches fell from the trees above that it would not hit my tent. In windy situations the situation could be deadly.

I had a cabin booked for a family trip.due to circumstances in Jasper with the forest fire and power outage, we had to cancel our reservation last minute.yes, it was within the 7 days but due to the circumstances, you think they would have some compassion and do a full refund or at least a partial refund.instead when I asked I got laughed at and told the system cant do a refund this was all from the " assistant manager " I called back to speak to someone else and she basically said one day it will be raining for me to cancel or bad weather another time. I explained that I cant make up a forest fire and she then repeated again basically mocking me.horrible customer service n empathy at all
03 October 2022 8:47
Nice Campground close to Downtown Drumheller. Clean toilets and showers. You need 1 Loonie for 5 minutes.
14 September 2022 15:14
This place is amazing. Would highly recommend. If you dont have a camper there are cabins to rent, some with a/c. Beautiful and well kept campground, showers, laundry, arcade, playground, and the staff were fantastic.
31 August 2022 20:42
Nice place.very clean bathrooms, park for children.a very quiet place with many mature trees that give a lot of shade.and close to many shops so if you forgot something there is no problem you can go to the store and buy it. I have been camping in the same place for many years at least 3 times a year and always in the same place because it is very nice, it is true that the wi-fi is bad but it is not a problem because if we leave the city it is to be connected with nature
26 August 2022 10:16
Definitely has pros and cons. I’ll base this off our most recent visit. To clarify this is based o the tent space only
Pros
-
Cons
- tent sites are basically right on each other. Would be nice to have some spacing.
-first world problem but Wi-Fi non existent especially in tent area
- arcade on site is non existent

Our stay at the cabin was very nice. They have AC, bathroom with shower, and the beds are very comfy. Ours had a big fire pit area that was fenced off for privacy. Highly recommended, it's a great campsite.

NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE FUN GOT KICKED OUT DIRTY TOWELS IN THE BATHROOM AND DIRTY COUCHES AND WET DISHES AND THE SILVERWARE TASTED LIKE SOAP here's two pictures of the fifthly towel

Have been camping there twice. Wonderful camping site with safety fence (no big animals), private playground, better facilities and walking distance to water park. Highly recommend

Do you want to take your baby/toddler camping but a little nervous? River Grove is the perfect place to try out glamping!

Cabin #10 is highly recommended as it sleeps 6, and is spacious and comfy! Perfect for a friends/family trip - my toddler and senior parents both slept very well:)
The campground itself is very well maintained and lots of walking paths for a curious toddler to explore - the staff were extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. The public bathrooms are very clean, there is a laundromat, playground, and even an arcade!

This will be our annual cabin spot from now on. Thanks, River Grove!
30 October 2021 15:36
Right in the heart of Drumheller. You can walk to everything in town. Make sure you stop in at Valley Brewery. Kids are allowed, so parents can enjoy a cold one.
25 October 2021 1:26
Nice experience overall. It was quiet and clean in the campground and our cabin. A must see is the fossil store at the end of the bridge one block from the camp entrance. If I'm being picky our cabin #5 didn't have a locking bathroom door/awkward, no plug for the sink and the coffee maker didn't work properly-big mess. Will visit again.
10 October 2021 21:52
Great little campground. The included amenities are terrific (showers, toilets, drinking water) as well as full hookups. We use a tent, so we didn't use the hookups. There's not a lot of seperation between campsites and it gets a little crowded when it's busy. But the location is great and at night, it does feel like you're in the bush. I was definitely skeptical when we arrived, but my opinion definitely changed after the first hour or so.

Go. Camp. Get outside. You'll feel better. This is a great place to do it.
01 October 2021 12:51
Very nice place for family camping! The entire site is well-fenced to keep wild animals off and keep kids in. I will surely come back!
20 September 2021 11:33
Great place to stop for the night in the RV. Easy to explore the area. Kids and big kids fun arcade. Nice laundry facilities.
12 September 2021 13:11
Nice campground with big trees, convenient location to Tyrrell museum and the recreation area (splash park and pools). Only reason I can't give it give stars is the proximity to the sites beside you, not a huge issue but not a ton of privacy. Great stay otherwise!
12 September 2021 2:24
Was just looking for somewhere to crash for one night. Booked using online app, no issues. Got a rude phone call later saying there is a 3 night minimum. App should not allow single night booking then. Reason 20 why I only camp at provincial/National parks.
10 September 2021 1:00
Our go to campground every-time we visit! It’s a great spot only down side this year is I wish people would slow down when driving through 10km is the max speed and we have see people go through going at almost 30! This is a very kid friendly campground to be doing more then 10km!
09 September 2021 10:47
This campground have given me amazing service and enjoyable momets. The staff is very friendly, everything was very convenient, washrooms were clean amd cabins were very nice too. One can really connect with nature here because it's surrounded by many tress which is very eye catching. My all time favorite location for camping. Will visit them time year for sure.
09 September 2021 9:12
Really cramped spots. No privacy between sites. Priced about the same as provincial sites. Not sure if we would return.
07 September 2021 17:52
Campsite 127 (tenting) was great with trees on both sides and enough space for us. The fire pit on this site doesn’t come with a grill. I noticed some campsite have fire pits with grills. A great campground for kids with a playground and arcade site. I noticed some tent sites were small so it’s hit and miss but had a great experience here.
02 September 2021 23:30
Needs more work and maintenance. Nice location, but showers & toilets definitely require updating. Wifi was very good.
Garbage bins were full and should be emptied more often, awful smell.
Sites were large but the neighbor's sewage outlet was too close to our picnic table.
20 August 2021 13:51
03 August 2021 5:25
We have stayed here in a tent, an RV and the most recent, in the cabins. Usually we have a great time, bathrooms are clean, walkability to other attractions, etc but the cabins are very dusty (not just because they are old, looks like they literally haven’t dusted or cleaned the tops of anything in quite awhile) and there are more bugs inside than outside. I get that it’s camping, but this is terrible when you have to take an allergy pill because of the inside of the cabin.

**edit**staff did acknowledge and apologized for the issue immediately. We will come back to tent or RV and recommend for camping in Drumheller.
25 July 2021 14:06
Lots of trees, nice to be in town as well. Very clean washrooms, coin showers at reasonable $$

Only drawback is how close the trailer sites are but overall good value
19 July 2021 0:16
Nice clean campground. We stayed in a cabin that had full kitchen. It was hot inside but there were fans that kinda helped. There's two playground parks near by that was very enjoyable by my kids.
My friend also stayed in a cabin. Her cabin was smaller but had A/C and fire pit.
I would come back again.
16 July 2021 10:39
Great place. Always available if you need help. People running it are very pleasant and efficient. Washrooms are beyond clean. So surprised. Yes I'm sure I'll be back to relax and enjoy the surroundings when I come to town.
08 July 2021 20:39
It’s a nice campsite which is only about one hour drive from Calgary city. Family friendly, super close to dinosaurs museum, hoodoos trail and some other famous site seeing locations. Five minutes walking distance to the fishing river. Fabulous camping location for the weekend.
03 July 2021 20:36
It was a good place to stay, the place was quiet and relaxed. It was also very clean, I didn't find much litter on the ground. Although we could use a bit more greenery here and there. Thank you!
03 July 2021 7:29
It was a great camping trip at River Grove Campground. The impressive stay made all my family members very happy and my kids were eagerly expecting next visit and even pushed me to book more campsites at River Grove for next year.

Before our trailer set up, we used the public washroom which is so clean and well maintained just like those in big shopping mall. The campsite is leveled and spacious. There is no challenging for new travel trailer user to level and hook up a big rig. Big trees are around the sites but well-trimmed so no any concern of scratching when we tow our trailer to approach.

The location is very convenient. The water has high quality which is supplied from town water plant. The staff are nice, helpful and knowledgeable about RV.
29 June 2021 4:43
Well maintained campground and super friendly services. Washroom facilities were clean and onsite laundry is very convenient. We stayed in the Cabin #10, this 2 story unit was equiped with full bath, full kitchen and 3 double beds which perfect fit our family of five. The campground was surrounded with mature trees and every site has a fire pit and picnic table near by. Truly enjoy our stay and will definitely return again.
27 June 2021 23:59
Actually couldn't fit a tent, picnic table, and fire pit safely in entire camp site. We left. Sign at the front desk says "No Refunds". Nice enough folks who work there, but I would not recommend this place to anyone.
26 June 2021 17:15
The stocked camp store, clean washrooms, 3 dollar laundry, 1 dollar showers, friendly/helpful staff, dish station, and playground almost made up for the tiny cramped campsites. Sites had shade which is vital in the badlands and missing at other nearby campsites. The beautiful cottonwood trees are great but none of this makes up for the cramped sites. The tent sites are the smallest I've ever seen. There must be a better campsite near drumheller but until I find it River Grove will have to do.
26 June 2021 1:16
Wifi isnt the best, but owner seems nice.told me it was good because I had a test but wasnt as stable as seemed:/, it's okay though, the trailer court is next to a park and it has a park in the trailer park as well, and it's a nice setup
21 June 2021 19:53
Great location, very close to town. All the staffs are very friendly and helpful. We have camped there a few times, have great fun with friends and families. Highly recommended.
13 June 2021 16:36
Loved this place. Well looked after. Friendly staff. Close to downtown so a nice walk to interesting local shops. Will definitely return.
11 June 2021 9:22
We had a great stay! In a cute little cabin with a fire pit. Chopped some wood! We thought we lost our Ax, but it was in the lost and found the next day. Great stay!
09 June 2021 13:28
Quiet n Cozy cabins, friendly owner n staff. Easy access to fishing spot n golf course. Had a wonderful time with a group of 20 adults n 15 kids. Owner was able to accomendating to our needs in great details.:) Gracias!
04 June 2021 4:29
Don't camp here if you aren't a traditional family! This camp site is ageist and discriminatory. It is automatically assumed that a group larger than 2 adults will be noisy and disruptive and are not allowed to share a campsite. They didn't even consider allowing a group of (heaven forbid!) 3 adult women to share a tent and expected one of use to buy an additional tent site and sleep alone. Which is not only ludicrous but DANGEROUS! Making a girl sleep in a strange place on her own!
I don't know if this is a money grabbing scheme or just plain discrimination but I for one do not appreciate being limited because I am not a traditionally married woman with kids. I can't imagine the looks and treatment we might have gotten from the staff just for our age if we had gone here.
For the record me and my friend are all hardworking, responsible, quiet people who just wanted to sit around a fire after months of covid quarantine! One phone call left me frustrated and in tears!
03 June 2021 0:07
Absolutely wonderful camping site. The location is nice, just at the riverside, and close to the museum, mini church. It is quiet and clean in site. There is a playground for children to play. Especially the administrators are very kindly and friendly, they always try them best to satisfy customers. For sure, we will come again and introduce it to my friends.
31 May 2021 6:53
Great! My family stayed here for two days in a cabin. It is clean and tidy, suitable for a family of four to live. The environment here is very good, All the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a playground for children in the yard. We'll come again if we have a chance.
17 May 2021 11:15
The first time that we take our trailer to this camping ground is in June 2020. Since then we stay this camp ground several times. I love this place for the following reasons:

1) This camp ground is quiet during the night because it is not near the major road. I have problem with sleep and can not stand the noise during the night.

2) This camp ground is pretty clean and well maintained. The public washroom has flash toilet and shower, and pretty clean.

3) the last is the best. This campground has a lot of big trees. Drumheller is located in the valley, and can be really hot during summer time. Those big trees can provide nice shade to our trailer, so that our trailer is not over heated because of direct sunshine. That is why we really like this place.
16 November 2020 15:21
Lots are spacious, clean, well kept campground, lots are well defined using old railroad ties. Level lots with minimal blocks. Very close to downtown, less then 10min on bikes. Will come back again for sure.
24 August 2020 17:24
Has enough trees to give privacy between each campsite. Has water and electricity AND wifi. Pretty nice! Staff are a bit pushy on checking out on time though
