Safeway Market Mall Calgary

The store can get busy with mall traffic but the location is so convenient.
I have always found what I am looking for. The staff is very nice.

Don't shop here if you're indigenous! I was just followed around the store by 2 employees. I couldn't get their names, but one was an older yt gentleman, and the other was an east Indian dude. Just went in to buy a few things, and I walked out feeling uneasy and my personal space violated. STOP STEREOTYPING!

Recently renovated. Smaller Safeway store, but still has a good range of product offerings. Love their bakery food

It's my favorite store. Huge selection of food, clean, very helpful personnel. I always find there something new and tasty for my family.

As the mall changes the parking is getting more risky. No self service tills yet and usually line ups after 9 pm are ridiculous. Pharmacy team is very helpful, deli tho can be hit or miss. Tellers often forget they are there for customers, not just to communicate between eachother. Aug 23 2022.all new makeover. Looks more modern, self service tills are in, still is what it is.

BEST STARBUCKS EVER! I work in the mall and always get my coffee at this Starbucks location. Service is always amazing, and I don’t know all their names but Afia, yenny & dexter always make me the best drinks and the whole staff is just so kind and accommodating! Love these guys so much!

Over priced, bakery bread and rolls hard after a day, Freeze meats before they hot the shelf and sometimes still frozen especially sausages what if I want to freeze them should not freeze defrost refreeze any meat so you take that option away. Never enough registers open and try to get you to use self service so they can have less staff. Fresh produce does not last.

Horrible.despite mask bylaws, few people are actually wearing their masks. A WOMAN WORKING IN THE BAKERY HANDLING BREAD DID NOT HAVE A MASK OR GLOVES.

The reopening is great, the new Starbucks especially.
Safia is also incredible. She made most of my drinks and rang me through, very patient and does everything properly.
There was also a guy that made the other two drinks, unfortunately I couldn't grab his name but he was great as well.
Everyone was super polite, and did their jobs well

Today my sister and i experience a very racist disrespectful cashier.she was working at the express 8 aisle and was treating the white customer in front of us very courteously.when she made eye contact with my dark skinned sister she gave us a very rude and distasteful look.i hope that no one has to ever be helped by her again and does not ever treat a person of colour again in that manner.your company is reflected by your employees and your company is not a very good one.

Many items remain out of stocks
2. Renovation is going on for long time
3. Can go there if you are around.
North Hill Safeway is better than this.

Awful. They are always out of stock with items and that was before covid. Rude staff who look like they worked their for a long time and are full of attitude. Lots of staff who work in the grocery section run away when they notice you need help. You have to literally chase them down to get an answer. Also been lied to on more than one occasion about products.

Every time I get the chicken salad from their deli section, there's always cartilage in it. I kept thinking that it was probably just a fluke, but three times in a row isn't a coincidence. NEVER eating from their deli again. Careless and sloppy.

Straight out lied to my face. Saying that I could return medication with a receipt as I just got off the phone with the 1800 customer service and them saying I could return anywhere as long as I has reciept.i guess
Color or wasn't rich looking enough to make the return as I returned it at a different safe ways np

Ethan was super friendly gave excellent service and the drink was 10/10. Would definitely come here again

Not impressed. Cashier not friendly but manager/supervisor did not look pleasant either. Will not be going back

With it being downtown very pricey staff was great though they have some really nice stuff there to like food Deli

Why doesn't this Safeway have a self checkout? It would make it so much faster. Especially in the afternoons and weekends.

Well its expensive as compared to superstore. Also the meat section lacks in halal meat and was a big disappointment when I discovered there is no halal meat available. They should definitely consider working on it.

This one is attached to Market Mall. Parking is always busy. If you don't mind that, then it's also convenient if you need something from the Mall too.

Weird Safeway. Not a great selection and very confusingly laid out. Wanted to go back through the mall after I paid but ended up being shuttled out the doors and having to walk allllllll the way around the mall to my car.

Would completely recommend all staff are very friendly and are always using 110% of their efforts to help my shopping excursions go smoothly

It was ok but the cashier was rude on how I was paying I had my card out so it was obvious on what I will be paying with I will not be coming to this location again

This Safeway got the best people to work with. Loved working in floral and collaborating with HSE, cashing & training.

Best store ever! Always my go-to shop to go to. One of the clerks there Nicole is the best, always super nice and friendly, and super helpful to everyone around her. She makes the atmosphere very inviting and friendly! Will always be coming back!

Nice store with lots of staff a few things stuck out to me that was there huge selection of gift cards more of a selection than any other Safeway that I've seen also their bakery at all kinds of yummy stuff staff was friendly

Its awesome everything is on sale go there and try it you won't be disappointed and wash hands STAY SAFE

If you enjoy spending $8 on a bag of avocados, only to get home to find out the insides have some kind of black fungal infection, this may be the store for you! This has happened more than once here. Questionable / unsafe food.

The layout is a bit confusing and all I needed was a big of milk and it was way in the back hiding behind a room. They do have a Starbucks though so can't fault them too many stars. Coffee is life.

It's convenient for It's open @ 7am if you're looking for groceries at that time of the morning. Fresh coffee and breakfast is available too.

Hands down, the worst Safeway I have ever stepped foot in.consistently. I’ve never been through the tills in less than 20 mins.

I usually shop the the crowfoot location since it's near my house but I stopped here becuase I was in the mall. In my opinion this store is not set properly to encourage social distancing. The manager should look at other locations and copy their set up. It actually makes it a lot easier to check out.

Purchased a Tim Hortons double double bottled coffee on April 1, turns out it was 3 months expired and I only found that out after I had taken a sip of it. EXPIRED PRODUCTS SHOULD NOT BE SOLD. Hire more competent staff that can determine whether a product is expired or not.

I went to buy groceries today and want to thank the staff who are coming out to work so we can go and buy food. Safeway has gone above and beyond to help protect us. They have sanitizer and wipes for carts and have gone so far as to put arrows on the floor so aisles are one way which should prevent us from coming face to face with another shopper. Therein, lies the problem, I passed many people going the wrong way. Please folks for the safety of everyone, yourself included, follow the arrows. Many thanks Safeway!

So convenient when you are in the mall, and need to pick up a few small items for supper or lunch!

Nothing much to say apart from it wasn't crowded and it is very convenient as it is inside market mall.

It's a pretty tight store as in there's alot in a small space but it is still everything you would like and expect from a Safeway. Prices are slightly higher than alternatives but you get what you pay for fresh, healthy, organic, and cleanliness.

Simply a very nice store. Pharmacy staff are particularly pleasant friendly and helpful. I'm a totally satisfied regular customer.

Store is clean and well stocked. I'm giving 2 stars for 2 reasons. First, no cashier to go back into the mall, might as well not have a mall entrance. Second, worst sourdough bread I've ever purchased.

Typical Safeway. Lots of products and nice staff. In a convenient location if you are at the mall and need to pick up groceries.

Good place to grab lunch if you're in the mall and not interested in a spot down restaurant or fast food. Check out can be slow during busy times.

Close your home. Has a kid's play area, which keeps my child entertained. Clean and comfortable place to go for a walk, snack and coffee:).

Pro tip: they're open later than the mall so I always do my mall errands and end with the grocery shop

Typical Safeway but decided to rate because they do "sensory friendly" nights from 7pm to opm. They keep some lights off and noises down for shoppers. Not only is this a great service I love that they are (as a side effect) being a bit more eco consious and saving electricity as well!

This Safeway is actual garbage. It’s dirty, has not nearly as good of a selection as other ones and there are not enough cashiers which causes huge wait times.

A great shopping centre in the vicinity of UofC. With a soon to be finished cinema theatre next to it, I can definitely see the popularity of the mall grow.

Not sure why the bagging boy thought bread worked well under milk hopefully some kind of training is started now cause it was not done beforehand

I spend whole days here with my wife and daughter. They like shopping and they are content on shops choice and quality of service. Food court is also nice here, plus Starbucks at every corner and other alternatives.

Staff have always been very helpful and friendly. Store makes an effort to keep prices reasonable, but try to shop on Customer Appreciation Day (first Tuesday of the month) if you're buying large amounts.

Alexander at the deli area was impeccable with his sandwich crafting. He patiently answered our questions and made us the most beautiful sandwich I have ever seen.
