As someone who has recently discovered a horribly limiting allergy to gluten, I was beyond relieved when I came across their GF Isle. My visit to Safeway Heritage was both enjoyable and relaxing as they have a surprising selection of gluten free products at much better prices than many other stores in the city. Clean organized and well stocked, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Safeway Heritage is a warm and inviting shopping experience.
I like the food options here, and the grocery clerks are very personable to deal with. It is also always nice to go back into our old neighborhood to get groceries and go to get our vehicle fuel at the gas bar. Our doctor is also in this area.
Bigger store than the one inside Melbourne Mall in Millwoods. There's a gas station close to the store so I could actually use the gas coupon this time. Enjoy the baked goods.
I guess I shopped here for the last time. Today I was informed that on may 5th they are getting rid of plastic bags for 10 cent per bag paper bags. Just out of curiosity didn’t Safeway get rid of paper bags in favour of the eco friendly long lasting plastic bags. Since save on food and Wally World only charge 5cents a bag, that will be my new place.
Worst Safeway in the city. Looking for a product I couldn't find. Went to customer service and I guess the employee thought I just wanted to stand around looking at them as they looked at me several times but just kept on shuffling boxes around. Thankful there's new competition next door with better staff.
Plenty of parking. One of the few grocery stores that still has an 18.9L water jug refill station. They sometimes run out of blue lids, but always have more on order. Still, it's a good idea to buy spare lids to keep in your vehicle trunk just in case you arrive when they are out of stock
One great thing about where I live is a Safeway close by. They don't charge for bags, they don't make me put a loonie in to use the cart. Prices are pretty close to other grocery stores.
Not going to lie a little ticked off that I can come to the store park in the parking lot put my shopping cart away and come back to a ticket on my windshield. Even contacting the parking enforcement with my receipt from me shopping at the store yesterday doesn't remove my ticket for some reason. What a gong Show
Most of the cashiers appear to be demotivated and demoralized. It's a shame that the Heritage Sobeys is/was closed and customers steered here. Hope the Sobeys employees and management follows them across the street.
Staff isn't bad, store is generally clean and tidy. The place is never busy and parking is always available. I shop here regularly and don't mind continuing to do so:)
I love this location and have gone here for years. Unfortunately lately things have been falling apart. Incorrect labels on meat (not sale price, mid week of sale) and unable to correct price at till, less than fresh produce. Sorry Safeway, please be better again.
I feel safe going here. The baskets are sanitized and they have sanitizer available. Otherwise - there's always deals at Safeway for Airmiles, BOGO, discounted prices. I shop Safeway for life!
Walked in, asked for help searching for an item, asked an employee, she didnt know, 10 minutes goes by and finally have an answer, "if we have it its probably in isle 2", obviously i cant type their attitudes but all i got was employees with attitudes and lack of any knowledge of where anything is, just a snotty "whatever" attitude, if i wanted to deal with attitude I'd got to a holding facility.
It was impossible to find the section that we needed, the employee couldn't help us because he did not know where the product was. The value of all the products were higher than the ones in Sobeys meanwhile the quality was exactly the same!
This is typically a fine grocery store but recently I was waiting in line to pay and the cashier from the adjacent till walked through our line to get to her spot, brushing up against me. She then hugged the other cashier to say "hello" and was not wearing a mask or keeping any sort of distance from anyone. I would not typically complain, but given the cashiers touch our food when scanning items, some respect for the Covid recommendations would have been great.
The staff in Deli department didn't put on the mask and the store manager said that it's not necessary. They never take ANY high alert of NCOVID19. Really disappointed of their attitude!
We went for grocery today and one staff in deli dept (Filipino) she approached customers so rude. I think they need a training for customer service. Very disappointing!
Go here if you want to park a mile away from the doors and get some excercise in because 100 shopping carts are occupying all the stalls because no one was hired to take care of them.
It's a Safeway like any other, no complaints about the management or maintenance of this location so it gets 5 stars. As a stand alone with lots of parking, it's easy to get to (careful for the large speed bumps though)
To my surprise, terrible service at the floral department. Waited 15 minutes to not be acknowledged at all. The lady was on the phone the whole time talking about personal matters, before walking off and leaving us just standing there at the counter. Ended up paying at the general check-out lanes, but the flowers were unwrapped. Very disappointed.
I am so glad Sobeys kept this as Safeway and most of the staff as well. It is liking sgopping in a community. I hope they continue to keep grocery the blessing it is meant to be.
Went to get flowers. No one was at the flower booth so I paid for them and customer service called for the florist. I waited at least 10 mins and had to get going so I used the scissors at the booth to try to arrange my bouquet and the florist came back and I got in trouble for using the craft scissors. I’m a 30 year old woman. Apparently the woman could lose her job if I cut myself with the craft scissors.what had this world come to? !
Nicely kept store, self checkout people are always trying to checkout for you for some reason. I went to self checkout because I didn't want help. Otherwise good.
This is close to one of my frequent stops. So I don't usually do a major shop here. The store is great, it's just too far from home for regular shopping. Great for me to pick up a few items in a hurry.
Standard Safeway with everything you could need but for some reason every time I go through the till ALL my stuff is double bagged. Just today the cashier used ten plastic bags for my order when all my items probably would have fit in three. Makes no sense and so wasteful.
