Safeway Windermere

Really disappointed with the butcher shop buying meat at the counter that the expiration date is scheduled for a few days late I finally arrive home I open the packages rotten meat 3 packages of meat at $30 and more in the trash I think the rotation of the meat doesn't do it well.really safeway disappointed and it's not the first time.

1.5 stars The store is clean.
Ever since the big S and Sobeys dropped airmiles and went with awful scene it rewards I barely go to Safeway, maybe 1 time every few months, for milk. Safeway and Sobys by far has the worst pricing.probably the reason for lots of stock and dwindling foot traffic. Maybe Safeway wants to price themselves out of business

Convenient, great deli, I buy their big sandwich and pre cut fruit regularly for lunches. The store is clean and never short staffed.

Produce department out of sync with checkouts. I picked up a bag of cherries that were marked on sale at $6.99 When I tried scanning them at self-checkouts, the system didn't recognize the barcode. The reason is because the price was actually $6.99/pound not an item price. When the clerk came to my screen and searched for the item, it was priced in kilograms not lbs and total weight changed the actual price to over $15.00. Pretty bad and seriously misleading to shoppers.

Surprisingly the only grocery store open in Windermere until 11 pm. Staff is friendly, and i was able to get in and out in less than 4 minutes as aisles was super organized and clean. I wish all safeways were like this.

Store is clean. Mostly used for the in store pharmacy. Pharmaceutical staff is knowledgeable and courteous. Not a regular stop for myself to add more information.

Only gone during slower hours, always been a quick in and out. Good amount of fresh produce and not overly expensive.

Everything is stocked and done so neatly and thoughtfully. Service was speedy and friendly. Likely my choice of Safeway in the area.

I am not usually one to write a bad review. And I’m not usually one to shop at Safeway
BUT
I called in wanting a simple chicken pot pie, and asked if their sandwich station was open. Both deli items.
When I called there was no chicken pot pie but was assured they would put one in for me and I’ll be there at 6pm (2 hours in advance). I got there at 6 and said, I’ve ordered the chicken pot pie for pick up… they told me they gave it to someone else and proceeded to tell me I can get a family one for $16 or get a cold one…. Which defeated the whole purpose of my visit. Then I went to the sandwich station…. And they have many types of bread. I asked for Italian, not avail. I asked for ciabatta, not available so I had to say …. How bout you tell me what kind of bread you DO have? It was one whole wheat and that was it…. So I even passed in the sandwich.

Then…… I know that Safeway has a tomato bocconci salad so thought to get that instead and it was not available.

So I specifically called this Safeway, made sure about the sandwich station, and the chicken pot pie…. The salad was not mentioned

Needless to say I left the store with nothing and went to subway……

More quality meat than your local supermarkets, more pricey but alot less busy if you need to pick up something for lunch or dinner. Produce is usually alot fresher aswell. Fresh breads and bakery on-site. Deli food should be avoided, always seems to be older/ not made the same day. Rotisserie chickens are always tasty though.

They labeled the price wrongly and some of their old female staffs were very rude. Manager called to provide a gift card as an apology. However, the old woman who handed over the gift card wes even ruder. Every bad experience. Their staffs need better training.

Cashier Natalia B was very disrespectful by expressing her opinion on a personal conversation me and my partner had between us while in line.

Helpful staff, clean store, good selection over all, and freshly made cakes (including Black Forest cake with real whipped cream) in the bakery section.
Having more check outs open at one time would be nice during busier times of day.

Always helpful and friendly when im there. I seen some lady freak out at an older lady today. Litterally freaked out on her and swore in front of her daughter may I add. Her daughter looked embarrassed. She also yelled at customers too and then went to the manager. She blew her temper. That wasn't fair to the worker. I'm sorry that happened and you have to deal with that. All I seen was she was offering help and the girl freaked out. Customers should be more understanding with the workers. That was not necessary.

It's clean, not busy when I shop late, my only complaint is that they don't carry siracha at all.

In and out was super easy to find what I was looking for. Person on the register, was polite and courteous

Employees always ask if I found everything I needed and friendly. Bakery is impressive. I am disappointed that Safeway discontinued Paul Newman bbq sauces and Sunrype products in favor of inferior product like mushy, sketchy Motts apple sauce. All in the efforts to keep their costs down, I guess.

Great selection of fresh produce, deli meats and baked goods - always in stock.
It's Safeway so the base prices arent very good compared to walmart and superstore, but the service is far superior if you are willing to pay the extra

Like this store. It may be just a little more expensive in general. But they always seem to have everything I'm looking for and the store is never too terribly busy.

Pricey products, very restricted bakery section, rarely any staff on the floor, lots of patrons do not adhere to wearing masks or keeping at least 6ft distance.will continue to shop at superstore where there are more respectful patrons

The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Not sure what changed in the past couple weeks but there seems to be less staff and longer lines. Probably not ideal with Covid so prevalent.

Would be 5 stars if there were more staff available.

Having just moved to Ambleside Dr and having so many options for shopping, i decided to give this Safeway a try before venturing off to other larger grocery stores. And let me tell you, i was not disappointed! Staff is incredibly friendly, the store is well stocked and organized, 95% of the time there is always someone to help you find an item (and they make you feel like a priority), AND they've done a great job at maintaining a clean and safe shopping experience by having attendants at the door with sanitizer, and constantly cleaning carts and high touch areas (like self checkout). Over all i have been incredibly impressed with the professionalism and presentation of both the building and employee's, and highly recommend giving them your business!

P. S. Rocking bakery with fresh daily bread and a wide variety of selections! Like, come on!

Ok. Everything was layed out ok. Found everything easily. Except the self cashier was "ok, bye now" kind of rude, he was meaning. Lol get out. As I was in tow with 3 boys under 7, kinda hard to move quick.

Favorite grocery store in the area, compared to super store and Sobeys a couple minutes away this location has a great selection of everything and it's never out of items.

Safeway Windermere gas bar puts water in the windshield cleaning dispensers and yet when asked they say its a 50/50 mix. Looks like water, smells like water, and cleaned my glass like water. Fack.

Staff is friendly. I went to buy some Bakery products. There were no empty shelves. I could select what ever I need. No too crowds. I like that.

I have always been a fan of this Safeway! The staff are so kind and always engage with you. I also was very impressed with how well they took care of the store and their customers ever since the beginning of COVID19. I have always felt safe and encouraged at this Safeway!

The staff treated me so good with my service dog, other customer was rude to me but the staff stepped in and helped me finish my purchase, I love the way I was treated by the Safeway staff and I say thank you to all of them

I prefer other grocery chains for my regular shopping but is very good for those extras we need last minute.

This is Safeway store that converted me back to shopping at Safeway. They have stock on the items I am looking for and all the staff are super helpful. This is a well run store and is beacon to all other Safeway store in the area

Dealt with the nicest and most helpful staff during this covid19 situation. I remember shopping at places was like walking through town during martial law. Finally, a place that doesn't.

My experience at this Safeway's is highly variable. The staff and are very nice polite and helpful Unfortunatelythe store is often poorly stocked and the shelves are not refilled on a regular or timely basis. They often are out of advertised specials within 2 or 3 days, therefore, if you don't shop on the first day you're not likely to get what you want.

I have to admit, having a Safeway here in my community has been really positive during COVID-19. The staff are going over and above keeping the store clean and providing sanitizer. As you walk in there is a staff member wiping down the carts and ensuring you that it is clean and safe. There is also a hand washing station and lots of hand sanitizer. The store is mapped out with arrows and it's very easy to navigate through the store. The staff make a point to say hello and offer assistance providing a positive atmosphere. Thank you to all of the staff at the Windermere Safeway for helping to keep our community safe while providing an essential service. I truly appreciate you all!

Amid the pandemic we did need to get out and get some essentials at Safeway. On this Good Friday we went to the Windermere store and were blown away by how organized, helpful and friendly the whole staff were. Many customers could not seem to understand the lines and arrows on the floor and it was very frustrating but there were staff there who gave them assistance and made sure they were following the social distancing and path plans on the floor in a very positive and cheerful manner. I applaud all the staff who maintained a positive and cheerful attitude at a time when being short or rude would be the norm. Well done all and especially at the checkout Divya was AWESOME and very helpful and patient. This staff made a very stressful shopping outing a truly exceptional one. Thank you, Thank You, Thank You!

Its clean. But I purchased fresh donuts. They were not fresh. Very dried out and old. That was disappointing

The customer service desk always has conflicting information. One rep will tell you one thing and the next day a different rep will inform you otherwise. Consistency please

Lots of parking plus a convenient and competitively priced gas bar make this particular location welcoming. The store itself is bright and airy. Items are plentiful and shelves are well stocked. I like both their meat department and bakery with lots of daily fresh offerings

I cannot speak English very well but people work here always lend me help and so I feel comfortable shopping here at Safeway Thank you

A very convenient clean grocery store, near me with the most pleasant and helpful staff. Every shopping trip is pleasant here.

Healthy place to shop, you wont impulse buy there since most items are more expensive then competitor's but also not healthy.

Great looking store and the sections are nicely jazzed up. Really good selection. This place is pricier than average.
I'm not sure if they still make my favorite donut which was a maple cream with real bacon bits sprinkled on top, but they should!
