Safeway Division Avenue

Great staff, except for one lady but I won't say who. Most will know who I'm talking about. Prices are far too high. I treat it as a convenience store. Have never bought enough to use a shopping cart.

I usually love coming into this location, it is one of my favourite spots to get groceries. But, unfortunately after today- I won’t be back. It’s disgusting they allowed to have a couple come in carrying their chihuahua.not a service dog. A pet. Allowing it to sniff and lick food as it was then placed back on the shelf. I spoken to a cashier about the matter, and it was said, they frequent this location, as well as another few customers that frequent with their cats, birds, and another dog. It is illegal to have animals in any grocery establishment, unless it is a certified service dog.

My past couple experiences have been a little far fetched from a decent experience. The store itself is fine but of course the prices, and the staffing have been what’s keeping me from giving it a 4-5 star rating. This last experience I had a lady staff member help me with my groceries, and of course she was more of less not in the greater mood to deal with people. It wouldn’t bother me if it was the one time, but multiple times have I had the same issue and it hasn’t been fixed. I love Safeway, just not this one unfortunately.

This is a review of a very clean, organized, and fresh place that I visited recently. The staff are amazing, especially one young man who works there. He is very friendly and helpful, and he knows how to connect with people of all walks of life. He delivers the best service and makes sure that every customer is satisfied. He is 110 per cent dedicated to his job and his customers. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great experience.

I like the deli. Good sandwiches. Now they have a large selection of hot and ready food too. The deli ladies are awesome. There's one cashier that always makes my day! His name is KJ, do your best to see him!

I only live 4 blocks from there, the only complaint is as everyone else, prices keep going up

They have these 500 ml Compliments bottles of water that are like $0.75, and I normally get one of these at lunch. I checked my receipt later on, and it was scanned as $2.79. That's crazy! Since that's about the price of a larger bottle of Evian water. Anyway, I let them know about it and they didn't seem to care or bother to do anything about it. Some of the other staff told me that that's the case price. So I guess I paid for a case and got one.

Good store, friendly staff. Although I have to say that management needs to look at how they're employees represent themsleves, it is a public place afterall. The vast majority are great representatives of the brand (99%), but it only takes one to give someone a bad taste of the establishment.

The store itself is well maintained, clean, and have some very friendly staff for sure. They also have great selections from produce, shelves in general and a great deli and bakery for sure, however it is definitely one of the more expensive grocery stores here. If your low income then you'll most certainly have a hard time affording what you need but they do usually have some great deals you can take advantage of daily

Great place close too where I live. And the people that work there are Very helpful and polite.

Pretty nice store, good selection and helpful staff. Then I got to the checkout - no plastic bags. I forgot my reusable because I was unsure if they were allowed due to Covid concerns, so I had to use an awkward paper bag and almost dropped my groceries. I could also have paid $5+ for a new reusable but it's a waste. Getting rid of plastic bags is a very dumb decision, removing something recyclable and chopping down trees.

Always great service. Recently renovated. Manager is friendly and takes time to help customers.

Didn't even have golden Italian dressing on their shelves. None of their self-serve check outs were working. No amount of renovations will make this a good store. I'll go back to sav-on foods.

Once again, awesome store with the new renos. Special shout out to Cora in the deli. She remembers you and even your order! Give her a raise!

Purchased a Dagwood sandwich. It had NO TOMATOES OR ONIONS OR PEPPERS on it.
Meat and cheese only disappointed!

Mostly good experiences at this location but I feel the deli and butcher staff are very lazy. I hate when I pay extra for the convenience of pre-cut or ready to cook foods and still have to do prep when I get home. Today I bought pre-cut stir-fry chicken got home and the breast was only cut into five pieces and some of them weren't even cut all the way through so I ended up having to cut it up myself anyway. This is the third time I've had a similar experience at this location, Superstore does a much better job for a better price.

Prices are a bit higher than other places, but they don’t charge you for bags which is a bonus.

Great grocery store. I love the size, I can pop in and out in a couple minutes and the cashier's are always a pleasure to interact with. I really appreciate having this store nearby! It seems like all the grocery stores are located in the same area in the south so it is nice this one is in a residential area.

Went to pick up Dinner and found a self tapping screw in my chick pea and mango salad! Cant believe it! How does this happen! Just as a side note it's been over a year and they never even so much as called back to acknowledge it even happened

Paid for something with a 10 dollar bill, cashier gave back a 5 dollar bill with a tear so i cant use it.

Lost 5 bucks thanks to this Safeway.

I love this safeway, I live in the neighborhood and it is fabulous to have a great store with a wonderful bakery we love their fresh baked goods. The staff are always kind and helpful, it's a really nice store and the closest starbucks.

Bright, warm, inviting grocery store. Great produce section. Better service, as it is a higher-end grocery store. I also really like the fact that there is a Starbucks located inside this grocery store. The selection of beef here is fantastic as they sell Sterling Silver, AAA beef here. I took a lot of photos of the store, it is very clean, friendly, and I even got a chance to speak with the manager. All in all a great place to visit. Friendly staff.

Safeway on Division Avenue in Medicine Hat is a clean, well stocked and organized grocery and pharmacy store to shop. The layout is user friendly and once you've frequented the store you'll become familiar with where items are. They are not likely to rearrange shelving or present stock still in the delivery boxes. If you are willing to pay a few cents more for this feature, then this store is for you.

Amazing service all around. Needed a cart and someone brought me one. No basil so someone else went to the bback to get me some. Had my groceries brought to my car. Incredibly warm and friendly service along with great products.

Great staff. High prices. My biggest complaint is there garbage. Don't walk by it on a hot day when the winds right, the stench will almost drop you to your knees. Disgusting to say the least.

Everyone's pickey about their grocery stores but I've always prefered this safeway over the one attached to the mall. The sandwiches are delicious from the Cafè and the store always has the random grochery staples I can't seem to find at my other grochery stores. Plus the bakery here is probably my favourite next to save on foods.

Clean store, quick checkouts and good selection. Small store, can be difficult to maneuver with a cart!

The girls in the Starbucks kiosk don't make the drinks properly.
Also Safeway employee didn't seem to know where to find things in the store.

I was dissapointed.usually this time of year all floral areas in stores have trinkets for Graduation and Graduation balloons. All your store had was cards.

Its slightly above average. With good but not great selection. I liked the Safeway select brands but after they merged with Sobeys they replaced them with compliments. Which imo aren't as good.

Good foods, low price, good wings, salad, cookies, bread, icecream, flowers, milk and i could get all that with 20$ great deals, low price, no 5 stars because the floors are always dirty and the people at the counters are deaf

Picked up some meat, they have good meat at Safeway, always get good deals at Safeway. Found a plant for my daughter there, perfect service in in that department!
