In the current times any trip to the grocery store is an eye opening experience. The Jusinflation is going to be the end of civilization as we know it.
Usually great service but decided to go though self checkout and the lady who was working the section was completely inappropriate and seemed like she was trying to argue with me and my husband. From now on will make sure she isn't working if I go back. Very disappointed with her attitude and rudeness. Just her not the rest of the staff.
In placing a custom order with the deli department, it is apparent more training is required with their staff. There is definitely misunderstanding in how their pricing works amongst staff. Though management did honor the initial quote we were giving for an order of $176 at time of pick up they try to charge over $300. If their staff had been properly trained and giving accurate pricing, we would have made adjustments to our order.
The food was awesome! We were very pleased with our order and the management's understanding.
I was in the store on September 13rd at approximately 18: 30 in the self checkout line with my immune compromised partner. We choose Safeway over places like Walmart because we feel they’ve done a commendable job in the past with following the health standards set out by the government.
There was a female staff member in line behind us with her mask down, talking to an entirely maskless customer and joking about how he’s a freedom fighter. If the staff are not going to enforce provincial mandates, I expect them to at least follow them while in uniform in the store. I didn’t find their dialogue funny or amusing. I won’t be returning to this store, if I have to wear a mask in your store everybody else should too.
You can always rely on happy staff, perfect produce, new impulse items and a sensational meat department. A mini trip in on the Thanksgiving weekend meant that our special meal was dotted with heavenly treats!
Horrible! The middle aged cashier needs to retire. She clearly is miserable. My tap on my card doesn’t work and it declined. She yelled that is was declined so loud everyone looked over at me. Excuse me, I make more money then you do! So don’t try to embarrass me by causing a scene. Will be shopping at co-op from now on.
I have always loved Safeway and look for one where ever I move to. When looking in Leduc I found this store and decided to get groceries. Have to admit. I’ve never been bossed around and bullied by the cashiers before. Don’t think it’s worth shopping there if that’s the way they will be.
Self checkout is supposed to be open until 9pm! Please keep self checkout open until then! It's frustrating to go there in the evening and always see it closed.
Fresh produce, meat and bakery areas are always well stocked. Friendly, helpful staff. Prices can be on the high side, but sale prices are usually quite good.
Abundance of all the sale items. Friendly checkout staff. Lots of buggies available. (They weren't all scattered in the parking lot) Aisles were uncluttered. Easy to find what I was looking for.
I have no problems with the store, it's a Safeway. A bit inconsistent with things like pre-made salads but they have so much it doesn't matter. I do have to say though there's one woman at the "to go" counter that seems a bit miserable with her job. Not the friendliest. Also, their Broccoli and Cheese soup is always out SO early, I went yesterday just after 1230 and it was out. I don't understand why they don't just make more? I know "go earlier" well sadly not everyone has that option. Since they didn't have the soup I decided I would get some chicken and their yummy mac and cheese to go. I stood at the to go window and watched a worker walk by and keep walking, and watched a group of roughly 5 of them chatting by where they make the sandwiches. I waited, and waited, they chatted and chatted. I decided if they don't care its my lunch time I'll move on to a different place to eat. I walked by them and still nothing so I threw out a "don't worry ladies no need to help me anymore" as I walked by, because that in my opinion is a great way to make sure someone doesn't go back.
Updates I just took away a star because I went in at 1150 to make sure I got some soup and they were already out the girl said they had no more cheese and broccoli and only had a loaded baked potato. I'm not sure if it's the staff or the management that keeps failing on this but I won't be back.
It's a Safeway.not much to say on that front. They carry all your basic grocery items (AND even a few specialty items like lactose free cheeses and such), but I have always had 5 star customer experiences there! The employees I have interacted with are all very engaging, friendly and courteous. My cashier was Stacie (she is often the cashier I interact with) always very pleasant and helpful with my transaction/check out.
The main lady was very dismisive. God bless her, she thinks she owns safeway. The staff are fearful of her. I could see it in there eyes so i just dropped the issue. No point in anybody loosing there job.
Safeway is union and as such its employees are treated Far better than Walmart employees. That being said, their prices are higher than Walmart for a good reason.
I was passing through Leduc, headed home for the holidays, and decided to pick up some flowers. I wasn’t expecting such amazing service! Just wanted to send a thank you to the lady who helped me get the flowers ready for a couple of hours ride to home.
This store has the best staff. The staff have been there for quite a long time. They do their jobs well. Very friendly. The store is clean and not cluttered.
The fruit and vegetables are hit and miss but mainly miss when it comes to freshness and it smells like an Alabama outhouse roasting in plus 40 weather.
