After urine samples and ultrasounds with my normal clinic, my family doctor and radiologist all said my iud had perforated my uterus and that explained my intense pains for the last three weeks. 811 told me this is an emergency so I went to ER, where I was told "even if the iud is embedded, it's still doing its job" and "it might fall out on its own", "the ultrasound is subjective. " the ER doctor was pressuring me to keep the iud and dismissed the scan report. He had no other explanation on the cause of pain and suggested I just take Advil and wait it out. Obviously, I asked him to take it out anyways and, lo and behold, my pain went away after a few days. I cannot believe after waiting 10 hours and being told I can't eat in case I need surgery, that a male doctor has the audacity to say my doctors are wrong and there's nothing wrong with me. What a joke.

The rest of the staff was very kind, and tried to be helpful at least.

Cell phone service inside the hospital is abysmal.

The GI diagnostic unit clerks (and the urology one next door) wrap up their shifts at 3pm.

Meaning there's no one to ensure you're responsible adult comes to pick you up if you have a 12: 30 appointment.

Meaning you can't leave the area until your responsible adult comes if you've had sedation.

Meaning your responsible adult is waiting for calls that can't get through.

Meaning that nurses are working in the back and don't check the front and you might end up being helped by a janitor

Other than that, the prep information and care I received for my GI procedure was thorough and top-notch.

This is the best experience with Alberta healthcare system within the fourteen years I live in Canada. Everyone here is very friendly. The surgery went very well. This is very important as it makes me believe the healthcare system is still running properly.
Katie at day surgery is a very nice and kind girl.

Over 15 nurses and 2 doctors… wait time is 3 hours but it’s actually 8 hours for a doctor to even look at you… all the nurses do is walk around to get their steps in. Beyond disappointed. Nothing beats south campus hospital.
01 August 2023 16:01
All of my 3 children was born on this hospital. They have great doctors and support staffs. Very awesome overall service! Im glad we went here. This experience gave me a newfound respect for doctors/nurses and the love of my life, the woman who gave life to our kids, how hard the process is. They make it seem so easy. Thank You RGH!

I had the misfortune of breaking a few bones yesterday. Everyone at Rockyview was caring, compassionate and took great care of me. I was triaged, treated, casted and out the door within 3 hours. I can't thank you enough!
31 March 2023 2:56
Learn to help sickest or most life threatening injuries first hospitals are nothing but a joke people bleeding out seen after people with broken bones months prior.
26 March 2023 7:38
The Emergency has a VERY pleasant male doctor there, he’s always so pleasant, kind/nice, caring and friendly. I don’t know his name but he made my social anxiety/nervousness completely disappear when I didn’t want to do a saliva test (I didn’t want to gag too loud & disturb other people) but he loudly gagged with me to ensure I felt comfortable.
One of the best hospitals in Calgary for sure.

This is an updated review on Feb 18 2023. I entered the emergency around 11: 30am Feb 17th and I saw 2.5 hrs waiting time. So I decided to stay since I figured I can pickup my son by 6: 00pm from his daycare. Sadly from triage to exam room it took 6 hrs and when I was waiting to see a doctor a medical student came to the room and started the exam procedure. After she finished she said she would go find the attending doctor but after 10min she didn’t show up and around 5: 30pm I had to leave to pick up my son after 6hrs of waiting.
More comments and questions: why the waiting time is not real waiting time? There was an elderly woman in her 80s in emergency room and was saying last week it took her 9 hrs to see a doctor while waiting time on the board was showing 3hrs. The health care system in regards to emergencies is a broken system without a doubt in this province but the question is who is responsible for this broken system? What is government of Alberta doing to solve the current issue of super long waiting times in emergency rooms?

I have a minor surgery here, the doctors and nurses are very dedicated and happy, very grateful, hope the staff here are always healthy to help more people
24 February 2023 22:20
I have been here since 9pm last night. In emergency. I have
what seems to be a dislocated shoulder. Each new arrival gets seen before me apparently from what I have seen no doctors work from 330 til 7am the just reassess
And can't take on anymore patients.
It is so frustrating to see them dismiss your
situation as not an emergency. So as the new arrivals arrive they get served first well they are coughing all over the 5 people in the room F that haven't moved since 3: 30am. At 3: 30 I had 14 infront of me at 7am I have 12 in front of me. Just an observation no one I see is suffering from extreme pain. The lady that was went home could barley walk. They don't even look like there is a thing wrong with them. I am so frustrated. They don't even have assigned Doctors for strictly emergency. I was told maybe there is a shifted doctor. Scheduled to emergency today. I haven't slept in 2 days. I had a fall maybe a stroke. But hey I'm not a priority. My God I can't move my shoulder. This is intolerable. The only reason it went from 14 to 12 because 2 people left. 2 days awake going onto 3 good times. Not happy here at all.
07 February 2023 10:01
Based on two visits, but dominantly on the 2nd visit. I came on a night where I was in so much pain I could no longer walk. I made it clear that I needed to know what was wrong with me, and that my EI benefits will expire soon and I will be left with the same issues and no income. After a physical exam he determined that a cyst was the source of the pain and then checked my blood and urine. Despite a heartfelt plea he said that I would need to see other doctors to get help. This while the staff up front are talking about how they have never seen the hospital so empty. He gave me a prescription for pain knowing that I did not want to just use narcotics without a diagnosis. Nothing more was done to help me, even though the pain is so much that I cannot walk. He could have investigated further. He just didn't want to for whatever reason. Perhaps because of how busy they have been for months. But they were definitely not busy tonight.

For the second time in a row, both tonight and in September, I was sent away with no answers because they wouldn't dig deeper than blood work and urine. The doctor was not rude, but he had no empathy for me whatsoever, and did no more than the minimum required plus a script for pain management.

I will never return to this hospital, and if you are not dying, you shouldn't either.

Had an amazing experience of labour & delivery department at Rocky View general hospital with our first child.

All the staff are so kind and helpful and that is what was required for this first time mama.

Each nurse we met treated us so well and calmly cleared all our doubts as first time parents.

God bless all the staff of the hospital
25 January 2023 10:58
Spent 6 hours in the ER last night to basically sit there in pain for 5 hours, crying, and puking before they literally said there wasn’t much they could do for me besides give me an iv and Tylenol. When I came in I was having intense chest pain and a hard time breathing and they literally couldn’t care less. The nurses do not listen to you at all and brush you off. They are incredibly rude and they literally did nothing about my chest pain. Don’t go here unless you absolutely have too. (Even then maybe don’t) Also this was area A of the ER.
DO BETTER
16 January 2023 4:28
I have the utmost respect for frontline healthcare workers and understand they're understaffed and overworked but I find many of the Nurses/Dr's and HCA's in my moms unit (84) to be somewhat cold and detached. I asked if someone could help mom out of bed and into a large chair. Kept getting told they'll send people in. 2 hrs.later not one health professional came in, even to check on her.

This was my first time receiving care at this hospital. I am highly displeased and disappointed to report that my first impression with this hospital has been atrocious. This is the first and last time that I will ever accept receiving care at this hospital. I am highly displeased with the care that I received in ED department in the F unit today on November 21,2022. The nursing staff that was assigned to my care, I felt was incompetentent, unprofessional, unethical, and uncoordinated to the nursing excellence and standards that nurses, especially RNs are held and subject to. As a former clinician, I identified gross negligence practices such as poor hand hygine and unthetical patient handeling and conduct towards a diagnosed patient with serious and persistent psychiatric conditions requiring highly particular trauma informed appriach due to heavy amounts of diagnosed ptsd and trauma. While waiting 5 hours to even so much as be assessed by clinicians, I encounteted two grossly and poorly trained ED physicians and a total of the RNs, including one charge nurse, that porrly orchrstrated their nursing care and ED management. I also effectively launched internal investigations with patient feedback and concerns, whete I was validated that staff conduct was in fact highly unethical and unprofessional for clinicians held to such high standards and regards. I do thank my mental health nurse of the day, that helped me sort out the trauma from my interactions with her co-workers in the ED department, security, and Peace Officers. I appreciate and valued her time, support, and empathetic active listening and sensitivity for my condition. I appreciate you taking me safely home via taxi.
07 January 2023 3:47
Staff was meh.some nice some not so nice… a kid puked in the middle of the seating area which the staff was made aware of but didn’t clean up until 2 hours after, so the floor was covered in paper towels and smelt like puke. Only annoyance was watching a handful of people who arrived after us get in first, with already long wait times (6+ hours).
04 January 2023 9:16
The best hospital with the most knowledgeable doctors and nurses. Our stay here, for the birth of our daughter, was really pleasant and we always felt safe throughout the multiple procedures the mom and the baby had to go through. Nurses are very responsive and are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. The doctors take safety first and are very skilled. The various departments in the hospital operate in synergy.
30 December 2022 14:30
Seems like this hospital needs more doctors one isn't good enough for this large building and this big city. Better off driving out of town for immediate care peeps.
27 December 2022 16:10
0 out of 10 this place is so abusive and aggressive to patients and yelling names and their ailments for everyone to hear no sense of confidentiality, not cleaning any of the equipment between patients.losing charts yelling about it and then actually yelling at and talking down to patients threatening them, a little bit of power runs to their head I have watched people leave crying, These people need your help they don't want to be their any more then you clearly don't want to help them. The whole emergency staff needs some sort of hr meeting on how to talk to people like they are human beings and not cattle have some respect please do better!
22 December 2022 11:17
Even though it took about 5 hours from start to finish, the experience was so enjoyable I almost didn’t want to leave. The staff was really nice and cheerful and I loved the coffee shop
25 November 2022 20:48
Everyone in this hospital that we've met are awesome. The nurses are so caring and showed that they know their work, specially Nurse Jesselyn, Victoria and the cool doctor Kovid! I hope I spelled his name right haha. I commend these people, give them a raise. Superb service, thanks for helping us bringing our firstborn to our arms.
21 November 2022 21:12
Worst hospital. Wanna be Peace cops, and amateur nurses. Like who hired these people. Plus a woman named "Joanna" thats not her real name probably but she's scummy.
21 November 2022 3:38
Bad place, nurses laughing while talking to patients screaming in pain, not told anything on when my pregnant girlfriend (who is in an intense amount of pain) will be seen, at this point we have been here for 4 hours. I’m about to go down the street and call an ambulance to get her some help. For the most part very rude staff.any other hospital in Calgary will do much better. This hospital feels like a place where lots of “freak accidents”may happen.
17 November 2022 11:23
The doctors and nurses from Labour and Delivery to Postpartum were absolutely amazing. I wish I remembered all the names. My partner and I are so grateful to have them be next to us during the birth of our first child. They made the experience so amazing. The L&D nurses were so calm and nice. They really made some tough times easy to bear. The postpartum nurses were so informative and caring. They made the first few days of postpartum so easy. Thank you so much!
07 November 2022 4:51
Worst hospital in whole Calgary! They lost my blood sample! Had to redraw blood. Do NOT go here unless you are dying! The wait times are much much longer than estimated wait times! I had to wait 7 hrs! You will come out of this facility in much worse condition than you go in! Staff is rude, racist, so crowded, small waiting area! Never going back here again!
03 November 2022 15:23
Staff are not just Amazing but reDedicated themselves in an awe inspiring fashion.
Thank You ️
02 November 2022 16:54
This is nothing to do with the nurses and doctors. But I cannot help but notice, in area F to be exact, how the waiting room is filling up, patients are sitting directly next to eachother. And Calgary police is just taking their breaks it seems in the waiting room. Do they not have somewhere else to sit that is not taking chairs from patients?
02 November 2022 16:46
The maternity ward in this hospital, bar none, has the best nurses and doctors. We had such a wonderful experience when our daughter was born. All of the nurses and doctors were patient, knowledgeable, and had amazing bedside manners. We felt safe and secure in knowing we were getting the best treatment. Whatever these amazing professionals earn is not nearly enough. I’ve never seen such dedicated, hard-working people. It makes me reassess my own work habits lol.
31 October 2022 1:29
I took my little one and I felt so disappointed about the waiting time and it took us about 3 hours to seeing the doctor. Only one nurse there was friendly the main doctor who saw my kid at the emergency room was awful unfriendly and he did not know how to treat his patients specially with kids
24 October 2022 17:18
Get it together Alberta health. Our health care system is a joke! I’m on hour 5 of being in the ER, the nurses are angels here I will give them that. Doctors don’t look very busy, have absolutely zero pep in their step and are surely the reason why the ER is so backed up. Only came in with 4 people ahead, not impressed.
21 October 2022 13:12
It was really cool wasting my entire night here only to get glue on my cut which just reopened the next day. Saw my family doctor and she was astounded they didn't actually stitch it up because of how deep it was.too late now to get it properly taken care of. Hope i don't get a nasty infection in my open wound, but if I do get an infection and need emergency care I'm not coming back here. Thanks for absolutely nothing.

It was also cool how only one nurse was processing people until the very end when another nurse that was bumbling around the entire time helped out when there were only two people waiting, speeding up the process for 2 whole people while everyone else had to wait hours.
20 October 2022 16:20
Went here with dizziness, confusion and difficulty breathing,
they didn't help at all said I wasn't dying and wanted to have me committed. Turns out my blood was to thick and I had to take aspirin 81. THANKS WEBMD IM just gonna use you and meds I buy off the internet like usual.
09 July 2022 8:18
Amazing experience.
Nobody wants to be in the ER but the staff here make it an easier time.

Intake staff were wonderful when I brought my toddler in and the attending doctor was brilliant.
Everyone was compassionate and great with kids.
The wait time in the ER was shockingly quick.
I've never been seen in an ER that quickly.

A scared mama came in with her baby and we were made much more comfortable during our visit.

Wost Lab Location in Calgary!
I had an appointment this morning for colonoscopy, tired and fasting for 24 hours! I stop at the lab on my way to drop off a stool specimen, they ask me to wait with the walk-in patients just to drop off a specimen, when I told them that I can’t wait the lady told me to go to the other door where it says SPECIMEN DROP OFF. A nice employee was there and took the sample and started reviewing the requisition to make sure all the information needed is there. Suddenly an old lady comes and tells her that I cannot drop specimen there! The young lady said that they do that all the time but she insisted that I can just drop it off at the outpatient and she walked me there. Again the outpatient lad assistant tells her that I refused to do the line up! So I had to cancel and run for my colonoscopy appointment and carry the stool specimen with me!
This is a really bad service!
At all other labs and especially the Glenbrook Location to which I go all the time, there is a special box for drop off and you don’t have to wait in the line to just drop off a specimen!
This happened today June 1st, 2022 @ 09.25
25 June 2022 20:03
The staff were ridiculously rude. We spent a total of 31 hours in that hospital and safe to say we are never going back. We had to have an emergency surgery done, and while they were prepping they told us once we got a room we could have two visitors. Well, we got a room, and they didn’t allow any visitors at all. My partner had to beg them to allow me to come in for 15 minutes, AND THE FIRST THING THEY SAID TO ME WHEN I WALKED IN WAS “We’re starting your timer now. ” The staff was rude the entire time, making sarcastic jokes and remarks about her “always beeding her partner. ” On top of that, pre-surgery, the surgeon said she wouldn’t have to stay overnight after the operation and that she could go home to be with her family. When she woke up, the surgeon was gone, and did NOT sign her discharge papers, so she was stuck there for an extra 10 hours. Not only are the staff incredibly rude, but also very chaotic and never on the same page. We will not be returning to this hospital anytime soon.
19 June 2022 23:21
I was admitted to the ER in Rockyview with a chest pain and restricted breathing. I was taken in immediately, and met with Dr. Conradie. This Dr.has an excellent bedside manner, and made me feel far more relaxed. He ordered several tests for which I went through in the next few hours, and they found the infection in my lungs. I stayed in the ER for 36 hours as they had no beds in the wards. This hospital is packed to the gills, yet staff are pleasant and attentive. I wouldn't be able to do so. The ER is a VERY busy and loud place, liken it to a 3 ring circus and a casino with all the monitors beeping. My respect and admiration for all of the nurses and doctors that helped me, they were all were wonderful. We are blessed to have these people available for our immediate care, they come and do what's needed to get you back on your feet, no matter how belligerent some of the patients were. Thank you again. I would send a basket but my son tells me no food because of COVID. IJM
12 June 2022 13:05
I had surgery here today and can say the nurses and doctors here very compassionate and caring. Pretty nerve-wracking going under the knife but they made it as comfortable as possible. Shout out to the day surgery staff.

Sincerely,
Mario

The majority of nurses on Unit 48 are incompetent, and don't allow visitation to patients that are not "well" enough to sign an arbitrary non-legal document. They ignore legally binding Personal Directives. One of the nurses couldn't even bother to place her name-tag right-side up. My family was denied visitation of our family member for several days.even though the day before we could visit only if we convinced this family member to receive a COVID booster. Bureaucratic non-sense and incompetence with NO ACCOUNTABILITY. We will be contacting a lawyer. Dr Kamal is a narcissistic liar that pretends to know more about law than actual medicine. He hung up on the brief phone call after stating he felt threatened when questioned after the results of an EEG he requested? The doctors act as if they are not accountable for their negligence and general incompetence.
11 March 2022 0:49
It's a horrible place there. The nurses in ER are not only rude, but don't even know how to draw blood etc. Very incompetency. If they don't know how to do their jobs or they don't even like their jobs, should not be there.
02 March 2022 2:09
I went many times in the last year to the emergency of this Hospital and honnestly they deserve 5 stars. There is almost never a wait, neither at sorting nor at check-in and you get to a bed very quickly. The doctors and nurses are nice and courteous and really professional. I always feel like I'm treated like a little baby. I lived the nightmares of emergencies in Quebec and I can say that Rockyview is positioned light years away from these latter
20 February 2022 7:05
Honestly waited with my wife and sick baby for 4 1/2 hrs. This place is right in line with Canadian health care (garbage). Thx for the advil.
14 February 2022 12:10
I had to spend some time in the hospital this week suffering from the worst illness of my life with Covid-19. I literally would have died if I didn’t go to emergency. I was taken very well care of by the paramedics, nurses and the first doctor who saw me and arranged for my treatment (a young Asian lady). She, and the nurses who saw me, pulled me aside to discuss my symptoms and illness as some of the issues were embarrassing to discuss around nearby patients I was sharing a room with. That doctor assured me she would ensure I was much better before I left the hospital and was very caring and discreet as were all of the nurses. I was asleep from meds on the last day I was there when I was awakened loudly by a giant bald man who introduced himself as Dr. Gerald Lazarenko. He woke all 3 of us patients in the room with his booming voice. He proceeded to loudly go over my chart and ask embarrassing questions. When I responded quietly he told me I had to speak louder. Then he abruptly told me he was having my iv removed so I would go home. This interaction was all of 3 minutes and was so intimidating i am making a formal complaint. He was rude and very disrespectful while I was so incredibly ill. No doctor should behave like that, regardless of the shortage of doctors. It was horrific.
13 February 2022 14:59
I was at Rockyview hospital for 2 days regarding a kidney stone.
I'm a patient from hell since I have preexisting conditions. My blood does not coagulate and I'm allergic to many meds. Nurses and doctors were unfailingly patient and cautious re operating on me.
I was so impressed by all the staff on the daycare ward.
Cheerful, helpful and kind.
I met so many different staff at Rockeyview and all of them were excellent.
06 February 2022 5:45
I had a hysterectomy at Rockyview in October, 2020. Because of covid, I had to arrive at the hospital alone. Everyone was so gentle and patient with me. I had experienced a medical trauma as a child from a nurse who wasn't kind; this surgery helped reverse my fear of hospitals.

A huge thank you to the nurses who got me ready for surgery, the staff who wheeled me to the waiting space, the volunteer who sat with me and helped me stay calm, and the incredible anesthesiologist, surgeons and operating room nurses. I remember climbing onto the table and starting to panic, asking if they were sure the anaesthesia would work. The nurse held my hand until I was out. I will never forget that kindness. Thank you to the nurses who helped me in recovery and brought me so many cups of water on request (sorry! We weren't allowed to go to the machine because of covid). They were so encouraging when I started walking the halls and I appreciated their support.

The entire experience was positive and life-changing for me. Healthcare workers are heroes; fight for them the way they fight for us.
06 February 2022 2:59
So frustrated, you expect from ER doctors to help
or at least to answer on your questions. Waited 3 hours to get my answers: "l don't know" and did the pcr test.
04 February 2022 8:11
My husband came into the emergency room due to heart condition, the nurses and doctors took great care of him and we felt that they were really professional. Good service overall. Thank you doctor and nurses!
01 February 2022 5:16
Her name is Denise and she works the overnight shift in Day surgery; She doesn’t seem to know how to interact with humans. Worst attitude, horrible and negative. I would highly recommend that this nurse gets pulled to the back office where she deals with papers instead of People.
30 January 2022 14:19
Good general hospital, the staff was nice and helpful. The wait time was a little too long but other than that. It’s good to visit.
24 January 2022 0:45
I’m super frustrated with rude, heartless, miserable and mean nurses such as Louise who works in emergency. Wow, this nurse needs to learn how to interact with people or go home. She is so rude and got disgusting attitude. Specially working over Christmas, they sure make it clear that it’s such an inconvenience and she can’t Ben said it she didn’t want to be working on Christmas. Well, that’s not my fault and she has no right to take it out on the patient. I made a prayer that she will get sick and she will get the same treatment maybe she’ll learn her lesson. We have been coming here for two days due to surgery complications and she sure made it very very hard for us for no reason - I’m actually afraid to ask her anything because she keeps snapping. It’s only early morning for her to be stressed. I truly wish from the bottom of my heart they’d put her somewhere where she doesn’t deal with people because she is making it very hard for us for no apparent reason except being rude and without any manners. Honestly, the majority of staff are wonderful and caring and I appreciate all of them trying to help out over the holidays, but if someone miserable like Louise, they maybe she shouldn’t work and ruin other’s mood. I honestly don’t wish this treatment for anything from this lady and I hope that one day soon she will need someone’s help and she gets treated the way she treated us. What a horrible lady is nurse Louise. What goes around comes around and I truly pray for her to learn a valuable lesson soon. She may need help and not find it.
23 January 2022 10:30
It was remarkable how well I was treated my nurse was the smartest kindest attentive but not over bearing she was sweet and always was friendly, and my luck she was the most stunning woman and she owned her job and every patient she cared for. I almost forgot about where I was and almost asked her out, you know who you are

Amongst Covid-19 and Anti everything folk I ventured out for a suspected Kidney stone. I was amazed at the professionalism and compassion shown me throughout the time I spent there. I have always known the Rockeyview has been exemplary over the decades I've been here but I'm so proud of everyone working through these trying times and maintaining Bravery throughout. Love ya all.
23 November 2021 16:20
Unfortunately, I ended up in the ER with a serious issue (non-Covid). I was admitted for a few days to get treatment, monitoring and stabilization. No one wants to be in the ER or hospital but I was treated very well here. I received excellent care from the ER doctors, nurses and staff, and excellent care in the part of Unit 47 that I was in. Shout out especially to Dr. Simmons and RN Shauna who were so supportive, understanding and compassionate. They went over and above in taking care of me. Bless these medical professionals for all their hard work, especially in what has been an extremely trying and distressing time due to Covid and cutbacks to AHS from the provincial government!
12 November 2021 20:47
Got admitted in the er, ems took us here because its the only hospital atm that can admit us the fastest, we got admitted alright, but didnt got seen after 3 hours after admission. YES 3 HOURS IN “EMERGENCY”, admitted but didnt got seen after 3 hours. Couldve drove next town over and be seen faster. All that hurrying the ambulance did, just to be told to wait for 3 hours.
10 November 2021 9:58
The staff were great. I went through emergency for an MRI appt, and notice at the front door some carpeting that lookee like it had vomit stuck in it. It was disgusting, and strikes me as a poorly cleaned environment, and for a hospital? No wonder infection is rampant in hospitals. You would think they would at least clean up the obvious. Gross. There shouldn't BE any carpet in emerg to begin with! You could be doing much better AHS.
02 November 2021 20:57
Extremely rude and unprofessional from Triage to dismissal. If you have a patient that doesn't speak English, don't come here!
31 October 2021 22:50
In the emergency room and have not been seen by a doctor for over an hour what’s the point of even asking for help when no one’s helping you
29 October 2021 2:55
I was here a few months ago for hip replacement surgery. I found the care was excellent. Everything was explained to me and I felt that I was in good hands while I was there.
26 October 2021 15:22
This hospital is awful. Never go here if you have mental health. My partner had extream chest pain. They said it was "anxiety". The doctors where rude, awful. The nurse are horid. Avoid this hospital. Everyone will treat you like absolute garbage.
23 October 2021 2:38
I had a recent excellent experience at the Rocky view. From the minute I walked in, it was easy to find out where to go. I had day surgery from checking in to surgery and checking out it was a breeze. Everyone was friendly, helpful and polite. Hard working staff were always cheerful even when dealing with cantankerous and ornery people. They took good care of me and made me comfortable. I was informed of my procedure every step of the way. These hard working folks don't get paid enough.
11 October 2021 18:29
Delivered my second baby at Rockyview. My nurse was super nice to help me with my newborn the first night so I could have some sleep.
08 October 2021 15:18
It offers 5 star service. I had to get an emergency colon surgery done for cancer and they got it done very quickly and provided excellent post surgery care. Calgary rocks. One of the best health care facilities in Canada.

February 2020: having great trouble and a few seizures before going in, I went in to the ER in great pain. Then after failing to provide me any physical examination or medical care for a very serious female issues I didn't know about yet - hardly able to walk but they didn't care - (physical problems discovered shortly after through MRI, surgery following 6 months later where they also found a second additional female issue), Rockyview ER dept kicked my out of the bed without any care but a very traumatizing conversation asking about my childhood past - I could barely get out of I was in pain- then told me to get out, calling me mentally ill (never in my life) and handing me some resource papers, then make me sleep on the bare wait room floor for 5 hours for the buses to start running. It was the middle of the night, I'm an epileptic and can't drive.

AHS Patient Relations department and head of this hospital failed to correct my directed grievance to them twice. So now it's public. And I should add I have the entire experience recorded, for my memory reference- including the part where I got lost on the bus home because I was seizury.

Very professional and very kind. Thanks to every doctor, nurse and staff. Hope they are happy every day.

Mental health care here is a joke. You are treated as a label not a person. Begged to be admitted for my safety instead was ushered out my security and put into a taxi and sent home, told to deal with it myself. Because I'll always be an ongoing risk to myself and there is nothing they can do about it. Thankfully I got help elsewhere otherwise I likely wouldn't be alive.

Had an incredible surgery team! Thank you for making my first surgery (ever) bearable and as comfortable as possible.

Really appreciate that my anxiety and fears were recognized and taken into account. Could not have hoped for a better team. Recovered in full, and feeling incredible. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Very impressed with my experience at the Rockyview emergency care department lastnight. They were relatively fast for a hospital but most importantly all the staff were amazing! I had to leave a review because I saw multiple nurses and the doctor and was so impressed by how thorough they were with my treatment and how kind all the staff was. Working through a pandemic can not be easy but they took the time to make me feel comfortable and well taken care of. Thank you so much!

I had a day surgery on March 10th. This was my first time ever being admitted to the hospital. I am so grateful to the doctor and nurses and for the kindness & care I received from everyone there. Their staff is truly amazing. Thank you all!

OMG! Anything I would say be less for this place. I am sooo grateful for having my baby in this hospital. This place is spectacular. The nurses were so calm and humble I can’t thank enough they all cared for me like my family. Thank you Rockyview for the touching experience. We are grateful for each one of you for taking care of me, my little one and my husband too. ️️️️

A while back I had a nurse do something to me at this hospital that violates human rights in a major way. I have never had anybody treat me so poorly or treat me like a dog the way she did. People in jail don't even get treated the way this nurse treated me. I don't want to say specifically what she did to me as it is not only humiliating but also very traumatizing for me. If she did it to me, surely she treats others the same. I hope she loses her job.

I went in to ER and the wait time was very short and the doctor was very knowledgeable and nurses very helpful!

I've been here twice for surgery and once for emergency. They could work on educating all departments on working with trans/diverse persons but overall they are a good hospital. The time I went to emergency everyone was awesome (especially the blood work/sample collector dude). Both surgeries went excellent and most of the nurses were really nice. The first time I went was the worst but I wasn't as confident then and didn't feel comfortable telling people they were using the wrong pronouns (it was on my chart but I dunno if people really looked at it or not).

The staff at Rocky View is amazing. I had hip replacement surgery on Nov 25- 27, recovering in ward 81 (11). The staff all seem to enjoy their work and are equally cheerful, personable and professional.
I want to specifically recognise and thank all of them who ministered to me. Five nurses (Amanda, Andrea, Emma, Susan & Tanner) ; two MRU student nurses (Genevieve & Nina) ; and two physios (Maija & Regina).
I hope I got their names right; I scribbled them down as I was leaving, and only just got around to letting the Rocky View management know how wonderful they all were (and I'm sure still are)!
Kudos to them all from a very grateful patient. George Eynon.

The nurses were marvellous, so busy yet had time to care for me when I needed help.
All I can say is thank you to the staff of Unit 72.

Dr Barr was great as usual. The Urology nurses and staff were extraordinary. Highest level of care and expertise. The nurses especially had to put up with an old Army, grunt major, and they handled me with ease. I still hate hospitals, but the staff were second to none. To Mi, thanks for your professionalism.

I had the most awful experience at rockieview. I was in labour for 3 days, second day my water broke, I went to rockyview, the nurse said that my water hasn't broken  and sent us home. On our way home the nurse called my husband phone saying we should come back that she thinks my water had broken. We turned around and wont back to rockyview. I was in labour till the next morning and they told me I had to do emergency c section. It was the most horrible experience and my baby ended up staying at the hospital because of some complications.
If I ever get another child, it definitely not going to be at rockieview, they didn't treated me and my baby nicely.

Dr Lisa Harpur in psychiatry forges and falsifies medical documents and papers among other things and blatantly lies and does everything in order to sabatoge patients and abu ses and mis treats and makes in - appropriate di s gusting comments and is physically v1 olent as well towards patients she deletes all of her negative reviews and writes fake positive ones but the people deserve to know the truth and be warned she is a danger to the patients as well as others she is beyond ev 1 l and unstable and crazy herself

Very impressed with the level of professionals in this hospital. I would be lying if I say there was not waiting time, actually my wife and I spent over 12 hours rushing to the ER in the course of two days, but the waiting was just minor considering the great service we received. Really amazed with the staff, We did not expect to find such courteous people.

Poor treatment by “Dr. Joe” and his nurses. Was told, “I dont care where she goes, the door, a chair, the hallway, the ground, get her out of here” and various other mental abuses over the course of four hours. Doctor refused to give his full name so all I have is Joe. I have recorded all conversations and will be filing with the college of physicians. Enjoy your check up with the college, Joe.

I would like to thank the Rockyview hospital staff. I will say this covid-19 has made things very difficult due to the nature of the virus. However the staff are the most professional, kindest hearts. Very accountable, super friendly and helpful to everyone and super efficient in what they do. This was by far the best hospital experience I have had in years and want to say thank you very much.

Also I want to give a shout out to Kevin and Glenn two paramedics From Airdrie whom delivered me to the Rockyview hospital. Very on point to discuss there wisdom of the symptoms and the correct placement of the patient in their care. Kevin and Glenn thank you so much. I really appreciate you guys. We are so blessed to have such great public servants.
Some would say well it is there job. I say thank you very much you guys helped me immensely and Rockyview staff nurses, doctors and subordinate staff were amazing!
