When did some grocery shopping and Safeway not busy at all? Wheelchair accessible. The employees were great. Very understanding. I don't know Safeway no frills. All those places seem to do really well. I seem to hit the right ones
Shorter woman with long black hair and glasses working the deli was extremely rude. I was asking what veggies were on the veggie deluxe and she looked at me like i am an idiot and just said "veggies. " I let her know that I was just wondering what veggies are on it because it is for my fiance who is pregnant and she would like to know before hand, she then told me "its veggies, i dont know what else to tell you" and started walking away.
Ever since the renovations, the check out is unbearably slow. It makes me feel like they’re purposely making it the worst experience to force you to use the self checkout. It took me longer to wait for my order to be processed than it did for me to do my shop. Only go if you have no other plans for the day
The cashier wasn't friendly or nice In Fact she didn't even acknowledge me as she scanned my items.the only redeemable thing about this place was the young man at the deli and the supervisor who helped him. But not a big fan of how they treat people.
Almost good enough but not quite there.i couldn’t find the deli for 45 minutes and no one offered to help me after i began to cry in the cat food isle.i paid $25.99 for a loaf of ‘premium’ bread.what is this? Gas? In British columbia? !?
i did feel objectifyed by an all to curious service dog who I was informed was named bentley.he sniffed my behind then tried to lick it!? !? !? !? I mean maybe that’s the service he provides? But gross!
I did find a very attractive gentleman by the name of Mike.only redeeming quality.
How is this store still open to the public, when there is a really pervasive chemical smell at the front of the store? Think using paint spray cans in an unventilated, enclosed space. Customers were walking around with their faces covered. Deli staff were asking to go out for some fresh air. The masked checkout staff were starting to cough and cough and cough. Customers were complaining to one another of headaches and light-headedness. Myself included. I have left with a banging headache and using my asthma inhaler. Environmental Health need to come and check you out! The fruit and veg will all be contaminated. As will the deli meats and such. It's just pure greed! Completely unacceptable!
Safeway pricing is getting out of control. The same products at Walmart are much cheaper. I know all the prices are up right now but theirs is crazy. For 2 weeks no one answered the pharmacy phone. There's definitely not enough self checkouts anymore.
3 open checkouts on a Friday afternoon seems like a poor use of resources. Self checkout line was 12 people deep. This mismanagement of staff seems to be getting worse. There are never enough cashiers or self checkout lanes.
Seems to be under renovation but the store was clean and I had good customer service and what I needed. Asked a gentleman that was at the bakery if they had coleslaw, his answer was not here but maybe somewhere in the store.the lady at the self check if she knows you great if she doesn’t your your out of luck.
I understand the place is undergoing renovations, but it is always busy and there are never enough tellers! Why is that? The line-ups are huge too! There are definitely better places to get groceries in town.
Really good pharmacy with knowledgeable and helpful staff. The store as whole is pretty clean and stocked most of the time. As compared to the other grocery stores in town, this one tends to manage their a lineups a bit better.
I was very pleased with my visit to Mindys. She did a fantastic job on my hair and so happy I found a hairdresser that still uses the cap to highlight my hair. I am new to Cochrane and she will be my hairdresser as long as I live here.
Safeway is my favorite grocery store in town. Always clean and well stocked! I have also had some exceptional interactions with staff. They've been so friendly and have gone out of their way to help me when needed. I will continue to shop here!
Felt good not to have to wear a face mask if I chose not too (not that there wasn't people wearing any or people making fun of them or them getting on our case, all respectfull).
Or to follow the little funny arrows on the floor.
You know which ones. When you walked down the isle and suddenly found yourself in a Wild West like face-off with somebody coming towards you in the opposite direction.
The Safeway in Cochrane is my favourite grocery store in Cochrane by far. My family finds the produce, meats, and bakery selection to always be fresh and the dry goods to be always have good inventory. My only comment is that I find the prices to be high but because the quality it's not so much of an issue.
I forgot how much I love Safeway! Best produce I've seen in ages. Mama's going to have the best guacamole in town tonight! And I'm eating the whole bowl myself. Don't be jealous, just go to Safeway and get some ingredients! Terry, my cashier, was an absolute gem and my favourite part about him is that he was wearing a covid mask with a clear part that made me (a hearing impaired individual) able to read his mouth when he spoke. That made my day!
The store is clean and was not crowded when I was there. There is a staff member at the door, sanitizing carts, and a hand sanitizing station as you come in and exit. Aisle direction is well-marked. I would prefer if they automatically sanitized the conveyor belts and the payment keypads at the checkouts between every customer. Cashiers will do it if you ask.
Shopped with my 2 years old and wife a couple of weekends ago. Was helped by a couple of employees who were very friendly. I didn't get the name of the person working at the Meat dept but he was super nice and went beyond to give us the best service. He gave us the freshest meat cuts and also made a fresh batch or marinade for my family.
They are very organized during COVID restrictions. They make my shopping experience comfortable and are very helpful. I have only seen a line up to enter the store once and the Manager strategically set out a process in which the line went extremely fast and we were not waiting out in the cold! I was very impressed! The store has good quality organic foods at a good prices. The shelves are well stocked.
I've trusted Safeway for a long time to not only have fresh, quality products, but to be the cleanest store in any town. I'm willing to pay more for this. Today at 6 p.m. Produce worker picked up a head of lettuce that had rolled across the floor, and put it right back on the pile. Here we are drowning ourselves in disinfectant and wearing masks, and what's the point when the germs from everyone's shoes are now on the pile of lettuce-a violation of health regs and common decency even before the pandemic? So gross, I couldn't believe it.
Nice clean store. Well laid out. Friendly, helpful staff for the most part. Usually well stocked. Best bread in town. Floral department, Starbucks kiosk, and BMO bank machine conveniences. Free carts and Clorox wipes available for use at front doors years before Covid sanitation craze.
This place used to be Safeway in every sense of the word or brand but not so much any more. Feels more like Superstore or another low price grocer but not necessarily with the low prices. Limited brands on many items which are over-represented by corporate brands which aren't that great. If you were a "Safeway shopper" because there were things about Safeway that attracted you, you may be disappointed shopping here, now that Sobeys owns what used to be Safeway.
