RONA Strathmore

Murray was really helpful today. He re-keyed a deadbolt that we bought from him. Did not have to change keys. Helped us with paint, questions. Saved us money and gave good advice. He always helps us, not sure why I never reviewed this place before? Thanks Team Rona. Strathmore

They didn't have the right door that i wanted in stock. Was told that if I went to another store in Calgary maybe they'd have one. Was told to call around to diffent RONA's in Calgary as they do have larger inventory. Ok cool. When I asked the sales rep if I could have the item delivered to the strathmore store, they told me no, and I would have to go to the city to pick it up. This seems like a very poor business practice. Just my opinion

They are usually great however the last few times the staff have seemed disengaged and overwhelmed. I hope it's just an adjustment phase as they are usually quite good. The yard staff is always spot on

Decent little store, but I wish they kept proper stock. Electrical items are slim to none.

One very poor staff member. Repeatedly rude on several occasions. Tried speaking to a manager but no call back or attempt to improve the customer service.
Will try Home Harware first before going here

Tremendous help in fixing floors and faucets. My lack of knowledge was overwhelming in replacing my new home faucets, the staff here were great to listen and advise.

Worst Customer service EVER. Don't bother ever asking for help in-person or over the phone. They are not willing to assist.

You cannot beat the small town staff feel in a big city style box store. Manager down to yard staff - a definite plus for our Town

I spend a lot of time at the store I usually hit it up once a week.never have a problem finding an employee to help me if I need a hand they're always friendly and courteous the store is clean.

Rather go to this Rona rather than in the city. Staff are friendly and very helpful, and they're usually a buck or two cheaper than home depot.

It's a smaller store with less variety of items than other locations, but it gets the job done. The staff are friendly. It's relatively well organized, though some things are a bit of a chore to track down. The Covid direction arrows on the floor are a bit of a pain as the far right lane that goes the length of the store changes direction halfway, but it's a small town so most people aren't following the guidelines anyway so maybe that's moot. I like the discount board and sheet bins out front, as a hobbyist and cheapskate they come in handy, though I think charging $2 for a warped 4 foot 2x4 is a bit excessive when you can buy a good 8 footer for like $2.75, but the sheet stock is a bargain for sure.

I have never had a problem with this Rona, the staff has always been helpful and friendly, and for being a smaller store they still carry a wide selection of things I need. Also they have some great in store discounted stuff in the middle of the isles. Place is always well put together; no pallets in the middle of the rows or stuff on the floor. Well done!

Brad in flooring was a wonderful help, he took a picture of the flooring they had in stock and saved me a very long trip over there! He also described the flooring perfectly! Perfect description and amazing service, thank you so much Brad!)

I personally have not shopped enough here to compare prices with other hardware stores but I did find what I needed. I will keep you posted

Rona should not offer curbside pickup of they can't support it staff wise. Waited on hold for 15 minutes, then went in and got attitude about how short staffed they were. My thoughts, don't offer the service if you can't service it.

Visited Rona twice today. First time no one knowledgeable to assist in plumbing department. Second time I was looking for a specific part, which I looked for diligently in isle 10. Went to the counter and asked where would I could find the part. Instead of assisting me he just said it should be in isle 10. Grrr off to Canadian Tire

Fantastic shopping experience! Staff are extremely friendly and happy to help. Like most retail outlets lately I feel that staffing is a bit low but the staff that are there are extremely happy to help! The Store manager happened to be on the desk and gave me the weekend promo a day early because we are an hour out of town and didn’t want to have to drive all the way in again. I forget his name but a big thank you for the extra customer service effort!

Had everything I needed, the Strathmore location lacks compared to Calgary or other Rona stores.

On line order not ready 5 hours after ordered. Took another hour to get ready. There were 2 items. It would be a lot faster to just go to the store and pick up items myself. It wouldn't have taken me an hour.

This store is a joke. The manager said they could help me, let me go to my car to carry in a bulky item then the lady at the service desk said they couldn't help me. The manager also quickly changed his tune, even though they had the item I wanted to exchange it was an "inventory issue". So frustrating.

Some employees need an urgent training in costumer service.was standing there to ask a question and they tottaly ignore me for a few minutes, i left and they also even say nothing at that point.also very usually when asking questions they look like i'm bothering them.

Just bought lumber and a few other necessities. Awesome service and knowledgeable staff. Pleasant experience.:)

Had an issue which the store manager was able to resolve. He was great to deal with and took ownership of the situation turning it into a positive.

I like going to Rona since they have the service desk where you can go there and ask for what you need and not hunt for a salesperson.

In store pricing on sale items frequently lower than online or print ads. So you need to stop by and see what's on sale in store. Unfortunately you have to do basically everything else to complete a transaction there too. Some of the check out ladies are nice, but so far no one has been genuinely able to solve any problems. And the guys I've run into at the service desk and paint desk are rude and dismissive. Still better than driving to the city when you need something quick.

Went to store for a specific item. Couldn't find it on shelf. Spent some time looking for a customer service representative to ask. She wasn't sure so she asked another rep who was passing by. She said those items were put away in a tone that implied she really didn't want to go get them. I said apparently have 12 in stock but if you don't want to sell them have a good day and left. Guess they didn't want the sale because nobody stopped me from leaving. One star for the popcorn.

I requested a quote to install tile flooring in our kitchen. I was surprised to find out that Rona has a $55 fee for having the installer come measure the kitchen. It took 2 weeks for the installer to call then come to measure. He told me the quote should be ready in a couple days but after a week I went in to Rona to ask when the quote would be ready. Tamara, the girl that arranges the installs, was only able to verbally give me the price of the labour which was $4,000. Compared to the other quote I got that was $1,000 for labour, I was shocked. I did ask Tamara for the completed quote, which I have given up on. It's been well over a month now and I still have not received a thing. Don't waste your time or money on trying to have Rona install flooring.
