Royal Hotel Edmonton Airport - Trademark by Wyndham

If it were possible to give zero stars I would. Our flight was canceled by the airline due to extreme cold temperatures in Alberta Canada. I had written documentation proving the cancellation from the airline, and had taken screenshots of the flight cancellation on the airline website. Despite pleading with the front desk that we didn't simply decide "not to come", that our flight was canceled, that we wouldn't even be in the vicinity and I could prove it.they refused to issue a refund for the room. Not only that, I was informed if I did not agree to cancel my room and forfeit all the money I had already paid, there would be a no-show charge added. I spoke with three different people about this matter, one of them was the manager. Zero accountability on the part of Royal Hotel.

Fellow travellers, do not stay here. There are so many other good choices of hotels to stay with. This hotel doesn't care about you. They displayed no compassion nor good customer service.

My girlfriend and i stayed here for 1 night for a staycation. Enjoyed every minute of it, good-sized rooms, and vary clean.

The staff at this hotel were so kind and helpful- that alone made my stay worth it.

Coming for a concert and booking a hotel last minute, I searched through dozens and dozens for one that was pet friendly and was coming up with absolutely nothing. I was beginning to panic, thinking we'd have to camp in my car, until I called this hotel.

The lady immediately assured me that they had rooms available and without asking about my dog's breed or size, said that they had a room for us and would even put us up in one that was closest to the dog run outside.

I was willing to pay whatever I had to at that point, just being grateful to have found a hotel with availability at all, but it ended up being surprisingly cheap (in my opinion)!

When I locked myself out of my room within the first 10 minutes of being there, they gave me two more cards with a smile on their face.

I decided I needed to rest another day before making the drive home and when they regrettably had to tell me that they had no availability to extend my stay by another night, they immediately referred me to their partner hotel just a couple hundred metres down the road.

The room was clean (actually had vinyl plank/hardwood flooring which was a cool change from the usual carpet), the bed was comfortable, and there were no outside noises disturbing us.

With how affordable, comfortable, and conveniently located this hotel is (next to the highway and right across from Costco Gas Bar), I will definitely be calling here first the next time I need a hotel!

Visited the Flight Deck restaurant and waited for 25 minutes before being served. We left and came back due to lack of options in the area.

Uber Eats stops at 8: 30pm in this area.

The steak was sub par and the hand cut fries were dried out and over cooked. When we returned them we received slightly less overcooked fries. The server did say she could offer a salad but by this time we had wasted so much time waiting to be served and then waiting for her to ask if everything was okay-we declined the offer and we were charged fully for the meal.

There is no bottled water offered here. You have to use a vending machine if you want water.

Not all the rooms have a microwave. Only a select few and the front staff advise “it’s because we don’t have enough for every room because so many are broken”.

The hotel is dated. Empty. Depressing. The breakfast menu is okay. But the options are quite expensive.

The shuttle service to the hotel is deplorable. They tell you “he is on the way” and it takes 30-45 minutes. I stood in freezing rain waiting for him to arrive. Reason is that their shuttle services 10 hotels. The hotel is 5 minutes away.
Staff aren’t helpful with getting an ETA on the shuttle. So standing in the rain is the only option.

Choose another hotel. There are many in the area.

The staff is always courteous and very helpful.
The rooms are always clean and well kept. Also the food at the restaurant is excellent. I rarely leave the hotel for any other meals.

Hotel by the airport.

Caters to shift/rotation workers (like all hotels near airport). The hotel is surrounded by other shift worker hotels and parking/industrial lots and divided highways. Plan on having a car or Uber if you want to reach town or see the sights. You will be unable to walk outside the hotel complexes.

Clean and quiet. Staff are nice. There is an on call shuttle bus to the airport.

The rooms are comfy and clean. Nice pillows. Free WiFi.

The restaurant and lounge is mediocre in terms of food and service but the ambiance is nice. The nearby restaurants outside the hotel are also mediocre. Which is a shame since most shift workers would like a decent meal. Anyways plan on getting an Uber for decent food.

There is a Tim Hortons that is a 5-10 minute walk away.

Since the hotel is near the airport, getting an Uber or taxi is easy.

This location is newer and nicer than others. We got a suite upgrade and enjoyed the extra space. The jet tub in the bathroom was clean and relaxing. No microwave in the room, but there is a small fridge for drinks. The hardwood laminate floors are a nice touch as carpet can be less than ideal. I would definitely stay here again. Don't forget to tip your housekeeping staff.

Attended a meeting here. No signage at entrance indicating which meeting room we were in. Food and service was only average. Convenient location in proximity to the airport. Ample parking.
