Without a doubt, Safeway South View deserves a glowing 5-star rating! Their yummy fresh-baked bread, a delightful Sunday morning tradition, is a treat for the taste buds. The friendly and helpful staff always greet us with a warm smile and go above and beyond to assist with our shopping needs. Their exceptional customer service adds to the already enjoyable experience. Safeway South View has become our favorite grocery store, offering not only top-quality products but also a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. We couldn't ask for a better place to shop!
I like safeway but there "Hot-precooked chickens" werent available as there ovebs were not functioning but there greatest downfall is easily noticed in their pricing. MY siggestion is to apply for a job in advance so you cam get the employee discount, that way youre only paying twice the amount you would pay at "No Frills or The Dollar store".
Great place to shop. Lines are never long. They also have a self check out. A Starbucks is great to have there aswell and I'm also a big fan of their plants and flowers.
Should have left the floor plan the same after the reno's, walked up n down every aisle and couldn't find what I was after. Ask for help at Cust Service only to be sent to the wrong part of the store. Left after half an hour, only buying one item.
I come here all the time and today was amazing! Connie the cashier deserves a raise! She was so polite an kind at the till! Took her time to give me a compliment an ask me how my day was! She’s lovely, an the Safeway renovations look amazing!
Good selection of things for lunch and the prices are better than going to a gas station.
Could use more tills or the self checkout open in the am as I ended up waiting quite a while just to grab a few things and the exit being locked on one side is pretty inconvenient having to turn around with your stuff then walk to the other end of the store because it wasn't visibly marked you can't exit then walk across the parking lot because I had parked on the other side.
On Valentine’s Day they dedicated a till for floral along with the floral counter. What a great idea, I certainly appreciated it as the floral department was extremely busy. Good proactive thinking.
Outstanding staff and there's so much fresh things at the bakery section of the store, and after the renovation it looks nicer (even though it was just as nice before reno's were being done) and they have great selection on produce as well.
I want to give a huge shout out to Mic in the meat department in southside safeway, Grande Prairie. I was looking for short ribs to make a meal for my family on family day. He went out of his way to look in the cooler for me. He asked what I was making. I told him it was for a type of tacos. He suggested a chuck roast as it will shred just the same. He came out with a nice cut. I was so impressed with his service. 5 stars for Mic.
Prices creeping up fast. Every visit it costs you more for the same stuff. The only reasons to go there are.its not very busy anymore, the clerks are pleasant and the store is clean.
Clean location, and the young guy bringing in & cleaning carts April 25th around noon was super polite, and came to pick up our cart from the vehicle once we loaded our groceries! Pleasure to shop at this location,
I like this place as it is clean and not super busy. The products inside though are of the highest quality, but a little pricey. I like shopping there as it smells clean also.
My experience at Safeway was just as the name implies.safe. People wearing masks and the constant cleaning of carts and baskets was an immediate comfort as soon as I walked in. The only thing dangerous about this homey grocery environment are the prices of everyday products. Despite that I do believe Safeway to be a good place to shop if you keep your eye on flyers or bargains as the yellow sale sticker does appeal to this particular Safeway shopper
A nice atmosphere inside with the music and lighting. I just went for a couple of items So I didn't take a basket. Turned out I should have. It would be nice to see some baskets located at the end of a few isles.at the south end of the store. They do this at the stores in the lower mainland. Very helpful.
I'm amazed at how often some of the shelves are empty (usually the ones I'm looking to select from) and how the quality seems to be dropping. Maybe Safeway should have remained Safeway.
We buy 60% of our groceries here, that will stop ASAP! Just had an item listed for $5 scan for $10 then the 2 ladys at the til. When i questioned the price they stood backs turned and whispered about me before and after sending another woman for a price check. Then told me the item was actually $7.how rude! This is the second time, same employee we will take our business elsewhere. Both times the tags had been removed by the employee doing the price check. SHADY! Unfortunately im not the only one to experience this, i should have stopped shopping there after the last time.
Stock levels can be very hit and miss. Some items we regularly buy can not be seen for 3 or 4 weeks at a time. They also have an issue with best before dates, possibly due to poor shelf item rotation.
SLAAAAAY SAFEWAY HUNTY. Feels like I'm walking into my house, omg the smell of the bakery #wet. Brb going to rent a moving van from Driving force and move in.
Do not care for the changes making it more sobeys less safeway, just because we knowbits going change doesnt mean we have to like it. Im slowly moving my grocery shopping elsewhere as products i used to het are no longer there
This is my closest grocery store, so I tend to go there out of convenience. They do have an excellent variety of items, and fresh produce, which I love. I'm also always happy to see new and interesting things I may have not seen before.
I spent a great deal of time avoiding Safeway because of the high prices, but I have to say, as long as you know what price range the item you're looking for is in, you'll be fine; in fact, a lot of the prices are on par with other retailers. They also frequently have items on sale, and have items you can't necessarily get anywhere else (I'm looking at you, enchilada sauce).
The staff is genuinely friendly, fun, and courteous, and I enjoy speaking with them. The store is also quite clean. The friendliness of the staff is such a huge bonus when it comes to needing to interact with people too.
So why the 4 instead of 5 stars? The meat. I don't know what it is with the meat, but the chicken especially, goes rancid so quickly. I do check best before dates on meat (and hilariously sniff before taking) due to past bad experiences with other places, but regardless of the precautions, it seems like it will go rotten within 5 days or less. And I don't mean, "I need to cook this tonight or it will go bad", I mean, "GONDOR CALLS FOR AID, THE STENCH SHALL NEVER LEAVE AND OUR TASTEBUDS BLEED WITH TERROR! "
Would truly like to thank the staff and management for the humiliation they've dished out so close to the holidays.
I hope the counter man, Neil, is truly happy with the fifty cents he wouldn't let me run to get after I was just short. I hope that the seemingly-unacceptable amount of effort he had to expend suspending my order is quickly regained at his part time job.
Meanwhile, the extra effort I had to go through, ferrying two boys under six years old in and out of your store TWICE simply for ¢50 on my $60 bill, is instead going to go to someplace like Superstore or IGA.
