5 stars +! We have had nothing but an amazing experience at Roxy Rover since we started going there. Our dog Leo is a BIG (strong) handful when it comes to grooming and we have gone through our share of groomers (including mobile groomers) in his first few yrs that simply have not been able to handle him. Roxy Rover is the first groomer where we have actually been able to leave him and not need to be “standing by” to assist. They are all truly amazing, loving (and so patient!) and we honestly don’t know what we would have done if we hadn’t found them!

I visited Roxy River today- last minute - to get a nail trim for my little guy, and Leah the owner took him right away! No wait at all. And, she even took me back and introduced me to the Pom groomer. What service! Gotta love it! I will be booking a spa day very soon! Kelly

I moved into the area last year and had been bringing my 10 year old pup for her trimming and other services. Leah the new owner is amazing! They are gentle with her and give her treats.
My dog is never uncomfortable and gets a lot of love from everyone here.
Super great place for pet grooming and a great place for drop in service too. Much live and appreciate all you do for my pup.

The team at Roxy Rover has been taking such great care of our dog for the last couple years! They’re very caring and always open to our input on the cut. He comes out looking great every time.

This is a tough review to write. Tilly is the most docile dog and is calm around everyone. This will be the third groomer we've brought her too, but the first time she's ever had a "problem". When we went to pick her up Tilly was running around and there was a lot of blood. Leah told us that it's better than it looks and that Tilly was a very hard dog to groom. She showed us scratch marks on her arm and that her claws were sharp (even though we had just clipped her nails). Tilly had 3 cuts and 1 bruise on her ear. Leah told us to bring her to the vet if we were still worried. She originally quoted us $55 to $60 over the phone, but then still made us pay $73.50 (after the 10% discount she gave us). Which I thought was not right - why charge if you harmed our dog?

We brought her to the vet and immediately the vet told us our experience was really unusual. He said Tilly is one of the calmest dogs he's met, and that the one area around her ear is a notoriously hard part to cut, any groomer would be aware of this and be extremely careful. He also pointed out a physical bruise on her ear. Other than that, she had a gash on her other ear, and a cut on her lower back. His whole message was, don't go back there, this seems wrong.

We went back immediately and asked for a refund, which they gave. We also asked for them to cover our vet expense (which was $126). Leah held up their grooming policy in defense and at that point I was too angry to argue more.

I imagine most dogs are scared around the tools that are used, but isn't it a groomers job to understand that and work with the dog? Leah made it sound like Tilly was the problem. She never took accountability for what happened. She was apologetic, but that seems like the bare minimum.

After, I spent some time looking through reviews. There are a few cuts, gashes, employees being rude, and other negative reviews.

Between the advice of the vet (who's been doing this for 20 years and was teary eyed when we explained what happened), and the state of Tilly after it all, we won't go back. There's lots of dog groomers in the city.

Edit: I forgot to add one thing. After this all happened I looked online what could be normal for dogs getting cut at groomers since I 100% understand this is bound to happen from time to time. What I gathered is about 1 cut per groomer per year is about normal. Looking through the reviews there have been quite a few cuts, and Tilly had 4 from one visit. Again, when we picked Tilly up we were told "she must have groomer anxiety" - a common theme from other reviews. It's always blamed on the dogs anxiety.

Staff is great here, our dogs love them. We have been going here for years and before the name change and has been a top go to for our dogs. Best pricing we have found as well.

Gave this place a try since Bones, Bark & Bath closed and I'm glad I did! Friendly staff, great service and our dog looks awesome! Would've come sooner if I had heard about it.

They had my pooch for 90 minutes and had only completed his bath. 3 hrs for complete groom. $20 for small dog nail clip that took 10 mins, which equals $120/ hr.
