We went down to Lethbridge for a funeral today. I went to this Safeway florist and ordered a bouquet and she had only 3-4 hours to do it up and deliver it to the funeral home. If she missed the delivery truck she offered to personally deliver across the street. Forget her name but Thank you so much.
Beautifully renovated store. Fun to shop In with unique products.different cheeses, flowers/plants, dairy, many frozen items and a wonderful bakery. KAYLEIGH was helpful and friendly, which we really appreciated. Thank you KAYLEIGH!
We were just back in this store and were amazed how clean and beautiful it is and everything is layed out so neatly. They have more of a variety and things are fresher.
Specifically rating the bakery at this location. I ordered a personalized cake for my son’s birthday and on our way out to the car it blew off the cart and landed upside down, ruining the picture on top. I took it back in hoping they could maybe salvage it and fix it up a bit, but Sheri in the bakery scraped the icing off and redid the whole thing right then. In 15 minutes it looked as perfect as it had before our mishap. Sheri was beyond kind and understanding. Just wonderful customer service!
It's Safeway, it had groceries and met my expectations of a Canadian grocery store. It was clean and staff were polite and looked busy but not too busy to point me in the right direction.
Wonderful experience. The lady at the deli is awesome! Made me leave with a laugh and a smile from my shopping trip. The store was clean organized and the staff there are friendly and vibrant! Good atmosphere!
Pretty bad hot food. I have bought fried chicken and wedges at Safeway for half the price, they didn't label any of the prices for the food, as it turns out it was $24/kg. I ended up paying $17 for two pieces of chicken and some wedges.
The food was average, greasy as all fried chicken is but even the fast food restaurants nearby include a drink for marginally less.
The next problem was that after, I ate in my car since there are no chairs in the store to sit down and eat. Third I stepped out of my car to look for a garbage can and there were none, I walked all the way to the main door and maybe due to construction there were no garbage cans.
So, I drove to the nearby fast food restaurant anyways to dispose of the Safeway garbage.
Overall, I am definitely never going to buy hot food from this place again.
This Store is currently Under Renovation but what has Been Completed is Totally Beautiful. They have added a Hot Foods Counter (Buffet Style). Delicious! Store is Bright and Airy. Aisles are Clean and Food Items are Easily Displayed. My Favorite is the Produce and Vegetable Areas! Staff is Friendly and Welcoming. A Great Addition to South Lethbridge Will Definitely Be Returning to Shop at Fairway Plaza South Safeway Lethbridge. Shirley Bulva
Expensive and always long lineups! You can catch great sales on meat so I stop by often to check it out! But I don't buy much from here unless the foods already in the oven and I forgot something!
Went in to bakery for a special order banana cream pie. The service was fast and friendly. The pie was amazing! It's as close to a old-fashioned banana cream pie as you can get.lol unfortunately it didn't make it to the picture part
My go to grocery store for most things. Selections are fairly good. Prices are average. Establishment is clean and staff are friendly and helpful. If I was to suggest any improvements I would recommend starting with the parking lot as it's terrible to push a cart on.
Went to buy a nice hoagie bun for supper. Very fussy about the buns I buy. These were so soft it was hard to cut them. Fresh baked. So delicious. Had one for breakfast with peanut butter. Yum
Very disappointed in the prices! Just purchased a condiment there and the price was marked up by $3.00. Went to Superstore here in Lethbridge and couldn’t believe the difference in price. They were both listed at regular price as well. This has happened several times at Safeway. Will be returning it. I can understand a variance in pricing but don’t approve of such an increase.
Everything i needed i found, beautiful floral dept, bakery was awesome, social distancing in effect, hand sanitizer available, sanitized carts in entrance, they bag your groceries here, washrooms available, very well stocked, all you'd expect at your local Safeway
It's quite tidy inside, there's a notable selection of cruelty free products and items produced in Canada. The pharmacy is usually very busy, once spent over 50 minutes waiting for a prescription, when I was told 25, the lady was pretty crabby but I assume it was just because they were stressed. I often find nearly rotten onions, sad cauliflower and bruised fruit. The only other issue is the que, since the store traffic is now laid out with directional arrows, the ends where the aisles are close to the tills are virtually impassable. Quite often other patrons couldn't be bothered to scootch, so you have to go down the wrong way lol.
Its clean and bright and the produce is good here. Items are difficult to locate in the isles and the fresh meat (specifically chicken) is mostly grey in color. Not appealing at all so I dont care to buy fresh meat here.
Good selection and pretty reasonable prices for a more upmarket grocery store compared to Walmart or Superstore. Bakery, produce, and Meat dept are always fresh and kept well. Highly recommend this Safeway.
They have everything you need. A great bakery! All groceries are expensive at Safeway.and long lines at the tills. Went to self checkout. I hate self checkouts.
Linda in the bakery was amazing, I got a cake for my son and right away she asked me if they could write something on the cake for me. The other lady which I didn't get her name was prompted to get the writing done. Thank you
Never get any friendly smile or a need to say hello to you. We're not racist but, seems like lots of people in that store are. They always say hello to other people who seems to be more like them and they make us feel we're different and not appreciated. Besides, never get helped at the Western Union money transfer stating that they are busy with customers. Are WE NOT? Always get sent to another place for Western Union. They should close it then. Products and price are good though cause they can't judge us by our colors.
Very clean and very good selection and quality of meat and produce. Other departments are lacking selection. Prices are fair and the staff are helpful and efficient.
Produce is always fresh, and on Sundays they have a sensory friendly time from 6-8pm that the lights are dimmed, music is off, and announcements on the loud speaker at kept to an absolute minimum.
Great staff. I like the delli but there have been some changes that are not good. The onion rings are not good, changed make, chicken flings good but previous kind were better. The sandwiches are always great, marble rye bread awesome.
The store is bright, and usually tidy. When they have sales, their prices can be OK, but I generally find them a little on the expensive side (though not always). Plenty of free parking is available, the shopping carts are also free, AND the Safeway liquor store is right across the street. ;-)
Always a good experience. Unfortunately I had to sort through a few moldy strawberry cases to find some good ones. But they were a great sale at least!
On our way to Alaska we stopped here to refuel and the machine didn't like Our credit card. A gentleman behind us pulled out a $50 and said welcome to Calgary where we would be spending the night. Thank you stranger for your generosity. We will pay it forward.
This Safeway in convenient for the location of the household but being Indigenous I always feel judged and the people at the self checkout make it a point to not say goodbye, this is why I prefer to use the self check out to keep away from the negative energy. Way to make your Indigenous customers feel like they don't matter.
Really clean store, I do most of my grocery shopping here. Prices can be a little more expensive but they also have great sales and their produce is always fresh.
I have seen that converting to a Sobeys has had an impact on product quality, in some areas. But the customer service noticeably has changed since. Nonetheless we continue to shop there.
Good parking clean store. Could use more staff on tills at peak times. Plus they used to have security gaurds that thought they were above the law. The would question you and demand to see a recipt.
