The food was delicious but I find it ridiculous that you have to pay extra for sides. Most restaurants will give you some type of a combo but not here. Make my rice at home when I order from here to save money on my order if I want any other side. For what you get the price is not customer friendly
I’ve been coming here for a few years now. Just had a date on the first and it was awesome waitresses waiter, the food, chef, sous chef whatever he has an amazing job. Thank you very much.
Recently renovated restaurant. Service was slow and inattentive. Food is phenomenal. Every dish ordered is packed with flavor. Vindaloo is spicy and delicious. Always fresh and piping hot. The amazing food is worth the poor service. Perhaps takeout is where they excel. On the expensive side for Indian grub. After supper intimacy is not recommended.
I love this restaurant. The atmosphere, restaurant settings and it is very spacious. Food is delicious and presentable. Friendly service. Will be my favorite go to Indian restaurant.
One of our favourite Indian restaurants in the city. We love Indian food and Saffron never disappoints. We were here for supper last night and loved it so much we came back for lunch. The customer service is outstanding. We always get a warm welcome when we walk through the door. The food is always fresh and warm. The spice level is always perfect. The restaurant is beautiful. The nicest atmosphere of any Indian place in the city. You could not go wrong by eating here.
I ordered lunch, and it was so good. But for starters, I ordered spring rolls thawereas frozen packed get it from a grocery store, not made in store. And sweets order was rasmlaii that was extra extra sweet.
We had Harsimran for our service and she was lovely. Food is amazing as always, perfect spice level, and food is always full of flavor. We love making it our monthly take out/dine in!
Finally had a chance to try the food at Saffron. Staff are very friendly. They suggested a couple different dishes I have not tried before and it was one of the best Indian food experiences I have had in Edmonton. Everyone better check this place out.
The staff were so lovely, I have nothing but praise for them. Sadly, my food was quite disappointing. I ordered Butter Chicken. It was quite weak. In fact, it tasted like lightly spiced tomato soup. It utterly lacked the rich, complex flavors and the creamy consistency the dish normally has. Perhaps this was a one-off, and the food is normally much better. I cannot recommend it.
Great food, but was really dissapointed by the pricing. I ordered Kurkuri Bhindi which was priced at 10$ on the menu but we were charged $11.99 out of the blue. We weren't told of any price change or given a heads up. It was the same story for a lot of appetizers. The menu should atleast reflect the change in the pricing or the customers should atleast be informed of the price change before ordering. Really dissapointing.
Very disappointed in the service at Saffron. My family went out after hearing some good things about the food, but the service was extremely poor and unprofessional. We waited about 1.5 hours for any of our appetizers and mains to come out. We had ordered naan and there was raw dough on the inside so it hadn't been cooked properly. It was disappointing to wait so long for the food, and then for it to not even be made properly. We had to ask multiple times for things like plates, spoons, and napkins which was also ridiculous. The servers seems to not know what they are are doing as 3 different people came up to our table, instead of just having one server. Overall, would not recommend. The prices are also very high for what their quality is.
Gery and the staff are superb. Treated me and my sister tonight with great food and service. Very high quality foods. Highly recommend. Please come taste their food.
Our group of seven had a wonderful experience here. The service could not have been more efficient and kind. They warmly accommodated my vegan diet with excellent suggestions.the entire evening was lovely! Thanks so much. We will be sure to return.
Worst food i have tried in canada. Manchurian taste like chef only used ketchup to make it. I found lots of turmeric in my daal. Paneer lababdar was also not good. Hot and sour soup was without ginger and spices? Too bad food quality
It was really great experience I had, food was delicious and cocktails were awesome too. I would definitely recommend to try their chicken curry, ever since I tried their food, it became my favorite food and drink place. I visit once or twice in a week there, and I will suggest you to visit and enjoy their delicious food and excellent cocktails.
I make a habit not to order food from chains but let me tell you, I happened to be in the area and decided to pop in to grab the lamb korma to go. Holy heck. I was transported right back to the days my babysitter used to make it for me. The Naan was light and fluffy and not burned. The coconut naan was STUFFED. The korma was the best I've had in Edmonton. They also accommodate requests for 'mild' and really mean it. I have eaten here four times over the past week alone. Obsessed.
We ordered chaat papri which was literally worse, it was sauce all around and only pieces of papris. Then we ordered chicken Briyani which taste was okay but the smell of meat inside was hard to control very weird lol and their yougrt was soury.
Very nice place. We originally ordered the lamb vindaloo for pick-up but when we got there we decided to eat it there. They were very accommodating and super nice. Got us a table and brought over plates and utensils. And the food was amazing! Highly recommend this place to everyone!
We would like to praise the restaurant staff Kiran, We had placed a take out order and went to our hotel after a long day of shopping. When we started eating the appetizers we realized that they are a little extra Salty than usual, We called up the restaurant and spoke to Kiran. She was Kind enough to not only replace our entire food order but she also got the food delivered to our hotel. This is an example of great customer service. Wishing you all good luck.
Aloo Tikki was good but I wish they served some chana with it. Puri chole and chana bhatura were good too. Something I would never try again is stuffed jalapenos as they were very basic. Just plain cheese on half cut Jalapenos. Otherwise sitting arrangement and service was good.
Terrible experience! WORST SERVICE! Waited for a dine in order that they put into to go. Servers don't even know how to smile and don't know how to serve and talk. Definitely not coming back. What a waste of TIME.
Horrible Chicken. I mean it’s just one of the bad stuff i have tried in my life. Please don’t visit this place for starters. Using colors in their almost every food item and btw look at the green chutney. Looks Neon to me.
We are really thankful to the whole staff that they kept our baby stroller for almost 10 days even after my friend told them that stroller didn’t belong to us. We went there for a b’day party and overall food quality was very good and staff is very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend this place for quality food and best service.
Don't ever order the chicken lollipop from them. This is the 2nd time the chicken was stale and smelled rotten. The first time around it was more than a year and a half ago and it was horrible. Since, then they have upgraded their restaurant and thought of giving it another try assuming the quality would have improved. Same issue this time around. Highly disappointed.
They need improvement on each and every step.so from order taking to deliver of food.and worst thing is they automatically charge 18% of tip in the end.that's way too much. I hope they will consider this criticism in a positive way.good luck
Yesterday we have a best time for lunch at your place. The food was great and well presented. Our server was very welcoming. I can't wait to go back and have more.
Can’t compare this restaurant’s service and the cuisine’s quality to the other India Restaurants in the Edmonton City. The food tasted authentic Indian and the only restaurant I’d ever eat again in the city. It’s a 4.5 rating out of 5 but this restaurant’s employees and their hard work deserves the recognition.
We have had several wonderful meals at Safron. The staff are great and always go above and beyond, the food is delicious and there are tons of great options on the menu.
This place has definately set up really high standards for Indian food. No other place in Edmonton even come close to it. They have amazing atmosphere, fantastic service. Would certainly like to highlight our server Manny who was so warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place
What a beautiful upgrade they have done to the restaurant. The service was bang on, loved the new addition to menu. Tried their Nizami Handi and it was so so so good. Their new staff are very pleasant. Saffron has always been a go to Indian restaurant for us, with the changes, the service and quality and quantity of food I cannot wait to go back again. They have a lot of new added option for vegetarians and we absolutely loved it.
Saffron has been our number 1 choice for Indian food in Edmonton. For Appetizers I would recommend Paneer Tikka and Naan Pizza and for dishes Tawa Paneer. Price is little high as compared to other restaurants but the kind of food and service offered is worth it.
My top favourite for indian food in edmonton. Tried other places but no one can beat their food. Reasonable price and good quantity and no compromise on quality
Best Indian restaurant in the city! Generous portions with made from scratch ingredients and incredible flavour. We really enjoy the Dahl Makhani and Chilli paneer. Tables are well spaced for COVID.
I waited at the door for way too long and then at the table waited for another 15 min for someone to come and take our order and finally someone showed up and for the food it took more than the time told by the waitress very disappointed with the service it was very slow.
Awesome place for Indian cuisine. The staff is great, the location is best as well with ample of parking space, however if its busy please order your all stuff first.
Superb place for East Indian food. We ordered bharva karela with veg stuffing & chicken curry. Taste was so nice. Ambience another wonderful point. Only flaw was slow service from chef. That can be compensate thru taste.
Visted them few weeks ago, Good customer service but employees don't get to keep tips. Hope this review helps the employees to get their deserved tips. Don't think i will visit them in fututre and other should also give some thoughts about it.
My husband and I love Saffron, the food is always amazing and the staff are so friendly! They even put a happy face on our to go box it made my day, thanks Saffron!
Now that they have expanded, it's a good option to host parties of up to 40 guests. Taste is good and staff is professional. Bar also has enough options to handle burboune & scotch lovers to Tequila shotters and casual winers.
All I get is heart burn the entire day. I ordered food a couple days ago for my meals to work. Read the reviews and went with it. Biggest mistake. Never ever going back to this place.
Currently under renovation I guess, but still open for takeout. If you are craving for tasty north indian food saffron never disappointes. Their Dahi bhalla/ Dahi vada is very tasty and garnished well with tasty chutneys and pomegranate Malai kofta was soft and creamy Their tandoori selection is yummy too and needless to say Garlic Naan is a showstopper. Good friendly service and food
By far the best restaurant in the city of Edmonton for this type of food! This restaurants food, staff, and owner are top shelf! Called looking for help with delivery and they accommodated to an area they do not normally deliver too. The food was spectacular, and they delivered sooner than quoted! Small things like that are so appreciated. Thank you Saffron I will absolutely continue to support you.
Really disappointed to hear that this business does not welcome customers who have trained service dogs with them. I hope this establishment can educate themselves & learn more about the Alberta Service Dog Act to better accommodate for future customers.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the city. The vindaloo in particular cannot be matched. Always request the food extra spicy and they nail it 9/10 times.
I've been to this restaurant at least 4 times just before the lockdown, in a short window of time. Their food is AMAZING! Great portions, and very friendly staff. I would highly recommend their food, as well as their restaurant, hoping we can dine in some time soon.
I love this place since I have tried their food. Due to Covid, they have still maintained their food quality. And one more thing I am excited about, they are renovating and I can't wait to go their and enjoy the new ambience.
