A great grocery store right by South centre mall. Really kind staff and great selections of just about everything

A good grocery store, lots of selection, decent prices (for 2023) and the store has always been clean whenever I have been in. The location is very convenient, although during the holiday season it is impossible to find reasonably close parking due to sharing a lot with southcentre mall. The snack selection here is excellent, better than some of the smaller locations for sure.

I bought cinnamon buns there it tasted good. Added whipping cream to taste better. Parking was great.

This is more or less your standard Safeway. It is often difficult to find staff, so I wish they had a kiosk to allow you to search for items. There is also a Safeway Liquor Store in the building beside it and it shares a parking lot with Southcenter Mall.

This is a big store with a lot of good selections. The rest rooms are usually pretty disgusting though

I love how much more quiet and relaxed they always are, and how the staff compliment this by never really interrupting me while i shop.the people at the deli are really nice too, and i’m always grateful to them for their work.

I was at the liquor store not the grocery store but it’s amazing! Big and bright, lots of selection and the friendliest staff you can ask for. They’re also very knowledgeable

Some foods good and prices regular.but meats wow very expensive.that my cpp very limts grocers foods cyz buget money.that life.

I am voting this location 5 stars for these reasons. Safeway is a premium offering in my opinion, so you pay higher grocery prices, but here are the things they nail at this location: 1) Large location with a variety of unique products 2) Locations always seems clean 3) Has a Starbucks inside with seating area 4) Cronuts are the best

Clean store, great selection, everything is always fresh and staff are wonderful. They advertise open until 10pm but they close doors at 7pm every night just FYI don’t go for late night shopping.

I love this Safeway. It's always clean and well stocked. Best part, they carry Spolumbos in their meat deli

Absolutely disgusting bathrooms! And these people serve FOOD! Customer bathrooms are deplorable but the staff ones are putrid. Wouldn't wanna eat food outta a store that has bathrooms like that

I visited yesterday to p/u my fav coffee, Edwards Decaf. This med roast gourmet traditional decaf, full bodied with Vanilla Aroma has been my fav for over 20 yrs and is only sold at Safeway.

We stopped shopping here for for a while due to some of their staff being rude and unhelpful. Not just to me but even to their fellow staff that I didn’t want my kids to see. But last night we were too tired to go somewhere else, went there with our children for last minute shopping and their staff are awesome especially the young gentleman at the till. He is very helpful. I will definitely come back to shop here again.

Great prices, especially in the produce department. The store was extremely clean, and everyone we saw were super friendly. The cashier lacked social skills, but that did not dampen our experience!

Convenient location, great deli and selection. Friendly staff. Voila, their “pickup order ahead” service is fantastic, used it once. It did bother me, that on A really cold Christmas Eve, the staff member from Voila (Safeway staff), came to my vehicle with my groceries & he wasn’t able to take my cash tip? Cold Christmas Eve night & I wanted to express my thanks & they could not accept it (Safeway policy). That’s not right to me, hopefully it will change. The only other reason for the 4 stars, is the parking lot. Often shoppers at the mall park there.
Sometimes parking big vehicles, like a truck, isn’t easy. My husband has a truck and parked a ways back - not saying this is Safeways fault, but the door was hit and that’s unfortunate when people who damage your vehicle, just drive away- could have happened anywhere.
I just wanted to mention to maybe park off to the North East side of this Safeway if you have a truck or just want to avoid mall shoppers. The selection, food, staff, management, even prices are decent, convenient, we still shop there, sometimes just walk or order Voila (which is actually cheaper than shopping inside), I’m not sure why but I’ve only used Voila once.

Great selection, the shelves are always nicely organized. The staff is always on top of their game. Prices are not great.

This place is a wonderland. I might travel here more often. It’s not in my neighbour hood, but I popped in to grab a few things and it was delightful

Their bakery items are to die for. Like going to a pastry shop. I shop there for my company downtown because I find this bakery the most consistent and the staff are WONDERFUL!

Huge selection of deli meat and cheeses that other large grocery stores don't have, or you have to go to specialty stores for.

I love the huge section of natural supplements and products at this location plenty of gluten free options, and a good selection of certified organic produce

Clean, well-maintained grocery store. Most produce is fresh and of good quality, though it may cost a little higher. I downgraded it by one point due to an unacceptable, rude behavior of a staff during self checkout. It was later reported to a store manager and hopefully I would not experience that in the future.

I really like my new Safeway, after the Southland crossing one closed I was forced to go here. I'm glad I did, its clean stocked and a pleasure to go.

Probably the best grocery store in the area. Large selection of products, produce is usually fresh. A lack of specialty items and Asian ingredients is noticeable.

It is our go to place for a family java at Starbucks and lunch from Safeway. Lunch is always good at Safeway. You can order a panini your way, at a reasonable price. With a Starbucks coffee it is a win win. The really nice thing is, it is not too busy, and we can enjoy a family visit in the eating area.

Employee at the sandwich making area went above and beyond to assist me today. Really appreciate that level of customer service! Excellent store.

We always like an excuse to come to this Safeway (far out of our way), as we love, love the fresh sushi made on site by a master chief and his assistants. He was away sick for a prolonged period of time. We were very afraid that he would never return and the prepackaged stuff they had during his absence was terrible. All is well in Safeway's sushi land now with his return.

They are slowly loosing a lot of items because of the certain partnership. No more good deli items. No more great organic items. It's really a hit or miss to be honest. Very young management which in turn you get unaware employees for customer needs, and the likes of why people keep coming back.

Good place to shop but found some prices a little high. Friendly and helpful staff. Liked that the place was clean and well stocked. Noticed several items I don't remember seeing in a grocery store for a long time e.g. Old fashioned soda and confections.

It's just a grocery store but it is clean and does have a good selection of meats and cheeses, I did have a problem with one of the staff members here but I think management may have spoken to this individual because she is very nice and very pleasent to go deal with now.

Rawa is the best. I came to buy cake for my brother. All the staff working in the bakery department left due to it was late. So Rawa from customer service helped me to get the candles and decorated the cake for me. Even assisted me with the checkout.

We call this Safeway "the big Safeway". We have a small one in our neighbouring community, but whenever we want to get a full shop for our household, we usually go here. It has a huge selection of everything you could ever need, lots of convenient parking, and wide, clean aisles.

They didn't have single baking potatoes which is what I went there to purchase so I left and found them in my local Safeway in Bonavista.

Went in to buy fresh cut up fruit, but ended with unripened cantaloupe and rotting honeydew melon. I expect that from Superstore, not Safeway which charges more for the food.

Sharon is very snarky and needs to learn customer service. They have one till open during evening rush hour. She said it’s the cashiers responsibility to call for help, or maybe the manager should be checking too.

I find Safeway to be priced too high. The selection is a fraction of what you can get from Superstore.

And I worked at Safeway during high school, I still have fond memories of that job. But still, I choose to shop for groceries pretty much anywhere else because of price and selection.

The staff is never very friendly. Went there last week. And one of the staff members opened a til, asked the two people in front of me to help them. When I went over, because the lady at the other til was buying a lot. He nastily pointed at his sign and said I'm obviously closed. I went back to the other line and waited, when he was done with those teo people he came and took three other people from behind me.
No one is every at the courtesy desk to help with bus tickets.
Not a great experiance.
