Rockyview Hotel

Took a friend of ours from Vancouver to the Hotel for lunch this week (twice). Food was great, service was great (River was our server). Prices and quantities were great. Our favourite eating place in Cochrane lived up to our high praise.

The Rockyview Hotel was one of our stops on our Vintage Goldwing Bike Poker Rally and BOY it did not disappoint. There was 9 of us and this stop actually MADE the whole trip. We are still talking about it and cannot believe the service we received. Definitely our favorite stop and memory of the trip. I don't even know where to start with this review as we just returned and I am so overwhelmed by the service and the hospitality the owners Michelle and Sean showed all of us. I booked for all 9 of us not knowing what to expect but after speaking with Michelle prior to coming I knew it was going to be great hospitality as she was so personable on the phone and insisted we meet as soon as we arrived. Its very hard to book an entire weekend of stops and events for so many other people worrying about quality and service but we left with an overwhelming feeling of honest and true hospitality like nothing we've ever experienced. Michelle was there when we arrived and took the time to give us all a tour and history of the hotel which was one of my favorite parts. From checking us in to our rooms right at our dinner table, the amazing portions of fantastic food, mingling with us throughout the night while we danced (Michelle even joined in) and celebrated, to even being there in the morning giving us a special spot in the bar for breakfast so we could do our challenges away from the breakfast dining area and then sending us off with hugs and requests for our return. We are all already planning to go back as we miss the great atmosphere of this amazing piece of history. The room are very quaint, and so well decorated with very unique rustic designs that was right up my alley. There are historical photos of the hotel throughout and even a piano outside the door where many come and play and we were fortunate enough to experience it. All the staff were very friendly and very good at what they do. And I have to reiterate about the portion sizes.in a time of inflation, everything seems so cut back but not here. Everyone was amazed at how much food was given, the quality was top notch and prices are very reasonable. If you like adventure and amazing hospitality the Rockyview Hotel is in very good hands with Michelle and Sean and it will NOT disappoint.

Absolutely awful service! We were waiting at the bar for 30 minutes and then they told us to sit at a table and someone will take our order.so we sat down and waited another 45 minutes, waved down multiple waitresses and still no one took our order. I would give 0 stars if I could. The staff was rude and not helpful at all

My husband and I stopped and stayed here, on the way back to the United States, after taking a camper to Sherwood Park in Alberta. We love to stay in unique and different places. As soon as I saw a picture of the Rockyview Hotel, I knew this was the place for us to stop and stay for the night. We were not disappointed. The owner, Michelle, was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We chatted with her for a while and then got settled into our room. We stayed in one of the rooms that has a private bathroom. The room was very clean and super quaint and cozy. The bed was comfortable. We also ate dinner at The Texas Gate, the restaurant that is part of the hotel. Dinner was great and their sticky toffee dessert (which we had never heard of or eaten before) is LIFE CHANGING. ️ If we ever find ourselves traveling through Cochrane again, we will definitely stop and stay here.

This place has a bit of an identity crisis. 100+ year old country bar and they have a dj playing everything but country music on a Friday night.
Still a busy and fun place but could do better.

I had the steak sandwich and its probably one of the best steaks I ever had for that price, the gravy is amazing and so flavorful, all the food we got was great and the price was very good for the quality of food, good service and good music, all in all 5/5

We were told to pick any seat when we came in and waited for about twenty minutes and nobody came by to give us a menu or any drinks. Other patrons were helped except for us. We came for the Sunday special and it’s a shame we couldn’t order because of the horrible service. Their waitress even took an order for customers that came after us. Sad
