Safeway Thorncliffe

The location is bit weird. Not in a main road. However it's inside a community.

Food is relatively expensive comparing with other grocery store.

The only problem with Safeway is that there is always ONLY two cashiers working and there is no self checkout

It's your basic Safeway. The bakery is pretty minimal, and there's never anyone at the floral kiosk/deli desk. But it has everything a Safeway usually has, plus a Starbucks kiosk that is staffed most of the time. Not great, not terrible, just decent.

Find it to be disorganized it's never a quick in and out no self check outs always line up express lane not express many seniors shop here and visit with cashiers

Groceries have become so expensive everywhere and even more so at a store like Safeway. I didn't pick anything there.

Great selection of fruits and veggies. Was able to find some lactose free Mozzerella. Staff were friendly and checkout was fast.

It's just another Safeway that's slightly further away for me than the Beddington one. I like the quality of the food here more though.

What can I say about Safeway. Customer service could be improved. Sticker price on shelf was not honored. Yes, product was on sale the day before but sticker was still up so I presumed that was the price. NOT. Who looks at the date on those stickers? No one. You look at the sale price. I have been in other retail places and similar errors were honored, as they said, "our mistake, not yours. "

It's one of fans to ship at but again wait time no staff ever at night 2 cashiers at best and it's hard to get them to fix any mistakes like with coupons or most often in correct pricing majority retailers providing u have receipt have no problem giving code 33 free if under 10 bucks if the shelf price is wrong happens way way to much

Actually following covid safety procedures unlike the beddington safeway. So much better. Clean and calm. I usually go to the beddington safeway as it's closer to my house but this one was so much better. They actually care about the safety of their customers and workers. I'll be making this location my go to from now on.

The buy one, get one free chicken breasts are old. Don’t be fooled. Brought mine home and they smelt rancid

I can't wear a mask and the lady at checkout was very rude to me. I will not darken their door again. I will shop at super store.

Best place to get Cakes on the same day, so if you forgot your kid's birthday or your anniversary you can quickly get a cake here and continue the celebration

The manager always makes me smile as he is very kind to his staff. The store is kept clean and well stocked, Also they make delicious fresh baked French bread!

Clean and security is on top of things about everyone following covid restrictions.great job. Give the staff a great thanks from me.

The bathroom is disgusting! Looks like the walls have never been washed or painted which I'm sure doesn't need to be done too regularly, Especially during covid a open washroom should be clean.

Always a great place to shop and they have a super selection on gluten free and lactose free items and they're very friendly and the store is very clean

Such friendly service here, well stocked, doing a good job during the pandemic at keeping people socially distant but still able to shop, regular cleaning from staff and hand sanitizer at every entrance.

The store is conveniently located and in the area. The store is clean and organized in a way that things are easy to find, the staff is nice, helpful and friendly. Met the store manager first thing this morning he was happy, outgoing and full of energy getting the store ready for the day and greeting customers with a smile. The produce department looks organized and fresh compared to most of the save on foods in calgary there quality is higher than most. If your looking for good service with great organization and fresh product than I highly recommend checking out this save on foods.

Customers are greeted with a employee and given a spritz of hand sanitizer. Direction arrows on the floor are very clear for covid protocol. Fresh produce selections are very good.

Really clean store, great produce section. The people at the pharmacy were more knowledgeable and approachable than I've seen before.

Never busy, easy to get in and out quick. As all Safeways are, its more expensive thsn other grocery stores. Theh say the service makes it better, but I have asked everyone in the store from the manager to the flower lady to keep the diet sodas stocked (diabetic reasons), but they never do, contrary to assurances otherwise.

My boyfriend and I don't usually shop at Safeway but we love buying lunch at the deli. Always warm and yummy.

Always friendly and willing to offer a hand, whether it is to help you take out the groceries to your car or to help you find something. Great service and always a pleasant place to shop for your groceries. That is why I always come back here when I can.

I've been coming here for years and the service gets worse each time. From the moment you come in staff don't welcome you or ask if you need help. The teller is rushed, unpleasant, and barely even says hi. This might be my last time shopping here. There's better stores to shop for better pricing and quality of products.

I'm always there and they always treat me good. They kind of know me over there too so that is one of the great side of it. Very convenient it's in the Highland Park community so it's 5 mins walk for most of us.

This is my neighbourhood Safeway. If you are looking for specialty or international foods, you may want to check out other stores, but it always has the usual items I am looking for. As for pricing, I always find they have great deals in the fish and meat sections - if you shop according to what is on sale, you can save a lot more $$ than many other grocery stores. The staff there are also very friendly and helpful and always offer to help me carry my groceries out. Nice touch.
*They also have a liquor store in the same building and I rate it similarly. They are helpful and pretty knowledgeable about their stock - ESPECIALLY the young man in the Refrigerated Section who helps me make good choices.

Haven't shopped there in along time. Loved they had a designated parking spot for seniors.who knew? Good choice of grocery products and a nice bakery!

Cashiers here think they are the moral compass of the neighborhood. Place makes me cringe. I hate superstore but safeway is worse.

This Safeway is well stocked, the sales are decent and the staff update and take down expired sales tags on time. Not busy at all at all at night time. The staff are also very helpful and friendly.

Don't get the whole "We have a Starbucks but we're different. " A bit frustrating trying to use star points.

Older store that has less depth/aisle length than newer remodelled stores but with most of the same selection.

My local grocery. Always well stocked. I can generally depend on it as a one stop shop for my grocery needs.

Unfortunately I have to give this store a two. The reason being is the behaviour of the stocking staff. On two separate occasions I have asked one them to get something out of the stock room that has been depleted on the shelve. They were not prepared to do that. I miss the the days when they more than happy to get something from the back for a customer. The cashiers are generally friendly and I give the pharmacy high marks. The store is only a couple of kms.from home and we use it frequently. Too bad they fall down so badly in this area.
