Safeway Woodbine Square

This safeway is the most convenient for me but I will drive further for groceries because there is always homeless people inside and I've witnessed shoplifting and liquor consumption happening onsite. Staff doesn't seem to notice what's going on and it makes for a very uncomfortable and unsafe shopping experience.

This Safeway is above and beyond other grocery stores, and I'm not just saying that because I have any favoritism for this store! It's produce section is incredibility well maintained, I've never seen anything that didn't look fresh and delectable, looking like it was fresh from the field!

The employees are all incredible, if you shop here regularly and get to know them then you realise that they aren't being helpful because they need to, it's because they genuinely care and want to make your day brighter.

The pharmacy is also quick with prescriptions, they don't hold them up to make you shop around, they get them to you as soon as they can. Other than that, I don't know what else I can say to recommend this store, its just a diamond among the rough!

Absolutely awful experience. Woman at checkout was racially profiling me and my grandmother and wouldn’t let me tap my card. She said she had to “rescan everything” because I tapped it “wrong” she was being extremely rude to me and my grandmother. Every time we go here we get stalked because we are indigenous and the one time we told someone they said “they are just making sure you don’t steal anything” but whenever I go to a different Safeway nobody stalks us and follows us around!

Went to get a sandwich, never disappointed. Stacy was so kind and just amazing. So so helpful, and she made a bomb sandwich. Thanks Stacy!

An older Safeway store which is in need of various improvements. The self service check out machines are often faulty and need upgraded. The store staff can be helpful at times depending on who you get working. I went to the in store pharmacy once and did not like the service received - wouldn't recommend the pharmacy at all.

Very tidy and clean. Organized with reason.
Restrooms were pretty bad though; one doesn't seem to be enough to service the sheer amount of people using it.

They were a little low on the varieties of foods that seemed to be readily available at other Safeway stores. But over all it was a pleasant shopping my experience.

This has alot to do with the employees.
They went out of their way to help customers.
That has alot to do with my 5 star choice.
Will go back again.

This Safeway is awesome, they make some custom things in the bakery I can’t find anywhere else in the city.

The pharmacy is great, I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait in line and the staff is very knowledgeable about the drugs and any contraindications that may exist with your meds.

The store staff is always friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend them for custom items from the bakery and also the pharmacy.

Yep between both Glenmore landing and Woodbine Safeway I like both places

I always love Safeway but this on was particularly clean and enjoyable. I was at a basketball tournament at seven cheifs sport plex and stop here to grab snacks and lunch. Lots of ready to eat choices (both healthy and less healthy) My family loved it.

It seemed very hard to find a person to help me? The store wasn't busy so I wandered around for quite a while until I found most of the things I wanted.

Only went there for the pharmacy but the store itself is clean and it's location is convenient plus they sell frozen Pão de queso which they currently have on sale. They also used to sell frozen won tons but has since replaced it with another brand of wontons which look more like dumplings than won tons. They also sell chuck hamburger patties which is how hamburgers should be, the fascination with sirloin burgers that Calgary has leads to tasteless dry hockey pucks for hamburgers that need to be over dressed, burgers should be made from fatty meats such as chuck not leaner cuts.

Very limited selection as its a small safeway and lots of things are out of stock often. Its my closest grocery store but I usually have a better experience shopping elsewhere. The frequent sales do make it worthwhile picking a few things up from there from time to time.

Hmmm. Were to start sobeys has ruined safeway and i find their prices are higher then most. I prefer superstore. Also at this location i find the workers always seem grumpy. I dont get sandwich meat here ever. Higher priced, if you can find someone finally to slice. Mist seem so miserable. Except the older gentleman. Hes a nice guy

Always a pleasant experience and the staff is and always ready to provide aid if so required. Price and selection of goods is comparable with other food stores.

They have a problem with availability on menu item. Also seems like every time I go into order there is someone on break. Quite frustrating when you are in a hurry and dying of thirst.

Convenient store for all your grocery needs. Very friendly staff. Going above and beyond during COVID19 times.

I don't like people walking so fast to get to the parking lot without looking at the vehicles. Maybe make some fence around it?

I was pleasantly surprised that when I asked employee where to find item he took me directly there. Good friendly service.

Customer services there is ZERO specially the men from india i dont know his name, he yell to me because i asked about washroom

The quality and standards of Woodbine Square still keep me coming back here to shop, get a coffee, do banking as well as numerous other errands All in the one centre. Keep up the great services Woodbine Square!

Good selection, nice staff. Careful with the entrance especially if icy or if you use a wheelchair as visibility is not good and doors open right onto a very busy parking lot

Stopped in for my regular shopping and was able to get tp which was really needed here. No price increase and limit of 2 packages which was good to see. Stone canned foods and fresh produce were limited but all in all great store to shop at always

Today was a good day. I did not have the usual stalkers. Normally, I have 2 dudes that follow me, I know they follow me cause they always be passing me and looking in my basket. Every isle, not even bring inconspicuous. Today, no one followed me and I felt comfortable. So I shopped more.

Standard and well kept Safeway for the community. As always, I'll grab the best made sandwiches from their deli. Always friendly staff and clean produce area. Keep up the good work!

The toasted sandwiches they make just inside the door are fantastic and fairly priced. Has mostly everything, produce is usually good

Got everything I needed for an entertaining evening with the girls. Good wine store next door too.

I always go to this store when I need urgent ingredients for my baking/cooking. Their produce are always fresh and bake goods are not that sweet which is one of the things I love. The store is always clean and organized. Shout out to your employee Mary Ann who was keen and observant to see that I was walking with 2 baskets stuck together. She saved me from hurting someone or even myself. She helped me also by cleaning the till where customers help themselves pay their purchases. Love shopping here.

The cashier was rude, impatient and seemed upset that I chose her checkout. I only shop at this Safeway if I'm pressed for time or in an urgent situation. The 1 redeeming factor in this store is the deli staff. Very friendly and helpful.

Way to many Compliment brand products stocked at the expense of preferred proprietary brands. Whilst too much space devoted to a gazillion brands of coffee.

Ever since Soby's took over Safeway things have gone downhill. They keep changing their products and discontinuing products that we have been buying for years.

The produce department is terrible. Fruit and vegetables are rarely fresh. How can you sell rotten/wilted food?

The bakery department has been reduced to almost nothing since Sobey's took over. They sell about half the products now that they used to.

What's good there? The staff. Always friendly and happy to help. But I shop at Superstore and Co-op unless I don't have time to drive that far.

Why does the Sobey’s (Safeway) always have so many bare shelves? There are so many empty spots where products are meant to be. It’s not only sale items that are out, regular products that should be filling these spaces. I have been shopping at this location since 2004 and since Sobey’s took over its drastically gone down hill. The staff apologize but it’s not their fault. It’s either poor management or Sobey’s not caring about their customers. Either fix this problem or lose customers. I know many that now shop at CO-OP down the street because of Sobey’s poor management. I’m going to be taking my shopping there as well, until Sobey’s gets there act together.
